We really loved our stay at the Smyle Inn. The room was very clean and spacious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast on room service and really enjoyed the decor of memes and jokes on the walls. It is situated in an alleyway off a busy market street. This is great for experiencing the real Delhi hustle of life. However, it meant that it was very noisy all through the night. It quieted about 4-9am. This is not the fault of the Smyle Inn just a fact of their location. If you sleep well and can use earplugs we definitely recommend this hotel. If you are noise sensitive this may be the hotel for you.

Wish I had stayed somewhere else, it was a disappointment. Nothing horrible or unsafe, just rude staff and mediocre everything. The area is nice, though. The beds are comfortable enough. The water gets warm (not hot) and only lasts 5 min. THE WIFI DOES NOT WORK (at least in the building I was in). Breakfast was disappointing. I paid for a nicer room, and don’t feel like I really got anything by doing that. If you’re looking for something simple and don’t need wifi, this place will work. Wish I could have had a more pleasant last stay in India.

Best choice in Paharganj!!

Smyle inn was absolutely the best choice for my stay in Delhi. All employees are friendly kind and very helpful!! They tried their best at all times to fulfill all our needs and go beyond during our stay. They also provide extra services like car transfers to make your travel easier. Great location in the middle of the main bazaar road, 10 mins to the metro and train station. Rooms are large and okay to India standards. Seems to be the choice of many internationals. They have a lovely rooftop where breakfast is served every morning. Breakfast team is great!

My experience is worst as there is only a 5 feet road in front of hotel and there are poorly maintained public toilets in the beginning of the road which smells horrible.

Just do not engage with or otherwise encourage any touts or other solicitors who may approach you. Stayed in a very basic double room which was adequate but not luxurious.

Budget friendly gem in Paharganj

This place was a great deal for the price in Paharganj. It's India, so everything is worn in, but was clean and worked properly. If you're looking for value and proximity, this is the place. If it's your first time in India, I'd recommend getting a ride there, as it could be hard to find on your own (it's down an alley). Breakfast was small, but good, and usually consisted of juice, a dessert, some sort of fruit, and various toasts (just enough to get you to lunch). Staff was very attentive and friendly.

The hotel staff was great and the hotel was fine, the rooms are far smaller than they look with the shower over the top of the toilet. You have to ring reception and ask if they can make the shower hot and give it 10 minutes every time you use it and same goes for the air conditioning which was pointless as even when it was on the room was still boiling I’m 99% sure there air conditioning doesn’t work. Which an English man in India defo needed!!

This is not a four or five star hotel; it is, instead, a very inexpensive place to stay in beautiful Delhi, India. Part of it is a youth hostel and the rest is a regular hotel, and while there are no frills, it is exactly what they advertise: a place to shower, sleep, and relax after a day of sightseeing, for people who do not want to spend a fortune on accommodations. They have a beautiful rooftop terrace, they offer a free, basic breakfast daily, the rooms are air conditioned, and they have probably the MOST helpful hotel staff I have ever encountered. (Hey, Harish, they ALL deserve a raise - they are the best part of your establishment!) They also offer a professional who will book guided tours for you, extremely inexpensive ones, even on the same day. The tours were terrific, in a private, air conditioned car with driver. We were very pleased with our stay!

Overall OK and reasonable.

Personally, it was a nice stay for me at SmyleInn, despite the room provided me was not the room shown at the booking. The room which I was given is somewhat smaller and without chair inside it. Area is crowded, but I seriously enjoyed it as we go for traveling in other country to get different experiences in the aspects of societal and cultural. Specially Mr. Alam at reception is unlike many others, he is a good and genuine person with great hospitality. Hopefully, SmyleInn management will take a follow up actions to give customer requested room instead of what hotel needs to provide him/her, or unless the real room must be shown at the booking. But that was not a big issue for me as the room provided me was somewhat OK. All in all, I recommend SmyleInn for travelers without any hesitation.

good to get airport pick up although price when paying was 50% MORE than quoted. paid for executive room , got a room that they do not show photos of.
bathroom-you may need to ask staff to turn on gas so you can have hot water. So small you can have a shower while on the toilet.
many backpackers here so vibe is ok and cool. although there are places
much better for 5-10 MORE in this region .
tour desk on lev 3 is good, professional and trustworthy, he will book trains etc for a fee of 100rup.
breakfast is good, no choices just curry sauce and bread but taste was good

Pleasant Surprise

This was my last stop before I headed back home. I was out of all my money and this was the cheapest I could get. I thought that it would not be good, but to my surprise this was a gem of a place. Though there was very little social vibe, but other than that everything else was very good. The place was clean, the aircon worked well in the heat and the wifi was great too. The staff were above average and the location is in the middle of everything. I could buy loads of stuff from here on my way back. I recommend this place to anyone.

Worst Service ever, Hotel cancelled our booking and sold room to someone else without giving any reason. While booking we requested check around 11:30 PM (which hotel acknowledged). Upon arrival we were advised our booking has been canceled and there are no rooms available. We were left to find a different hotel to stay in the middle of the night. Hotel didn't even offer any assistance.

OK for the area, lift from airport no show.

Actually had a comfortable stay but a bad experience on arrival when the hotel's lift from the airport wasn't there. I asked for an explanation but no one ever gave me a clear answer so I still don't know why. As a result of the hotel not arriving for the lift we had a really really unpleasant arrival in Delhi, got lost on the streets after our taxi dropped us and only located the hotel thanks to the chance kindness of passers by. The hotel is located up a small smelly lane and noone knows where it is, so asking for directions doesn't work. If the hotel says it is going to provide a lift it should do so or at least explain why they fail. It was a very dismal way to arrive. Not impressed.

This Hotel at present is all about Location Location Location !!
Check in was typically Indian quick and painfree and met with a bottle of water.
The room had clean sheets on the humungous king bed which is a bonus in India but the room was filthy dirty, floors and bathroom covered in mould and massive infestation of mosquitoes in the bathroom drains which are certainly a few problems that need to be fixed immediately and then it would be a must stay hotel in the center of the action , also the hotel room was extremely quiet but with no external window which didn't bother me but might others!!
So a great place to stay at a reasonable price for Delhi with exceptional staff and once a few things are addressed.
Didnt not have breakfast on my two night stay so cant say if any good .
I would certainly stay again and am in a week on a fly thru in New Delhi for two nights

I stayed here twice during October. First time was two nights. It was good and the staff were very helpful and polite. The room was ok and a reasonable size and clean. The bathroom was a bit grim with loose taps and a cold shower. My second time coincided with Divali and i stayed two nights again. The room was very small and a tiny bathroom but the shower was hot this time. The staff were good again and arranged a taxi for me to the airport.

Staff switched off ac when I was sleeping. When I called him via room telephone, he said that ac tripped, without my telling him what my call was about. Later at the front desk, he told me that he thought I was out, that's why he had switched it off.

I took this hotel over a comparable hotel because of wired internet connection mentioned under its amenities. There was no wired internet port anywhere in the room.

Saw many budget conscious europeans and koreans. The area seemed safe.

Horrible stay. Staff was clearly not helpful. We reserve 2 days before and had to wait nearly 2hours to get a room. Room look much bigger on photos. There were rats outside, we cannot open the one and only window. There were dust everywhere ; cleaning very poor. It was a terrible stay. We run away before the time of check out.

I had a great stay! I had some local issues during my first scheduled stay and even though I never showed up the first night as a result, the manager took the time to email me and give me advice on this issue - you really cannot ask for anything more. The next time I came to Delhi I made sure to book here again as I felt I was in good hands and was not disappointed. Lovely hotel, clean room, helpful pleasant staff and the manager remembered me from our emails and was extremely accommodating. It's rare to find such a personal service in a huge city and I can I speak highly enough about this place.

Great budget hotel with great cust service!

It was a very good place to stay. We liked the room and the customer service was excellent. The hotel is right in the middle of the bazaar and hence all the shops are nearby... Clothes, crafts, bags,etc. There is also a doctor nearby, there is a medical store, Ayurvedic medicine shops. There is also a restaurant nearby and we ordered food for a night. The food was decent. Most of the days we had lunch/dinner at Connaught place which is ~7-10mts away. Beware of travelling by cycle rickshaw to Palika bazaar as they drop you off at the backside of the bazaar and you need to walk atleast 7-8mts from the drop-off point to the bazaar.
Overall we were very satisfied with our stay.

Hi all

I am here to do a review for the Smyle Inn hotel. I have stayed at this hotel tree weeks September last year while I was there for Dentistry work(having Implants).I requested to be picked up from the airport and they did, when arrived the hotel i been told that I won't be paying for the transport since I will be a guest for a three weeks it will be free.lovely. the room i was placed was a double room the was in a good condition and clean,. the staff have been amazing. Ali,Mohan,Jetandra and Anil. they been really good to me and very helpful. even when i wanted to go toa dressmaker, ali took me to one near the hotel , was honest and affordable. breakfast was included, however i missed most of it, as i would eat out, but the days that i couldnt sightsee and was in too much pain, they offered to deliver the breakfast to my room and also ordered food for me(lunch,dinner). i was quite scared at the thought of being in Delhi and in general in a foreing country specially with what you hear on the new, but the staff made me feel at home and looked out for me.

Expected more, but overall not terrible

With a 3.4/5 hotels.com rating and a 4/5 trip advisor rating, we were expecting a lot more. It is hard to find down a tiny road called \"slum alley\" and the entrance to the alley is flanked by two urinals. We ended up having to stay for additional nights when half of our family got ill so we got to know the staff pretty well and we ended up with some positives and negatives. The hotel is bare bones basic. There is no housekeeping, so you have to ask for toilet paper, towels, changing of towels, etc. The rooms are very noisy late into the night and early in the morning. Breakfast is average, but nice that it is offered. The worst part of breakfast was having to listen to a person hock up loogies to the point of gagging and then spit. We prayed this wasn't the cook. Wifi is good, but you only get a code good for 48 hours, which typically would only last 24 hours and then you'd have to ask for new codes. On the positive side, the staff is nice. They seemed genuinely concerned when we turned ill. There is a booking office that can assist with travel plans, which was helpful. The owner seemed like he wanted to help make our stay in Delhi a positive one. I would say that this hotel could be a great little gem in the middle of the bazaar with a few basic improvements. I would challenge the owner to stay at his own hotel for a week to see what is missing. It would take relatively little to see major improvements.

Great budget hotel at great location

The hotel is at a fantastic location, right by the main bazaar street and only a 5-10 minut walk from the New Delhi Train station and the (airport) metro. Maybe a little bit hard to find the first time, so come prepared.
The rooms are basic, a little worn down, but clean.
People complain about the size of the rooms-its a budget hotel in the middle of Delhi! The size is OK, if you need bigger pay extra for a better room.
The complimentary breakfast is a nice extra touch, even though it's nothing special.
If you need hot water, you need to ask the reception, it's not always on.

Nice but location could have been better

The hotel is clean inside and staff here are friendly and helpful. the only problem is location... There is is public toilet at the end of the street that kicks up a real stink and you have to walk past it every day to enter and exit the hotel.... Not so pleasant. Other than that it's right near New Delhi station off a busy market street. If you want to jump in and experience Delhi and all its glorious mayhem this is the place for you!! Clean, friendly, cheap and very local to a lot of New Delhi sights!

It's a budget hotel so don't have unrealistic expectations but it is clean. It's a short walk to New Delhi railway station and Connaught isn't too far either. The district is very alive and it's an experience to stay in it.

Harish nd staff v good. Std RM bath RM shower too tiny. No phone working. They had to shift to another RM which was bigger. They didn't charge extra for that and for my asst who came nd stayed later.

Ac working but little smell filled in RM when it got started. Bed linen appeared was not changed. Brkfst good but staff argued for omelet without yolk! Had to climb stairs to 4th floor on high risers.
Ent gully is filthy and smelly.

Pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and convenience of Smyle Inn. Will return. I like doing some shopping in the Pahar Ganj Bazaar before I fly out of India. The Nepalese restaurant immediately in front of the hotel is very good and open til 11pm.

Comfort & convenience in the middle of the bazaar

Very helpful introductory email that explained how to get the the hotel from the station. It is right in the middle of the Bazaar (and only around 1/2 km from the New Delhi station), which is fascinating for people watchers and knick-knack and more discerning shoppers. The staff were helpful and very pleasant and the room spacious, clean and neat ... and quiet, being along a small off-shoot from the main bazaar road. The hotel is also split into two parts that are close to each other ... moving from one to the other for breakfast (but this was no hassle). Though not the cheapest option, I feel it was good value for someone who likes some comforts but still on a budget. I'm happy to stay here again.

American here. Excellent hotel. The owner, Harish, arranged for airport pickup. The driver had a sign with our name waiting for us. The owner also arranged some personnel requests with ease for us. The breakfast is good and the service is great. Linkoo, a general staff is all smiles and helpful while the travel manager on the 4th floor helped us with many personnel travel requests. Very clean rooms and site. The hotel is in Delhi, so don't expect the surrounding area to be perfectly clean but rest assured it is in a perfectly safe and accessible area just 3 minutes walk to New Dehli rail station. We leave very happy and would return.
