Excellent 11 night stay at Wilson’s Retreat, Gili Trawangan. Great food and drinks (notably the cosmopolitans and frozen mango daiquiris). Superb staff and attentive service. Any minor issue was thoroughly dealt with within 5 to 10 minutes. Phenomenal snorkelling anywheres from 25 to 100 metres off the beach in relatively shallow water with numerous sea turtles between 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Recommend you stay here.

First, the positives... We stayed in a Julu room. The bed, linens, and pillows were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and sweet, and treated us very well. I appreciated that someone came around every dusk to light a mosquito coil on our front patio. My wife and I also really enjoyed having the patio to sit on in the evening after dinner. There is a lovely fan right above the sitting area which keeps things cool and keeps mosquitoes away. Also, the property's cats are very sweet. The included a la carte breakfast was also quite good. It was nice being right across the street from the beach and there are turtles swimming just off the shoreline.
The staff arranged transportation from the resort to the peer, a boat to Lombok, and a car waiting to take us to the airport. It was seamless.
Now, for the downside... There were not a lot of electrical outlets in the room. The only one we could find access was in the bathroom. The woven seats in the room when we checked in, were too low for us to sit on. But when we asked for chairs they accommodated us with some from the dining area. The photos of the rooms make it look quite bright; they're actually quite dark even with the inside lights on.
As the bathroom is partially outdoors (traditional Indonesian), that means it's usually quite hot and humid in there and mosquitoes are readily able to access that area. Another thing to be aware of is that the north side of the island it's not as quiet as I had thought. There are

Beautiful location

Firstly if you have never been to Gilli T Island you are in for a treat, what a wonderful location. Hotel was lovely and you can sit on the beach under the trees for your meals which was great. We snorkelled directly iff our beach and after a short swim we were in 5 metre deep water with lovely scenery. We had a room with private pool which was just a good size. Bed was comfortable and shower was in open air which was special. I highly rate this hotel.

Wilson's Retreat is fabulous. The property is away from the hustle and bustle of the east side of Gili T, but that is its appeal. It is a retreat and it offered us everything we wanted. Great service, friendly and accommodating staff and right on the beach which was just amazing. They were also happy for us to stay at the property and freshen up past our check-out time as we waited for our time of departure from the island. Would highly recommend.

4th hotel so far all my others I have 10 this probably a 5 service and friendlyness completely different to my other stays in Bali nusa and gili islands , wasn’t happy that I tried to get food at 10.18pm to be told kitchen closed at 10 so I went next door hotel who had same times but made sure they feed me instead so mark down on that part ,honestly I literally spent my time at another hotel and just slept here , prices they want 20 pound on every 100 spent service and tax not massive issue but most places have that included and still cheaper, would I go back no best front cramped and small tu must move away for better experience

One our favourite hotels that we have stayed at for a variety of reasons. Firstly, the location on the island is perfect for those who want to be away from the main harbour (where it is a lot busier and louder), while still having quick and easy access to any area of the island with the bicycles that the hotel allow you to rent!

The hotel has a restaurant on the beach front, which makes a great spot for breakfast (delicious breakfast!)

They also allow you to rent snorkelling equipment and even let us use the kayak at no extra cost!

We were in one of the Julu suites, and it was comfortable and spacious.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, which really made the trip special.

Thanks so much and we would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Gili T!

Stayed there for 2 nights on our honeymoon. Villa was lovely, only feedback would be the fridge needed a proper clean. Also lost the sun in the Villa and pool early afternoon (June) but otherwise was great.
Location was about 35-40 min walk from the harbour and busy bars which meant it was quiet but accessible.
Good snorkelling and location on beach was great with perfect position for sunset
Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing!

I stayed at this property for honeymoon. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. Property is located on the quiet part of the island. They have a private beach to relax at any time. Very clean and spacious rooms. They provide free snorkeling and kayaking equipment, which is a plus as the resort is located on the beach full of beautiful corals and turtles.

Nice relaxing place to stay. We booked 2 rooms villa, so we had our private swimming pool, so good to hang in privately with friends! The hotel is just in front of beach, good for sun tun and snorkeling (free equipment as well, such as canoeing). There are restaurant for nice breakfast and meal in the hotel! And rent a bike in the hotel you can use for all day long to ciclying around the island! So beautiful place. Definetly we will come back again!

Very quiet and cozy location on the North of the island, not your typical “resort” feeling. The style and setup of the rooms were great and offered really cool outdoor showers.

Staff were all super friendly and very helpful.

Great place to relax and break away from crowds, yet only a 15 min cycle to get to other beach bars and resturant.

Definitely a must to stay here.

Wilson’s is the most clean and lovely resort on the island. Staff were attentive and the rooms large, spotless and truly live up to the pictures. Breakfast was insanely good. Would not consider anywhere else if I’m honest as when we actually viewed many of the other upper marker resorts on the island they were quite run down. Recommend. Also right on beech on the white and prettiest part of Gili T.

We travelled all over Bali and Lombok and this was our favorite place. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we felt as if we were family. The food in their restaurant is delicious as are their drinks. The snorkeling right in front of the property is amazing! We miss having our breakfast on the beach every morning! We will be back!

We absolutely loved everything about our stay at Wilson's Retreat! You could not ask for a better location. We saw a good portion of the island and felt that Wilson's Retreat was hands down the best spot. Great food at the hotel and nearby. Great snorkeling directly off the hotel's beach as well as close by. The staff were so friendly and caring. HIGHLY recommend the private pool villas! Well worth the extra cost.
Seriously could not be more happy with our stay.

It’s the little things that make the difference and Wilson’s Retreat has plenty to offer. We loved the fact that free drinking water was offered in abundance reducing the need for plastic bottles. The location is superb for snorkelling, so much to see just on the doorstep. So while we had a fantastic mini break of 4 nights we are not giving full points as we found the food good but not great, the service very friendly, but not exceptional. The 2 bedroom villa with private pool was fantastic, but let down by swimming pool water with some water quality issues and slightly tired outside furniture. All in all a lovely place and we would most likely come back to the same place if we visit Gili Trawangan again.

Positives : It's around 2 kms from main harbor area, so you get really exclusive & calm beach front experience. House reef is great for snorkeling if you go around 100 mtrs inside, its quite sallow & safe. Great beach and dining on the beach is super experience. Staff is great and very helpful. Room is big & well appointed, landscaping is pleasing. Food is nice.
Only thing you sjall note is that it's bit away from the harbor area and commuting is not easy...bicycles road is bit tricky for night. Horse cart charges 150K IDR one-way.

Best staff, best hotel, best side of the island!

The best hotel on the best side of the island with the best staff. We had a great time here!
We stayed for 3 nights out of our 16 night Indonesia travels and this was my favourite place of the whole trip.

Coffee and brekky is superb, the accommodation is beautiful and this place is situated on the quieter side of the island where you can chill out, watch sunset and swim with turtles every morning. They have free snorkelling gear to use and cheap bikes to hire. Beds are huge and comfy and rooms are clean and bright.

We had a little drama and had to arrive at the hotel a few days late but the staff sorted it all out for us and changed our dates without charge. The staff are just the loveliest, they hit the balance between being professional, friendly and chilled out right on the mark. The staff made our stay so relaxing and they always had a smile for us, nothing was a problem, they were so personable and helpful. Completely perfect staff.

I really recommend you stay here if you come to Gili T - you'll love it! Thanks for having us Wilson's! <3

We had a lovely stay at Wilson’s Retreat. The hotel and rooms are quite special and certainly more luxurious than others in the island. The staff are so friendly and they all have smiles on their faces. Breakfast on the beach is breathtaking and something to experience.
Wilson’s Retreat is on the quieter side of the island but that suits us. There are a few other restaurants nearby that you can have dinner at. And dinner at Wilson’s Retreat is great too.

A place you will come back to..

As a small family group (3) for a short break - Wilson's really was the perfect \"Retreat\" - The staff & management were amazing, so helpful and friendly. The location is at the quiet North end of the island so it was very peaceful & tranquil. The beach is definitely best for swimming at full tide - (as is the case with the whole island) - & - the pool is a wonderful alternative during the low tide. The restaurant & bar serves delicious food & they have a drinks special between 2pm & 6pm that is a definite \"must\" for a relaxing afternoon We have experienced a few different places around Gilli T over the past few years, Wilson's has become the only destination for us from now on. Thanks for a terrific time, your courteous & caring crew made our stay everything we could have wished for.. See you next time. Paul S :-)

You wouldn’t being a castaway

Once a haven for backpackers high on magic mushrooms, today still an alluring institution for them plus a retreat for those with young kids. The largest of the 3 Gili islands, Gili T is a blend of magic mushroom can-you-get-higher-than-high-kingdom; and a lofty quiet getaway with cute kickback villas. Ditching the full moon parties, we opt for the idyllic chill. Wilson’s Retreat is cheekily named after Tom Hank’s only friend in ‘Castaway’ which is a volleyball. It’s pretty much faultless from the villas with generous space and an outdoor shower - the best way to be one with nature. All details are the cutest of cute. The food is just superb in taste and presentation. The small pool is classy and there’s a small private beach fringed with sun loungers and rustic dining with elegant lamps swaying above you as the strong wind whips on. This place has real character!

Absolutely stunning and away from the noise and high population of the east side of Gily T. The grounds were stunning, the food was delicious (included breakfast on the beach was very good), the snorkeling was fantastic straight off the sandy beach (just watch out for the dead coral on your way out) and the staff were delightful. Our room/villa was decadent. Large and airy and very clean. The bed and bedding were comfortable. The outdoor bathroom was so cool and the provided shower gel smelled so good. We loved our gecko friends on the deck too!
One tip. You definitely need to use one of those horse cart taxis to get there with your luggage.

Great location, good food!

This is a great resort! Gili T is small, so almost anywhere you stay is good, but this location was awesome because it was close to the busy area as well as the perfect sunset location, Padawa. The only thing was the rooms were not the cleanest (pillows and sheets were yellow), and there are a lot bugs. Oh also, like reviews before, the wifi is not that good, they should definitely improve on that. Even with that though, I would recommend this place to anyone. Also, the food is really good!!

Fantastic place, ever so slightly let down by a few faults.

Builders next door woke us up early (although not a lot the hotel can do about this)
Geckos running around in the villa ceiling were noisy.
AC system fan was rattling and loud (Room Muri 11)

Staff couldn't be nicer and overall great value for money, excellent location and great beach.

Horse taxi from boat drop off shouldn't be more than 100k IDR! (Apr 17)

部屋は清潔でした。照明は薄暗かったので、もう少し照明が欲しかったです。

The best hotel we’ve ever stayed at

Our 1 week stay at Wilson retreat was absolutely amazing, and the best hotel we have ever stayed at - it is the perfect combination of good friendly service from the staff and still a cozy and down to earth vibe. The location is the best on the island as it is quite and away from all the party hotels, and the perfect place to spot turtles is right in front of the hotel, so you can spit them while having breakfast at their beach restaurant. We stayed in the villa with a pool which was lovely and the rooms were beautiful and clean. We can highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return!

En faisant le tour de l’ile, on se rend vite compte qu’il s’agit du meilleur hotel de Gili T. C’est intime, petit, chill. La plage est publique mais ils font en sorte de trouver des transats pour les gens de l’hotel.
Bonne nourriture.
