We had a lovely stay at this hotel in St Julian's, close to St George's Bay. Its location is ideal – near plenty of restaurants, shops, and amenities, yet far enough from the main party areas to avoid late-night noise and disturbances.

There is some ongoing construction work in the local area, which can cause occasional noise and minor travel disruption, although this is outside the hotel's control.

The pools and lido area are excellent and were a highlight of our stay. However, these facilities are also accessible to non-residents, and access did not appear to be actively monitored, which sometimes made them feel busier than expected.

Overall, while the hotel offers good facilities, service, and a convenient location, it feels more like a strong 4-star property than a true 5-star hotel. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning.

The hotel is beautiful and has a great style, it is a bit dated but it was clear that they are upgrading the rooms. We had a junior suite, which was spacious, with a comfy bed however the bathroom was very dated, you could smell mould and the drains, which was pretty bad. The room was clean, we experienced good service, breakfast buffet was also nice. Great selection of pools and restaurants in the area. One bug downside was the amount of construction around the hotel, the noise and the dust. However we enjoyed our time.

Fantastic hotel in a wonderful setting. First class staff in every department- nothing was too much trouble. The restaurants on site are outstanding- The Caviar and Bull and Terragon by Sole are wonderful with high end dining and eating on the terrace is very special. The Spa is equally good. No negatives at all- a wonderful hotel and a wonderful stay. The staff at the poolside Oasis work tirelessy all day in the sun with a smile on their faces. Very good breakfast and plenty of tables in and outdoor. 4 or 5 pools to suit all ages.Excellent and we will definitely return.

The staff were really pleasant and helpful.
The rooms although tired were very clean and were cleaned almost every day.
The hotel has a great relaxing atmosphere which I really enjoyed and having service round the pool was another plus.
The breakfast had loads of different options and staff could not be more inviting.
The amount of different restaurants in the hotel was also a plus.
All in all I would book this hotel again

They were incredibly friendly at the hotel and provided great service. The downside was that the air conditioning was very noisy, so it couldn’t be used during the night. The key cards were easily demagnetized, so they often didn’t work.

A great hotel at the St. George Bay. Wonderful pool and spa area, great restaurants, rooms and a fantastic breakfast on the terasse. It is around 5 walking minutes from party area of St. George Bay and the shops but calm. Presently are some constructions under was in the area but they have never disturbed. The Hip on and Hip off buses stop just next to the hotel. A great place to relax.

The food was good especially the buffet on Saturday night. The highlight of it was the pasta and the staff providing it. Also the roast table, it was good too.
The construction work was a major negative. we had no idea before booking that a major new facility was going up within a few yds of the hotel. Again the bar staff were very good at the buffet.

Stayed five nights with family whilst attending a wedding.

Ronaldo was great at check-in and most helpful.

Rooms are spacious and well equipped with iron, hair dryer, slippers and robes.

Restaurant offers great choice of food and drink with plenty of staff available to serve and clear up.

Had a sea view room with view of pools and then bay.

Overall can fault the hotel. Just a shame about all the building works in the vicinity but otherwise an enjoyable stay.

May have had a slightly conscientious room maid for our son's room who seemed to have thrown away a bottle cap for one of his creams and plastic sleeves for a couple of his clothing items, but otherwise rooms were cleaned well.

Ideally situated hotel overlooking the bay and the sea. Beautiful view from our suite. Lovely facilities and friendly staff who made my son's birthday special.
I cannot thank the staff at breakfast enough for the fuss they made of him on the last day.
The only negative is that we weren't blessed with the best weather but we are already looking at booking again.

No provision of potable drinking water which is essential at leat 1litre a day. We're 3.
Entry cards often didn't work.
Small balcony with rain developed puddle.

Offered a larger room at check in which was nice and spacious for our needs. Front desk called an hour later to make sure we had everything we needed. There is a decent room service menu and a few restaurant choices close by. As of Mar 2026 there is quite a bit of new construction going on so it may get quite busy. Concierge was helpful to give tips for day trip to Gozo. Didn’t use the outdoor pool in March but facilities look lovely.

This property is dealing with massive construction next door and are bending over backwards to help guests. Getting to the property by car is nearly impossible when the road is closed due to the new building going up next door. Breakfast was awesome, room was clean and staff were amazing!

I had a really good experience at the hotel. The staff at the reception were very good at check in and other Miscellaneous services. Rachael arrange the birthday cake, my following up relentlessly and ensuring that the details were were right and the cake will be delivered on the right day. Ashutosh was an absolute star as he ensured that my wife’s birthday celebrations and the cake were handed to me promptly. He was courteous And efficient in dealing with me during check out. Oumaima was very efficient too in arranging room service food for me from the reception. Thanks for making our stay a great one! Kudos to all the staff. Manjil was quite good too in providing a very good cappuccino.

Booked as a VIP Access stay, but there was nothing VIP about it. I was supposed to get a bottle of wine on arrival which I never received.

Housekeeping was minimal. Water and toiletries were not replaced and were described as “arrival only”, despite paying for each night. Basic hospitality was lacking throughout the stay.

At breakfast, while I was still eating and close to finishing, I was asked to move tables and carry my plates because the service time was over, even though other guests were still seated. No grace period and no courtesy. I left breakfast feeling rushed and uncomfortable. The breakfast itself was barely edible.

Food service was very poor. I waited one hour for a sandwich that never arrived. Later, the restaurant staff refused to give me salt and I had to involve a duty manager just to get something basic. What kind of hotel refuses salt?

I raised these issues with the managers but they issues kept building up so I emailed guest relations, the emailed me back asking me to a see a duty manager when I return but I knew I had already talked to them so just left.

Overall, the experience ruined what was meant to be a relaxing Christmas break.
Very poor hospitality and not worth the VIP Access label. I would not return. The staff try their best not to help you. They are heavily undertrained and anything you ask them is either refusal or pointing to to some other department to pick it yourself.

The staff are friendly and helpful but the rooms are not the cleanest, I got a rash from my stay and not sure from what. The breakfast is ok, just your usual breakfast stuff nothing amazing but they do make you fresh tea/coffee/orange juice/poached eggs if you ask them. There are lots of pools and the spa is really nice with the pool and jacuzzi downstairs. There was a man doing building works on the on the property when we’re relaxing by the pool and making a lot of noise so the hotel did not think about that as part of providing good service take of that what you will.

There is a huge building under construction in the area but once we was in the hotel complex this was not a problem at all . The hotel itself and facilities were excellent. However, I was mistakenly charged for four shuttles when I only had one. I disputed this and the mistake was resolved. On arrival the the hotel the staff were very welcoming and polite as this was are very first time visiting Malta for my birthday as I made them aware of this before hand they were kind enough to upgrade our room and made sure we had everything we needed to have the most enjoyable stay very helpful and informative the breakfast had a large number of options and the the restaurant were great too and fairly priced with delicious options I would definitely recommend this place and would love to return again in the warmer months.

We had a sea view with a balcony which made the stay very relaxing.

There is a lot of construction work going on right by the hotel so perhaps ask for a room away from the noise. There is a dedicated taxi service into Valletta for 20 euros each way, although the local bus runs every 15 minutes or so and costs a few euros but takes about an hour.

Staff were helpful, although if like me, you like to read through what is around and going on, (I can't absorb everything all at once!) there wasn't really much in the way of a welcome pack in the room.

Breakfast was plentiful, varied and delicious! As was the food in the nearby restaurants.

If you want Spa treatments be prepared to pay 50% up front. Book early as the slots get go quickly. Being someone that has regular treatments and is a therapist as well, I wasn't overly impressed with the treatments, which seemed rushed, and not comparable in movements or delivery with the way I am used to.

Really liked the hotel and location, as I am not a fan of being right in the middle of hustle and bustle. The price was right although there are parts of the hotel very much in need of updating.

On entering the first room, it was clear that it needed a thorough refresh — both in terms of decor and cleanliness. There was a noticeable stale smell, and I began to experience itching, which I only tend to get in places where pets may have been. While I understand the hotel may have a no-pet policy, it might be worth reviewing how rooms are prepared to ensure all guests feel comfortable.

I was offered two alternative rooms. The second had a similar issue, but I eventually settled on the third, which was slightly better. The reception and concierge staff were helpful and accommodating throughout, which I appreciated. However, the room is ultimately what shapes your stay — and in this case, it unfortunately fell short. Regretfully, I won’t be returning.

Rooms were fine. Nice balcony. Outdated rooms but spacious so we were fine with it. Staff were friendly. Great views of the sea and opposite peninsula. The restaurants are over priced. Lots of construction going on right next to the resort so there was a lot of noise. If you live in a big city then I’m sure it’ll be naturally tuned out. We used the pool and hot tub inside and enjoyed that. We did not do the tour buses but there is a stop outside of the building which is very convenient.

Staff were very courteous and attentive. Breakfast was top-notch! Rooms were clean, although a bit dated. Views were incredible!

We had a great time, but this location is not perfect for families; If you're travelling with children under 16, be aware that the pools are off limits after 5pm. We wished that at least one of the pools would allow children after 5pm.
