I was pleasantly surprised to be booked into a suite! I have been staying at this hotel since it was new. It's a little dated but mostly well maintained and clean. The breakfast is good. A/C works good. The staff is nice, especially Mabeline! She is a joy!

Rooms: The rooms were decent. The floors in the hall were a little dirty like the carpet was worn down, possibly needing to be replaced. However, the carpets in the room were ok. The room was nice with a fridge, microwave & desk. I did find it weird there wasn’t a safe in the room.
Breakfast: It wasn’t a real continental breakfast. The time was cut short and some selections wasn’t great selections you would usually choose from (some sort of egg cheese blanket, small chopped smoked sausages) The waffle machine was under the cabinet, seen but not used.

This is now an OYO branded hotel. Background: (2023-2025) I have stayed here on previous trips and although it was/is an older somewhat dated facility it always felt clean and safe for our stay (I travel with a school group, so usually several teenagers and chaperones. Safety for those kids is a priority.) Most Recent Experience: (June 2026) Under new ownership. The smell of drugs was noticed several times in the building on the day we arrived. The rooms showed considerably decreased cleanliness, door keys had to be reprogrammed for several of our rooms (we had six) multiple times. The pool was empty, the fitness center was out of order. We had no washrags in the room, no bathmat, we had to request then wait on clean towels (there where no clean ones at the time of our request). Overall, I knew on day 1, of a 3 night stay, that I would not be booking this hotel for future stays. I don't mind an older but well maintained, clean, safe hotel, unfortunately this one no longer meets those requirements. Probably ok for workers & stuff but definitely not for single females, school groups, family stays. (Lots of people just kinda hanging around in the evening hours. Not saying all those were bad sorts but not an ideal situation for the groups mentioned.) This is my opinion, I paid fully for my rooms, no refund was requested, but I will not book rooms here again. A/C DID work in the rooms; the halls were 80° or more; hot water was not so hot; plumbing in some rooms did not work well.

The beds are always clean and comfortable. Other than that, the entire hotel is run down and not kept.
The vents are not cleaned. You can see the mildew build up on the vents and surrounding areas.
Curtains torn/stained.
It’s not clean behind the night stands/beds.
Seems like there is no desire to make the hotel better. I stay at-least once a year.
Water in the shower is not hot.
Very muggy in the halls. Air would only keep to 72 and was set on 68.
Food was terrible/did not look appealing. Not stocked well. Y’all can do better.

I booked 2 rooms. The smell in the room on the 1st floor was almost unbearable. It had a stark stench of mildew. The furniture (sofa and rugs) on the 3rd floor were just absolutely filthy with stains. The pool and the gym were inoperable. I was extremely disappointed.

Nice but outdated. Walls in room were partially dirty, so was bathroom floor (hair and lotion cap)
Caulking in bathroom was terrible and toilet was old with the white enamel coming off on the inside. We could hear the people upstairs walking. The smell in the hallway was bad, should use some good smelly stuff for the carpet.
Otherwise cleaning was good, nice variety breakfast. Staff was helpful. Not my top choice for hotel, but have been in a lot worse. Okay for the one night we stayed.

A stay at the Red Roof Inn on the bad side of town would probably be better than this hotel. The entire floor stank of mildew and mold, the carpet in our room was wet the entire stay, beside the bed was completely soaked in what I fear was probably toilet water. The carpet also looked to be stained from some sort of bodily fluid in multiple places. The humidity inside the room was so terrible we went outside into the Louisiana humidity to get RELIEF. there was no house keeping for the 5 days we were there. We went to the front desk to get towels everyday and unfortunately several were stained in a questionable manner. The beds are hard as a rock and due to the state of the rest of the hotel I was terrified to sleep in them. The pool is out of service and drained, as well as the gym being closed and out of order, the floor was covered in water and towels the whole time. The best part of this stay was when we checked out to go home and immediately shower.

This hotel does need a remodel and I understand it will get one soon. We got there, I changed for the pool. Pool was being painted —:( . Go back up, and my husband tells me we accidentally were booked in the wrong room and we are changing rooms, next room wasn’t clean, they changed us to a third room (a suite) and the staff was very kind and helpful. Rooms need a lot of help but for the price- you get breakfast and a clean place to sleep very affordably. I would recommend it for someone wanting an affordable night without a lot of frills. The staff will be very accommodating !

Positives: Staff is extremely friendly. No bugs. Safe and convenient area.

Negatives: Pool was out for the season, it’s May. Gym was out of order. Room a/c didn’t work, but they did switch me. In that one, the fridge didn’t work.

It was just for a couple days, so we made do. Would I stay again? Maybe if there were no other options and I was passing through. If I have a choice and could plan ahead, I’ll choose elsewhere.

On Saturday morning we came down for breakfast at 7:05. They were out of everything. No coffee, no waffle mix, no milk, no muffins, not even any paper plates. They did have some sausage and some biscuits but no gravy which we had to eat out of bowls.
We then found out that they didn’t have anything on Friday morning and didn’t even attempt to restock before Saturday.

The shower had mold all along the edges of the shower walls or caulking. Kinda gross to look at. Just something minor is the Kleenex metal container is rusty. Makes no difference of my stay.

I do want to highly compliment the young man that was working the kitchen for breakfast….he was the absolute sweetest, kindest man. Pleasant personality and very helpful when asking for things like yogurt. He was very pleasant to everyone he spoke with.

Check in was easy and quick, the staff was prepared for my arrival so it took 2 minutes max. The King suite was huge and was perfect for our needs. My daughter was able to sleep in the bedroom with the door closed and her own TV; while I stayed in the living room area working at the desk with my own TV to watch. The room was clean but the carpets had a couple of stained areas. Standard complimentary breakfast items such as waffles, cereal, yogurts, fruit, scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. Room AC was great and very cold at night, just how we like it.

The refrigerator did not work and had to have maintenance fix it. The hair dryer did not work and never got fixed or replaced. The quality of breakfast has went down dramatically since the last time we stayed there 7 months ago. I tried MULTIPLE times to call the hotel and always got directed to a call center who told me to send an email. This was on 4/15/26 and I haven’t received a response back as of 4/21/26. This was the only place I would stay when I came to the area, but never again.

The ceiling in our room was water stained and the bathroom had not been maintained well. In the morning we went in for the continental breakfast. There was no bread to make toast. There was no sausage gravy for the biscuits. There was no milk for the cereal. it was totally unacceptable and I would not recommend this motel to anyone.

Worst hotel stay ever. We only had one hand towel and one wash rag in our room. When I went down to the front desk to bath towels and more washrags I was told they ran out and there were none available! How is that possible!

Went down for breakfast the next morning at 8am and they were out of almost everything. Again how.

Staff said the issues were because they were booked full! How does that make sense? You know how many rooms you have and how many are booked so you should be prepared with enough towels for every room and enough food.

And then there was the fact the rooms were not cleaned well. Former guests hair in the shower, etc. There were old stains in the carpet.

The mustiness of the room had my allergies acting had my allergies acting up so much I couldn’t stand it - eyes watering, headache, etc.

Because of these issues we check out a day early - Saturday morning. The lady at the desk told me she would email me a copy of my receipt. Still haven’t received it. And I was charged for the full two night stay.

One thing I want to say positive is about the young man that was working the desk Friday night. He was really trying to do a good job dealing with a lot of guests issues. But they were things he couldn’t control and he was there by himself.

But overall the worst hotel experience of my life - and I used to travel 85% of the year on business. Just very poor management and ownership.

I had an absolutely terrible experience at this hotel and would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.

First off, the pool was completely unacceptable. The water was brown and visibly filthy—definitely not something anyone should be swimming in. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, which immediately made me question the overall hygiene of the place.

The front desk staff were no better. They were rude, dismissive, and acted like helping guests was an inconvenience. Any time I asked a question, I was met with attitude instead of assistance.

The room itself was outdated and worn down. The furniture looked like it hadn’t been replaced in decades—old, scratched, and uncomfortable. It gave the whole place a neglected, run-down feel.

But the worst part of my stay was completely unbelievable. While I was trying to get coffee in the morning, two hotel employees got into a physical fight right in front of guests. It was chaotic and honestly a bit scary. I ended up having to call 911 because the situation was out of control. To make matters worse, one of the employees involved actually cursed at me while I was trying to help.

This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Poor cleanliness, terrible customer service, and completely unprofessional behavior from staff. I will never stay here again.

The room was cold, heater not working and lukewarm shower-made worse by the fact that the room was cold.
Non-smoking hotel, but everybody is allowed to smoke directly outside the door so all the cigarette smoke is coming in and the first floor entrances and lobby smells like cigarettes so does the elevator. My daughter is an asthmatic and is allergic to cigarette smoke so she had a bit of a problem.
Tried to call the front desk about the water and the heater. Nobody answered the phone walked down and receptionist acted like I was putting her out by telling her there was a problem. I understand the hotel recently changed hands, but a lot of work needs to be done. There are a lot of stains on the carpets in the rooms and there was mold stains on quilt on the bed.
When returned to the room 2nd day, cards would not work went to the front desk couldn’t find the worker for 20 minutes.
They had fixed the heater, but they had set it at 75 and the heat and humidity made for miserable evening until could get temp down.
The front desk personnel leave a lot to be desired. Rude would be an understatement. They act like customers are an inconvenience. The only reason the staff didn’t get one star was because the other workers were extremely friendly and very polite. Came in one evening and keys wouldn't work and couldn't find front desk person for 20 mins.
Breakfast was really good.
If you are a non-smoker I would look elsewhere for lodging.

FIRE ALARMS CONSTANTLY GOING OFF!!! Checked in about 11:15 pm, was in elevator going up to room and the fire alarms started going off. Other guests stated they had been there since 3:00 pm that day, and the alarms had been going off repeatedly since their arrival, and the fire department had been there 3 times already. Myself and 6 other guests decided to book rooms nearby due to the fire alarm situation. We all kindly requested refunds, which all were denied by the owner !! Very unethical given the situation!!

Everything that I saw was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The front-desk staff were terrific, allowing me to check in earlier than the standard check-in time. The facility looked a bit tired, especially the carpets and furniture. The breakfast buffet was lacking some items that I would expect even with the label \"continental\" - there was no jam or jelly for toast; the only fruit was a bowl of small apples; and on my second morning there was no yogurt.

The water never got hot, the beds were Flintstone hard, the gym was not open, The staff was not very welcoming and rude except for James in the kitchen. James at breakfast was the nicest person you have on your staff. He is wonderful. There were very large bugs running around the hallway. There was no housekeeping at all. We had to go get our own towels and toilet paper from some little room. We will find a new place to stay when we come back next year.

The front desk clerk was unfriendly, although not exactly rude. He spent most of the time out in the rocking chair, outfront smoking. When I first got to this place, it looked like something out of a scary movie. There were no other cars there, and no signs either on the building or out front. It looks like an abandoned hotel. I did leave for a while and come back and there were about 10 cars there overnight. The place was not what I would call dirty, but our room was very humid and everything felt wet. The mattresses look new but were very hard, and the pillows were very very flat. For what I needed, which was a one night stay, it worked out alright.

The first room (233) the ac wasn't working, the second room had bugs, tv didn't work, refrigerator wasn't cleaned, sofa was heavily stained, pull out bed was terrible( looks like it hadn't been pulled out in forever and/or sheets haven't changed in a very long time. I had to wait 1 1/2 hours to change rooms. We could not get clean towels bc no was available at the desk both time i went to ask for them. .... to say previous reviews are 10/10 these are definitely not problems we should have had. The staff was absolutely amazing but this definitely was not acceptable for a $275.

Don't book thru third party like Expedia as they don't accept it and canceled my original reservation and charged me an extra $35, not to mention that I will not get my $8.08 back at Ibotta. There is also the fact that I have to cancel the payment thru Expedia as I am now charged twice.

Staff were very nice and accommodating. This hotel is going through a name change from country inn and suites and they seem to still be transitioning from that. Breakfast is the typical hotel breakfast but was cooked well and serving area and eating area was very clean. They did not have customer washer and dryer set up yet, but staff allowed us to use the staff's washer and dryer.the rates are very reasonable and close to alexandria and close to restaurant awe will stay here again if we come this way again.

There was no signage on the building. It was confusing.

There were 2 almost empty rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom for 4 guests. We had to go to the desk to get another roll. Please have extra rolls available.

The location is great for functions at Camp Beauregard. The breakfast was okay. And, the room was sufficient for our needs.

This hotel needs a major remodel. Its old and outdated. We stayed in room 233 a suite. The first night we had no heat in our room, the tvs didn’t work, and the water for a shower was only luke warm. Around 1pm on the second day they moved us to another room that was a regular double room. The water situation remained the same but we did get heat in the new room. The room was $181.24 per night. I would not have stayed if we were not attending a Mardi Gras ball at this venue. It's my understanding that the hotel has been bought and the new owners will be renovating.

It is concerning when upon check-in a gal is visible in the office, barefoot, feet on the desk and eating. Room was OK, could have been cleaner but the bedding was good. The ice machine was broken, and no washer and dryer on 2nd floor and the carpet is filthy. Breakfast was good and attendant pleasant.

I have stayed here for many years during the 3rd week of January. The facility had really went down since January of 25. There was mildew all around the tub, not very clean, lightbulb out in the bathroom.

The room was clean and every amenity was serviceable. It’s an older hotel that hasn’t been updated in quite some time, and it shows. I think the room right is comparable to more modern facilities though, which is a bit much.

The carpet in our room was very very dirty. Water for shower was warm not hot. Accent chair in the room was nasty. We stayed for 3 nights and no room cleaning was done during our stay.
Totally overpriced for what you get.
