The staff here were so lovely and so polite and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay . We were out most of the day but we would come back to a clean bed and towels every day and emptied bin and lots of products . We never had to ask for anything except for an iron and iron table and tget gave it us immediately and it was mini and so easy to use . I would definitely stay at Best Hotel Shinjuku again. It was perfect for our stay in Tokyo . Thank you to all the wonderful staff there who also made us laugh and we were very happy .

It was one was the best hotel experiences I’d say. The staffs were super friendly and polite and beyond helpful. The property itself is very minimal and simple but you can expect highest cleanliness with the facilities in the room.
Me and my husband had such great time staying with them. The area is within a Korean community but it is easy to commute to Shinjuku surroundings. With such good price and decent space hotel room we will definitely be returning for our next Tokyo trip!! Merci & 謝謝😇🌸

This hotel is very old with wall papers pilled off. The carpet is a bit smelly, although the rest of the room seemed clean. It was a tourist trap that I paid almost 3x the price per night compared to other good hotels around it, which are at most 8500 yen (around $60 USD) per night, with newer room and much more amenities. The room I was in didn’t even have hooks to hang face towels. The tiny closet around 25 inches in width only has seen clothe hangers. The bathroom sink, separated for the bathroom, is right in front of the bed. The fridge is at least 30 years old, almost useless. The room smells strong musty odor of cigarettes, even it is a non-smoking room. The windows of aluminum frames are very dirty.

It is not a typically safe area. You have to give your key to the receptionist before going out every time. It took me a long time to realize why, but the hotel is trying to prevent illicit sex activities around the area. This hotel is not for families! Period!

It was a tourist trap, and I am surprised that Expedia has such low quality hotels listed with frankly ripped off price.

I give it one star mainly the receptionists are friendly.

This is the traditional style of Japanese hotel, beds on the floor but very comfortable. One end of the street was very busy, crowded and a bit risky/ not safe at nights but the opposite end towards the train station is nice and with restaurants and convenience stores.

It's near the Yamanote Line, which is great for getting to some interesting neighbourhoods (Shinjuku, Harajuku, and Tokyo Station). There's nice space within the room. The room can be cold at night as the window allows the cold air to seep through. The pressure of the bath hose feels great.

This hotel was the bare minimum when it comes a good nights sleep. The beds were much firmer than I prefer. The location was okay, kind of down a small alley/street but close to lots of bars and restaurants. The staff was very pleasnat so that made it worth considering if you are not going to be spending much time in the room.

More like a homely setting with spacious room and separate dry/wet toilets in a small building. Only complaint is if you got the lower floors like I did, the noise upstairs can be annoying if it lasts till very late.

They do sell buffet breakfast vouchers for a nearby cafe but didn't get a chance to try it. Lots of dining options in the nearby streets, mostly Korean food. Do note that the servers speak minimum English and some do not have English menus too.

Staff was very friendly and spoke good English. There is elevetor to each floor. Room is tiny but it's common in Tokyo. It's located in a relatively quiet neighborhood next to Korea Town so not noisy but one night it was very windy I could clearly hear wind all night. Walking to Shinjuku main staton took around 15 min. There are a lot of restaurants nearby.

We were able to keep our luggage at the front desk for a day and night when we traveled to Hakone free of charge which was great.

This hotel is great if you wish for a functional and convenient hotel without blowing your budget. Room is clean and big enough for 2 without feeling claustrophobic. Staff are polite and the older man is particularly helpful. Hotel is 3-4min walk from Shin Okubo, which is conveniently on the JR Yamanote line, otherwise it's about 7-8 minutes to one of the Shinjuku stations and probably around 12 minutes to the main Shinjuku train station. There's a large Don Quixote around the corner, which is great for snacks and gifts as well as being in the middle of Koreatown, which has an abundance of street snack stalls.

Closest stations are Shin-Okubo on the JR Yamanote or bit further of a walk Higashi-Shinjuku for the Tokyo Metro. This is a simple hotel with a friendly English speaking staff. The hotel is in the Korean neighborhood and has many eating places nearby. Our two twin room had a very large bathroom. Huge really by Japanese standards. Would stay again just for the bathroom.

The hotel is 5 to 10 min walk from the shin-okubu station. From Shinjuku station, take Yamanote line, only 1 station north. Staff speak limited English. Room is quite spacious. It is clean and quiet. There is only 1 tiny coffee table, no desk, so no space to leave personal items. Very inconvenient.

Good location, basic and close to train station. Wifi was good. Room was clean and spacious but mattress was too thin/ firm for comfort. TV turns off by itself after a short amount of time. Bathroom arrangement was small and it would be difficult for a larger person to sit on the toilet as my knees were close to the wall (they would have to sit sideways and possibly also with the door open). No key cards, only actual key so you have to remember to turn off lights before leaving the room. Elevator was small but fast. I could hear the crow sounding off easily as there was a small hole in the window. During my stay I found the room in the fourth floor to be quiet and was not disturbed by street noise or others in different rooms.

Fabulous central area to the main Shinjuku area and subway is around the corner. Its Korean town so fantastic food is around the corner - we did a korean bbq. This hotel is very safe they take your key from you when you leave to see the sights there is always someone on reception - very friendly - We received a lovely japanese beautiful paper book from one of the reception men very kind. The hotel is cleaned each day when you leave your room - they are very clean rooms and exceptionally big for japan standards. Separate toilet to bathroom and big. Its not the Hilton but very very good value for money.. and a 8 minute walk to 10 into shinjuku - 4 min walk to the back train station of korea town to get into Harajuku - Shibuya etc etc. Highly recommend this hotel for this price.. The hotel is at 3min walking to a metro station that is in the Yamanote Line, and 15min from Shinjuku center, so very convenient. The rooms are Japanese size, not big (not that small either), but have everything needed for a good stay and are cleaned daily.

Room was small but it was clean and had complete toiletries. The toilet is not in the same room as the bathroom which has a deep tub and typical Asian shower.
The hotel is easily accessable from the Yamanote line station Shin-Okubi. Shinjuku station is about 20 minutes walked.
The staffs are friendly and helpful. We stored our luggages in the hotel when we went to Kawaguchiko to see Mt Fuji for 2 days trip.
There are a lot of restaurants, convenient stores e.g 7/11, Family Mart and Supermarket, all kinds of other stores.
Recommend this hotel for the price, location and helpful staffs.

We were looking for an accommodation that offers a better price/value deal than the usual Tokyo fare, yet be located near the action.
„Best hotel“ doesn’t offer the biggest rooms but is, in our opinion, a good step above the average fare (when paying what you pay for here). The rooms match the pictures that they posted, a/c, fridge etc are there and working and it was absolutely (!) clean. Okay, almost all places in Japan are. Anyway. We would definitely stay again.

It's relative near to Shinjuku Station, in The Korean town. The staff at the reception was really nice. After asking for some Japanese phrases, the mister even wrote some basic Japanese phrases with the translation.

The staffs were friendly but I wouldn’t go back to this hotel. The room was a bit different from the picture. The futons were thinner than expected. The beddings weren’t clean and had hair pieces on it. The room had no air circulation and when we opened the window for some air, there was the ac generator right there which created so much heat and bad air. The shower was alright since water came out well. The room had a dampy smell that was very weird. Overall, the staffs were friendly but I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Great find in Shinjuku!

We had a great stay at Best Hotel! The twin bed room we had was very spacious, a nice change from all the small Japanese hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Everything was very clean. Super friendly staff at the reception, which seemed to be manned 24hrs. The neighborhood is quiet, but the busy areas of Shinjuku is just a short walk away. Less than 5 minutes to the Shin Okubo station (Yamamote Line).

Middle of the road Western Style Hotel

The staff was very nice and polite. Everything else was middle of the road. Nothing to amazing, but also nothing to bad. The 4 person room was perfect for our group to spread out in. We mainly used the hotel as a place to crash at the end of the day. It's proximity to the train made it very easy to get out moving, and get back to at the end of the day.
