The building has good bones. The wall upholstery had some holes in it. The elevator carpet needs to be replaced. Kind of expensive with those problems. I came to breakfast at 9:00 and the potatoes were almost empty. The waffles were very substandard. Milk was fine cereal was good. Good juices. Air conditioning worked fine. Front desk person very kind and pleasant but not well supported to make their own decisions. Lots of rules repeatedly posted. Maybe a reflection of the clientele or maybe a reflection of the management. Not our best experience at a Wyndom.

Outside property rough. Lobby nice. Room nasty, carpet very soiled, beyond dirty, all furniture all scraped and looked like chewed on. Headboard on both beds shredded and dirty. Moldy mildew smell. I just felt dirty just standing in the room. We only stayed 5 minutes in room before we felt we had to get out of there before we caught something. Checked out 5 minutes after checking in. Felt like an hourly rate hotel, not some place you should bring your kids to. Pool was closed, desk person said closed permanently, not just for “repairs” as advertised. Hotel Should be closed fumigated and totally renovated from scratch, instead of the promises of renovation”soon” as stated on the website for the past 3 years. Do not recommend at all. Just ugh!

The hotel is old. Most of the reviews state that plainly, and I understand they are going to be starting a remodel soon. The pool is permanently closed, I assume until the remodel.With all of that said the room was very comfortable, the bed slept well, overall a positive stay.

The hotel rooms need to be updated. There were carpet stains on the floor and water stains on the ceiling. All the furniture in the room was old, scratched, and chipped. The hair dryer didn’t work and there was hair in the tub when we arrived. The price was reasonable so with the conditions of the rooms, I didn’t complain. For the cost, property landscaping was embarrassing, front desk staff was a bit unprofessional, sink in hotel room didn't drain properly in bathroom. Only one regular coffee packet was in room, need two. This hotel has a lot of potential, as rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and updates are nice enough. Upkeep of property and professionalism of staff needs addressed.

Air conditioner did not have cold air. Originally assumed it was on fan when we arrived checked later it was suppose to on high setting. Turned it to off setting didn’t turn off but the knob twisted up it was broken and was wrapped the electrical tape to keep it on. Temp side seemed to be the same way. SO I WOULD SAY HOTEL WAS AWARE OFF THIS AND STILL USED. This is totally unacceptable. The girl at check in was amazing. If they give you keys to room 409 ask if air conditioning is repaired properly.

In desperate need of updating, along with hall carpet and walls. Well worn. Loose tiles in bathroom floor. No ice machine in space where it would have been located. No bedspread covering. Another white sheet covered the blanket on bed. Pillows were full and comfy. Went down for the provided breakfast next morning at 8:15. Told breakfast was from 6:30-9:30. No hot food left in chafing dishes except sausage patties. Told by staff it was all gone. Only had 2 bags to put out. Assume “construction crew” staying there are before starting their day. Seems the management would have planned for others knowing how much they eat during the duration of their stay. Juice machine had an out of order sign. Which included the water. Told we could get a bottle at front desk. Went there and upon checking, they were out of bottled water, but there was a drinking fountain down the hall. The pool was also closed for “maintenance” which we knew based on other reviews, but didn’t plan on using so was ok.
Would say this hotel looks like it intends to close soon with all of the repairs and “out of” items noted. Staff were kind, but sadly for them probably deal with a lot of unhappy guests.

The staff is great but the hotel is old and run down. Pipes burst while I was staying there. They had to ask everyone to leave since they had to shut off the main. Fire marshal won't let you stay without fire safety equipment.

Unfortunately it was extremely cold out and the cold air just poured in around the heater/ac unit. The unit ran and ran just to keep the room warm. My first stay at this location and if I need to be in the area again I will stay here again. Online check-in allowed me to go directly to my room when I arrived and the staff was very accommodating and professional. Room was spacious, clean and the be was comfortable. The Hotel was clean if somewhat run down. It would probably be good for a one night stay but we stayed 7 days. There was maid service the second day because we filled out the card no more until Friday from Saturday, Not even to dump the trash. Had to go to main desk to get big trash bag and no card to request maid service. Also had to go to main desk to get towels and toilet paper as nothing was checked. Have traveled the world with Military Dad and don't necessarily expect perfection but never saw a hotel that didn't at least empty the trash and fill the toilet paper. Also no hot items for breakfast 2 of the 7 days. Luckily Ashland had a few restaurants open Thanksgiving morning. Desk clerk only apologized the first morning and then treated it like it was normal. Never again.

Checked in late evening after all day drive. Very tired. Parking lot empty. Lobby and breakfast area appeared clean. Carpets in room 212 were disgusting. Did not want to take shoes off. Carpet in elevator appeared to be 50 years old and never cleaned. Pool was beautiful. Paint/wall paper in hallway were damaged all along hallway as if damaged by luggage carrier. Breakfast food was OK but all bread products were in individual baggies with date on baggies with magic marker. Watched guest look at this and walk away. Went to check out and there were no luggage carriers available and there were only 3 cars in the parking lot. Next question.... if there were only 3 cars in lot, assume hotel fairly empty, was the room they gave us the only room available ?? I would give rooms out by the condition of the room. 212 should have been the last room given out. Will not stat here ever again....and you should inspect this property before you list it and risk your reputation. Does Wyngate or Wyndham have an inspection team before their name goes on the building

We used to stay here when it was a Holiday Inn Express. We will no longer stay here. The front door did not open automatically. Breakfast was HORRIBLE. Shower was old, stained, not hot, came out like you turned on the tap not a shower. Wallpaper appeared to be coming off. Furniture was old & scratched up. Need I go on? If we had not paid for both nights we would not have stayed for fear of losing our money. Very Disappointed

Pleasant staff and just the right breakfast choices. My only complaint would be the guest immediately above my room (310). They appeared to have young children who ran back and forth in the room early in the AM and later in the evening. They may have requested a room on an upper floor but would recommend placing families with young children on the ground floor. Not a game changer but was a little annoying.

Exhausted traveler deals with flu while waiting
Coming off a 4-day conference experience in Cleveland, I had come down with a terrible flu that made me miss the last day entirely. I had pre-planned to stay here on my way back to Dayton but showed up early given my state. In my experience, almost all hotels will allow an early show, but this time was not to be. I was barely able to manage the wait. The bed was a bit soft and I couldn't figure out the temperature controls. The bed coverings were light, so I eventually doubled them over to give me more warmth. Still I shivered through the miserable night with a high fever. The breakfast was mediocre. Staff was professional though not friendly or sympathetic.

Worst hotel we have ever stayed at. 2 beds broke in two different rooms. Extremely dirty. Constant trash in the common areas and outside. Staff loitered outside smoking. No air conditioning in lobby or hallways. Lobby doors were left open 24 hours a day with bugs visibly running in through the open doors. We were told on the weekend that breakfast was until 10. Saturday morning it stopped at 8:30 and we were unable to get anything. Sunday it went until 10:30. Everything was filthy or broken. Worst stay ever.

We enjoyed our stay, for the first part. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. However, we changed rooms for the next few nights and the bed was not comfortable. Also, there was no coffee machine in the room, and no safe.
The 3 mornings that Lori was taking care of serving breakfast were great. She served different hot breakfasts every day with a smile and a warm welcome.

Hotel did NOT match pictures on hotels.com. Room was terrible - stains all over furniture and carpets, as well as toilet. It was disgusting. Had a king bed and only got 2 flimsy pillows. When we asked for more, we were told they didn’t have any more pillows.
We left as early as possible the next day and will never stay here again.
