Hotel was immaculate and the facilities excellent. The rooms themselves were large and spacious with everything you needed. The only slight issue was there was no plug socket near the mirror in one room and in another there wasn't one by the one bed...but we could get around these.

Staff, food and the SPA was amazing BUT the noise from a function room right below our room spoilt all.
Did not stop until 1am a constant thump of music, we were there for a relaxing weekend but couldn’t sleep at all until after 1am. When we told the receptionist they were not concerned with no apology. Seemed it was us wrong for not joining the party.

great staff - good breakfast - comfortable room - stayed 2 nights and the first night was ok. My room had a window with gaps around creating a draught and during the second night, I was kept awake by a constant whistle form the strong winds. at around 4:30, a noisy lorry arrived to deliver/collect glass (not good) - just bad luck I guess

Room was spotless, shower was a bit temperamental. No air con so got a bit hot. Could do with bottles of water in room and glasses. Could do with drawers at bedside.
Buffet breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food. Bar was spacious with cinema screen and seating. Plenty of parking spaces. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed 2 nights. Really good hotel. Excellent facilities. Lovely breakfast. Nice rooms. The only negative comment is we had very noisy neighbours on our first night who had people in their room and played loud music from 12.30am until 2.30am which was not what you want for a weekend away. Otherwise would recommend.

Warm greeting. Nice welcoming hotel with many amenities. 1st night’s original room had a challenging setup and a bathroom that didn’t meet expectations with a tiny tub that made showers uncomfortable and unwelcome. I asked for the possibility of a new room with a walk-in shower and was given a much improved room with a much improved bathroom for the next 2 days and nights. This made the visit significantly better. Great restaurant and pub onsite was a pleasant surprise with great service, staff, food and reasonable prices. Special thanks to the woman at front desk who arranged the upgrade of room and the housekeeper staff and especially Ella who went beyond providing needed room supplies and cleaning with a happy demeanor.

First room we went into TV did not work so they moved us in to a different room would of rather stayed in room with no TV. in the new room we must of been above the utility room or boiler room or something and air conditioning unit outside our room the noise was absolutely horrendous we did not sleep a wink all night left at 6am to go home for some sleep

The hotel itself was good however we were not informed of the potential blasting music that was coming from the bar area. We were also on the top floor in a family room and I don’t think the music needed to be that loud. We went down to complain and to see if we could be moved to a different t room but there was no others free. Also maybe don’t fill the rooms above the bar area if it’s going to be that loud.

Going downhill fast and they really couldn’t care less about their customers.

I was born on the Wirral but now live abroad and return multiple times a year for extended periods to take care of my elderly parents. Village Hotel has been my go to - there’s not a lot of other options on the Wirral with a gym and on-site dining other than Thornton Hall.

For the past 18-24 months, Village has really been going downhill. I’ve taken to buying a big pack of antibacterial wipes on my drive in from the airport and giving the room a good clean before I unpack everything as I’m finding surfaces and the bathroom sticky and dusty, and not very sanitary. I even bought a hand held vacuum on one trip which I donated to my mum afterwards. But like I said, not many options of places to stay.

The final straw was this trip. My mum was suddenly taken into palliative care with not long left to go. I asked the hotel if I could cancel or change the dates of my next booking due to this and they refused. This is to a loyal customer who stays multiple times a year and cleans their rooms for them as they don’t do it well themselves.

Never ever again.

Our room was next to a staff room - not sure if it was a cleaning cupboard or something but every 30 minutes we could hear loud banging coming from this room and/or the heavy door slamming meaning we didn’t get a good nights sleep as this went on way past 4am. There was no air conditioning which I was surprised at as other village hotels I have been to do have this. Red stains (?!) on the ceiling of our room, maybe red wine (I hope). Staff on reception were really friendly, our room was just very run down I feel which let it down for the price. Location is fine to get into Liverpool city centre and the reception area, outdoors and bar looked well looked after.

Hotel and room generally good. But two aspects really spoilt my 4 night stay. Firstly £17.50 for a buffet breakfast is just exploiting captive guests.

Secondly a bin wagon came to empty the restaurant bin at around 04:50am making a huge noise and waking me up. However scheduled this before 7am at a hotel should be made sleep in a travelodge as punishment.

Myself and my mate travelled down to Liverpool for the champions parade, everything about the hotel was perfect after a traumatic encounter at the end of the day. Restaurant open till 10pm. Food and service amazing, the room was spotless and we slept amazing. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not a guest focused experience

Overall, quite a frustrating experience. I booked 2 rooms via the website for 4 travellers and wanted one twin and one double room. Given there wasn’t an option for allowing 2 different room types in the booking I then had to make contact directly with the hotel to update the booking. There then followed numerous emails and finally a call to resolve which seemed crazy given the simplicity of my request.
On checking in, we had to use the computer screens to check in even tho there were 2 staff at reception not doing anything. This meant completing the process twice (as 2 rooms). So overall, not customer focussed in any way.
The rooms were boiling hot with no air con and not possible to leave the window open given how noisy the room was.
Overall, a poor and depressing experience and I wouldn’t book again
