There is no place like the Santa Maria. The history is very impactful and the ground are gorgeous. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hike up to the basaltico in the evening was stunning. We started mid-werk in February and things were pretty quiet. The food in the restaurant was pretty good, but not great. The guac was the highlight. The hamburger was a strange interpretation of a burger. We stayed in the newer rooms and it was quiet and clean. The wifi actually worked better than expected. We watched the Mask of Zorro that night so we could see the property in the movies. Although they added extra blankets to the bed, there was no heat and it was a little cold in our room. My only suggestion would be to add portable space heaters to the rooms for the off season.

The place is absolutely beautiful. I read the description and so I made the reservation. Once I made it, they sent out a notification that the hotel is not accessible for people with limited mobility. It also said there’s no WiFi and TV with the argument that they promote rest. Well, that’s a good idea but I felt they imposed that. I needed to catch up with work but I couldn’t do anything since the place is remote and my data didn’t even work. It’s expensive and it not worth the money. I will never be back in this hotel even though the staff were kind and help me with my mom and her limited mobility.

My stay at Hacienda Santa Maria Regla in Huasca was largely pleasant, earning a 4-out-of-5 rating. The location is breathtaking, with historic stone buildings, a charming tower, and a red-domed structure set against lush greenery and a tranquil lake. The vibrant flowers and scenic views of the surrounding hills make it an ideal spot for a peaceful retreat.
However, there were notable issues. Remodeling outside my room brought constant noise and loud music, drowning out the natural sounds of birds and the river I’d hoped to enjoy. The restaurant was the biggest letdown—service was extremely slow, with waits often exceeding 30 minutes. I ordered pancakes one morning, and they arrived without honey; by the time the honey came, the pancakes were cold. Another day, I requested fruit, but they didn’t have any, as it had to come from Pachuca—only 15 minutes away. The food was also overpriced, costing about double what I’d pay at nearby restaurants outside the hotel.
Additionally, there was no assistance with bags during check-in or check-out, a small but noticeable oversight. Despite these flaws, the hacienda’s stunning setting made the stay worthwhile. I’d recommend it for the views, but be prepared for slow service and potential noise disruptions.

Hacienda SMR was a truly delightful experience. The grounds are unique and amazing. I spent hours walking to the waterfall and through the historic buildings. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. Highly recommended!

I actually give this Hacienda a 5 star rating. Luckily we went prepared for everything: had clothes for warm/cold weather, items to keep us entertained since no wi-fi in rooms and most important hiking shoes. This is the biggest and best hacienda I have visited - ever! Amazing and adventurous roaming is a must.

The views and architecture are amazing. But the facilities are poor. There is no AC, no cell reception. Our room was not very clean (we found a dirty facemask on our bed). The bathroom did not flush properly.
However the staff was very friendly and they offered a very cool tour of the place.

Beautiful Ex- Hacienda located in a very quite area near Huasca de Ocampo downtown (approx. 7kms). Facilities are amazing as it revives the hacienda with a medieval touch from XVIII century. Truly recommend to spend a couple of days for relaxing an enjoy this beautiful property.

Nice stay and beautiful buildings and scenarios

It is a nice place, the old authentic mining hacienda, the scenarios, and the rooom we had is practically new or recently renovated, with friendly service.
Our problem was that the signal for the cell phone is very weak, and also the free wifi is very weak.
The visit to the silver refining buildings is free with a guide, and it is a very interesting place in the history of Mexico and the relations with Spain.

This was such a disappointment. Let me start with the positives: the room was clean, and the beds were comfortable and warm. That's it. The furniture in the room had large stains, there was no television and no internet connection. And the worst: there was a terrible, fetid smell from the bathroom which carried over into the sleeping area. A very unpleasant night.

On arrival early evening in heavy fog through an unmade dark road, we found there was no record of our reservation. After 20 minute's frentic phone calls, they put us in an unnumbered, unfinished and freezing cold room with no curtains. A bed had to be brought in later. The bathroom ceiling leaked. Despite free wifi claim, no Internet was available anywhere in the hotel. We booked a Christmas meal starting at 8. It was in a very cold room. Even with coats and gloves, it was freezing. No food was available until 10 pm. When it arrived, it was cold. People in reception were helpful but the breakfast staff were very inefficient. Took half an hour to give our order. My son received his food after 45 minutes, my husband after an hour. When mine did not arrive after an hour, I left the restaurant, leaving the rest of my family to pay theirs. Overall, it was not a good place to stay but the location next to Prizmas and the natural beauty of the place were outstanding. I hope they get their act together soon. Such a fantastic place, such poor organisation.

Das Zimmer war makellos. Sehr geräumig, das Bett groß und eine gute Matratze.
Das Bad sauber mit heißem Wasser.
Sehr gutes Restaurant mit nettem Personal, auch das Personal rund um die Anlage war aufmerksam.
Der eine Stern Abzug ist für die Rezeptionistin. Wir kamen schon um 12 Uhr, scheinbar die einzigen Gäste und durften trotzdem erst um 15 Uhr das Zimmer beziehen.
Die Hacienda hat zum Glück viel zu bieten, so dass wir die Zeit herumspaziert sind und die riesige, abenteuerliche Anlage aus dem 18Jhr erkundet haben.

La habitación estaba bien pero el agua del lavabo y la regadera tenian color y no olia bien.

Por otro lado. La comida del restaurante es muy rica pero el servicio es pesimo. Las meseras no estan atentas y no dan buena atención.

Deberian de tener servicio exclusivo para el personal que decide hospedarse en la hacienda. Ya que el servicio no es bueno para los huespedes ya que dan prioridad (o por lo menos trato indifetente al personal que solo va a comer) eso no me agradó.

Considero que resta al lugar el hevhonque permitan que la gente entre a la gacienda con cerveza en mano. Es desagradable para quienes buscamos ir un fin de semana a relajarnos a ese lugar y ver hente alcolizada paseandose con cerveza en mano. Deberia. De restringir la entrada con bebidas alcohólicas o bien, designar una área para ello.

Al llegar enrecepcion no tenían registro alguno de que había reservado a través de EXPEDÍA, pero se resolvió.
El servicio en restaurante es bastante lento, además de no haber servicio de bar en la alberca.
La entrada al atractivo de prismas basálticos está a 5min en auto, pero fuera de esto no hay nada más de interés al rededor. El pueblo mágico de la Huasca está a 20min en auto.

Las ruinas de la hacienda (iglesia, túneles, mazmorras) bastante atractivas y de interés histórico; las vistas son espectaculares.

El lugar en general es muy bonito y con mucha historia, para desconectarse un fin de semana, el desayuno no fue gratuito, el camino para llegar es oscuro y empedrado, si tiene estacionamiento, la habitacion es comoda, yo pedi una suite vintage, no habia servicio de botones tuvimos que cargar nuestro equipaje por los patios de la hacienda porque son empedrados no puede rodar tu maleta , en servicio le doy un 8 , el lugar es bello

El servio del personal en general es malo. Llegamos estaba lloviendo y nadie nos dio un paraguas, llegamos a la recepción preguntando porque apesar de haber personas son poco atentas, en la recepción la señorita nisiquiera se paro solo nos dijo esta al fondo su habitación, no hay botones entoces tu tienes que cargar tus maletas hasta tu habitación, si llegas tarde esta oscuro y puedes caerte, porque esta empedrado. En el restaurante el mesero esta en su celular y tienes que ir a buscarlo. La guía muy amable, respondió todas nuestras preguntas

Es un lugar lleno de historia y agradable para estar; la propiedad es enorme y muy bien conservada. Hay algunos detalles que no me gustaron pero se pueden arreglar facilmente.
El restaurante tiene horarios muy cerrados pero la zona en general también tiene los mismos horarios; aunque no es problema del hotel, no hay servicio de telefonía celular y el internet wifi en la propiedad es muy inestable. El cafe en las habitaciones es muy malo y en el restaurante también. Puntos positivos: la comida es muy rica y las porciones muy buenas, los precios promedio. El personal es muy discreto, amables y profesionales en todo lo que hacen. Las areas muy bien cuidadas y seguras. No me gustó que no tenga suficientes areas para descansar dentro y fuera de las habitaciones que no sea las jardineras, restaurante o algunos columpios. Hay una zona debajo de los jardines que les falta iluminación y descripción de los ambientes; supe que se usa para filmaciones de películas pero si no lo sabes, puedes pensar que es un ambiente de culto oscuro. Por cierto, esta area es muy interesante. Sin duda volveré como visitante y disfrutar de toda la propiedad, cómo huésped fué una experiencia agradable.

Hotel de 3 estrellas cuando mucho.

El restaurante cerraba a las 7:30 pm en jueves y 8:30 pm en fines de semana; muy temprano para cenar.
Si no quieres padecer sed, debes llevar suficiente agua, ya que en las habitaciones solo hay una botellita de menos de un cuarto de litro por persona, y no había botellas en el restaurante.
Las sillas de mi cuarto eran incomodas, y no había manera de sentarse más que en el restaurante.
No llevan un buen control de la habitación en recepción (dijeron que mi habitación estaba vacía y yo la ocupaba) porque están más preocupados por las cuotas de los visitantes que no se hospedan ahí, ¡y hasta cometen groserías!
El personal del restaurante es muy amable, pero los alimentos no son buenos.
Lo que vale la pena: los jardines son bellísimos y el paisaje vale la pena. La parte histórica es impresionante.
Los precios de las habitaciones son altos porque no hay calidad. Recomiendo ir como turista a conocerlo y hospedarse en otra parte.
