I used GPS to find this hotel and passed it because I thought it was abandoned. I literally thought I got scammed. I thought I paid for a room in an abandoned hotel. The original room 106 that was booked had a bed bug on the mattress. The next room which is room 201. The window was broken. I didn’t want make a fuss so we stayed in it after inspecting for bed bugs and mold. Any hotel room cheap or expensive I check for mold and bed bugs. The room smelled like cigarettes even though it was a non smoking room. So anyone that does not smoke had a hard time because the smell is heightened. My partner had to go to his car in the middle of the night to give his nose a break of the smell. Definitely need to be named motel and not hotel.

So, there is no bar/restaurant anymore, that’s moved a few blocks down the road and staying on the first floor meant the heavy walker’s footsteps above me kept me up a bit longer than I would like. Other than that, I have zero complaints about the stay, the staff and the property. If they weren’t full for the weekend, I would’ve stayed many more days and will definitely stay again! The midday staffer was super helpful and made my day!

Booked a king and got a double bed room, ac didn't get cold and owner said deal with it basically. So we didn't stay and went elsewhere, but told Expedia they offered us another room which was a lie they were sold out what we were told, and wasn't able to get any kind of refund for the 2 days.

Someone was above me walking all night long. I got up at 430 as I had an early morning commitment and they were still walking around. It was very unsettling honestly. The hotel was basically empty so I’m not sure why I was placed under someone’s living space. There aren’t paid rooms above the first floor so I’m not sure what was happening.

We made this our go to place for the fourth of July celebration we plan on staying again next year , only problem was there was never no coffee in the lobby , wish they would do a continental breakfast since the restaurant is no longer here , but it isn't a make or brake , reasonably priced rooms beds are comfortable it's not a 5 star but it is nice

We enjoyed our stay at Surrey Inn. The room was clean and everything worked properly. The bed was comfortable. It's a very sweet little place. The only thing I disliked was the air conditioner was loud. But it kept us cool enough.

No one at the front desk when we arrived, had to wait 10 minutes. Stained towels, plastic on mattress, loose wiring on lamp (would not stay on), no advertised breakfast, no one at front desk when we departed (used Ring doorbell to communicate with clerk), shower curtain had mold/mildew across bottom, shower knob broken, uncomfortable all around. Would not recommend.

I had stayed here because of the price; with my Great Dane. I won’t lie; I had high hopes for this place but shouldn’t have due to the price. I was traveling due to family emergency coming from Missouri. Was only place that didn’t have high pet deposit or weight limit. ($10 a dog per night) Several issues here I’d like to point out; 1) I was given a key card to a room that had someone in it and wasn’t my room; 2) lobby stunk of a odd smell, 3) excessive dog barking from others rooms. 4) cops visited and arrested what looked like the desk clerk. 5) the pillows inside the pillow cases shown multiple yellow stains on them (a habit of checking beds for bugs and cleanliness in any motel I stay in) 6) ac didn’t cool down the room at all. 7) looked like someone didn’t touch anything really when cleaning. This is not me being picky; but there was powder and dirt on the sink; and in shower 8) cameras do NOT cover cars. Only right at the door.. Overall I would never want to stay here again; I’m glad I didn’t have my kids with me as i honestly do NOT recommend this place for families. If I hadn’t drove 10 hours and struggled with my dane I would have asked for a refund and looked else where. Or even slept in my truck.

If you enjoy shady shabby places this is the one to go to!

While I was ok with the room. The thing that upset me the most was constant loud barking of a dog in 106 or 108 on the other side. I'm more or less angry that no one got the dogs under control with their constant barking.

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

When we arrived at the hotel, there was no one at the desk, and a sign that said the clerk would return shortly. I stood at the desk for about 10 minutes and then pushed the \"ring\" button on the counter. No one answered. After a couple of minutes, I pushed the \"ring\" button again, and nothing. I walked out to the car and told my husband, son, and his wife that I couldn't check in because no one was at the desk. They all proceeded to come inside with me, and we pushed the \"ring\" button again, and nothing. We sat in the reception area for about 20 minutes, and I got up and went back up to the desk and pushed the \"ring\" button AGAIN. FINALLY a lady answered and asked how she could help me. I told her that we were trying to check in, and she said that someone would be there in a few minutes. Well, after another 10-12 minutes, a man walked in the door, and my son said that it looked like he had come from the pub right next door. He asked how he could help us, and I told him that we needed to check in, and he looked on the computer for our reservation, and had me fill out a paper. After that, (which had taken about 10 minutes), I told him that we had been there for over a half an hour waiting to check in. He looked at his watch and said that it had only been 8 minutes. (I didn't want to go there, so decided to keep my mouth shut, as I knew how long we had been there). The fridge in our room didn't work, but on a good note, the beds were very comfortable.

First off this was a $100 a night room, so i wasn't expecting a five star place #1i had to wait 15 minutes for the owner to get there so i could check in, #2 window was left open 0n a 90 degree day & the air-conditioning wasn't working properly told the owner & he got it to work a bit better but not like it should have #3 apon opening the door i could immediately smell cigarette smoke, establishment was none smoking, as for cleanliness i would give it a C .

When I initially checked in I was given the wrong room type and that room featured scrap lumber in the window channel to secure the window from being slid open from the outside. (Room was on the ground floor.). I went back to the desk and requested the correct room type. This room had a broken desk chair, yellowed sheets on the bed with a mattress that felt like a cardboard box and mismatched, antiquated furniture throughout. This property overall had a shabby, run-down appearance and the entrance to the second room I was assigned had a step down just off the threshold that was a trip and fall hazard. I actually turned the keys in without completing the overnight stay, the room and overall property were that bad.

Needed a place to sleep and shower after doing a fireworks show, towels were stained, room furniture damaged, doors damaged, no secondary lock on room door, no breakfast option either in house or at the \"restaurant\" (bar) attached. Bed was really squeaky and no elevator to the second floor, which while normally not a big deal (we're able bodied) we were already exhausted and didn't appreciate having to add stairs to end our night.

The room was superficially clean, with laminate wood floors. However, there were chip crumps and wood mulch pieces in the corners and edges of the room. The bedspread was old with several stains, and the pillows were covered with pillow shams, matching the bedspread, but no pillowcases. We asked the front desk about pillowcases and they said “do you want some pillowcases?“ We said yes and they gave us some. The towels were thin, worn out, and had stains. The hotel advertised hairdryers in the room however, our hairdryer was broken. I asked at the front desk and they gave me one that did work. When we pulled out the desk chair, there was a pair of men’s boxers on the chair.( not ours). We returned these in at the front desk and told them where we found them. The property advertises daily maid service, but we were there for three nights and never had any service. The shower had very strong water pressure, but there was no way to control the water pressure. The water came out very strong and did not drain sufficiently so while taking a shower you ended up standing in several inches of water. There is little soundproofing in the rooms and we could hear people next-door and people walking and stomping above us at all hours of the day and night.

With a few minor repairs and better housekeeping, this hotel could be greatly improved and have a much higher rating.

There was no one at the counter, waited for a long while before calling. A woman finally came to the front that looked as though she was on drugs. Online the room was 59 but they charged me 75.00. That alone should have told me to leave. The room smelled awful. Musty, damp, like an old basement. The room was dirty. There was what looked like blood on the walls by the toilet. The bed itself was uncomfortable. The fridge didn't work. Never again.

Everything the reviews said was right...I just didn't read them before making the reservations - lesson learned! As soon as we arrived and washed our hands, the sink wouldn't drain, so the receptionist (dressed in pajama bottoms, sweatshirt and slippers) had to walk to the Dollar store for a drain snake. The room was smelly so we had to ask for air freshener. The A/C didn't work very well which didn't help the air quality. There were people smoking 'lefties' at the back door as we were going out for the evening. Upon returning, we noticed an unmarked switch on the wall that didn't seem to operate anything, so we put it in the 'off' position, only to find out it was for the TV service after we had to go to the reception clerk AGAIN to find out why tv wasn't working. So stupid. Then tried to make coffee the next morning but the pot was missing the tray to put the packet in. Never again.

I had asked for an electrical outlet to plug in my Hybrid plug-in vehicle. This was provided. Hotel is a pleasant property but is in need of some management tlc. Door keys are old-style keys, toilets are old-style 3.5 gal per flush ( instead of modern 1.5 gal/ flush), flies in most areas. Night staff were pleasant and helpful but seemed tired. Day staff pleasant.

Frig in the room had a lock on it and they have no keys to unlock the frig, if you don't have the keys then remove the frig's from the rooms. Ice machine was empty and dirty. There's a sign saying breakfast from 7-9a but there was no breakfast. There's a frig in the lounge with random food items in it and it hasn't been cleaned in months from the looks of it. This is just a place to lay your head for 1 night if you drink enough not to notice your surroundings.

Check in was quick and easy. I was informed of continental breakfast from 6-9. Upon room inspection I discovered the in room fridge was not working so called front desk. They sent a young lady to come check it out and upon her inspection she stated it was not working. I requested a working fridge and she said ok and left. One hour later when I left for dinner I again requested a working fridge. Sadly I never received a working fridge so turned bathroom sink into a cooler. Breakfast was NOT continental. Choice of milk or coffee. Two different cereals and two different muffins. This was just sad. Checkout was just dropping keys in a basket because there was no attendant. Very disappointed overall

Anytime I stay here there is never a microwave or refrigerator in my room. When I ask staff they are always unsure where to get one for me and never check the other rooms. We arrived to check in n no one was at desk we rang both bells that was on the counter no one came...then we called the hotel n the phone was behind the desk n went to voice mail ....no one came so after 45 min. A lady came in n went got some lady out of a room to check us in and they asked us where was the manager? The first room had some problems, a light did not work and there was no chair for the desk. So they \"upgraded\" me. This room had a king sized bed, but the coffee pot did not work. They replaced it and the replacement did not work. It has more of a boarding house feel than a hotel. There seem to be a lot of \"regulars\". The restaurant/bar has amazing food and gets a lot of customers. The hotel side seems to be less of a priority, but still ok if your not expecting much.

They only had us for one night instead of 3. Hotel was completely booked. We had to wait two hours for a no show to get a room. I reserved a king bed since it was my and my husbands anniversary. The room they gave us had two very small beds so we couldn't even sleep together. There was cat litter on the bathroom floor. We did not have any towels or washclothes so had to go get some. The condition of the room itself was aweful. Stains on walls and carpet. Wallpaper torn off in places.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Never write negative reviews but this one is the exception. The staff were under the influence, the rooms were beyond dirty and over all the hotel should not be open. Stayed one night and left with no refund for the remaining night. Didnt care it was so bad.
