We loved our stay at Alila Diwa and would absolutely recommend it. We stayed outside of peak season which meant we were able to upgrade to Diwa club for a really reasonable price and I'd recommend doing the same, if you're able to; the rooms are spacious and bathrooms actually feel separate to the main bedroom/living area, plus you get access to the sundowners at Bistro.

Our stay at Alila Diwa rounded off a 3 week trip around India and so we were ready for some sun lounger time, early nights and had already had two weeks of delicious North and West Indian cuisine. If that wasn't the case, I think we'd have been a little more disappointed in the food options at the hotel, particularly as there are limited walkable options nearby (GoaMiles doesn't operate in the areas so for taxis, you're reliant on organising via the hotel/a driver). The restaurants are nice but not as delicious as some of the cheaper, local places we visited in north Goa, before arriving.

We also visited the spa for a massage. The service was really easy to organise and incredibly well priced for a 5* hotel. And it was quite literally the best massage of my life.

If you want a beautiful hotel, time to rest and hospitality staff who are equal parts charming, equal parts utterly wonderful - then Alila Diwa is 10/10.

The most heavenly hotel, a real treat! Delightful, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful facilities and a very quiet location. We had breakfast included in our stay which was definitely worth it, the masala dosa were a firm favourite!
The pool is lovely and the hotel has transport to take you to the beach, towels are provided for both so don’t worry about bringing your own.

Great staff, so polite and helpful, and a lovely hotel with easy on-demand shuttle to friendly nearby beach and some excellent restaurants on the doorstep.
Beware: there may be a wedding happening if you're staying at the weekend between November to February so it won't be as tranquil as it usually is but they are an amazing sight so enter into the spirit of things!

My mother and I had a wonderful stay at Alila! Not only was the hotel beautiful, the staff were amazing and really made the experience for us. Everyone was extremely kind and attentive and made us feel very taken care of. A special thanks to Velecia who took care of the activities and helped us make the most of our stay, both inside and outside the hotel. I would highly recommend this stay! We went during monsoon season which had its own charm as we spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony with our books and watched the rain.

Best resort I’ve ever stayed at. The grounds are incredible and varied with a very large and amazing infinity-edge pool. Access to the beautiful white sand beach is by a road that is easily walkable or there is a shuttle that can take you (I did not use the shuttle so I can’t comment on it). The staff are universally friendly and helpful. There is a lovely spa in which I received a very well delivered massage. The only downside to the resort is that it is a fair way away from most other attractions, the airport and the old town center, but the front desk can easily arrange transportation to these areas if you need it. What a beautiful place, I recommend without reservation!

Beautiful hotel with amazing staff. The rooms are fantastic and so is the pool. The food and service is first class: special mention for Kasuga, Velecia, Aditi and Meenashi. The area around the hotel is great for gifts and restaurants. We had an issue for a couple of days with the noise levels from a large wedding being hosted at the hotel which impacted on the public spaces. However, the hotel responded quickly and well when we raised our concerns.

Let's begin at the front desk; Aparana initially and the Ruella were wonderful in helping us and making it a smooth experience. Patient thoughtful and always obliging.
The hotel is beautiful and tyre Diwa club side is so relaxed and calming.
Within he Does club the Bistro is a wonderful pool side eatery. It's team including Saurav, Bhavesh, Brendan and the Chef Arif were amazing. Food was excellent, the drinks were sublime and they really looke after the kids.
I was so impressed by all of them. It was such an enjoyable and relaxing stay.
I can rate it highly enough.

Great Property, Weddings Aplenty, No tranquility

The property is well maintained and rooms spacious, but that is half the story. The property has weddings all throughout February and most winter months, expect large crowds with blaring music in the centre of the property, by the pool and reaching your room with vibrating windows. Call ahead and see if they have a wedding, if they do, skip this property.

The Garden Villas and Balcony Villas themselves are quite frankly, not worth it, when the entire garden you have is shared by all the adjoining villas with no privacy, the photos are deceiving. Your better off at St. Regis or Taj at this price point.
The breakfast here is great and the service is too. Unfortunately if you take the half board option, expect to eat the same food at the same restaurant everyday.

The property at ALILA DIWA Goa is amazing - totally worth a stay at. The staff is hospitable and the property has a beautiful vibe to it. The duty manager also took care when we complained about a noisy wedding that was taking place there. The food was very good - the staff were polite and inspite of their not so perfect service at the dining room the willingness to learn and accept mistakes touched me as an individual. The food spread was well balanced with lots of choice for everyone. The flora and fauna at Alila is something to experience. The Spa is outstanding - very well trained therapists and an extremely hygenic space.Will surely want to stay there again very soon

It's a brilliant property nice cozy rooms .. perfect sizes not to big nor to small .good privacy. Best part was the vibes that the property has.... I would rate it as a good 4 star property..
Food was outstanding.. we stayed for 3 nights and we ensured that we had all the meals there the buffet was well spread n good yummy food ..
Pool is overlooking to farm..
Rooms are spread across nicely having its balcony opening to gardens ...
Beach is at a distance of 600 mtrs but they do have a buggy for it so it was convenient ..
I would rate 9.5/10 for all their services..
And would definitely visit this property again ..

We had a large room. The bed had a supremely comfortable mattress for great sleep. The bathroom was massive. Food was great and the hotel has an excellent kids activity area. All common areas were kept very clean. All staff wore masks and sanitiser was available everywhere. Gonsua beach is a short buggy ride away (buggy provided by the hotel) and there are water sports available there. All in all, we had a very comfortable and relaxing stay. We would love to stay there again.

Alila Diwa is a beautiful and spacious property. Our room had nice hardwood floors, sliding doors, a separate tub and shower, and a terrace. Housekeeping was attentive to detail.

The property is surrounded by paddy fields so occasionally you will see cows, which is a beautiful sight by the infinity pool.

Breakfast has a variety of delicious Indian and non-Indian food. The curd, masala chai, and daily fruit drinks were delicious! Be sure to try their masala chai from the chaat cart!

At the restaurant Spice Co, try to order the prix-fix menu. One order is enough for two. The okra coconut curry (Bhinde Calde) and smoked ghee dal is so delicious. Highly recommend.

There is a free buggy from the hotel to Gonsua beach. There are shacks (not part of hotel and you pay separately) where you can enjoy food, drinks, and seating. Just be prepared for shack employees to beg you to sit at their establishment for your business. If you want food, drinks, or just seating under a beach umbrella, pick a spot for service. If not, then do not feel pressured. Just keep walking and tell them \"no\" or \"later.\"

Spa service was super and the facilities are divine. The yoga studio was beautiful and the views were stunning.

Special Thanks: Aliston is a genuinely nice person and wonderful server at Spice Co. restaurant. We enjoyed and appreciated his service. Aakash was a great, welcoming host. He gave us useful dining suggestions, and gave us some historical background on the foods we were eating.

All the staff are excellent. Very polite, very helpful; can't do enough. A credit. Chandran and Saleem stand out.
Food is extremely good.
Room could have been cleaner especially the floors otherwise the hotel was spotless.
Always sufficient sun beds.
The dinner buffet is well catered, varied and wonderful? However I think that the cost of £47 for two is far too high when there are restaurants outside the hotel for half that including drinks. All that delicious food going to waste. The a la carte could be more extensive.
We still went there every night but there seemed to be few diners.

Hotel was amazing, the Spice restaurant is the best food in Goa and the staff from there are brilliant. Staff at the poolside bar, Edge, are incredibly slow. Very clean and pretty. New cocktail menu still needs a little bit of work. All staff were very friendly. Massages at the spa were more than double the price of the place right opposite the hotel. Seems like a big increase!

Check-in was easy enough but we did feel that we were being watched with suspicion which I didn't appreciate. It's a fairly late check in so if you're staying just a day, you'll feel like you've not got enough time to use the facilities. The pool is lovely and I like the recliners being in the water itself and the cocktails are really tasty. The breakfast selection was fantastic and I enjoyed eating delicious waffles, dosas and pastries!

Had my birthday at the hotel and was treated like royalty! Staff was extremely accommodating for our meals and had a blast at the Spice It Up cooking class. My husband and I enjoyed relaxing by the infinity pool and watching cows graze by the fields next door and sunset over the tropical trees. There was an easy shuttle to the beach out front, and personal car for hire to the more popular Palolem, but the property is so nice it was hard to leave!

Memorable stay, some irritating glitches\n

This was my 2nd time at Alila Diwa, Goa. I stayed there for 3 nights in the South Wing, Room#201 (first level). Overall, my stay was very memorable and we miss Goa and both Alila after having just returned home a few hours ago. But my memorable stay began with a heartburn. More of that, later.
Location: The hotel’s location is one of its best parts. Situated near the Majorda beach in south Goa, it’s in a very peaceful corner of Goa. Presence of good restaurants around the hotel like Camrom and Fishka helps.
Rooms: Rooms as well as the entire hotel are well appointed and rooms are large. Bathrooms are very large as well.
Food: Nothing to rave about here. Breakfast was decent. We hardly had food her and preferred to have outside restaurants.
What I didn’t like: I had specifically requested for a paddy field view room in the south wing as a preference. I had booked my room via Expedia on 9 February, 48 days before my arrival. Upon checking in, they gave me a very lousy room. It came with no view (well, just views of the inner courtyard and reception areas) at all, and the bathroom door was broken and would not close. I refused to take that room and requested them to give me a paddy field facing room. They shifted me after two hours finally. The new room was good, but it left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I was a repeat customer, yet they gave me a lousy room. A Taj hotel would have upgraded me. No way to treat a repeat customer.
Overall, the hotel was good though.

Beautiful room marred by mosquitos, service

I stayed for an anniversary and wanted to love it. The room and grounds were gorgeously decorated, but unfortunately I got hardly any sleep due to mosquitoes.

There were mosquitoes visible the second we checked in, and we called for extra repellent plug-ins in the room. Either they didn't work or there were simply too many bugs, because we were awoken in the middle of the night itching.

Management didn't do anything to address the mosquito problem, and overall there was a lot of friction in the service. Definitely not 5 star quality: we asked for some amenities to be delivered and they took almost an hour to arrive (the front desk assured us someone had been sent out, which was not the case). I don't expect to be waiting around for service at a resort of this caliber.

This is truly a beautiful place and I wanted so badly to love it. But I can't look past the sleeplessness, or the unprofessional way service was handled.

Unfortunately, we found a large, dead cockroach in our room and that soured the rest of our stay. We told housekeeping and asked where the roach came from and they said that it likely came from the hallway. I know roaches do happen but it kind of sucks to see a roach in your room.

The surrounding area along the way to the beach is not so nice.

Had a lovely stay at the hotel. Was a nice way to end our trip in India. Very quiet and relaxing. Did the dining in the dark event which was a fun new experience to try. Pool is nice and relaxing to enjoy. Breakfast was tasty and nice variety but both mornings seemed the same. Had dinner at the bistro in hotel, might have been best meal on trip. Very good. Rooms nice amd comfortable and large bath! Would return if ever in Goa again. Unfortunately didn't make it to beach which is supposed to not be too far away. Also there is a whole other area or side to hotel with another swimming pool which we discovered on our own. Be sure to look around. The bistro restaurant is near it.

Hotel is very good, rooms spacious and very clean. Facilities are ok, pool good. Spa treatments (massage & facial) are super recommended!! There is no activities extra or we were not offer anything else to do. But the very highlight is food! Dinner at Spice Restaurant is amazing! Every dish ordered was super good (love spicy).
Be aware that hotel is not straight in the beach, but they do have small car giving you a 2-3 min ride to the beach.
Located in South Goa, so if your main objective is to rest, stay here you will have a quiet and calm holidays!

Luxury in South Goa

The Alila Diwa Goa is the resort to choose if you want to be pampered in luxury. The grounds of the resort are gorgeous and the service provided by the staff is exception. It is 5-star all the way.

In addition to having a lovely infinity pool and a yoga studio with a view of lush fields and palm trees, the Alila Diwa Goa also has a number of experiences that you can sign up for. I made bread with the village baker and learned how to mix cocktails with the mixologist at the resort. They also have cooking classes and other activities. Both of the experiences I did were well worth the money and an interesting way to experience life in South Goa - especially meeting the village bread maker and learning her way of life.

Sherwin, the Concierge, also provided tips on where to eat in the village and what you could see that was nearby.

The area is in the countryside so if you are looking for the party scene of North Goa, this is not for you. But if you want a relaxing escape where it's safe to walk around, this is the place to be. I look forward to visiting again.

Nice hotel close to the beach

Check in was unique, very personalized and not your usual \"here's your room key and there are the elevators\". We received a cold sweet drink and cold towels which was most welcoming, and were sat down in reception and everything was explained including upgrade options. The staff are very well trained, and provide a great experience. The quality continued throughout our stay. Diwa wing was nice with its own little reception. Diwa options were great- happy hour/teatime snacks included. Room was spacious and bathroom luxurious. Breakfast buffet was good. Could have had more choice in Indian options, but all food was really tasty. Fishkas restaurant is right outside the hotel and has awesome food at a good price. Pools were great, not too busy either. Beach is fantastic and quiet. Lovely sand. Shuttles to the beach always available, we never had to wait for one. We were well taken care of right up to our taxi home. We were seen off by the staff - a really nice personal touch. The taxi driver even got us trolleys at the airport; full service till the very last minute! I will definitely recommend this hotel for families, although there's not a whole lot for kids.

This was our first visit to Goa and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, they will go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. The food is excellent with options from Indian, French to American for every meal. The beach is a quick buggy ride away and its also a fantastic experience. You can spend your day relaxing on the Arabian Sea while the local beach bars bring you food and drinks to your liking. You can't go wrong, period.

Nice hotel, mainly for pensioners.

I wanted to pay with cash, but they charged my credit card one day prior to arrival. I'm just asking, wouldn't it be enough to do it - or discuss it - at time of check-in?

The hotel is quite expensive, during our stay it was 90% loaded with pensioners, most should be from UK and Russia.
We found staff could have been more attentive.

The beach is accessible by shuttle. It's free of charge.
The pool is nice.

On day of our arrival, I requested a late check-out by 4PM. I was told, they try. On day of check-out, we were almost thrown out of room by 2PM; they said they are fully booked.

Fourth time here

Booked the Alila last minute knowing we wouldn't be disappointed having been here before. The hotel is immaculate, all staff are pleasant, polite and very helpful. Breakfast is great, lots of choice and again, good service. The hotel grounds are beautifully kept, lovely big pool, always plenty of towels. It is a ten minute walk to the beach and some parts are a bit scruffy, but this is India and there is always the shuttle bus to take you and bring you back. These run every few minutes. The beach is lovely, three beach shacks to look after you for food and drinks which are very cheap. The rooms are lovely, huge bath tub, plenty of towels and a great super king size bed with lovely sheets which seemed to be changed every other day, and always lots of bottled water in the room. Our room was on the south side facing the paddy fields and it was lovely and peaceful. The Spice restaurant is lovely, more expensive than eating out but worth it. Hoping to return again next year.

Lovely property

Lovely property, secluded but with easy access to the beach - via a shuttle or a ten minute walk. The only downside of the property was the egg station at breakfast, staffed by some of the most unhelpful gentlemen ever, making substandard eggs. Don't make basics like ham & cheese omelet or even bacon! But their lack of service was made up by the rest of the staff at the breakfast buffet. Loved the restaurant Fish Ka located just opposite it, had authentic Goan food and great service.

Something seemed off.................

I've staying here before and first time was very nice as a lot of nice places in Goa. This trip I arrived at 11:30am only to have to wait till 3:30 for my room. No apologizes and I went to the front desk three times only to be told \"it's not ready\". My main beef was when I required to rent a car with driver for a work meeting and asked 3 times to have an all day car driver, that way I could come out of my meeting and the car would be there. I believe they had no drivers or needed more as I was told they could drop me off and I could get a cab at meeting. I said a few times, so I can get a cab there and was told yes, yes again and yes again. AND, I came out of my meeting and NO cabs and had my meeting colleagues call and could only get Ailia Diwi to come back to pick me up, which is exactly as I did not want. I waiting in there office for over 45 minutes, wasting my time and was not happy. I was lied to as I think they had a low number of drivers and missed the sunset and beers at the shack on the beach and singlehandedly put the front desk person for my missed opportunity of a fun evening. Not the hotels fault but I was awoken at 2:30am from a loud group drinking and listening to music as my room was right over the pool. Had to call staff to assist and they did. So, I feel bratty for writing the above but I just have a bad taste in my mouth from the trip......

Beautiful place for family vacation

Good place for staying with family beach is close,good and clean .I stayed at alila diwa took 5 rooms but disappointed regarding complimentary breakfast charged me on 2 ND day of stay (w 123,125,127,129&135) at the bistro restaurant, thought I stayed at alila diwa, except this everything was fine.

we've been lucky enough to stay in many 5 star hotels around the world and the Alila Diwa Goa is by far the best one we've ever encountered.

From the friendly welcome at check-in to the tour of the room by the concierge, to the huge pools, to the sheer beauty of the hotel itself, this place is perfect.

We were delighted to find the hotel and could not fault it in any way. a perfect hotel.

We inspected the hotel prior to moving from another hotel nearby and liked it. We loved the pool and its surroundings. We liked the landscaping done with taste. Food in Vivo and the spice garden was excellent. It deserved the 4.7 rating

Lovely hotel

Lovely hotel with fabulous bathrooms and room layout. Very comfortable. Great pool and restaurants. Beach is close by and there is a continual shuttle back and forth. The beach was relatively quiet and had miles of golden sand. Staff will assist in making recommendations of places to visit and will organise transport. Nice shops outside the hotel - worth visiting. Great quality toiletries in the bathroom - and I am not normally a fan of hotel toiletries.

Excellent Hotel

This hotel is excellent and met every expectation. The location is optimal. Walking distance to the beach and other great local restaurants. The reception team were so courteous and attentive. A special mention to Sachin, Colin, Alexander and Dylan for being so friendly and helpful always. The staff at Vivo restaurant were wonderful especially Delmore and Rosch. The other restaurant is also excellent for dinner. Thank you to Clinton and Subhav for their first class service. I will definitely be visiting this hotel again. Highly recommend.

We stayed in a club room. Nice big room with huge bathroom. Special pool area and bar for these rooms, but preferred the common pool and bar. Complimentary drinks were watered down and the service was slow at best. Pool was only 1 meter deep and mostly in shade. Also preferred the buffet breakfast at the Vivo restaurant rather than the ala carte in the Club restaurant.
Shuttle to the beach was convenient. Overpriced hotel cars when going to restaurants in the evening, but that is expected.

Beautiful hotel, highly recommended

Stayed 11 nights for an amazing honeymoon in October. Hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of its overall beauty, scale and sense of space, incredible service, perfect facilities and the most wonderfully lush, natural setting. It really is an oasis of calm and style, without any pretension. You never felt crowded using the huge infinity pool and the loft room we stayed in was spacious and luxurious and kept meticulously clean. We were left two congratulations cakes and found lovely rose petals in our room to celebrate our honeymoon. Very nice touches. All staff were extremely polite and helpful.

The breakfast buffet offered a huge array of delicious choices. We mainly ate at two basic but brilliant local restaurants right opposite the hotel, which were much cheaper than the hotel's restaurants. The latter serve excellent food too.

A spa treatment is well worth booking. A real treat and great value.

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the gloriously long, sandy beach. A shuttle bus is provided but the walk is lovely.

We could have happily stayed far longer and were sad to leave such a perfect, idyllic hotel in such a beautiful setting. Highly recommended.

Spectacular view and SPA

We stayed just for two nights but it was really worth it.
The pool is amazing and invites to relax even if you don't like sunbathing.
The hotel has everything you need and still gives you the cozy and homey touch.
The SPA is incredible and so don't leave without having a massage or a face treatment. We had both and it just added to make it the perfect stay.

We found paradise!

We had an amazing stay at Alila Diwa. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, the infinity pool overlooking the rice fields was the highlight and the whole place has such a relaxed and luxurious feel. Our room was huge and every detail was perfected from the giant comfy bed to the luxury bath products. The onsite restaurants were fantastic we had some of the best food on our trip in the hotel. The staff were amazing and could not have been more helpful. We are already planning our return visit!
