Clean and updated room, very friendly staff. Elizabeth welcomed us and was always ready to help whenever we needed support. There is a praying room downstairs to be quiet and also there is a mass scheduled in specific days. And we were informed and provided information in English.
The place is very close to the Basilica/ Grotto.
We recommend staying at this place without hesitation or doubt.

We where very happy to stay at this location. We were welcomed by the owner. The room is in a central location, very clean and quiet. Walking distance to the sanctuary, fort/ castle, Bernadette house and all restaurants and stores. Small balcony to main street. We were able to leave the luggage there before check in and after check out. We will recommend this cozy place.

My overall stay was great, due to the proximity to the location of my pilgrimage. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean and felt like being at home.
However, on the last two days there, the heat was cut off, and some of the electrical switches were off too— and it was very cold in February.

I brought my elderly mother here to visit Lourdes, the grotto and religious areas of the environment. Elisabeth is a wonderful host and the property is also her family home. The facilities are set up for people who visit for pilgrimages. There is a small family chapel within the property. This is a small, personal and family orientated property.
Very simple, personal without television but that’s because I assume most guests are out most of the day at the Basilica at prayer. The main entrance is on a backstreet with a slight gradient and opposite the public lift. The hotel is walkable (15min) from Lourdes SNCF station and also where the Tarbes Shuttle drops you.

This is a small, quiet, and cozy bed and breakfast for pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of our Lady of Lourdes. Our room was large with a small kitchenette and a nice shower. The place also has a small and cozy praying chapel. The owner is a caring and friendly lady that is always willing to help and make your stay easy and peaceful. Take into consideration that during winter the city is almost empty and most of the shops and restaurants are closed so there are limited options for dining.

I did not realize this was once the home of St. Bernadette’s uncle and it was not a hotel. There was a staircase leading to the room- difficult to haul my suitcase, toilet was separated from shower and sink, need to step from toilet area to sink/ shower area to wash hands. No TV, or phone in room- amenities that I usually expect when traveling; I should have read more of the description of the property before making a decision to make my booking.

Location is at the center of it all. Walkable to the Grotto and to all the restaurants and other attractions. Easy check in and out. The room was spacious, clean, tastefully decorated, with clean and comfortable sheets and towels. The simple breakfast was delicious and the in room coffee machine was convenient. It was amazing. If you want a home feeling in Lourdes, this is a place for you. The owner, she always wants to make sure to make you comfortable. Breakfast and coffee are ready in the morning. A spiritual extension to the Lourdes pilgrimmage

Elisabeth was very accommodating and helpful in her recommendations. Brother John, an annual guest was also a delight to meet. This was the only place we stayed that offered breakfast included in the price... simple continental breakfast and nice not to have to go elsewhere for coffee and croissant or bread. Our bed was comfortable. The spiritual articles, pictures, statues... that hung on the walls and the small chapel made faithful surroundings. We were pleased to have stayed here and to have had all the experiences we had at Lourdes including here at La Residence.

Terrible Check-in Time and Communication

I understand that this is a private residence, but it should be made clear WHEN booking that the only time to check-in is between 4-6:30pm. I had no idea until I received a confirmation email, and by then it was too late to change the reservation. And when I tried to reach the owner to ask for help regarding the time, it took me a month to reach them via both Expedia (in the US AND France) and the personal email address of the residence. And even then, my questions were not answered and just shoved aside by all parties (the Residence staff and Expedia). Do not stay here unless you are free to check-in specifically from 4-6:30pm on the day of your arrival! And be prepared to have zero communication prior to your stay unless you pester Expedia, and even then, the communication is extremely limited. I was so incredibly disappointed in this reservation. We stayed at a Best Western in the end instead.

I had a very bad experience in this hotel as the room was freezing cold, the heater was nt working properly, the toilet is terrible, very bad breakfast with leftover croissant from previous day, only two items for breakfast.no housekeeping service to clean the room and to change the towels.No hot water on the last night of our stay to have a shower, the water was freezing cold,and the internet was disconnected at night.It was the worst experience ever, not worth the money we paid for the room.we do not recommend this hotel in lourdes as it will spoil your whole trip.

The hotel is right near The Grotto. The woman who runs it is extremely helpful. It is clean and quiet which is helpful for pilgrims. There is a very nice continental breakfast, and lots of shops and restaurants nearby. I highly recommend this hotel. There is also a chapel right inside the hotel, and mass is held there three times a week.

Too noisy

Very noisy hotel as all rooms are on the main road into the Grotto/Basilica area of Lourdes. I'd specifically asked to have a quiet room & was assured it would be (my head is badly damaged following meningitis & I can't deal with noise) but it was directly on the main road. The owner told me I can shut the double doors which did make it quiet, but then there was absolutely no air making it way too hot to sleep in the summer. The room was lovely and clean with an excellent shower, but let down badly by being so noisy.

Perfect little B&B with a delightful owner.

It was cozy, clean and quiet. A delightful stay that was even better by the owner,
Elizabeth, who made sure we were comfortable and happy. The rooms were small,
(Like most of B&B's in France) but they were clean the bed was very comfortable. My wife and I loved our stay and would highly recommend. Elizabeth has a beautiful chapel downstairs and is perfect for spiritual reflection and preparation for the deeply moving experiences that await visitors. The only downside was that we couldn't stay longer. My wide and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

the residence at superb location, near to cafe geneva ( you should try this cafe, escp the hake fish).. and the room and bathroom was clean... exceptional. the room has small balcony ( which is great) i dont need to on the aircon eventhough it was summer time.
great thing about this place is walking distance to the grotto and walking distance to house of st bernadette.
the croissant for breakfast was very tasy and crunchy. i dont expect great breakfast, just enough, and the coffee machine is there , as long as i have my coffee everything is good.
wifi doesnt work, but it doesn't matter for us, as we bring our own wifi router.
Elizabeth, the owner was very helpful,and friendly. oh ya this bnb has small chapel and small prayer room.

Small but clean.

The manager ELISABETH, is very accommodating and helpful. We included Lourdes in our Paris trip for one day and I will go back and stay with them again. She gave me the map and what to do so it made my whole day so worthwhile, was even able to attend the procession. I usually stay in hotels and this is my first at B&B, the residence has a small chapel on the first floor, it's a peaceful place to stay, small but it's the person who runs the place, Elisabeth will make you feel a member of her home.

This is a B&B close to and pretty much for those on a religious visit to the Lourdes complex. Run by the delightful Elizabeth, the rooms are small, the en suite toilet & shower room would be a challenge to larger clients, that said we found it very clean & comfortable. The Continental Breakfast is OK fresh croissants & bread, cereal & juice& choice of hot drinks. The best is the location which is less than 5 minutes from the Lourdes gates.

Peaceful place to stay in Lourdes

In preparation for my 6 night stay in Lourdes, I was looking for some place that was not only convenient to the Sanctuary, but in the \" old historic\" part of the town as well .My medical conference was held within the Sanctuary, so location and peaceful rest was top priority for me. Staying at the La residence Au Berceau de Bernadette definitely met my goals. I had arrived 4 hrs. before my check-in time, but Elizabeth, the manager of the hotel, was very gracious to let me drop off my luggage early, freeing myself up for some early sightseeing:) . Soon after making my reservations, I received confirmation from the hotel, with very good information on not only the hrs. of operations, but information on how to get there whether I was arriving by car, plane, train, or bus. This eased my mind tremendously , traveling myself from the U.S. Elizabeth provided everything I needed and than some , like a converter for my phone charger( my had broken down).She not only had a chapel , but 3 times/week, she had a local priest say Mass there!!! That was the best of all.My stay was too short. I definitely will stay longer next time I go to Lourdes.

Its a nice decent lovely place to stay in Lourdes. Walking distance to the Sanctuary at the heart of the Historic Village. Clean, quiet, with a lot of privacy. A most wonderful experience.

We stayed a total of 3 nights and found the beds to be superior and wonderfully comfortable. Other places in France in that price range have cushion/futon style beds but Au Berceau De Bernadette has nice mattresses. Then the location of the hotel is nicely convenient with just a few minutes walk to the Grotto. So for us it was just a perfect location. Further Elizabeth was gracious and extremely helpful. For example our rental car was parked legally along a side road and during the night someone had scraped the bumper causing damage. Elizabeth assisted me with calling the rental car company and allowed us to use her house and personal cell phone to make the local calls. She patiently gave us about one hour of her time to assist us speaking in French to all parties. I will highly recommend Au Berceau de Bernadette to everyone I knows who plans to head to Lourdes and if I return I will rebook rooms with her.

No Room at the Inn

The owner of the hotel was very friendly but unfortunately had no room available for us. She had given it away to another guest. Here we are in a foreign country, with reservations showing in Expedia, and when we get to the hotel, there was no room for us it had been given to another guest. The hotel owner said that she had conflicting information from Expedia. We had proof of Expedia reservations....Somewhere the reservation was lost, mixed up, or ignored. Fortunately, she helped us by calling two other hotels, one of which did have room for us. It was not as nice, but the manager was able to accommodate us. The bright side is that we saved 50% of the cost.

9 nights in the Berceau

I recently spent 9 nights in the Berceau. It is close to the Grotto and the station. Elizabeth, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. There is a serene private chapel for prayer and meditation. Room had a large bed,power shower, constant hot water, lots of towels. The room was very quiet, great soundproofing - double doors to the balcony keeps the noise out. I highly recommend it. It is close to restaurants and a large supermarket. You can also dine well, at reasonable cost, at the nearby Italian Unitalsi hotel.

The people were extremely nice. Gave us helpful information. Room very comfortable. We were delayed arriving from France because of train strike and they did not charge us for the night we missed, which was very kind of them. The only downfall is that since there was no lobby it was hard to check in and leave our back packs when we first arrived so as not to carry them all over while we waited for check in time.

Albeit the small bathroom, the service, cleanliness and the view off the balcony more than made up for the lack of bathroom space. As expected, breakfast compromises of 1 croissant, cereal, coffee/tea. I enjoyed writing my postcards on the balcony watching pedestrians shopping. Location is perfect. I was able to walk down to the hotel from the train station and is about a 10-minute walk to the Grotto compound

Not Enough Good I Can Say!

This place is great! The owner is VERY helpful and upon arrival will take a few minutes to show you where to go and what to do to make the most of your time in Lourdes. The rooms are all VERY clean and bright and they all have a nice balcony. The beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are very typical for France; small but clean and functional. The location is absolutely great. It is right in the middle of all the shops and places to eat, and is only a 3 minute walk to the shrine. Every morning you will get a nice simple breakfast to get you going. She also has two small apartments you can rent which are much bigger and have a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. These seem great for a small family. There is a beautiful little chapel in the hotel where you can pray. We traveled with a priest so we had mass in the chapel!

We went while there was a heat wave and it was so hot in the room. With no AC/fans, we had to open windows and it was too noisy outside to sleep. I think if we went during a cooler time, it would of been perfect as it was very close to the sanctuary, room was very clean, and Elisabeth was very kind and offered tips. We would use this hotel again but during cooler months.

This would have to be one of the best hotels I have stayed in for a long time, Phillipe was outstanding with his service, the rooms were very clean and full of comforts. help was always given without question. Argeles Gastoz is a very clean town indeed I wish I would have stayed much longer as there is so much to so. Food was fantastic, being a vegetarian, I was well catered for. Dinner and Breakfast. ! A few tips about this area, If you wish to get from Lourdes to Argeles, take the Bus from the train station, it is 3.80 euros, taxi is nearly 40 euros. most businesses close for a siesta during the afternoons and most Wednesdays are shut.

This is a small B & B run by Elizabeth a wonderful hostess. Elisabeth was kind and considerate and made sure that we were happy with our stay at La residence.
The surrounding neighbourhood was quiet and peaceful. The room was clean and quiet spacious . Attached to this B & B is also a small chapel which was also convenient. Would recommend this B & B to anyone; it is nearer to the Basilica approximately 5-7 minutes away. Just around the corner from the B & B lots of places to have lunch and dinner especially the Sri Lankan place called Amma.
Simple breakfast with lots of hot water in the morning however in the evenings, hot water was in short supply. Considering we were on a pilgrimage, this did not matter at all.

This is a small BnB, we were greeted and checked in by a very nice lady Elisabeth. The room and the bed are comfortable, a bit noisy (from outside noise) but not a big deal. The bathroom is a bit small specially the shower, but our experience with Elisabeth and the location of this place made up for that. We would recommend this place and would stay here again if/when we visit again.

Fantastic service and Great Location

Elisabetta made us feel very welcome, we had a self contained room with balcony and private entrance. Unit was spotless and super clean. A short walk to and from the train station. perfect location to sanctuary and central to all the town. There is also a small chapel where a visiting priest says mass daily for anyone to attend. Overall a very comfortable, secure and friendly atmosphere, will definitely consider staying again on our next visit to Lourdes.

Staff was very friendly. She told us how to get around the Grotte and the schedule of activities. Free breakfast, while very standard, will get you started for the day. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Elizabeth was a great hostess. The moment we arrived she sat down with us and went over what we could do during our stay. Good suggestions, We got a room downstairs. It was clean, quiet, and spacious. The apartment was minutes away from the basilica. Great location. Good value for your money. We enjoyed our time there.

Fantastic location to Grotto

Great, quaint B and B within 6 minutes walk to St Michaels gate! Excellent, friendly, accommodation. Not noisy at all, beds comfy and the little chapel is exquisite! The chapel had rosary and mass services too which were a bonus! Plenty of hot water for showers. Tea and coffee in room was a bonus. Elisabeth is a delightful, caring and attentive hostess. A very reasonable priced B and B. Would definitely stay again.

Our First Visit to Lourdes, France

The residence is located very close to the shrine, so that is a clear plus point. The owner, Elizabeth, is a kind and warm-hearted person who voluntarily guided us on 'things-to-do' and directions - thank you very much, Elizabeth. :) The room, as such, was very simple - something that can be acceptable considering that it is not a hotel, but only a Residence. Breakfast was offered but only some cornflakes and coffee. The two-things we did not much find to our liking are (a) the max timing to return at 00:15 (otherwise the doors shut and you can't go in) - gave it a feeling of a hostel & made us keep looking at the watch during the 11:00 PM ceremony and (b) hot water was available only in the mornings - our evening baths were freezing. All these points could be ignored considering that our main purpose was to be at the shrine, but then the review has to be fair and unbiased considering that you may book a room here based on feedbacks.

Just what we needed

The staff is wonderful. The room is small and the bathroom is even smaller. But honestly, if what you're in Lourdes for is for the visit to Our Lady, then the smallness of the room/bathroom are completely secondary. Everything is clean and cozy. Beware: the entrance is not through the address in Hotels.com, it's in the parallel back-street, so if you arrive late at night you might find yourself knocking on the wrong door for a while.

A Quiet Haven in the Center of Lourdes

We were most impressed with this tiny hotel and with the kindness and availability of Elizabeth, the proprietress. The rooms were spotless, and there was actually a lovely little chapel in the hotel. We had only one complaint, and that was that the address given for the hotel is not actually where one enters. There is a sign on the door of the given address that says the entrance is on the street behind the hotel, Rue de la Ribere. That would have been fine if we had been walking, but we had a very hard time navigating the one way streets of Lourdes to get back to that street. Once there, we found street parking easy and free in November. Elizabeth helped us find a good French restaurant one of our nights. On the other night, we had a really good meal with friendly service at the Sri Lankan restaurant across the street! Other than the incorrect address, the hotel was perfect!

Very clean and Very Helpful Staff

I arrived to a larger room (complimentary upgrade) that included free wifii, which is not a common freebie in France. The Manager talked to me about my trip and recommended that I stay more than one day. Throughout the experience I was met with kindness and genuine concern about my stay. Excellent value for the reasonable price.

Great hotel for married couple,

Our stay was very comfortable, heating in the room was good, and the owner Elizabeth, very obliging and friendly, we had use of the kitchen, which was very convenient, over all our stay was good, security is good, just to let you know, that there is a curfew, between 12 midnight, and 7am, the accommodation, is only about 5 minutes walk from st michaels gate, entrance to the Lourdes Grotto,
