Definitely NOT a hotel! More like a hostel. Staff terrible, don’t think they have ever been trained in hospitality and customer service. Food was diabolical , we had a top room. Off-colour sheets, no blanket, no coffee/tea facilities, no fridge, felt sorry for restaurant staff. Don’t think there was a proper chef :(
Hotel was very noisy, you hear every step on the stairs, every child, every bang of a door, bed comfort was ok. Little piece of soap only in bathroom, didn’t change towels, it was all v poor and expensive for what it was !
Felt sorry for the one man room cleaner so left a small tip. The English speaking staff lady was pleasant.

The entrance is dirty! The parking lot gives a terrinle image of what the hotel is going to look like. Evwn being only soil, it can be clean. The outer facade has a flaf of the hotel that looks super old and ugly, it literally gives the i.pression of a cheap hotel. My brother passed by and didn't want to stau in it because of the look. The entrance stairs are painted with a paint that shows the soil of all the shoes, it looks dirty, with a nice facade, well painted you would make it look sooo different. This is a nice hotel that with a little little love would be amaaazing!!! The sargazo smell is horrible... we loooved how spacious our room was!!!!!!the terrace it has to the malecon is amaaaazing!!!!! It was clean, though the bathroom can have some improvements, just by painting the wall would make it look cleaner. The shower also needs some detailing.
The music at night is reaaly good! I loved listening pop mexican music such as Luis Miguel and Enrique Iglesias. I stayed down for hours! Loved it! It is very well located! I couldn't have breakfast since we went on a dive trip and the breakfast starts very late.. it should start at 7.. The pool is only a big jacuzzi but it is not clean. You can make a beautiful rooftop there! You have the place to make it. The view of the hotel is amaaaazing. We enjoyed opening the terrace and looking at the ocean! The staf was super nice, specially Montserrat.. all of them..Overall we enjoyed very much our stay!

Good location and comfortable stay, but some downs

The hotel is in a good spot, just steps from the beach and 5min walk to busy. Loungers were available right on the sand — a definite highlight. The room was clean, spacious, and fit four people comfortably with two double beds. Having a parking spot included was also a big plus.

However, we didn’t have hot water in the shower during our stay, which was quite inconvenient. The staff seemed fairly uninterested and weren’t very attentive to guests. Also, loud music played every day from around 8 AM to 10 PM, which made it hard to relax at times.

It’s a nice place overall, especially for the location, but there’s room for improvement.

There were some aesthetic issues: paint job, rusting metal lamps etc. There was humidity on the ceiling from a leak and the smell of sewage in the bathroom is very strong. These all take away from the comfort. For the price, this should not be.

I booked 2 rooms 2 months in advance. I immediately noticed that I booked 1 night too many, and asked to modify the reservation by 1 night less. They said the room was pre-paid and non-refundable. When I said I made the reservation 3 hours ago and just made a mistake, they hung up on me. In my opinion this is thievery, and an unacceptable procedure. We go to Mahahual every year, and I will never stay there again.

Our stay here was ok. It is what you would expect for the price you pay here. The staff were friendly, but not super helpful. We asked for some drinking glasses as there were none provided in the room, and the staff were uncomfortably reluctant to give us the glasses, suggesting we drink from bottles only. There were no fridges in the rooms, so we instead needed to buy ice down the road to cool our bottles of wine in the sink. The restaurant looked ok, but found it a little bit strange that the only people seems to be using it was the staff themselves eating infront of all the guests, and celebrating what seemed to be a birthday. The rooms were clean, bed was comfortable. All in all an ok stay. Mahahual does have a seaweed problem at certain times of the year, which is unfortunate but can’t be helped.

Ya habíamos visitado este hotel y está muy bonito y limpio. Ahora está sumamente descuidado. Sucio. Los colaboradores flojos solo sentados todo el día a excepción de l chica del bar. No no deja ron papel higiénico en la limpieza. No hay teléfono para liamar a Recepcion o pedir servicio a cuartos. Las pizzas terribles. Carísimo el tema de la bebida y comida y no tienen calidad. La playa que les corresponde totalmente abandonada, no hay servicio de restaurante ni de bebidas, el personal cuando un camion de un servicio que ellos usan se descompuso bloqueo la salida de automobiles y nos dejo atrapados el personal no hizo nada por ayudarnos a sacar nuestro auto. NO tiene alberca!! solo son 2 empleador por turno uno de seguridad y el de recepcio que a su vez limpia las habitaciones. el hotel esta todo remendador y sin mantenimiento de la coladera sale olor fetido terrible. y lo peor esque aunque incistes no te dan tu factura aunque hayas pagado ahi!! terrible trampa para TURISTAS!

The hotel is in a very poor state. The common areas were filthy and there was no toilet paper or running water when we checked in. The staff had to run out to buy rolls. The sheets were stained and the duvets had no covers over them. The beach was also covered in seaweed (sargasso). We demanded our money back when we saw the condition of the room.

The hotel is in very bad conditions, they haven’t invested in maintenance in months. There is practically any service, there are three guys operating the whole place including the lobby and cleaning activities, and only two of them are kind. There is no restaurant service anymore, and it looks like a phantom hotel at all times. The Air Conditioning leaked over the bed, and they weren’t able to fix it, we had to put a towel to avoid getting wet. Even though they try to clean the rooms, the cleaning products smell horrible. In general, the cleanliness of the entire place was terrible. The room’s safe box didn’t work. The communal bathrooms in the lobby were dirty and didn’t work. The room’s shower took a long time to heat up and sometimes the water would drain. They didn’t have our room in time. During nights there was always very loud music, and we could here everything from the hall and other rooms. The price is very high for what they offered, it is more like a motel.

Lovely room with an ocean view, at the end of the Malacon (boardwalk) near the Lighthouse. Comfy bed, black-out curtains, nice AC, TV, and dedicated beach chairs. Could have used a trashcan in the bedroom and a mini-fridge, but overall, a good value for price. They have both king and queens in the rooms, and unless you make a choice beforehand, you are likely to get the smaller bed, as did our friends traveling with us. Although a continental breakfast was included, it was a supreme effort to order it from our likely new waitress. Their other lunch fair was mediocre at best, probably catering to the American crowd...there are many other authentic and tasty restaurants to go to in the area, although the town tends to close around 5 pm, when the cruise ships leave for the day!

The service was good, except we booked a king ocean view room and were told they did not have that room because the management over books those rooms. We got a queen ocean view room. Also the music in the lobby and restaurant was very loud and could be heard in our room very early and late at night. The food was poor and not made with fresh , seemed like frozen food. The service was good in the restaurant very nice.

Highly recommend!

This hotel is difficult to find because the only sign is on the facade. What it lacks is signs, it makes up in location. This is on the quieter end of the town...although you can walk down to the tourist hotel zone in just a few minutes. I loved the beach and the view from our room.

ALL of the staff, especially Adriana, were very helpful.

I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here if we return to the area.

Perfect little hotel in best location

Great stay at this hotel. Booked an oceanfront junior suite - which was really only a hotel room with balcony - one small chair in room and two on balcony. But hey, it was still fantastic. Staff super helpful, particularly Julio at the front desk. WiFi was quirky in the room, but strong at the beach, which is right across a pedestrian walk from hotel. Beautiful location. Lots to do here. About as far away from Cancun as you can get and still be on a road. We will be back. Soon.

Pleasant Hotel in a sleepy place

There really isn't much in Mahahual and has only grown a little bit because cruise ships have now started to dock here. The town's facilities and hotels are limited, but this hotel was pleasant. It overlooks the sea and is towards the end of boardwalk that stretches the length of the town. The hotel has a small restaurant where I ate dinner that was reasonably priced and the meal tasted good. I also had breakfast there, which again was good and the waitress staff were very attentive and accommodating. Given that I was on business, the fact that there was a half decent Wi-Fi connection was also a plus.

Not really a 3 star hotel

It all started with a very small room with a little tiny bathroom (the shower specifically) it continued with the AC that did not work and ended up with a \"queen bed\" that was only two single beds unevenly put together, therefore, we spent a terrible night. I asked for another room and we were changed to one right in front of the restaurant where the music was very loud, besides it was hard to get there at night as the light bulbs in the room did not work.
The overall service is not very friendly, and the staff is not courteous they would benefit from a hospitality training.
I definitely would not recommend this hotel.

When we arrived there was an extremly intoxicated group of young persons being assisted into cabs to depart back to their cruise ship. This party group were not pleasant to staff or to patrons of the hotel. We thought this to be a one off, but found out during our stay that this was the norm. As the cruise ships come in, the party group descends on the town. Over service seemed to be the norm at this hotel where we observed intoxicated persons causing problems and exhibiting obnoxious behaviour on numerous occasions.

Our room was quite spacious, modern and very clean. The hotel itself is nicely laid out. Good coffee and a nice sampling of pastry, toast and muffins was served each morning.

Of note is that during the day, service was directed towards the cruise ship visitors and often we would sit at a table for long periods with no attendance. I understand the drunk crowd needed a lot of attention, but it would have been nice to have a little more priority placed on patrons staying at the hotel. After the drunk crowd would leave, it was as if the servers had completed there tasks and again hotel patrons were left hanging. Overall I would say the hotel was very clean and modern, but that service was definetly lacking.

Second time at this hotel....great room...would need a fridge would be great! Restaurant food is good...but the IVA of 16 is NOT included in the price (weird)...and service is slow...but OK we are on vacation...the bad thing is THE SMOKING IS PERMITTED IN THE RESTAURANT...what a shame...smokers should go eat and smoke at the tables on the beach...this is very bad for non smokers...

BUYER BEWARE: Rooms DO NOT MATCH pictures!

I reserved a \"Sea View\" room based on the picture provided. I guess other reviewers have lucked out, because the room they offered us was on the first floor, facing in the direction of the ocean but opening on to the restaurant patio. It seemed like it used to be a storage closet and was barely big enough for one bed-about 1/3d the size of the pictured room. They gave us a larger junior suite at the back, which was nice, but no sea view. Apparently this happens a lot and no one wants the first room we were offered. Not cool. Also right next to a very loud Senor Frog's and the hotel beach is full of cruise ship passengers on some days.

Food and beverage is pricey compared to a block or so off the malecon. As a result the restaurant appeared empty every day and evening despite a nice ocean front location. Should consider offering managers happy hours and/or more reasonably priced food and drinks to entice guests to stay within the hotel space. Roof top is a good area but again not well used or promoted. Location overall is good with the exception of days when the cruise ships are in port....

Great hotel unfortunate circumstances.

We stayed here a total of 6 nights and it was great for the most part. There water pump broke one day and we had no toilet, shower for the whole day and night. They only wanted to give us a continental breakfast for the extreme inconvenience of having no water and that really left a bad taste in my mouth. Other than that it was good. Food is a little pricey and not that good but they have restaurants really close by.

My family stayed 2 nights. Main bed was great, but the pull out couch for my 10 year old daughter was SUPER uncomfortable. You could feel every spring, and every movement was squeaky and crunchy. This could easily be solved with a foam mattress topper. Otherwise everything was great and we would stay here again.

Would be 4 stars if they actually had a room for me when I arrived

I made my reservation via a third party website and paid w/credit card in advance but when I arrived they didn't have a room available for the first two nights of my reservation. They offered to put me up in another hotel but the hotel they sent me to was not even close to the class of the original hotel. It wasn't on the beach, it didn't have any windows or outdoor light at all, and to top it off it didn't have a TV. It was literally an 8ft X 8ft box.

It is unfortunate because this is a really nice hotel and the staff was very apologetic and really went out of their way to apologize - it wasn't the front desk persons fault but unfortunately for her she had to try to remedy the situation.

All in all I would still recommend the hotel itself but I would think twice about booking via 3rd party sites. The hotel grounds are very nice, location is awesome, and I was impressed with the staff - especially the lady working the front desk when I arrived.....she couldn't have handled the situation any better and because of her I still would recommend the hotel (just not booking via 3rd party site).

Finally, to the hotel management if you are going to work with 3rd party sites you MUST have a room available when someone has reserved and prepaid for a room - especially given the fact that Mahuhaul isn't a large city with many other last minute options. Luckily I found a room and paid out of my pocket (paying walk up rates isn't cheap) for a couple of nights until I was able to move to your hotel.

Best hotel in Mahahual

Stafff is extra friendly and devoted to serve. Restaurant food is Amazing !!.Bartender Mildred is extremely helpful with what ever u need to know About Mahahual. Hotel Location is great!! The Beach is a step away and has all u need from massage cabin on The Beach to water sports facilities...tours ...etc . Only stayed for 2 nights but Wish I could have stayed forever...Felt so relaxed and pampered!!!

We had a great time, the staff was helpful, the room price was very fair, and we enjoyed being slightly off the \"beaten\" path of the main beach, but still close enough to walk (with our 3 and 4 year old).

The hotel was great, it is a town that definitely caters to the cruise ships. We were there during the day and it was fairly busy, at 4 pm as the cruise ship departed the town changed radically into a sleepy seaside village. It was very cool to experience both sides of it in one visit.

Just a heads up - there isn't a pool.

When things don't work as you had planned

It is a nice nice looking hotel right on the water but… They must not have been having a good day when we arrived. We arrived early and understandingly our room was not ready. We came back just after check in, 3 hours later, and the room was still not ready and they had to send someone up to clean it so we had to wait even longer. For a higher end hotel, it would have been nice if they made time in that 3 hour period to clean the room for guests they knew had already arrived, especially considering it was cold and rainy out. Once in our room we wanted a shower but there was no hot water (only in our room). They did everything they could and ended up moving us to another room. All else was good except the tv didn't work and every time I turned on the \"hot tub\" on the roof, which took 45 min to warm up, someone would go and turn it back off. Again, it was unusually cold out so leaving the hot tub hot (a perk that originally made us pick this hotel) seems like the logical thing to do, for the price we paid anyway. It was a pretty little fishing village and if you enjoy the spectacle of watching a small town turn into a cash generator as the countless cruise ships roll in two-by-two, then it's the place for you!

Outstanding hotel, spotless service

Rooms are beautiful, nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly, and the location is close to bars, coffee, restaurants and the beach without all the noise of la quinta avenue.

Nice hotel on the beach

We basically went to Mahahual to dive and this was the first time that we stayed in this hotel. The staff and the hotel were very nice,the breakfast very good and the dinner menu had a good selection.
The room doors use the electronic card system and this was not working during our stay. Each time we came back to the room we had to ask someone in reception to open our door for us.

This was the only inconvenience during our stay and I would definitely stay there again.

Great place to stay in Mahahual

Hotel Quinto Sole is fairly new, and a little pricier that some of the others in Mahahual, but the rooms are very modern, and we had a king size bed and nice flat screen tv. The A/C worked very well and this section of the beach is one of the nicest. The bar/restaurant downstairs is great. I would stay here again.

Hotel Quinto Sole

It was a long drive to the hotel but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. A beautiful setting on the ocean. The room was great but we would have liked a coffee machine in our room. The negatives were the restaurant food which was terrible. I ordered a grilled fish fillet and I received a whole fish which tasted okay but not what I ordered. The rice was dry and I could not eat it. The server did not speak English so communication was very difficult but I pointed to what I wanted on the menu. My husband ordered the steak medium rare. It was well done and very tough. Almost like they defrosted it in the microwave first and he did not receive any potatoes or rice with it. Just a bowl of vegetables. Other than that I would go back to the hotel but would probably find somewhere else to eat.

Nice but somewhat noisy

Nice boutique hotel right in the heart of it. Staff were great. Issue I had was with the noise outside. That's why I gave room comfort a low rating. To be fair, I didn't go down and try to change my room as I was only there one night. However, the bass from one of the clubs was pretty annoying and went all the way through to the morning!

best hotel in majahual. right on beach. good brakfast downstairs. free wifi. hotel is brand new. the food was average for dinner above average for breakfast. great orange juice and huevos rancheros. price a little above other majahual places but 40% below what cancun would cost.

La habitación puede mejorar mucho, ponerle la puerta que le falta a la regadera, dar mantenimiento a la puerta del balcón, está extremadamente dura. Un extractor de aire en el baño.
No me dejaron papel higiénico y tuve que pedirlo.
No recogían los trastes del club de playa.
Tampoco te ofrecían algo en el club de playa, tenías que pedir las cosas en el restaurante.

Lo que está a su favor es la ubicación, 10/10.

Cuando llegamos al hotel, estaba lloviendo y los alrededores están muy lodoso y la palapa de recepción tenia fugas, entonces no es muy cómodo el check in.
para estacionarme, tuve que ponerlo donde pude, porque estacionamiento muy claro, no hay. El chico que nos recibió no era muy accesible, comentaron que era nuevo. Nos comentó que no podemos meter comida ni agua al cuarto, lo cual no me gustó porque ni botellas de agua había de cortesía. Sin embargo, al otro día los chicos del restaurante y del hotel, estaban con otra actitud, muy amables y serviciales. Excelente servicio de ellos.
Nos ayudaron para el paseo en lancha y nos llevaron a la lancha. También, la salida fue muy rápida y accesible.
