Customer service is top notch 10 out of 10.
I arrived at 2 am in the morning and the clerk had to get out of bed and was waiting on the street.
The hotel is a beautiful villa with a pool at an unbelievably low price. You can easily pay more for an over price big Mac meal at an airport.

I am just starting my Sri Lanka adventure and I cannot recommend enough Villa Kapuru. It is a small Villa run by SriLankan and Irish men who take in rescue dogs and cats so they can be treated with love and kindness. The Villa is a short walk to the beach and restaurants and has both a pool and air conditioning, very important in the Sri Lankan heat ☀️ It was quiet for sleeping, had a tasty breakfast and was exceptionally clean! Their partner restaurant is also highly recommended - I had the best chicken curry ever!

Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Villa Kapuru! The staff are really friendly and helpful, they even did some washing for us during our quick stay! So many cats and dogs around the property which were happy and friendly. Very close walk to the beach and surrounding restaurants. Wi-Fi reception wasn’t the greatest and the aircon in our room was very noisy at times but didn’t really affect our stay too much and we would definitely recommend if staying in Negombo!

Outstanding stay for the price point. Super clean and comfortable room, sufficient breakfast, and lovely animals to welcome you.
Staff arranged airport pickup and a driver for our trip to Sigiriya. Thank you!
Didn’t get a chance to use the pool but did lounge in the common areas, which was great as the breeze was coming across the canal.
This place is quaint and absolutely lovely.
Only negative thing is that some light bulbs were burnt out in the common areas and hallway, making it a little difficult to read!
Still a 5 star review.
Easy to walk to the beach and main road for shopping and eating.

This is a small hotel very close to the beach, shops and restaurants which are only a 5min walk or tuk tuk away. Rooms and facilities are good with air conditioning. Lovely Sri Lankan breakfast starts the day and a pool to chill out. We stayed 1 night as it is close to the airport.

If you're looking to recreate your high-end Western-standard hotel experience, this is not the place. If you want a pleasant, quiet place to stay where everything works, this is for you. No surprises here except a great breakfast. I suggest you get a room facing the pool and the beautiful garden. The beach and many nice bars and restaurants are within an easy walk.
This is a great place to stay to make sure you catch your flight from Bandaranaike Airport.

Great hotel in the Negombo area! In walking distance of beach and the main street with plenty of dining options is just up the road about two blocks. The train station is about 4 blocks away.

Fast internet, kettle, combination safe, hot water with good pressure, fridge, patio area, and nice desk make the room very suitable.

I had a canal view and saw a monitor lizard on two seperate occasions.

Staff is super nice and you will certainly enjoy your stay there.

The pool is well maintained and cleaned daily and the breakfast is super yummy with honey covered yogurt, plenty of fruit, and eggs made to order served thick slices of locally baked bread.

Really great place to stay. A good spot and very relaxing surroundings. Great staff team always available to help with all your needs. We arrived into the airport at 2/3am but it was no problem to check into the property at that time. There was also the most amazing display of fruit bats returning to a tree just near the guesthouse in the evening. Highly recommend :-).

Hotel Kapuru is lovely. There was a massive stone buddha statue with incense right next to our room (and lots of nice local decorations), and our room had a door to the patio overlooking the canal - it was super nice. Also, the staff went above and beyond to be helpful (e.g., even packing wonderful breakfast boxes for our early morning flight). The location was also good - a 5 min walk or so from many restaurants and cafes, and not far from the beach.

The hotel is located five or ten minutes from the beach but has a lovely secluded pool if you want a quick dip. The owner and staff are all very friendly and helpful, not just with the things to do with the hotel, but also arranging taxis etc when needed. To be honest the room itself could do with a bit of an update but it was clean, simple and comfortable. It was decent value considering the overall facilities, setting, and excellent breakfast. Drivers have trouble finding the hotel so be sure to have the hotel number with you so they can call for instructions!

Absolutely loved our stay at Villa Kapura starting with the lovely fresh healthy breakfast and plenty of tea or coffee.The rooms are a good size and kept immaculately clean with a very nice shower and always plenty of hot water.The air con is superb and the pool always clean and very inviting.But what really makes this place tick is Dennis and Nalika the owners as nothing is too much trouble and there wealth of local knowledge weather its the local restaurants or places to visit or Sri lanka in general is second to none.Well done guys you made our stay with you really special Thank you so much

A favourite of ours!

We stayed here for one night before our flight and it was the best hotel during our trip in Sri Lanka. The owner and the staff are extremely helpful in sorting out airport transfers and anything else you might need. We arrived a few hours early and were able to hang out by the pool. Our room was also ready before the official check-in time, which we didn't expect but was obviously very nice. The breakfast was also fantastic. The cats and dogs are cute but leave you alone if you don't want to interact with them. The room was clean and spacious. Excellent value for money. I wish we had stayed here our first night in Sri Lanka as well.

Every review has been correct and this is an immaculate place to stay. The service was just as good as a Hong Kong five star we recently stayed at!!

The friendly greeting at 2 am after our late arrival and helpful welcome email after booking were added touches that define this hotel. Picturesque oasis in the city!

My husband and I had a very relaxing stay at villa kapuru after a long flight to Sri Lanka. Our host went out of his way to ensure our comfort, allowing us to check in early and get much needed rest. The place is an artistic gem with beautiful original Sri Lankan paintings, lovely furniture, and courtyard for relaxing. The breakfast was delicious with beautiful presentation. Very convenient location to the beach, restaurants, and shops, though make sure you google map the location as the small side streets can be confusing, and not every Tuk tuk driver will know it’s location. (We just had a printed out street address.) I would stay there again if ever in negombo.

My boyfriend and I had the most comfortable stay at Villa Kapuru. Our flight arrived very late at night but the host was very accommodating and has been all smiles since our arrival. The room was very clean and comfortable. The service we received for the next 2 days was outstanding, our host has helped us above and beyond, e.g. taking us to different eateries for dinner and organising our massage therapy! We were greatly impressed that he is a cat and dog rescuer. As animal lovers, we felt quiet at home with all the obedient cat and dogs at the villa. We would go back to this place next time and highly recommend to anybody travelling to Negombo.

Great stay. We all have a better experience than we expected. We were very happy about the location given that we didn't really know too much about where things were on the beach road. It's literally a block back from the center of all the action on the beach road and is less than 5 minutes walk door to sand from the beach.

Spent a week here for a relaxing getaway and loved it. The villa is beautiful and so comfortable not just the rooms but lots of cosy areas to relax around the villa and at the pool. Hosts are the most attentive I've met, knowing exactly our preferences at breakfast and helping out with anything we possibly needed. Lots of knowledge on local area- places to eat out (and avoid) as well as giving good advice on things to do as well. Was very impressed with how caring they were as well to some dogs and cats they had rescued. Definitely worth a visit and fantastic value for money !

Fantastic first night in Sri Lanka, brilliant stay here even though just one night.They insisted on upgrading us when they found out it was our honeymoon. Showed us around town, pointed out the good places to eat and the not so good. They clearly passed on news of our honeymoon to the restaurant we chose to eat at as we had balloons and a cake with sparkler on top. They advised us on routes and ideas for our trip, which they also did with other guests. All in all a lovely stay, everything clean, great breakfast and friendly staff. Thanks for a great introduction to Sri Lanka.

Friendly hotel, great location

We chose to stay in the quieter negombo as opposed to Colombo and we were not disappointed. Dennis, the owner, helped us get a taxi from the airport which cost about 1900 rupees (under £10) and took half an hour. The hotel is beautifully done, is clean and has all the amenities you need. Dennis went out of his way to help us. He showed us the ATM, the beach and restaurants which are minutes away. He also printed train timetables for us. In the morning we went for a refreshing swim and had a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.

Cute oasis in the heart of Negombo

Villa Kaupuru was everything we were looking for to recharge for a couple of days after a month in Sri Lanka. Dennis was a great host - very helpful and friendly! The villa was a tropical oasis with heaps of cute places to sit as well as a nice pool to cool off in. As animal lovers we loved having the resident dogs and cats :) The location was perfect - nice and quiet but only a 5 min walk to all the action, with great restaurants close by. Only small things was the ac in our room was quite loud.

This was my favorite hotel in Sri Lanka. The pictures on the website don't do it justice. I wish I could have stayed there longer. The room was brand new, up to westerner standards without sacrificing the local touches. The staff was very is nice and the breakfast was excellent. They can organise any types of excursions to visit the town, day tour, boat tour (which picks you up from the hotel back yard) and spa treatment. This was the perfect ending to a perfect trip.

Tucked away behind main street of Negombo Villa Kapura is a quiet tranquil spot within easy walking distance of the beach and restaurants. An excellent breakfast was served daily and the staff friendly and efficient. Rooms were clean with good air conditioning The bathroom could do with an upgrade. The cupboard door on the vanity was not attached and the shower a trickle. Overall value for money and an enjoyable stay -recommend.

Has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Negombo, near the beach and all the restaurants. They provide a fresh breakfast, a pool and clean rooms w comfortable beds. Also nice and flexible staff!
The owners are petlowers but the cats and the dog wont bother you at all. They just make it more ”homy”. Well recommended by us who have stayed here 3 times now.
