90 mins and still waiting for my airport transfer. After 24 hours of travel the last thing you want to do is make a dozen phone calls to find out where your transportation is. Only to then be told they weren’t there when they’re supposed to be. They’re another 10 mins away. I’m really hoping the actually stay makes up for it, but I wasn’t planning on being there long and now my stay is even shorter. Also please note, the hotel phone number is not in service.

Unfortunately our stay here got off to a bad start when our airport transfer failed to appear. We were arriving late at night but had supplied our flight details and was confirmed. Tried the contact numbers listed but no one answered. Have not received any acknowledgment about it from the property. Grabbed an Uber and thankfully a security guard was on hand to let us into our room. Room was spacious with 3 beds and 2 bathrooms, ok and tidy, but there were exposed wires which was a concern and lots of little flies in the room. Pool did not resemble the photo and couldn’t be used anyway. Could not figure out how to get the ceiling fans to work but thankfully it was a brief stay. The planes taking off were quite loud, but there weren’t too many during the night. Breakfast was very good and the best part of the stay. Disappointing.

I’m giving 3 stars for the shuttle service and the convenience of the location, but the rooms are in a poor condition. Moldy bathrooms, stained towels and bedsheets to say the least. Too much noise early in the morning. It was too much to even to bring it up to the management.

I wouldn’t stay there again and I don’t recommend it.

Food was very expensive, tasteless and small in quantity with no variety. We had to wait an hour at the airport for the hotel shuttle to arrive and pick up to take us to the hotel. Even we had to call many times to the hotel for this. There was no internet working in the room.

Amazing hotel. Staff so lovely and helpful, grounds beautiful, fantastic pool and pool area. This was a short stay, arriving in the afternoon for a flight the next morning but could have stayed here much longer. So peaceful, really unlike any airport transit hotel I have ever stayed in. We only had dinner and all had different things but all were delicious. Free transfer to the airport in the morning was exactly at the agreed time. Thank you very much for a perfect last night in Sri Lanka.

I arrived late to the hotel and the staff was there ready to welcome me and get me all settled in. They were super helpful and always attentive. This transit hotel is wonderful value. The site is lovely with a range of trees and plants and the pool is excellent.
The room is good although a couple of fittings in the bathroom were in need of attention.
The service is good in the restaurant and we enjoyed our two meals.

We had a number of issues during our stay, and when I raised it with the owner, he blamed his Sri Lankan staff. They aren’t responsible for Washing Machines breaking down, being assigned rooms other than that which we had booked, and the satellite TV not working!!! I was really disastrously when he pointed at one worker and picked her out for wanting to work a half day.
Last time we weren’t picked up from the airport. I won’t be staying again, but I do wish the staff well, as they tried so hard to make up for the obvious lack of investment. I was amazed to see the owners child, who could hardly see over the steering wheel, being permitted to use the grounds to drive the Mini around in. Maybe he was 12?

a nice quiet nest away from the hustle and bustle and yet convenient for travelers as the airport is max. 15min away. The road to the hotel is a bit rural, but once you pass the gate, a beautifully landscaped park with a generous run awaits you. A lot of birds and other beautiful animals can be seen there. The pool is well laid out and also suitable for children. We were only there for one night as we were on our way back to Singapore. This is a nice place to stay for those who need peace and quiet after their vacation. The rooms are generously sized as are the detached bungalows on the grounds. The furnishings in the rooms are standard.

They don't answer the phone, difficult to make contact for Airport transfer. I have to wait for over 40 minutes for the driver. No welcoming drink. Bed sheet and pillowcases dirty. Broken shower, handheld shower missing, bathroom ceiling mouldy. Toilet seat not secured. The room had a bad smell and not maintained.
Good luck with the 24-hour front desk!!

The hotel was about 25 minutes from the airport. We came late at night so it was perfect to get to bed asap after landing. Bathroom was great very modern and clean for Sri Lanka. The pool was the star though, well maintained and lovely for a dip before check out. We stayed one night.

I booked one night stay for Friday night but our flight was delayed and we didn’t get to Sri Lanka until Saturday morning at 10 AM. The hotel still came to pick us up, made us breakfast and let us stay for couple hours so we could sleep properly. The check out time was 12 noon but we didn’t leave until almost 2:30. Amazing staff and hospitality. Would definitely rebook it before we leave Sri Lanka 🇱🇰!

We stayed one night only for our early flight.
Hotel has a lovely outdoor pool and staff were friendly , unfortunately we can’t rate it any higher than 2 because of amount of cockroaches we had in our room and cleanliness of the place.
This Place really need to tackle the issue, we have seen things like this even in a higher hotels , but the size and amount of it - put us off. We wouldn’t recommend and would t go back.

Great value for money! A cheap Uber away from the airport and a huge room which exceeded expectations. Nice refreshing pool to dip into as well.

Only shame was that we booked for airport pickup. Me and my friends all attempted to call the hotel 3 times in the week prior and the hotel was uncontactable. They only got back to us when my Uber to go to the hotel was booked! Breakfast is also very simple (toast, eggs, cut fruit, half a sausage) but good to get some food in before heading out for the day.

That being said, it was great value to stay for the night. Would pop by again!

We were only there for a few hours to wash up and get some sleep before our 3 am flight the following morning. Although the hotel was old, it was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The air conditioner was loud and the TV controls wouldn’t work but the staff replaced some of the equipment and got it working. The shuttle to the airport was on time and very efficient. It served the purpose that we wanted.

Very warm welcome when we arrived. At check in we received a a welcome drink and also confirmed booking of our transport to the airport the morning. Room was clean and shower was good, air con was also working. So everything was great.
Surrounded by beautiful gardens that are well maintained this was a lovely place for our last night. We didn't eat dinner at restaurant as we had had a large lunch before travelling up, so unable to comment on that. Breakfast was simple but hit the spot.
Transport was ready and waiting on time and very short 10 mins or so trip to airport.

well... where to start? (not well). i finally heard from the hotel about the transfer driver who was to meet us outside the airport. after an hour thereabouts i had to call (a lovely chap let me use his phone). the driver said he was stuck in traffic and would be ten mins. waited another hour or so (could there be that much traffic - i was incredulous). it was around midnight and we'd been in travel limbo for about 24 hours. so, we caught a taxi. the taxi went round and round, couldn't locate the place... back and forth, round and round... out in the sticks. apparently, he'd driven past a few times but the sign was not illuminated, not turned on. the room... was mouldy, stank of mould. and next to the kitchen. no hot water. it's a vast property, so i wondered why we were put there. knew there would be early morning noises - they came at 6. overall, a lot of bother for a few hours' kip. on the plus side, it had a pleasant pool area.

Great choice for airport transfers

An excellent hotel for convenient access to the airport (BIA). The complimentary shuttle service is with a van so can fit lots of cases. Staff are welcoming and service is excellent. The rooms were clean, though the design did mean insects could still enter through gaps under doors etc. The AC and fan worked well, and there was tea/coffee in the room.

One appeal when booking was the pool, but this does need more regular cleaning and new mats for the loungers, plus towels were not provided so you would need those from the room. The location did mean mosquitoes could be a distraction late afternoon/early evening.

Food in the restaurant was very tasty so it meant an extra trip out was not needed, especially as the location meant nothing close by.

Overall pleased with our stay.

Small independent operators struggling with tough times in Sri Lanka. They try to give a good service to their customers. Free airport pick-up/drop available. Close distance to the airport is an advantage. Rooms are spacious and fairly clean. However cannot be satisfied with basics such as the hot water didn't work in our room. So the kids couldn't have a shower after a long flight. There's no milk in the fridge, so, couldn't drink a cup of tea in the morning. TV channels are local ones only. They could've thought of those simple things. With those drawbacks, I think the amount they charge is slightly excessive!

On any normal visit this property would suffice and meet all needs, but i booked with the intention of having a good sleep before a long journey. I was in a room very close to a big wedding, and the music was very loud until small hours. Upon requesting a room change they moced me into a room next to a family with two very loud and hysterical children, despite the hotel being empty. Guests should be notified about a wedding, as this is a hotel mainly used to have a final moment of recovery before a long flight. I would not stay here again for this reason, though the rooms were clean, beds comfortable and food satisfactory. I appreciated the included airport transfer.

Good for one night stay before airport.

The room was nice and spacious, lights were a little tricky to figure out but ok. Very spotty wifi. Plane noise wasn't too bad, only a little at night and morning. Biggest issue was the dogs barking all night, but I do understand that some of them may be wild and not able to be controlled. Best part was the pool was very nice and clean and the dinner menu was very large. Airport transport was nice.

No Water!!

Woke up early in morning for airport transfer to find there was no running water in bathroom! No reception staff available at 6am to inform so had to go looking for ground staff - eventually someone looked into it and fixed the problem but the delay meant I missed the booked airport transfer and had to get the next one.
When reception staff eventually arrived, she was rude and appeared angry that I missed the transfer and refused to believe I had no water saying all bathrooms have water.
Also there was no hot water in bathroom so only cold water shower available.
If not for water problem, would have given 4-stars as hotel and room were clean, comfortable and excellent value for money.
PS. limited vegetarian breakfast options although packed take-away breakfast was ok.

Challenge is hotel is far off (takes 20-30 minutes to reach from airport), GPS directions can be challenging while returning to hotel, property in obscure location so no one knows if you are lost or phone not working or signal lost;

WiFi signal poor, front desk not available from 10 PM to 7 AM type window: any issues though they try to help, it can be challenging..

Add extra time to whatever you need to do.. while staying at this property..

Booked for two weeks I spoke to reception earlier this week and told them I wished to vacate today
This was understood at that time and I expected to only pay for the time.
To make up my bill for vacating on Saturday. This was agreed

Informed today that my credit card has already been charged and that they had no provision for credit or refund.
I insisted upon cash in that case.
And that I was happy to retrn to collect the refund.

Requested to place in writing my reasons for leaving I wrote the letter as follows:

No room service. It is the obligation of OREEKA to arrange room service - not the guest.
1-1 Can't put the obligation onto the guest to ask for room service.
1-2 Wen the guest vacates the room - or whatever - is a fitting time to attend to room service activities.
1-3 The sheets and pillowcases stink.
1-4 No tea replenished. Bought my own.
1-5 No tea replenished. Bought my own coffee.
1-6 No toiletries replenished.

Intermittent electricity.
And when the electricity went off I had to inform reception they seemed unaware.
A site generator was then activated.3,

Poor food.
The food was not good it did not taste nice and was tough.

Misleading address.
It was stated that the address was Negombo. This is incorrect the accommodation is actually
sited in Kndawala Katina.
A map is little help to a foreigner who has no concept of the situation.
