\"Ocean view\" meant if you stood outside and turned to the side, you'd have it. Definitely NOT the rave given by other reviews, in fact I probably wouldn't stay here again, there are just too many other choices. Why? HELLA uncomfortable bed-creaky, thin, just the one bed you dont want when in a hotel. I slept poorly. Patio blinds were one giant vertical shade, meaning it was all or nothing-no side to side 3/4 shut for star gazing, they had to be shut or all of HWY 101 was peaking your room at night. (This would be totally solved with horizontal shades?). Hair in the shower curtain, plastic rings, no remote or on/off switch for the fireplace, all kind of weird for the price point. There is a breakfast but its muffins and microwave burritos (you unwrap and heat yourselves). That was nice enough. We like to try different stays when on the central coast, this one just didn't fare well.

We check in for four nights. Room 17 was very smelly so we insisted on another. We got room 11 for one night but, as they were full, we needed to move out on day two. We found out the person in room 5 was checking out early so we asked for that room. It turned out the reason that person was leaving early was because there was no hot water in the room. The plumber was ordering a part so 5 was out. We reluctantly retired to room 17 which had been ionized and recleaned. We stayed three nights there. We found many ants crawling through the bathroom and kitchenette. The king bed has a large crack in the frame causing the one side of the bed to flex when you sit or lay down.
There were no instructions to turn on the heat (fireplace). No thermostats just a timer. This meant arising twice in the night to turn the heat back on.
All this sounds bad but the nice staff and water views made up for most faults.
The lobby is open only during the day so no common space to sit.
We won’t be going back but it is a coastal inn so I guess we may have expected too much.

Unit #5 is in an older building (1940s, with a severely uneven floor in the kitchen area--like walking on a ship) and is a 1 bedroom with a living/dining/kitchenette and a slider to a grassy area overlooking the ocean. Nice firm bed. Complimentary continental breakfast, which we skipped for other plans; in-room coffee, which we did not skip). Baseboard/wall heaters. The unit had some maintenance/housekeeping issues (which we notified the management on our departure): severely leaking kitchenette faucet; dirty window sills/tracks and slider track. Slider lock does not work (piece of wood in slider track holds it closed). Some missing window/slider screens, and some of the window latches don't work/open. Funky wi-fi situation (Windows laptop could not connect; iPhone could). Property is within walking distance of the best restaurant in town (Tidal Raves, and you better have reservations on a Friday night!). Just a short walk away from a public-access viewing area on the ocean bluff and just north of the center of Depoe Bay. Just a great location. Could be world-class with some attention to details--the price would warrant that attention.

It was my second time staying. It is an Inn and every kind I've been to has corky charm like B&B's do. If you like beautiful views and having an included mini breakfast buffet, what is there not to like?

The whole experience was great from check in to check out. It was Valentines Day when we checked in and they had 2 wine glasses with two small bottles of sparkling cider with Valentines napkins and hearts and a card. The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast is not your normal continental breakfast. The bed was comfortable and I loved that they had a little sitting area with soft blankets so you curl up while you watch the waves crash on the rocks. The view is just amazing. We definitely recommend this establishment! I know we will be back!

Beautiful View! Friendly Staff. I would recommend booking directly through the hotel and not Expedia. The room photos are not good representations of the actual room. We booked this room based on the corner window seat for our daughter. This was NOT correct pictures for this room. The front desk manager was awesome and showed us the other rooms that matched the photos so we could book them in the future. Expedia listing was misleading but thats an expedia issue not the properties fault. The property, experience and staff were amazing and we will book again, from the property directly next time.

The location of the property is excellent. We saw multiple whale from our hotel room windows. Great restaurants close by.The only negative was the internet. It worked fine the first couple of days but not at all after that. We had accessed our Netflix account and were in the middle of a movie and couldn't finish it. We couldn't even sign out of our Netflix account on that TV. We reported the problem several times but basically had no Internet for 3 days.

The view from this property is unbeatable! Wow! We had an up close view of the entire Depoe Bay. It would have been a great place to sit on the balcony and watch for whales in the bay, but the weather was super rainy and windy while we were there. If I didn’t have an injured foot, we could have walked to restaurants for dinner. The location was very convenient to town. The property itself is a bit dated but was clean.

We will return. Perfect for wife and I for a quick getaway weekend. An opportunity to silence everyday life. We stayed in room 10, the \"panoramic view\" room. It was perfect. Views are breathtaking. Staff got us checked in about an hour early. Breakfast was pretty good for a smaller \"continental\" breakfast. We love that we could sleep with the window open and hear the waves crashing up against the cliffs. The property and building shows its age, lots of little touch-ups that could be done to hide its age, but overall, very cute, very quiet, perfect place to stay in Depot Bay. WE WILL BE BACK!

Amazing location. We were an hour early for check in and the front desk gentleman was extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed in Room 8 and as soon as we walked in, the view was like a dream. Gorgeous overlook of Depoe Bay. The room had anything we needed, a small kitchen, binoculars, and a comfy bed. Perfect spot for walking to the main shops or a peaceful overlook. The complimentary breakfast was perfect before heading out to whale watch.

If you can sleep anywhere, you’ll love it.
Quaint, older motel with awesome views, but if you are seeking a good night’s sleep, hard pass. Older construction makes conversations next door or up stairs easy to hear. Road noise from HWY 101 drowns out the ocean waves. Ambient light floods the room after dark, even with the blackout blinds pulled, and the green blinking light from the smoke detector, well, that’s a special feature.
On the positive side, easy walk to Depoe Bay businesses and restaurants. Beautiful private beach, large rooms, and simple breakfast included. Note: steep ladder/steps to the private beach is not for the frail, young children, or those bothered by heights. It is worth the climb.

Completely run down. Shag carpet very old and had many stains. Television did not work. How it got a 4+ rating is a mystery! Hotels.com should do a better job vetting these properties.

My family of 3 stayed in a spacious 2nd floor room with lofted ceilings and view of ocean. Beds were very comfortable, breakfast was good with many options, and you can walk to town. We enjoyed the private beach especially at low tide, and just up the road there is path to rocks where you can watch whales and the sun set over the Pacific. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Depoe Bay!
