LOVED my stay. I locked myself out of the safe and the room within the first hour of me checking in and they were patient and quick with helping me. Staff is amazing. I love staying at boutique hotels close to everything but far enough away for the quiet. The beach area was set up so cute with the lights and the pool area was always clean and personable. My only con is that the rooms are small. Perfect for solo travelers but wouldn’t be enough space for a girls trip or more than one person (to me). Would definitely choose this hotel to stay again.

Ideally situated right on the beach, this boutique hotel offers everything needed for a memorable Tamarindo vacation. All of the staff are friendly, helpful and always ready to respond to guests.
The room was clean and well maintained, just the right amount of space and even a kitchen area that allowed for stay in meals.
Breakfast was delivered daily and was fresh and generous. The view from the patio was both of the pool and the beach. Watching and hearing the waves while eating breakfast outside was awesome!

We had an ocean view room We walked out of our door to a lounger by the ocean!!! Magnificent view plus lots of shade. Be sure and accept the coconut water upon arrival. It comes in a coconut with the hotel name on it! Love the added touches. I felt very pampered at this hotel! Hopefully we will make it back to Costa Rica! Definitely put the Coast on your go to list!

A beautiful relaxing spot on the beach of Tamarindo. It’s a nice quiet hotel away from the hustle and bustle of where all the restaurants and shops are. But not to far away. Just a few minutes walk and you’re in it. Full kitchens in the rooms are a huge plus. And did I mention on the beach. Literally just steps away

A true hidden gem! This was our first visit to Costa Rica, and our stay at the Coast Beachfront Hotel was so worth it and really allowed us to enjoy our stay and maximize our time. Our room was very clean. For a junior suite, it offered everything we needed. The staff went out of their way to make it easy for us to get around by offering to contact local shuttles (even though we had a car) and excursions groups. Also, they recommended some great places for breakfast as an alternative on mornings when we wanted to get out and not have breakfast in the privacy of our room and enjoy the views of the beach and surrounding area which included seen monkeys in the trees from our room. Thank you Mavin, DeJean, Steffanie and the entire Coast Beachfront Hotel Team!

Staff was friendly and helpful. Fresh fruit for breakfast was unbelievably fresh- an absolute highlight. Amenities for us felt like everything we needed and nothing we didn't. Steps from a pristine beach with really fine sand and beautofully warm ocean water with light surf. It's at a quieter stretch of the beach near its south end, with mountain and sunset views that are perfection. A private lounging area is provided to guests, teeming with wildlife from iguanas to monkeys, squirrels to crabs, all minded by staff 24/7. Would love to see gluten free breakfast options in the future. Still, absolutely loved this gem of a hotel.

The hotel was fantastic! All the staff were so friendly and helpful, we loved Dejan and his hospitality. The breakfast was great, nice to pick each day and everything was fresh and delicious. The banana bread and lemon loaf were so tasty! Everything was clean and the hotel was located at the best part of the beach. A little bit of a walk to get to town but the trade is that it’s much quieter which was nice. We’d definitely stay again, thanks to all the staff at the Coast Hotel for giving us a proper “home” away from home! Pura Vida!!!

My wife booked this based solely on reviews and we were so glad we came across it. The hotel is a smaller boutique style hotel. Front desk was soo friendly.
Smaller pool in the middle of the hotel which was nice after being on the beach.
Direct beach access, they have someone watching your belongings the entire day so if you’re in the water or go for a walk you don’t have to worry about anyone going thru your stuff. Rooms were spacious, we had 2 beds & a deck with a couch/table on so we ate on the deck each morning
They do not have a restaurant or bar which initially I thought was a bummer but actually made us walk around and got to try other reataurants. There is a market 1/2 a mile down we actually picked up wine/beer & some small things to make in their kitchenette.
*we absolutely would stay here again

In the heart of touristy Tamarindo , Coast Hotel offers a spot or solace. With direct access to beach it was a great place for a family with young children. Hotel does not have in house dining but breakfast is served to the room and there are plenty other options close by. Whether you are looking for a relaxing getaway or like the tourist vibes , this hotel is a perfect choice.

This is a delightful boutique hotel with rooms equipped with a standard fridge, microwave, stove burners. It includes all dining accouterments including pots and pans. Breakfast is delivered to your door with selections of your choice. The fresh fruit was delicious. There is an amazing restaurant across the street,Sofia’s, and you can also walk down the beach to food trucks. The beach is a surfer’s paradise and there is a surf school next door and the hotel rents surf boards at a reasonable price. Totally enjoyable, friendly people and we enjoyed it. Would go back!

The security guards were so helpful with moving beach chairs and cushions for us. The proximity to town is perfect. Far enough away from the noise but only
a 7 minute walk. It’s not luxury by any means but is a very functional safe and cozy spot for a reasonable price!

Best kept secret if you are looking for a laid back vibe right on the beach w/o the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo beach. Entire staff from housekeeping to the grounds crew were fabulous. Our continental breakfast came fresh and on time everyday and our rooms were attended to with great care. We had an amazing stay at The Coast Hotel. The staff were honestly some of the best I’ve ever experienced at any resort — incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. They made the entire trip feel effortless and welcoming.

The beach was absolutely beautiful, clean, and perfect for relaxing or taking a walk. The location is also great — just a quick ten-minute walk into town, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants to explore.

Overall, The Coast Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I’d definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and safe holiday.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed my stay here. My room was much larger than expected and very clean.
The staff at the front desk was very friendly and as a solo traveler, this made me feel safe. My room was right outside the pool and I loved having the flexibility to sit at the pool or the beach which is only a few steps away! I appreciated that the staff happily carried a beach chair for me to sit directly on the beach as opposed to the shady private area for hotel guests.
I loved waking up every morning to complimentary breakfast delivered to my door. I do wish there were more options on the menu but was very appreciative that this was provided.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a budget friendly place to stay!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at The Coast and once again it was incredible. After a long day of travel, the front desk staff were genuinely happy to see that we had arrived and had everything ready for a speedy check in. The property is located in a good spot, away from the craziness of downtown but close enough you can walk. The beach area in front is one of the surfing hotspots if that's what you are looking for. The room was immaculate and morning breakfast was just what we needed - fruit,granola and coffee! There’s surfing right in front of the hotel and we had a short walk on the beach to the pickup spot for fishing.

Very beautiful hotel right on the beach, with easy beach access (great for laying out on the loungers and watching the sunset), with a pretty blue pool. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast were delicious and had huge portions. The only downside was the black mold in the shower, the wall below the air conditioner, and the air conditioner itself which was blowing out chunks of black stuff while on.

Started our honeymoon here. Amazing location - quiet and private but on the beach. We left our rental car parked in the lot the whole time and walked everywhere via the beach. Comfy bed, nice room, and breakfast is delivered to your room each morning. Front desk staff was very nice. Only complaint was that the TVs don’t work. They turn on but you can’t stream anything, connect to WiFi, or get cable channels, so they are basically useless. We asked for help and they told us the same thing.

Boutique hotel - steps to the beach which connects to the core part of town. Location is perfect. If you stay on the main floor, you enter from the patio door - very convenient. They have a communal BBQ with outdoor tables for dinners. Breakfast is ordered daily and comes to the room. It’s contental so no eggs or meat but there is a full kitchen if you want to cook. They even have a blender to make smoothies. Great for the leftover breakfast fruit!

We had an amazing stay at The Coast Beachfront Hotel! The location is unbeatable—right on the beach with surfable waves just steps away. They offer surfboard and boogie board rentals, making it super convenient to catch some waves. The hotel is a short, easy walk to the town center, so everything is close by, yet the area remains peaceful and safe. The rooms were spotless, the pool was inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The light breakfast delivered to our room each morning was a delightful touch. We stayed at this hotel for a week. The staff were all wonderful. There was a continental breakfast available to us everyday. Which is a oerfect start to the morning. Our room was clean and super comfortable with an amazing view. The pool is accessible and only 5 feet deep, and use of lounge chairs everywhere. Waking up to exoctic birds, and abimal sounds was an awesome experience. Seeing the Howler Monkeys on our way to down was the coolest ever. Plenty of iguanas and see crabs everywhere. This hotel offers the best dual experience. The romantic vacation away from the spring break party seen. And the vicinty of all the needs for a perfect vacation.
The staff will lead you in the right direction for all things Costa Rican.
Use the ice machine it is your friend. This was a very peaceful safe place to stay. And most important the pictures you see are real and everything is exactly as it shows. The beach is literally right there.

Our stay at The Coast Beachfront Hotel was absolutely wonderful! I don’t have one negative thing to say about it.
The property was beautiful, right on the most beautiful white sand beach, which was never super busy or frequented with vendors.
Very clean, well kept property and grounds and with security (never needed)
It’s not a huge hotel so quiet and peaceful. The pool was never busy.
They gave us a room upgrade which was so amazing! Beautiful flowers, coconut water and a bottle of wine to welcome us!
It’s within walking distance to many great restaurants, food trucks and any shopping!
The staff were wonderful! Always cheerful and helpful, especially Rosa and Deijan! They were so nice and always able to help with shuttles and all of our inquiries.
The included breakfast was lovely and always more than enough. Delivered to your room at your chosen time!
Our visit to Costa Rica (from Canada) was a trip we’ll always remember and the Coast Beachfront Hotel was a big part of that, along with the amazing excursions! ❤️

We booked both beachfront bungalows for 9 days for our family. We arrived late afternoon and the girl at the desk welcomed us by name and checked us in with no issues. She explained the breakfast options and gave us the form which we filled out and returned to the office. The property is not large with a pool situated on the middle of the buildings. The rooms were great with a small kitchen that fulfilled all of our needs. Never an issue getting a chair on the beach or pool. We walked just about everywhere we needed to go and got a taxi once. The beach is one of the nicest we’ve ever been to and the ocean was warm. Decent waves, we surfed just about every day.
The only negatives we had were as Expedia Gold members were supposed to have $10 per day per room credit, which we would’ve used towards our surfboard rental. The girl at the front desk said it was per reservation even though it is clear in my reservation. Life’s too short to argue but they weren’t budging on it. Second complaint is the maid service. They gave us a form that said towels would be changed every three days, that did not happen. The four day my daughter left her towel on the floor and they just hung it up. We had to go request new beach and bathing towels twice.
Overall it was a beautiful property and I would stay there again and recommend it to friends.

What I think could be helpful is a small cooler for each room because even though they have ice and water refill, they is no way to keep things cold. We used our ice tray from the fridge and then others started doing the same. There are no drinks to purchase at the hotel either pop or alcohol so it would be greatly helpful.

I can not say enough good things about the Coast Beachfront Hotel. The value was amazing. The breakfasts were delicious…the property was lovely. The location was perfect… close enough to town to be walkable… but not too noisy.
The best part was the staff… the nicest people in the universe!!!

Great property on the beach. A little pricey, but well worth it for the convenience, safety and amenities. The pool is small but very nice. It is not a huge hotel, and the vibe is really nice. We will be back!

This was a lovely well kept hotel on the outskirts of Tamarindo. The property is beautiful and right on a gorgeous beach, but with a shaded area with beach chairs. The hotel staff is especially friendly, the beach area is also staffed. The room was spacious and clean, with a fridge, stovetop and microwave. Breakfast is delivered to your room, which has a patio so you can eat inside or out. Bathroom huge and very clean. Highly recommend!

This hotel was excellent in every way. The room was super clean. The room we were in had a small little patio with a couple of chairs. The ocean literally a few feet from the hotel! The pool was clean and really never crowded. Short walk to all the amazing restaurants. The security was great as there was always someone watching what was going on at the property The security people super nice and we felt very safe. The best part of this property is the entire staff, from the front desk people to the housecleaning svc and the people delivering our breakfast each morning. We were greeted everyday by our names! They made an effort to really know who we were! We've never experienced that before. Dejan and Ruby were the best! They were so helpful and super nice. The Costa Rican people are some of the friendliest people we have ever met. We will definitely be back!

Perfect location for access to the lovely beach, local shopping and numerous dining options. The view from our patio was epic and the property is clean, well maintained and the staff was very friendly and happy to help in anyway.

OVERRATED

Except for the location and this place being quiet, this place is not worth more than 3 stars.
1st issue why this place can never get more than 3 stars is breakfast, you get choices of bread, yougurt, fruits, cereal and coffee to be delivered to your room at a set time, if that time slot is available, (S.O.L.)
There is no restaurant or other meals available.
There is no protein like meat or eggs as an option, the fruits i received were a couple over ripen bananas and 2 rotten apples which i took a pic of and showed the front desk, and they had nothing to say...
As we were getting ready to check out, they turned off the water without any warning ( no phone in the room either) so as i left my room to go notify the front desk, i saw 2 maintenance men and they advised me it will be turned back on in 10 more mins, so i told them this will delay my ontime checkout at 11am, so please notify the front desk, they said ok.
So per the RULES, you have to wash all the dishes you use in the room, so with us just finishing up breakfast @ 9:40, thats when the water was turned off. Now we have to still shower and clean up.
Guess what, @ 11:01am someone is knocking on the door to ad
vise me checkout is 11am. SMH !

The place was rated highly by previous reviews, that's why i booked, but it's overrated,.not worth the money to me.
