All rooms have a sea view, interrupted only by palm trees. My delux room was huge with a massive bathroom. I loved that you can see the ocean from the shower or bathtub.
Spa treatments were lovely.
Staff all friendly and hard working.
The road outside did not feel very safe after dark. There is a pavement but it is blocked in places by shrubs or parked vans so I had all my meals in the hotel.

Check in was smooth and staff were friendly. Room was very dated with a musty smell. Housekeeping trolley was left right outside room for the whole night. mosquitoes in room but staff were responsive in bringing repellant.
Ordered room service and price was almost double when paying the bill because of added charges.
Bathroom has picture window so not private at all because of small room size.

In general it is a good hotel, rooms are very spacious with nice view, clean bathrooms all high standard but it felt like soulless. The staff was OK but nothing exceptional, we waited for drink before our dinner like forever even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all. It's close to the airport so it's a good option for 1 night before or after the flight. Breakfast was very good with tons of options.

I only stayed at the Jetwing Sea for one night, but I wish it had been longer! From the moment we arrived, the amazing staff made us feel welcome and well cared for. The hotel is perfectly situated on a beautiful beach and features two fantastic pools. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. Dinner was exceptional, made even better by the attentive and friendly wait staff. Whether you're starting or ending your trip to Sri Lanka, this is the perfect place to stay.

The only complaint would be the front desk staff were not helpful. Couldn’t answer some of our questions. The bell boys on the other hand were great. We had an excellent experience relaxing at Jetwing Sea. The pool was amazing and was adjacent to the beach which made relaxing by the pool/beach divine. The breakfast was awesome with a variety of options from authentic Sri Lankan to Continental. The wait staff at the restaurant were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room and bathroom had a very comfortable layout and the cleaning staff did a great job keeping things clean and tidy. The spa was heavenly and the spa treatment was extremely relaxing.

The only opportunity for improvement is communication. The staff at reception seemed to struggle with communication and that made the check in and check out processes very tedious.

Overall, however, we had an excellent experience and would highly recommend the Jetwing Sea who is looking for a relaxing vacation by the beach, away from any hustle and bustle. I would love to go back to spend more days just relaxing by the ocean and playing at the pool.

Additionally, the room windows and shutters were either clogged or broken, and there was an unbearable, musty smell throughout the room.

The hotels feels very old and not in great shape. However, the staff was great and vey kind and the hotel was clean but it does need some upgrades so that it doesn't feel that old. I don't think it was worth for the price that I paid.

The hotel is right on the beach and sea view rooms are great to relax in.

We were greeted with welcome drinks at check in, they had very kindly upgraded our room booking. The views from the room and by the pool of the beach were absolutely stunning! The room itself was very spacious and the bathroom had a glass wall allowing you to sit in the bath and look through the room and out the window.

The hotel wouldn't call me a taxi when I came to leave for the airport, instead wanting to charge $26 for their service. An Uber cost $4, better to make your own arrangements.

This would once have been an amazing hotel but in the room we stayed it is clearly getting dated and in need of some love. But if you want a room with a great room and beach access this is a really good option.

The customer service provided by the staff was second to one. I found this hotel to be more of a 3 Star however. It lacked a bit of design/class. The room was a great size however and had access to the seafront. I would suggest doing a deeper clean of the rooms. Other than that, it’s perfectly fine for a short stay.

I had a driver for a weekend safari who was to drop me at the Jetwing Sea on Sunday night. due to my requests, we were very delayed and didn't arrive until midnight. I called ahead to see if we could get a cot put into my room because my driver was very tired and faced an 8 hr journey home. my reservation was for 2 nights, but I only wanted the cot for one night and no breakfast for the driver. they insisted multiple times that I had to pay extra for the cot, and also pay for breakfast and for two nights for him. I told them over and over that he would only stay one night and no breakfast. they finally quoted me $20 for that, but then they kept on saying that if he stays for 2 nights they will charge double (over and over they said this, no matter how many times I said he will only stay one night). it was like they thought I was trying to trick them and was being dishonest, even though this was my fifth year at this hotel. It was very rude. but anyway, I told them I agreed to the charge and that they should go ahead and put the cot in the room (this conversation was 3-4 hours before we arrived). when we got there, the cot was not there, and we had to wait for them to install it when it was very late and we were very tired, and I had business early in the morning. also, on check out day, I was sleeping in, and before 8am, they had staff out on my veranda cleaning and were banging on the furniture and window, and shouting to each other, waking me up. not appreciated.

Disappointed with my Sri Lankan Gem

This was my 6th visit to the Jetwing Sea. I was disappointed to find that refurbishing works were going on in the south wing of the hotel where our rooms were. We were not made aware of this and it was very noisy all day and into early evening. Half the wing and rooms were closed off. After two days we did get moved and upgraded but it took some effort. My friend who was staying for the fist time was upgraded on arrival. Very disappointing way to treat a loyal and frequent visitor. However as always the staff and service was fantastic.

Little value for the price

It’s your standard big hotel by a dirty ocean front (no rubbish, just dirty beach sand). The welcome was great. However, the room we were allocated was right next to the boarded up section of the left wing being redone... the hotel wasn’t full either. It was clearly in need of being redone itself. Notwithstanding, it was bland and devoid of colour or any character. It was ok for an airport preflight stayover. The spa was excellent - the lady really knew what she was doing and the pools were great. It was when we went for dinner that it really went downhill got us. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter did not know what he was doing, pouring glasses when the tasting had not finished. The buffet was disappointing: oily Mongolian and the worst curries ever. Thank god for the desserts - their pastry chef somewhat cured an otherwise terrible meal fir which we had to fork out Rs 3000+ pp.

I only stayed for one night. When we first went to the room, there was a large cockroach. Room has no airflow so it’s smells wet and moist. The view from the room is nice. The need is good. The room is old and does not have a good vibe. Bathroom is also not as what we expect. The hotel is 4* but the rooms are 2*. For the amount we paid I would have preferred to stay in a much better place.

We have stayed in many Jetwing Hotels and I would rate this the poorest. You cannot rate this as a 4 star hotel because the standards are no where near to other Jetwing 4 start hotels. Hotel needs a complete revamp if you are to call this a 4 star hotel. There were several noticeable marks/patches on bed linen & on towels. Bathroom was not cleaned properly, broken fittings (both soap holders were broken) & the AC was not working properly even after engineers came and fixed it. Extremely disappointed with the hotel amenities but we were impressed with the kind, friendly & helpful staff.

Beach hotel convenient for airport

on arrival my first impression was that the hotel was suitable for stay on arrival or prior to departure, located 30 minutes from airport, on the beach and close to local restaurants.Hotel and rooms are dated but adequate.
Room suffers from condensation if a/c turned off. A/c does not work without room key being inserted in power socket.We found the floor was wet as if it had just been mopped on returning from dinner. Hotel aware of the problem.
We also noticed a damp musty smell in the room that had not been evident when we checked in.
On that basis I would not recommend this hotel.

Overpriced hotel on a Filthy Beach

After a wonderful trip around Sri Lanka we spent our final day at the Jetwing Sea. I have never written a review before but thought it important to warn other customers. Its not a cheap place and a complete rip off compared with all the other amazing places we stayed

Firstly there was a mess up with the booking which meant we had to pay an extra cost for our room. Management dealt with this very badly and with a very unhelpful, take-it-or-leave-it manner.

We had looked forward to a relaxing final day on the beach and by the pool but both were dirty. The beach was disgusting and no attempt made to keep it clean. The pools were pretty dirty too. One with algae and slime on the sides and tiles missing.

The room was ok and the other staff, waiters etc were friendly and helpful.

Just About Perfect!

After working in Sri Lanka for nearly two months, we decided to celebrate our 41st anniversary in nearby Negombo and chose Jetwing Sea. From the moment of our arrival to our return home, we were met with a warm welcome and helpfulness from their great staff! Our room was cool, comfortable and very clean--and with a lovely view of the ocean. On our first night, we enjoyed a buffet dinner in their open-air beachside restaurant. At the end, the staff unexpectedly came to our table with a beautiful \"Happy Anniversary\" cake for us to enjoy! The pools are lovely--and we liked having a choice between a place to play with the kids and a quiet, serene pool. (We would suggest they someday add a \"bench\" in the quiet pool to sit in the shade.) The beach is nice, although you can't walk a long ways before it is not as clean as at the hotel. Jetwing does a great job of making everything so pleasant, though, so you don't want to go far. Be sure to check out surrounding restaurants & nearby shopping, too. (Our only moment of embarrassment was when they came to collect the two little bottles of shampoo & shower gel from us while we waited for our taxi. We didn't know they refilled them!) All said, we hope to return again!

Stayed at Jetwing Sea prior to a bicycle tour of Sri Lanka. Nice hotel. On the beach. Wonderful breakfast buffet. There are multiple Jetwing hotels and taxi driver didn't know where the Jetwing Sea hotel was located. We stopped along the road several times to ask tuk-tuk drivers where it was located (at midnight!)

It's the people that makes the stay memorable

My first impression was not good as I had a room at the old wing which had dripping water from the AC, phone was not working and traffic noise. I was upgraded to a bigger room at the new wing. This is where you want to be. It's more spacious and quiet. Definitely more comfortable. But it was the people who made the stay memorable. The staff was responsive to my feedback. From the manager to the front desk to the restaurant waiters and housekeeping crew, they were all very welcoming which changed my impression of this hotel.

The live singing from table to table during dinner was a nice touch too.

BOOKED A DELUXE ROOM BUT FOUND TWO COCKROACHES IN THE BATHROOM! Reception were not that concerned and initially suggested that some \"killer powder\" could be used re the problem. I suggested a new room and this was taken up. However, the next morning I found a leech like worm in the bathrooom in the 2nd room. I would have thought that I would have been given some sort of refund but this was not forthcoming. The hotel has a good aspect but is rather in need of refurbishment. Also the hotel menu was very limited. Balcony view was good and the bed was comfy but who wants to stay in a hotel with cockroaches and worms in the bathroom-let alone a 4* hotel.

The staff of the hotel was rude and not very helpful. The room was full of flies, we asked the staff to help us get some spray or insect repellent. The staff says he will, he got the tips from us and nothing had been done. We spent the night catching flies.
The location was alright, and couple steps away from the beach but there's plenty more choices nearby. Wont come back again.
