It’s a wonderful property- or once was….needs a million dollar clean up and update…..Staff are wonderful and the restaurant and Rafters Bar are wonderful hangouts in the off season. Nice trails and location. Easy access to Alexandria and interesting check points all around.

The weirdest thing ever was the light switches were not at normal height. They were lower than normal. No fan or countertop in the bathroom. Room was small for a king size bed. Otherwise it was a comfortable stay.

Beautiful lake view! Watched loons flying by from the balcony. Carlos Lake state park with 14 miles of trails is just a 15 minute drive. Room and bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly.

We stayed here for the waterpark which was closed during our stay. We asked for our room to be upgraded due to this and we got the exact same room we reserved online. The pull out couch was disgusting, it had stains on the mattress. Expedia stated there was a full breakfast and that was not the case either. The restaurant and breakfast was also closed so all we had for breakfast was coffee and a muffin. The staff were very nice however our stay was disappointing.

Everything was terrible. Waterpark was closed. We didn't receive notification of closure. Staff and Manager were rude and dismissive. Room and pool area are very run down. We saw 2 other people at hotel..no wonder everything was disgusting..will tell everyone we know about our awful experiences. Google site said water park was open..false advertisement

The room was clean & staff were cordial. It seemed like they were a bit short staffed, and the lifeguards at the water park weren’t always paying close attention. I did appreciate the activities for kids on the weekend. No continental breakfast was a bit of a bummer, but we knew ahead.

There were pipes leaking sewage onto the foolr under the sink READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING!!! The entire hotel was empty and this woman give us a room down a literal maze of hallways with a ancient dirty air filter in the top of a hallway trash can where it stayed all night. I thought after reading the reviews ah just give it a try walked into a pretty nice entry from there every recent review i read made more and more sense.

1. The microwave in our room did not work. The staff at the waterpark was not friendly at all, life gaurds were not watching the swimmers. Water had to much chlorine and kids vroke our in a rash. We reported it to the waterpark staff and they said it was just our sensative skin.

Lovely stay at the waterpark - it was low key - and just what we needed - we loved the convieniece of the hotel to the water park. The indoor pool in the actual hotel was under construction, so we got free passes to the water park - which was great! If your looking for something super fancy - go elsewhere; but if you are looking for a great time thats super low key, this is just the place!

We were told that even though our room was ready, we couldn’t check in unless we paid $25. The pool was broke and the jets in the hot tub didn’t work so they waved the $25 fee to use the water park (which should be included with your stay regardless)The Waterpark wasn’t kept up at all. Paint chipped out of the pool floors, rust and mildew built up on the lazy River walls pool walls, no staff maintaining the water slides so you had no idea if you would run someone over on the slide. It was disgusting. I think the jets in the lazy river were also not working since it was the slowest last river since you didn’t move . The hot tub had a huge sign NO ONE UNDER 12 even with a parent but that didn’t stop parents for allowing their 5 year olds in the hot tub to splash around like it was their bath tub. The staff was constantly running out of towels, I had to result in using the hand dryer in the bathroom. Glad we weren’t charged the $25 fee for the Waterpark because it wasn’t worth it. The room was spacious but the AC unit was inconsistent both nights. We went from freezing to getting over heated. The shower temperature was also I consistent and the bathroom vent was very dirty. The hair dryer that was attached to the wall felt like a death trap but luckily there was another hair dryer. I am sure this was a lovely hotel and resort 20 years ago in its prime but desperately needs to be updated.

Property needs a makeover. Rooms and hallway smelt of old cigarettes. Wallpaper needs to be taken down and walls need a fresh coat of paint. That would make this property look and smell a lot better. If you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. You can hear other room’s air conditioners running which is very loud.

If you go end of September bring an extra blanket for sleeping. They have a boiler system so they can either have air or heat but not both. Since the weather has been in the 80s they still have the air on, which makes sense. However, the nights gets cold so I froze sleeping. An extra blanket would have been perfect.

We had a wedding near by and half of the wedding party reserved rooms at Arrowwood. 11 days before our check in, we found out that they canceled all but two of our rooms, and that included the bride and grooms room. We would not have know if one of the brides maids hadn't check on what time we could check in. When we were checking in we found out my uncles room was not an ADA room like it should have been. The rooms looked clean but they were damp and smelt musty.
Some of our party had very damp carpets and rusty mattress on the pull out bed. The staff at the check in counter were rude and talked about how difficult we were being not realizing some of our wedding party heard them as they were walking in.
Was very disappointed that they did not have a complimentary breakfast. They have a restaurant but was a little too spendy to eat there for three days.
This place is very outdated, and musty.
The showers had no hot water which was frustrating.

The only good experience we had was the bartender on Thursday, his name was Ryan and was very accommodating and was outstanding that night.

The property was very dated and not clean. the dirt on the doors leading into and in our room was very visible and had been there for a long time. luckily, i had clorox wipes which were black just from the door alone. All surfaces produced dirt after wiping down, particularly the air conditioner which had likely never been wiped down. the room was very musty and smelled of a space that had been closed for a long time. the wallpaper was peeling in the room, the windows were filthy in our room, as well as common areas. The hot tub was not functional the first night and the water was actually green, so we went over to the pool and the grout was filthy. Very disappointing, because I had thought this was supposed to be a great property. It was quite outdated, run down and overall not clean.

Last night at dinner, first, we did not get acknowledged by our server for close to 10 minutes. Next, we ordered and it took over 45 minutes to get my food, when all I ordered was flatbread pizza. We didn’t get the beverages we ordered until right before my food came. My husband got their special, the stir fry and he was long done eating before his beverage and my food came.

Then at breakfast this morning, all they had was a cheap hotel that would be free elsewhere, but cost us 18.95 each. And the eggs and potatoes were barely warm. Basically, my yogurt parfait and very small bowl of cereal was over $18.

Place was fairly clean, but beds were not good. They need new mattresses and/or better quality.

Needless to say, we were quite disappointed. Had heard great things about the property, but did not have that experience

Sadly, this once beautiful property, has gone downhill significantly. We requested and were allowed to switch rooms due to the loud banging sound coming from the heat/air unit that seemed original to the property. We ate on site for most meals, but staffing seemed to be a significant issue due to a lot of confusion, wrong drinks, and the wrong bill coming to our table. A few times, the wait staff was actually running through the restaurant and it wasn’t even very busy. The pool area was nice for the littles, but the large slides and lazy river have seen better days. The outside garbages did not get emptied during our stay causing garbage to be laying on the ground. I hope this property can make a comeback, but they have a lot of work to do on many ends.

The place is absolutely filthy and rundown. I cannot believe that they continue to hold conferences and businesses would put their employees in this place.

The room was ok but outdated. The beds were comfortable so they must have been replaced which was nice. The air conditioning was set to hot and it was freezing we had to turn it off because it only blew ice cold air. We thought it would be good to open the screen door to warm up the room and the screen was completely ripped at the bottom and the side. There were 2 plastic outdoor chairs on the balcony, one was broken. We asked the front desk if we could get 4 ( room was for 4 of us) and have the broken one removed. We left the property to come back to our hall door ajar/ unlocked and 3 chairs on the balcony. Front desk staff were nice so we didn’t complain at the time but realized the stay was not worth what we paid.

All of the outdoor chairs by the pool, lake and on our patio are cheap and dirty. Most chairs are broken. Would love to see this place revived with a fresh new look.

We really enjoyed all of the options for activities, beach and being right on the lake. But the property itself really needs some updates. The plaster and tile in the pool, hot tub, water park are all coming off. I was worried my kids would cut their feet while in them. There were rakes & cut thorn bushes laying by the playground all weekend - which was not safe for children. The lights went out while we were in the pool - scared kids. Fire alarm went off multiple times. All outside doors were locked needing your room key access - but multiple didn’t work so needing to walk farther to the next door with little children & full arms wasn’t convenient. The food at the pool/lakeside “restaurant” was basic deep fried but $20+ per plate and very slow to come out (1 person at a time) so that wasn’t worth it with little children. We did enjoy it due to location & activity options but concerns all around.
