Our stay at Hotel Bayerischer Hof Lindau was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The hotel's beautiful location on Lake Constance provides breathtaking views and easy access to Lindau's charming old town. The property perfectly blends historic elegance with modern comfort.

The staff was warm, professional, and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully appointed, with every detail thoughtfully considered.

The breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options. We also enjoyed the hotel's relaxing atmosphere and outstanding amenities, which made our stay even more special.

Check in is relatively late, 4pm. We arrived much earlier and despite the staff saying they would let us know by phone when the room became available, this did not happen and we were left hanging around in reception and having to chase. Room itself was spacious but view over parking area. Breakfast relatively poor when compared to other offerings from much lower spec hotels on our trip.

Got to the hotel after driving for almost 6 hrs. Was tired and the kid was hungry. They went out of their way to help me. Re-opened the kitchen to feed my child, parked my car, and gave us snacks to the room. At night, when we woke up at 2 am from jetlag and came downstairs, a friendly fromt desk man even gave my (always hungry) child his sandwich.
The area around the hotel could not be beat. Beautiful water views, outdoor cafes and even live music. What a gem of a hotel!

We did not stay long at this property but I am glad of that. It is very old and dated. Beds are two twins to make a king, if you like that. It is a beautiful location, across from train stop and easy to access. Breakfast looked decent although we did not have time to eat at the free meal aside from grabbing a croissant and coffee to go.

Beautiful hotel with lovely views of the lake. It was definitely worth paying extra for the lake view room with a nice balcony. The staff were all really friendly. The only slight downside was the indoor pool was very cold so we didn’t stay in it for long! Overall would definitely recommend this hotel if visiting Lindau.

Great Hotel!

I really enjoyed my stay at this place. The hotel is located right next to the lake, super convenient if you want to book a boat ride to Austria or Switzerland, perfect place to walk around from. The breakfast spread was really good, they had options for vegans, paleo or traditional diets. The rooms were impeccable, and the wait staff was friendly and accommodating. 10/10 would book again.

We had a lovely stay. The island was bustling with people but the hotel was a nice place to get away from it all. It was the first busy weekend they had since opening after COVID-19 and the staff were all handling ALL the changes we were all experiencing for the first time like champs! We will be back!

I booked 6 rooms for myself and colleagues. Breakfast was good and service overall was good at breakfast. Internet however was found to be generally poor. I was upgraded as a result but the rest of my party suffered the same issues. One of them was told to use the public hotspot from the city of Lindau which is only available outside in the cold open air. When challenged on this the staff member shrugged her shoulders and said that internet is generally poor across Germany which is not my experience. A 5 star hotel needs to hve better internet than this and needs to handle complaints in a more friendly manner.

It is a comfortable hotel with great facilities but the internet issues need to be addressed.

The hotel is right in front of lake and has very good views of the lake. Breakfast was sufficient. Unfortunately the WiFi signal in my room was very weak so I had to use my data most of the time. Apart from it, a really nice hotel for business as well as for pleasure.

We arrived at night to a smiling staff that recommended restaurants in the area. The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located in front of Lake Constance with views to the monuments that allows you to be in the middle of the action. The rooms are spacious for Europe and classic with a beautiful outdoor pool. The breakfast was great. We will come again!

An old beautiful top class hotel in a Lindau

The hotel in old but perfectly kept. Everything is clean, the rooms (at least our room) recently renovated, large and nice. Our room did not have a lake view but that did not matter for us. The staff was very nice and always ready to help. The location is perfect, on the lakefront (with a quiet road in front) a fantastic view, the lake and the mountains on the other side. The breakfast room with the view is really beautiful. This room serves as the restaurant in the evening. I believe that the restaurant is the best in Lindau.
The rates are rather low in January but the prices are generally fair. This is one of the hotels you would want to visit again (and again)

Our hotel room windows faced a hallway so that people walking by could see into the room. There were no black out curtains, so the hallway light was blaring in our room all night. When we asked for a fan, they said there were none available. The only reason I'm complaining is because this was a pricy hotel. For the price we paid, I expect the basics, a room that can get dark or light at my choosing, a room that I can adjust the temperature and a room that I can have privacy in. If I paid 100$ then I guess this place would have been fine, but I paid 250+$. Of all the hotels, this was the dissapointment. Save your chocolate pillow treats and invest them in helping people get a good nights rest.

Beautifully situated hotel facing the lake. Some of the rooms are big and beautiful with a great views which I would route five star. We were on a tour that advertised five star hotel. The first night we stayed there we definitely have a five star room. Once we joined up with the tour, the rooms were definitely three-star. If you book a room here, ask for A five star room with a view.

Grand Hotel in a beautiful location.

We arrived after a night flight and a drive from Zurich. Very tired. The receptionist checked us in and told us we could go to the room: the porter would get our luggage from the car and bring it up, meanwhile the valet would park the car for us in the hotel garage.Now that is what I call a real welcome! Luggage arrived promptly. After a shower and change we walked around the beautiful island on which the hotel is situated. Views of the lake, mountains, boats, flowers everywhere. Lots of outdoor cafes, restaurants and beer gardens. Only a short stay but a wonderful one.Oh, and the breakfast was splendid, served by attentive staff.

Right in the lake front - easy to get to, and very welcoming. Parking a bit of an issue but they have their own garage next door.

Very convenient for everything in this beautiful town.

No air conditioning in room was the only real drawback, but this has been an unusually warm summer.

Would strongly recommend.

Lake Front Hotel

The hotel's location can't be beat - right on the Bodensee and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The staff is professional and friendly. The breakfast buffet has a good variety of food and the room in which you eat breakfast is all windows overlooking the lake. The only problem I have with this hotel - as soon as you walk into the room you get assaulted by an unpleasant smell. We found out it comes from a drain in the bathroom floor that probably drains water from the shower if it overflows. We only stayed one night, therefore, didn't change rooms. Plus, we imagine all rooms are the same, but the hotel really needs to do something about that. Otherwise, a very nice hotel to sleep and rest in while traveling.

Loved the outdoor balcony/patio off the room!!!

Worth the extra money to book a room with a balcony/patio.
Our room was on the first floor (which is really the 2nd floor)
and we sat outside on the patio anytime we were at the hotel.
Views looking out over the lake and mountains were amazing.
Location could not be better and would rate this hotel as the
best choice in Lindau. Room itself could use a little updating,
but was clean and we were very happy with our choice.

At the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, my wife and I experienced an almost perfect weekend.

The location could not have been more convenient, less than 100 meters away from the train station. The exterior of the property is beautiful and we felt right away that we had made a good choice. The room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was the best that we have encountered in Germany. Bed was quite comfy and we slept well. Breakfast was top-notch, and we elected to have it delivered to our room one morning, for a very small fee.

We don't stay at many \"high-class\" hotels because of the cost factor, but this one was worth every euro. The only negative I can think of is that the floors squeaked when walked upon, but this did not detract at all from our experience.

We will definitely stay here again if we get the chance!

All aspects of the stay were great....except the delightful ample breakfasts served in the stunning restaurant were not \"inclusive\" as advertised in the listed price (unlike all other Hotel.com listings).....and instead were actually an additional (and significant) cost. This would have been good to know in advance. Otherwise this Hotel's amenities, rooms, views, locale and service were first rate. We would return.

A wonderful couple of nights spent at this lakeside hotel on Bodensee. The room was perfect with a view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The staff were very helpful and the Gourmet dinner was simply delicious. It couldn't have been better.

2nd time we've stayed at this hotel. Rooms are large and quiet. We stayed in the least expensive category room and it was just fine, king bed, large room and bathroom, and a window overlooking the inside courtyard. Breakfast was included as was wifi and both were excellent. Train station is across the street which is great if you are traveling by train, but because the station is small there's really no noise, congestion, or questionable areas. If you are driving there is on site self parking in the hotel's garage for a fee.

This hotel is directly opposite the train station.. walk straight from platform, across road, into hotel. Despite this, my bedroom was very quiet - and there was no road/train noise at all. No complaints.

I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is perfectly located adjacent to the train station and right in front of the beautiful harbor. We had a garden room, which was not the more expensive harborview room, but we had a great side view of the harbor anyway from our very nice balcony. You couldn't have a better location. The hotel is older, and is rich in history (nice paintings and pieces of history on display), but it is very well renovated and maintained. The room was great, and the bathroom was very modern with a big bathtub. The fruit and sparkling water that awaited us in the room was a nice touch. Everyone was very friendly and professional. We had an outstanding dinner in the main dining room. The breakfast buffet was full of nice items -- what a spread! We will definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location with charm

Stepping out of the Lindau Hbf train station and seeing the hotel right across the street was priceless enough. Walking in to be greated by English-capable staff and warmly received added to the overall comfort. Then, though the rooms felt a little bit dated, they were spacious and very luxurious. A great location that I wish I had more time to appreciate and look through the town, but I was in and out before I knew it, catching a 6:00 am train north.

Great hotel, in the perfect location!

My wife and I stayed at the Bayerischer Hof hotel for two nights during our trip through Bavaria. Out of the several hotels we stayed at, this was our favorite. The room was large and clean, and the location was pefect. We easily walked to the center of town, and were seconds away from the harbor.

My girlfriend and I decided to book this hotel based on Expedia reviews and pictures. It was only after we arrived that I saw our Frommer's travel guide called this the best hotel in Lindau. I couldn't agree more. Everything from the room and location to the breakfast was terrific. My only regret is that we only spent one night there along our travel route. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
