The breakfast menu was excellent wide selection an American breakfast offered. Air conditioning worked well. We found private pick up service was a racket because the driver doesn’t wait and showed up early. The hotel was rude and scolded us about not calling the hotel . Checking in was not a welcome experience. Other guests told us the driver didn’t wait for them either.

We booked this hotel last minute so had to choose the smallest room in the hotel. I was a little concerned but I didn't need to be. The room was definitely very small but it was very nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, and had every amenity we're used to. It was a very cute and comfortable room. The breakfast was excellent and everything we wanted to see was within easy walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The bar is lovely with many choices. One of the housekeepers our room was rude and didn’t even do a mediocre job.

Location was perfect for us because it was just outside the restricted driving zone with an easy parking garage, yet easy walk to Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain as well as many restaurants, shops, etc. Also the metro station was very close. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable with a good size bathroom. Would definitely stay here again.

The complimentary breakfast was also a highlight! Plenty of great options to start the day.

As a family of six traveling with a little one, we did find the room a bit tight, with limited space to open our suitcases. In hindsight, a larger property might have been more comfortable for our group. That said, this hotel would be absolutely perfect for a couple. It would have been an ideal stay if it were just my husband and me.

Overall, we highly recommend River Palace Hotel and would definitely consider returning!

I chose this because I didnt want to be in the crowded centre. Everything is accessible and the hotel was quiet for a good night sleep. I had a small single room, perfect for me.
The shops are all around piazza poppolo which is close.
Dont know about pets, I don't have any.

Rooms are not soundproofed as advertised, no tea/coffee making facilities had to ask, very limited storage. Triple room bed is just a chaise lounge n very uncomfortable to sleep on. Air con not easy to use. Lighting as in most hotels useless. Plug sockets were a mixture and not many of them. Staff OK but they tend to Italians first.
Overall though really good location, facilities around the area brilliant

We had an amazing stay at the River Palace Hotel! The location was excellent easily accessing all the main Roman sightseeing areas! We walked, ate, and enjoyed the well lit city during the Christmas holidays. The hotel provided an excellent daily breakfast, beautiful accommodations, an amazing Christmas theme, and professional and friendly staff. We recommend this hotel without reservation!!!

It had lots to choose from, again the staff were very attentive and always ready to assist. I'd definitely stay again. Also, we really enjoyed the location, it was very walkable to all of the major sites and had a small grocery store next to it, the whole area felt very safe as well.

The hotel was fine. The elevators are very small as was my shower. The lights are controlled by room key, so if you remove the key from the slat the lights shut-off - in short you either have the entire room and bathroom lit or are in the dark. Also, there’s no iron or coffee maker.

The overwhelming use of air fresheners gave us horrible headaches and allergy attacks. The air was so perfumed it was unbelievable. Carpets were stained and there was barely enough room to move. The staff were quite professional and helpful, and the location great, but the amenities made it a poor choice. The photos made the room look far better than it was. I never leave bad reviews, but this was over the top.

Hotel very dirty and unclean for guests to stay in. No mattress protector is used which should be standard in any hotel; bloodstains were on our mattress which I took a picture of as well as the very dirty and stained carpet. None of the rooms had any mattress protector under the sheets which meant all bodily fluids of previous guests could just soak into it. I wore shoes in the room as it was so dirty. Took a picture of the stained and unprotected mattress as well as very dirty stained carpet. Very small unclean rooms. Hotel staff showed us more dirty rooms with more stained mattresses and carpet as options to move to. We asked for a refund on our remaining days as we wanted to check out and move to a place that actually felt comfortable to stay in and not a place that felt disgusting to sit in. Although we were on our honeymoon, hotel tried to keep payment for all nights even though we did not complete stay and they were unable to provide a resolution to the cleanliness issue.

The hotel staff was exceptional—professional, welcoming, and very accommodating. Shortly after we booked through Expedia, the hotel reached out to offer transportation services. For a fee, they arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport and later return us for our departure. It was seamless and well-organized.

Our flight arrived early in the morning, and although check-in wasn't until after 2 PM, the staff welcomed us warmly. We completed the paperwork, dropped off our luggage, and were able to freshen up using the lobby facilities. When we returned later, our bags were already in the room, and all we had to do was pick up the key.

The hotel has a grand, old-world classic charm that makes a strong first impression. We booked a small, standard room—which is exactly what we got. It was clean but a bit worn; the carpet had some stains, the mattress was firm, and the pillows were quite flat. While the room could use some updating, the service and overall experience made up for it.

The location is excellent, with several bars and restaurants just steps away, and only a two/three-minute walk to Piazza del Popolo with plenty of high-end shopping. It’s slightly farther from some other major attractions, but still very manageable. I’d definitely stay here again.

The staff were truly top notch, super helpful, positive and kind. Gave great restaurant recommendations and were helpful with transportation. The room was well appointed and spacious except for the space around the bed. Breakfast was lovely and generous with again great staff. Location was stellar for easy walkability and public transportation. The only downfalls I’d say for the junior duplex, I wasn’t aware it was on the first floor (loud street noise at night/morning) or connected to a quite pretty courtyard on the interior side, but we felt like we could never use it as it was often saturated with smokers/smoke. The room was on the warm side too but the thermostat didn’t seem to work, and we couldn’t open the window often because of smokers right below our balcony. I would definitely come back here if I could get a room on a higher floor. Positives far outweighed the negatives

The service was fantastic, the room was clean and linens were changed daily! The breakfast was delicious and had many options. The hotel is just a short walk away from a host of dinner options. Be careful, the minibar items are quite expensive!

Welcoming staff , decent room, unfortunately the carpet was in need of renewing. We had to request for our deposit of €100 to be refunded three days later. Reservations were very helpful with reserving local restaurants ( St Ana Ristorante was very pleasant).
The highlight at the River Palace was the bar and its talented barman.

So, we stayed here in 2019 and the experience was better then than this time around. There have been changes to certain things, such as breakfast which wasn't as good, although good nonetheless. The consumables were somewhat disappointing as shower gel and shampoo was of a much cheaper grade. You have to book early to get a decent size room and bathroom, otherwise be prepared to be disappointed. We had a lovely room in 2019 but this time around we asked to be moved, and although the bedroom was bigger the bathroom was rediculous small for adults. Would we stay again, yes, but this time we'll book earlier. The staff are lovely and very helpful.

Only criticism is the lifts - one ground to first, second down a corridor first to upper levels. Lifts are tiny for the number of residents and it's a problem when staff are trying to use the same lifts - gave up waiting and walked down four levels.

We took a cab to the colosseum and walked back which was an easy walk. Very good place and location. Bonus is that this place has an elevator which is nice for bringing your luggage up and down

Tiziano was my favorite. He was kind, accommodating, and very helpful. He made our stay comfortable and made us feel very welcome. We even had a problem with a taxi company overcharging and he called and made the complaint for us!

The hotel was beautiful and clean. I will stay here again wjen we come back. The bed was comfortable, the a/c worked well and everything was within walking distance.

Tiziano even called a restaurant to get us in because we were hungry but it was part of their siesta time. The restaurant was awesome. The staff made us feel like family, especially Andre who looked like Berlin in the movie Money Heist, lol. You want to stay at this hotel. You will not be disappointed. The lobby area and the courtyard were my favorites.
