Location was ideal. The room was clean, with a pleasing design and comfortable bed. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the restaurant in the hotel was never open but there are numerous places to eat nearby so just plan accordingly. We would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay there again!

This hotel is Beautiful, its right on the road to the Teotihuacan Pyramids! We took a taxi from the airport and walked our entire 3 day stay from the hotelto the complex. We're both seniors and the walk is very doable. The front desk young lady was a Gem ! She was so very helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the employees were fabulous! We highly recommend this hotel

I have been coming here since the 90’s. First, booked thru Expedia at $100 a night, which I thought was high. At arrival was advised that they had a special and the price was 1/2 of what I paid. Requested a quiet room. Room given had no internet reception. Room changed to a noisy room, spotty internet. Then drunks singing at 10 pm, by the pool,had to request 2 x on phone to keep them quiet. Finally after 45 minutes, had to go to the front desk and again request that the manager do something to stop the noise. Manager incompetent. Could not work on the net due to frequent outage. Very low water pressure and bad shower head. Kids playing outside my room window in the dark after 9. No control. The rest of the staff very acomodating. Super disappointing and feel ripped off.

Charming and pretty/ not outstanding room comfort

The building and decoration of the lobby and rooms is lovely.To be able to eat by the pool was great and the wait staff and desk staff were knowledgeable and charming and spoke English well. The mattress was disappointing and the screen to my window was falling off. Also the walls to my room were so thick that Wifi was terrible. I couldn't even text my friend in the room next door. Had to go down to the pool for decent WiFi. Location by Teo was terrific. Daily windy summer thunderstorms prevented me from swimming, which is one reason I wanted to stay there, so that's disappointing.

The location is excellent, really close to the main attractions and the archeological site. The restaurant is nice and clean, the food is good and the servers are nice.
However, the reception staff was very difficult to contact. The front door of the hotel was unlocked but the reception was closed and nobody was answering. Also, the night we arrived, they had a huge wedding party going on that lasted all night. Then, the next day, they started screening music videos with full on sound at 9:30pm until very late at night. To me, if they have these events should consider to let the people know in advance or separate the whole place. We were not able to sleep comfortably for two out of the three nights we stayed.
In addition, the TV never worked properly, and the WiFi didn't work either. The only place where we get WiFi was at the restaurant.

Super nice Hotel & Spa and close from the pyramids

I was very pleased with this hotel & Spa. It was located within a walking distance from the pyramids. The area was nice and quiet and the pyramids were viewable from outside the hotel. They took the safety measurements upon our arrival. They provided gel and spray us with a disinfecting spray. The food was tasty and welled priced. I will considered this Hotel & Spa for future trips. Pictures as is in their website.

Hotel is closed to the archaeological site. The food at the restaurant is amazing with reasonable prices. The propriety is pretty, but the pool was covered and it looks like a abandoned property. I was not interested in the pool because the weather was cool, but the pool always need to be clean. This will help with the property image.

Quaint and clean property with a lot of character. Beautiful architecture with a lot of history and traditional art. Staff is super nice and attentive! Excellent restaurant. Great food reasonably priced. Pyramids right across the street. Street vendors somewhat aggressive when we visited but understandably so given the Covid situation that has all but practically shut down their livelihood. They were very respectful though with their sales pitches. Please buy if you can!

I was surprised you could see the pyramids from the hotel. This former club med property is beautiful and richly decorated. The staff is amazing and passionate about meeting guests' needs. The pool area is calming. Archaeology tours to Teotihuacan stay here which says a lot.

The only problem we had was the wifi was spotty in our room. It wasn't a big deal because we were mainly in the room to sleep.

I look forward to my next stay.

Excellent location for visiting Teotihuacan site

Excellent location for a visit to the Teotihuacan archeological site: about 300 metres from gate 1. Ideally visit by car, in which case at the roundabout by gate 1 go right and look for the bright blue buildings. If you go left you go ALL the way around the ring road which is very slow. It is close enough to walk to gate 1. You can eat at the hotel but if you have a car you have more choice of restaurants. Food was ok but this area is not for fine dining. We stayed in early February and it was very cold at night - the rooms had no heating but provided plenty of blankets. Shower was hot and strong. No coffee/tea maker or fridge in room. There is an ATM in the gate 1 building. Wifi was free but only available in hotel lobby.

Very cozy place close to the Pyramids. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The only issue that we had was that the shower had a very low stream and was a little difficult to get hot water at times but this did not bother us too much. Overall we had a really nice stay at this hotel.

Despite having prebooked and prepaid in full we were advised the room was not available and told that we would have to move to another hotel in the area. We stood our ground, not having any information about the alternative on offer. After about 30 minutes of to and fro we were allowed to stay.
Later we were awakened by karaoke at 1:30 in the morning. After pointing out the time to the participants they did pack it in. No hotel staff were seemingly present.

It was my second time staying here, and we really do like the hotel! The restaurant is very good, and it is a great location for easy access to the pyramid site. However, the rooms are quite small for 4 people (2 adults traveling with two small children). The mattress on the double bed was also hard on our backs, but for a short stay, it is manageable.

Best place close to pyramids

Greetings! Have stayed here on visits over more than 20 years. Place very good and walking distance to the Ciudalela at Teotihuacan. Good restaurant, attentive staff. One thing to be aware of is that there has been problems with the showers. Meaning handles do not work, hot water sometimes iffy. So check your shower before you get settled in your room. Also, management seems to be oblivious most times to noise control. Loud kids in pool, uncontrolled, makes for difficult rest for one wanting relaxation returning from the pyramids. Noise resounds into the rooms. Also you can hear conversations going on in adjacent rooms. So be aware of this. Also this property is called a spa. Not really, only massage available, however this is a great service!

Definitely a good base for Teotihuacan

Great base for visiting Teotihuacan. If you come by bus from Mexico City, it is slightly less than one-half-mile walk. The hotel was quite comfortable with one exception. We came in January during a relative cold spell. the room heater worked on a timer of some sort such that we had room heat only from about 8 pm to 8 am...the rest of the time the room was cold (but admittedly during the day, we weren't in the room). The rooms do not have individual amenities such as refrigerator or coffee maker. The nearby neighborhood has many restaurant options within walking distance.

Stay at the Teotihuacan Gate

This hotel is a 10 minute walk to the gate. We got up early, had a nice breakfast in the dining room and entered Gate 1 as it opened. Almost no one was there so we got to appreciate the immensity of the site and pyramids in an almost meditative state. We ascend the Pyramid of the Sun and were alone as we watched colorful hot air balloons drift by the Pyramid of the Moon. It is a large complex worthy of a full day of exploration.

This hotel is located on the perimeter of the pyramids. The hotel is well-kept, but the beds are very small (twin) and the beds are firm. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but the prices are high compared to other restaurants nearby.
Overall, I'd stay in this hotel again.

Teotihuacan is such a lovely place to stay at. This hotel in particular was located close to the first gate and almost in line with the avenue of the dead. Mornings start off with the sound of birds chirping and views of hot air balloons in the distance. On the days when there is a light shot at the Pyramids, you can step out into the road and witness the spectacle from a distance.

Great Location!

We chose to stay at this hotel due to being so close to the Teotihuacan Archaeological zone, it literally is within walking distance to several entrance gates to the Pyramids which is quite convenient. The hotel is simple but nice, there's a pool, good food at the restaurant, and nice staff. The room is nothing fancy, we didn't have much luck with hot water in the shower, the wifi didn't work anywhere but in the lobby or bar, the room didn't have a clock or coffee maker, and the beds were not comfortable, but again the location was perfect. Before we made the reservation I contacted the hotel to see if they offered a pick up service from the airport and they did have private drivers for hire which was quite convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a one night stay to anyone wanting to see the ruins.

Mosquitoes, dirty sheets and expensive.

We decided to stay here and the room was not ready at the expected time, so we waited. The room was for 3 people and on the time of the booking it only allowed me to reserve for one person, so my fiend and I rented separate rooms. So the booking system is not good. I got in bed late and when I checked the sheets they had hairs and dirty. It was too late to call the front desk and ask them for a room change. I was exhausted and I knew I was going to have to wait longer. Then I saw about 30 mosquitoes in the room and started to kill them all so I could sleep. More kept coming out of the bathroom, more from the shower and the closets, doors, etc. I spent about one hour killing mosquitos and I don't think I killed all of them. So not a very good experience. The font desk lady was stressed out of course, so the service was not the best. We asked for a taxi and they sent us a huge van that charged us 10 times what we could have spent in a regular taxi. So the best transportation will be UBER for sure. They will charge 20 pesos to go somewhere in town instead of 200 that we got charged for the van. We did not know the price or the vehicle until it arrived and it was too late to send it back.

The rooms are clean and full of character. I did hear a train pass early that afternoon and was afraid it might pass during the night and wake me up but that didn't happen. The night was peaceful. You always see someone from the staff working, taking care of the garden, or cleaning. And no matter what they are doing they always take the time to greet you. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The hotel is beautiful and clean. They do have wifi but I wasn't getting a strong signal only in the bathroom. This hotel is definitely worth your money. They also have a restaurant that serves delicious food. I am very pleased with this hotel. Excellent!

Freezing at hotel but great location re ruins. We were able to avoid long lines of traffic from Mexico City by staying close to the ruins.Just wished we could get some heat. Access to Teotihuacan re transportation is expensive 800 pesos by taxi.

My husband and I went to visit my relative in Mexico and we decided to stay in a hotel to have a 5 days many vacation. We chose it because of the architectural structure and the hacienda/convent appeal.I loved this hotel! .

Villas Arqueologicas was a great stay overall. The restaurant is a bit overpriced, but the pool and playground made my little 4 year old son very happy. They have large grounds where he played in between visits to the pyramids. The beds were a little hard and the WiFi in the rooms is variable. However, it is in a great location for visiting ancient Teotihuacan and enjoying the area. I especially loved how family friendly it was, but also the spa makes it a nice romantic stay too.

The place to stay to see the Pyramids

The hotel is walking distance to the Teotihuacan archeological zone - and this is its greatest attraction. The rooms - with traditional Mexican stuccoed walls and tile floors -- are comfortable, clean, with good bathrooms. The restaurant food was very good, although the service was a bit slow (it's the off season). The Wifi worked only in the lobby and restaurant areas.

Great location with a lovely & comfortable room!

15-20min walk to the gate 1 for Pyramid and you can even see Pyramids along the way...
The design of room is so cute and every clean & comfortable to stay.
Staffs are friendly and helpful..
WIFI doesn't work in the room but works fine in lobby & restaurant areas.

Walk to the Ruins

These Villas Archueologicas hotels are tremedous value. I love'em because they are found in places Mexico with ancient ruins. This one like the other hotels features a hacinda design with an inner courtyard with a pool and restaurant with bar. I think I counted five palm trees, beautiful flowers, a really nice pool and restaurant. Clean rooms with a nice stucco theme throughout. The hotel has a secured parking lot with a locking gate an night for no additional fee. You can see the ruins from the property which was great to me. The staff could've done a bit speaking English but made up for it with manners and hospitality. French restaurant is the best I could find including those in the town but the cusine wasn't very Francais but still very good. Beds are a little funny in the way they are placed in these kinda porticos that a tall person may not like. Best deal for the cost by far.

Very tasty establishment, great staff, tasty food.

Very close to the ancient ruins of Teotihuacan (within walking distance, approx. 30 minutes). The facility is very pleasant although some may find the rooms a tad small. Lovely dining room and interior courtyard with pool and covered dining area.
The front staff and dining staff are superb, very attentive and helpful. It is of course important that guest do there best to use Espanol.
Beautiful gardens and surrounding area.
Very reasonable price.

Pleasant place to stay but it was almost empty at the time which made it a bit cheerless
