Corvin hotel a great place in middle of budapest.

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. I stayed in a double on the sissi wing with a large bathroom and good hot shower. The breakfast buffet in the morning was great as I left early to walk budapest so having a good meal in the morning was fantastic.
The hotel is located a stones throw from an aldi and is right on the bus and metro route so getting to anywhere in the city is quick and easy.
I would recommend staying here if you are travelling solo and plan on returning.

Downside: curtains not black out so let light in early morning. I had a room overlooking the street which was also very noisy, very early (5am). Internet / wifi not great. Not a great choice of restaurants within close proximity unless you like fast food pizza or kebab.

This property located in cozy street. Room has bathtub and the fridge. I used both. It's important for me. I can put bottle of water to cool down, and take a bath after walking around the city long hours. I walked from this hotel to thermals pools, to good restaurants, to historical center of the city. Hotel has very nice celection of food for breakfast buffet.

This is a really nice hotel in a surprisingly quiet street in the the city centre. The staff are friendly, efficient and speak excellent English.

My room was spotlessly clean and a good size. Dittto the bathroom. The Wifi worked well. Overall the booking offered excellent value for money.

The one irritation was that no tea or coffee making facilities were provided in the room. That is is surprising for a 3 Star hotel.

I consider the hotel stay to be average. The biggest nightmare is a small and strange bath tub, in which it was very difficult to wash or shower. Breakfast ok, although always the same. Parking paid 15 euros per night, we were able to park practically in front of the hotel during the weekend free of charge. Close to shops: Aldi and Spar. Close to the center.

I made the mistake of reserving a single room. Turns out this is a bit of a joke among the staff. Though the square footage is that of a normal room, the ceiling is severely sloped, making it impossible to stand upright in most of the room. In other words is a storage space assigned as a room. Speaking to the staff brought only the smug reply, \"Its a room according to EU standards.\"
So if your'e going to stay, suggest you pay the 10 euro a night more (43 to 53 euro a night) and get the double room. Given the room was nonrefundable, that's what I did. Still, the experience proved extremely disappointing, hence the low score. Given all the other options, would NOT stay here again.

My brief visit to Budapest.

I liked the garden part of the hotel. Its nice to sit there and have a cup of coffee. But its not so easy to find a coffee machine in the hotel. The beds in the room were twin beds, too small.
The staff at the front desk were not very sociable, giving brief answers to questions without offering ideas or extra help. For example, when you normally ask the counter about something, such as is there a restaurant near by, they will answer you and then suggest where else to go, or offer you literature with a map and show you how to get there, etc.
But this was my general feeling in Budapest and not just at this hotel.

Checked in and dropped my bags. Returned to the room at night, only to find out that the AC in my room is not working. And that this is a known problem (there was also no remote because it is not working). I asked for a different room but hey said they are all booked. I insisted. They then gave me a single bed room. When I said I want a room like I booked they said they do not have one in the Sisi wing. After insisting they “found” one. The whole process was extremely unfriendly, with zero sense of service.
I will not return to this hotel again.

Great location and the staff service was impeccable. Only issue really was we were in the 3 star sissi wing and our room had some issues with it being older. E.g. our curtain rail on our bath tub fell down, and the towel holder fell down, and the double bed was 2 single beds in a double frame and both had loose springs which made sleep difficult. Our room wasn't great, but the hotel and staff and location of the hotel was fantastic. They helped us book a tour, spoke perfect english and booked our taxi to the airport and recommended a fantastic restaurant. The breakfast every morning was also excellent. The tram stop is a 3 min walk away which is brilliant.
Would definitely stay in this hotel hotel again if I was in Budapest but would probably stretch for the 4 star side.

This is a really nice and clean place to stay that is walking distance to the \"Inner City\" neighborhood. If you stay here, you can also just walk West to the river and get on the #2 train North to the major sites. The breakfast is really good.

Good hotel, close to the centre of Budapest. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Only one minor niggle was no tea/coffee facilities in the room. Excellent value for the price and would definitely recommend. Hungary itself...not so much. Food and drink cheap, but you can see most the sites in a weekend.

I booked this hotel because they are pet friendly

Breakfast: it seems they have more choices available on the weekends. I get it, it makes sense, I guess. What doesn't make sense is having one single toaster placed in a corner where everyone has to queue up to toast 2 slices at once in a crammed corner. They should consider moving fruit to the front and the bread and toaster to the back section to see if that alleviates the congestion near the meats and cheese station.

They do have 2 coffee stations, but it seems everyone migrates to the main coffee station which is near the entrance. That coffee station is also where the tea, sugar & honey are located. As a tea drinker I often ended up going to the front station, getting sugar & a tea bag then walking across the restaurant to the unused station for hot water. They should think about moving the tea, honey & sugar to the other side to see if that alleviates some of the congestion at the entrance.

It would also help if the staff informed guests upon arrival there are 2 areas where food can be found. On our first day at breakfast we thought the food selection was limited until halfway through breakfast we discovered there was another area with limited hot breakfast items, a selection of milk, soy milk, yogurt & fruit.

The room: both of us found the beds to be very uncomfortable. We could both feel every coil in the spring mattress. The hotel could really benefit from making a run to Ikea and buying some comfortable mattresses!

Perfect for affordable stay

I traveled with my wife to Budapest and spent over a week in this great hotel with the very reasonable and clean rooms. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast, included in the cheap room price was very good and breakfast staff was so nice and prepared to make some changes for the menu. Been to this hotel before in Summer. Remains a good place to stay with good transport facilities ...within 300 metres..tram 4/6...metro Corbyn Negyed.Changed room due to allocated one being a bit \"tired\"....water ingress and light out. Next room (502) was excellent. Breakfast a bit sparse and repetitive but quite acceptable. Staff excellent. This hotel has been bought by the adjacent Hotel Corbin and there will be extensive building in the near future (already started). Sissi to remain 3 star and Corbin to become a modern 4 star with additional facilities. NO tea/ coffee facilities in rooms and needed.

Fantastic value - highly recommend

We stayed as two couples for NYE and a couple if days either side. Immediately on our arrival, the hotel staff were ready to help, advising on sights to see, where to ring in the new year and were full of local knowledge. We were able to book trips via reception for reasonable prices too. The hotel was spotless, albeit a little in need of updating. Our room was cleaned every day, fresh towels provided etc. the hotel was in prime location - some decent bars round the corner and a stones throw from the M3 line - corvin-neggyed station which takes you to the main areas. Though it was freezing outside, the hotel was cozy and warm throughout. All in all, very pleasant stay and completely recommend this hotel :)

We didn't stay in the room for any length of time... We were out sightseeing, but the room was comfortable and quiet and we slept well. Close to the centrum and the major tourist areas. Car parking available at a small cost. Metro/ trams etc within 100 meters. Price for the room was much lower than I expected. Recommended.

Nice hotel in a nice area 5 mins from metro and 15-20 min stroll into very centre. Spacious rooms with showers in baths.
Clean with air conditioning. Needs a bit of care but met our needs.
Breakfast was fine but simple. If your looking for a big variety of continental or cooked food at breakfast you maybe disappointed.
Room had a fridge but no mini bar. Staff were excellent and offered suggestions for places to see and to eat.
Overall we would stay again as the pillow was amazing. Wish I could have got it in my bag.

One of my best hotel experiences

They were out of the room type we booked, so the front desk upgraded us to the penthouse for free! The breakfast here is also amazing, very Hungarian and so much selection. All rooms have AC (necessary in the summer). The front desk even arranged for in-room massages when we requested it for our last day! The staff will also help you book tickets for the main attractions so you don't have to wait in line when you get there. For the price, this hotel is a great deal and the staff is amazingly helpful and friendly!! Would highly recommend.

Location is convenient but other side of river is better and cleaner.Heatwave conditions and we were given room with no air con working Asked for remote to regulate temperature as not provided one. None forthcoming. Asked again next day Still not told air con wasn't working although remote was provided at last There was a plastic fan in room so that should have alerted us Asked for another room and finally got aircon
.Breakfast room not air-conditioned so didn't stay long there.
Cleaning was barely done and if half a cake of soap left then no new soap was provided.

Our room was on the top floor- 25x25 feet in floor area. It had a wall of windows overlooking gardens and trees and had a very spacious bathroom as well. Breakfast was delicious and breakfast room very pleasant. Staff very helpful with all our questions. Location was a short walk from the subway and even had a shoemaker along the route! Close to the Danube and tram service to sightseeing along the river. Baths in the City Park were spectacular; good people watching and many baths and temperatures to choose from. Beautiful setting. Hungarian National Gallery and its setting overlooking the Danube was breath-taking. Fisherman's Bastion was good for its view of the city as well. Shoe memorial is very moving, although had difficulty finding it. It is near the parliament buildings.

Great location

The hotel was clean and in an easy to get to location for much of the city. The rooms were of a decent size. I think the only weaknesses were the quality of the wifi and that the shower/ bath didn't have a floor which had a good grip. The staff were very helpful, particularly the people at main desk.

Fantastic Service

The hotel's staff were extremely helpfull , giving a lot of precious informations regarding tourism in Budapest . Also even I was checking out at 12 they agreed to let me leave my car in their parking , and so I was able to visit Budapest a couple more hours by foot

Great hotel, loved the breakfast and good location

Staff are really nice. The room was very nice and clean. It's located in a quiet area, and it takes about 10 - 15 minutes to get to the center, which is great because I don't like to stay in the center because it can get noisy. Loved having breakfast in the backyard, there are options for everyone: cereal, yogurt, bread, different kind of cheese, jams, ham, sausages, etc. I would definitely stay here again.
