We were very pleased with our stay at this resort, now called Dreams Cap Cana. The staff were so friendly which made our visits to the pools, beach, restaurants and bars very comfortable. Specific staff members Alvero, Felix, Naftaly and Elisa stand out as great examples of the welcoming, friendly and helpful personnel that we encountered. The pools, beach and rooms were clean. With the low number of guests, we often felt like we had the pools and beach to ourselves. We would definitely visit again. Highly recommend!

This property is now Dreams Cap Cana (under the Hyatt properties). It was amazing! Starting with our helpful Concierge Jorge who took great care of us! Franklin- bartended every evening in the Preferred Bar and seeing Geidy and Ruth each morning at the Buffet (greeting us by name!) was a joy! Highly recommend Dreams Cap Cana in Punta Cana!

That was our best experience in a Punta Cana hotel by far. We went to celebrate birthday and anniversary and we had a great time. Hotel, staff, pools, bars, dining options, everything was great. The check in process was smooth with Preferred front desk agent Luis. We stayed at the Villas and Alvaro was our assigned butler, he did a great job. Our housekeeper (Betania) did also a great job. In the Villas pool bar, our bartender Emanuel was amazing, as well as the pool butlers in the Preferred pool (Yoenfry, Johan, Alexander and Christopher). In the buffet during breakfast and lunch, our servers (Nataly, Elisa and Geidy) did also great. Finally, our spa experience was one of the best we ever had. Leoncia and Olga were amazing. Overall it was a great experience and we'll be going back next year.

From the moment we arrived at this breathtaking resort, we were welcomed with warmth and exceptional hospitality. The reception staff, especially Ledriannys, ensured our check-in was seamless and made us feel like VIP guests from the start. The resort’s amenities are nothing short of spectacular. The pools are pristine, and the staff go above and beyond to make sure every guest is comfortable, whether it’s by delivering drinks with a smile or setting up the perfect poolside experience. The entertainment team brought so much energy and joy to our stay. Their enthusiasm was contagious, making every show, activity, and event an unforgettable experience. Whether it was live performances, games, or themed nights, they ensured guests were always entertained. The food at the resort is a culinary delight, with a variety of dining options to suit all tastes. The buffet was always fresh and well-stocked. The coffee shop was a daily highlight, offering rich, flavorful coffee and delectable pastries. The staff provided exceptional service, making our mornings, afternoon and evening even better with their friendly smiles and expert coffee-making skills.
The resort’s bars were equally impressive, serving top-notch cocktails and refreshing beverages. The bartenders were always engaging, ensuring every drink was made to perfection. This resort is truly a paradise, but what sets it apart is the incredible staff who make every guest feel special.

Great property if you want a quiet stay. Not much for young people to do, but lovely if you want a relaxing quiet vacation. Clean resort and amazing staff. Beach needs work (in progress). They need to have more evening activities for adults. i.e pool table, foosball, casino, dark, pinball, arcade games, board games ect.. Miguel at the Pickleball Courts was awesome.

we booked back when it was still margaritaville and not dreams. when we arrived, we were greeted by kind people and that stayed the same throughout the visit. everyone was so nice and always said hello. a few issues we had (very small, not a big deal): our tv did not work which was fine since we didn’t stay in the room long but it would’ve been nice to watch before bed; we were under the impression when booking that it was adults only, but there were many kids around. it didn’t ruin our trip but we had gone with the idea it would be adults only. some of the restaurants are only open a few days of the week, so we never got to try the Caribbean place which my boyfriend really wanted to try. aside from all that, the food was good, everything was clean. our butler was soooo kind and helpful. the beach right outside the resort is rocky so we didn’t get to swim in it much but we just walked a bit and found a better swim area. again, not a big deal for us. overall, it was a great stay and we would definitely recommend to others & come back as well!

No accessible beach within the resort, Machine work braking up rocks caused the area with cabanas and chairs unusable. The resort is going through a transition from Margaritaville to Dreams which showed with the staff not being trained. I sent several emails only because they keep transferring the complaint but finally after being
close to being called a liar because we were told by the front desk that no changes from Margaritaville to Dreams would take till place 6/25. Which wasn’t the case. We were also told we should have read the review about the beach… So here your warning. It’s in transition and you should past this resort by till the transition is complete probably 2026/27 it’s no dream, although the layout and resort is beautiful the staff and food were inconstant.

Everything and everyone there was exceptional! ESPECIALLY our Butler Modesto! When we arrived to the Resort we found out that The name of the property had been changed to Dreams Cap Cana… which was fine, then we found out we had been UPGRADED to Preferred Guests that was the icing on our Anniversary CAKE! EVERYTHING from there was TOP TIER! This was the BEST Anniversary vacation to date! The Staff was EVERYTHING to ask for during your vacation. We have NOT 1 thing bad to say about Dreams Cap Cana! We hope to visit again soon in the near future and will request Modesto as out Butler again 20 out of 10!!!

More like a 3*, definitely not 4 or 5.

My observations:
Staff - Servers and bartenders very nice, however you will be constantly solicited by staff aggressively selling excursions, upgraded food and alcohol, spa services, and vacation club. While sitting by the pool, we were approached by someone every 30 mins which got quite annoying after the first day. You will also be offered a resort credit to sit through a vacation club presentation. Don’t fall for it! Our room also had concierge service, but I really don’t know what their function is, as no reservations are required for dining.

Rooms - Our room was basic, but had a nice ocean-view balcony and an upscale bathroom with soaker tub and rain shower. All sounds great except that tub and shower were exposed to the rest of the room which could make getting washed a little awkward depending on who you are sharing a room with. You will have zero privacy. At least the toilet was in a separate water closet.
If your room is in the same building as the main bar as ours was, be prepared to not get to sleep until after midnight as the nightly entertainment is outside in front of the bar. Entertainment starts at 8pm and moves inside to the sports bar/night club around midnight.

Food - Food was just ok, more like 3 star than 5. Buffet had lots of options so we always ate well, especially at breakfast. Other restaurants were hit and miss.
Entertainment - Typical resort singing/dancing, ok but nothing memorable.

Review of Dreams Cana Resort (March 6 - March 10)

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dreams Cana Resort from March 6 to March 10, and overall, it was a beautiful experience. Upon arrival, the resort welcomed us with open arms, creating an inviting atmosphere that set the tone for our stay.

The food was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip. Every meal was delicious, offering a variety of options that catered to different tastes. I truly appreciated the quality of the dining experience, which contributed to the overall enjoyment of our visit.

What stood out the most was the staff. Every employee we encountered was respectful, friendly, and genuinely eager to ensure we had an outstanding stay. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home.

However, I must mention that the entertainment aspect of the resort left something to be desired. The entertainment options were not very engaging, and I noticed that the clientele skewed towards an older demographic. The nightclub often felt empty, and the sports bar rarely had patrons, which was a bit disheartening. If you're looking for lively nightlife or dynamic entertainment, this might not be the place for you.

That said, if your goal is relaxation, Dreams Cana Resort is perfect. The serene environment is ideal for unwinding and enjoying some peace and quiet.

Overall, I would give my stay a solid five stars. The stunning resort, delicious food, and exceptional staff made for a memorable getaway.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dreams Cap Cana Resort, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience.The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect, and their hospitality truly made all the difference.

A special mention must go to Victor and Yoenfry, two exceptional staff members who made our time at the Preferred Pool unforgettable. Their attentiveness, dedication, and personal touch were remarkable, as they consistently went out of their way to ensure we felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. Their service was truly top-notch, and they undoubtedly played a key role in making our vacation so enjoyable. Dreams Cap Cana is lucky to have such outstanding team members, and I hope they are recognized for their incredible efforts. They certainly deserve more than just five stars!

While the beach at the resort is currently a bit rocky, the management is actively working to improve it by breaking up the rocks and making the area more usable. I’m confident the beach will be just as beautiful as the rest of the property, making for an even more perfect vacation destination.

Overall, I would highly recommend Dreams Cap Cana Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, luxurious getaway with top-tier service. Whether you’re enjoying the pool, dining at the restaurants, or relaxing in your room, the staff and the property itself ensure a wonderful experience.

We booked this as Margaritaville and we were looking forward to having things like bathrobes & a margarita maker in the room. We did not get any of these things. We did though enjoy our butler, Jorge. He was super helpful. Making dinner reservations for us everyday. Setting up coffee delivery for us every morning. Also, the biggest downfall was no beach. I see they are in the process of making a beach. One other thing i would like to note that we heard many people also talk about is the lighting in the bathroom. It was so dark-This is an issue.

Staff and service was excellent, especially Eramy from the beginning of our stay he has always been there for us and provided excellent activities ideas to do in our days of staying here. He helped us book reservations for restaurants and also we had to switch our room because we did not have good view of the beach and lucky Eramy was there to support our needs to receive the best view of the beach from our room. Eramy is very friendly and interactive individual. Personally he treats us like we are his family and never disappoints our stay because of his commitment to providing guests with the best stay at Punta Cana.I definitely would like to come back to this hotel because of the service Eramy has provided and what the hotel has offered us at our stay. About the hotel, It’s very close to the beach and pool. Restaurants and bars were very close by and entertainment was unique. I would prefer to go in the beach water but it was difficult reaching the water.

The hotel is beautiful. Being in the middle of a brand change, I expect a few hiccups, but really, other than some missing pictures on the walls, I didn’t notice. Beach is not great, which is well documented, but that meant our sporty group couldn’t play beach volleyball which was sad. Room was great. Food was great. I was not made aware of our VIP services until the day before we left, but that wasn’t for a lack of trying by the hotel/butler…I believe it was lost in the translation of Expedia—>Margaritaville—>Dreams. Overall, I would definitely recommend!

They had recently had a name rebranding and are working hard achieve 5 star quality. All of the staff were courteous and went above and beyond to help make our stay memorable. Went had some transportation issues from Talixo back to airport and Ransel took care of the issue and got us new transportation to the airport on time: resort entertainment was good and they tried to be engaging- shout out to Ayayay; juana was so very friendly, always smiling and friendly; the waiter who stands out was Manaury who took such good care of us at Italian restaurant. Would definitely visit Dreams Cap Cana again

It's not Margaritaville anymore, its not adults only and has no beach at all which we paid for. Should have been told in November when they were bought out. We would have changed resorts. Was sold a package that was not there. Should be reimbursed some of the money we spent that was not what we were sold by Expedia. Do business with Expedia for years hope I don't have to start going somewhere else and my family somewhere else.

The resort was in a beautiful location, you had to enter through two security check points to get on the resort and area around resort was safe. The rooms were updated and clean. The staff was nice, however service was slow, it was easier to get stuff yourself. Now for the downfalls. We booked the resort as Margaritaville and did not know until we pulled up to the resort that it was no longer Margaritaville but Dreams resort. Had we known we probably would have switched resorts. The food was horrible, the only good thing was the steakhouse. Half of the restaurants were not open and the buffet was closed at night!?! We have never been to a resort where the buffet was closed for dinner. The room service menu was horrible and half the time what we ordered they didn’t have. There was little entertainment other than music at the main bar that was not great and way too loud, you got to listen to the music even if you didn’t want to. The beach was not usable, there was no access to the oven in front of the hotel and then most of the time they were digging in the ocean right in front of the hotel so you heard pounding all day. There was a public beach to one side of the resort but it was full of broken glass all over the sand, the beach sparkled in the sun because there was so mcg broken glass covering the beach. Overall would not recommend this location. There was no adult/kids side it was all one. Would have like a little more separation.

This property is in transition from margaritaville to Dreams cap Cana (Hyatt brand) and it shows!
The pros of this property - concierge butler service, Italian restaurant, the pool, theater, the landscaping. The cons just added up - one sink in room didn’t work, no hand soap in room, air conditioner in room was either full blast cold or nothing, room service inconsistent, grizzle steak at steakhouse, water bottles seemed suspicious (like they had been opened prior), liquor choices…lots of little things that add up. As a long time all inclusive traveler I would recommend Punta Cana in January as it was beautiful!!! ….,but a different Hyatt property in Punta Cana like the Zalara or Ziva.

Although we were disappointed that we were not notified of the property change from Margaritaville to Dreams Cap Cana, we loved the property. Dreams has done a wonderful job with the food, service, cleanliness and amenities. The pools and landscape were open and inviting. There were plenty of options for bathroom facilities and dining. The rooms were spacious and very clean with a sizable balcony. The only complaints we had was the beach, it could use some work. That said, it was easy to walk up the beach and swim in front of the other properties. We enjoyed our stay very much.

When we booked this was a Margaritaville property. However it changed to a Hyatt dreams a few months later. Like many, we were worried there would be construction or other inconveniences. The hotel was beautiful and clean aside from some fit and finish issues like leaky tubs and showers, peeling paint. Our room was upgraded for $300 one time fee to a suite with a 2nd floor swim out pool, this was worth it and was haggled down from the $400/night ask when we checked in. This is somewhere between a family resort and a party resort. They play loud music at the pool every day which can get annoying. The staff was great and very helpful. They bring your drinks right to you and will be very attentive if you float them a decent tip after your first drink. Drink quality and strength depends on the bartender, same as anywhere I suppose. Beach is terrible and rocky, but you can just walk down to the other Hyatt properties that share the stretch of coastline and it was beautiful. Restaurants were good, best food by far was Italian place and buffet. There was decent bands that played in the main outdoor bar starting at 8pm and the seating arrangement was very comfortable. Couches and cocktail tables everywhere. Theatre entertainment was corny but enjoyable. By no means a 5 star experience, but an excellent budget option and my partner and I would gladly return given we booked 5 days and 4 nights for around $2600 total (flights included).

Unfortunately we couldn’t experience any specialty restaurants long wait and they didn’t take reservations. Concerned about the food specifically ice and water in juices ,as we all got sick . We didn’t feel it was all adults only it was kids in all areas .. the staff sometimes distracted not attentive to the needs the timing was off not ergency

I’ve never been so disappointed on a vacation in my life. We booked Margaritaville, an ADULT ONLY resort, in October only to learn it is now Dreams and kid-friendly. This was a bait and switchwe feel taken advantage of. In addition, the food was horrendous! The were very limited options. The restaurants had very limited and staggered hours. The only place open 24hrs was the coffee shop, which served stale food that I was afraid to eat because it had been sitting out ALL DAY (I have pictures). There was the buffet, bar/grill, Italian, Asian, and steak house but they were only open 3 days out of the week and the steak house required reservations and there was NO availability the entire time we were there (Mon-Fri). The portions were very small (2 very small spring rolls as appetizer for 2 adults; 1 spring roll a piece). The drinks were horrible. We were there for New Year’s Eve and continued to ask what activities were planned to celebrate NYE and was told nothing. The place was like a ghost town… not festive at all! As we were sitting in the outside bar and heard music in the distance. We followed the music and found an entire NYE party on the beach so we had a 15min party and did the NYE countdown. What a let down! We feel so cheated!!! So many others there shared the same feeling. They had been there when it was Margaritaville and couldn’t believe how things went downhill so fast. The staff was unpleasant as well, except for Oscar’s in Carribean restaurant. I could go on

Heartbreaking experience. Returned after an amazing visit 6 months prior. Happy to see some employees I recognized and felt like I was home when I checked in. As a Solo female traveler who has traveled the world I am used to the overly flirty men employees at resorts, but never expected anything beyond that. After checking in the bell boy brought me to my room proceeded to push me up against the wall in my room and aggressively made out with me. He has since been let go from the property, but women be aware of your safety. Even in the gated community of Cap Cana and the gates of the resort you never know if you're truly safe.

When we got to this vacation, we realized that Margaritaville was just sold to Hyatt and were never told. The staff was a hit and miss as some were very good and others were terrible. Probably a 60-40 split. Room service was basically non-existent and we couldn't even get water for the last 3 days we were there. I would rate it a 5/6 out of 10.

While the resort was clean, it lacked night life and as advertised. It was also not “adults only” - there were a lot of children. When I asked staff, they said they’re not “adults only” anymore - a change made a few days ago. Their response wasn’t very clear. Seemed a little weird to not have received any communication about this change - even though I booked months in advance.

We boat our package in Adult resort as was advertised. But in reality it’s not. Kids are everywhere. You can’t have a pool or dining area without. Other than the resort has no beach access at all. We were walking to swimming to the beach belongs to the other resorts where we can’t use the seats and facilities. Night entertainment is poor to none.

When I booked this trip in October, I booked the hotel named Margaritaville and it was adults only. So imagine my surprise when we show up in December being welcomed to “Dreams Resort and Spa”. I never received an email from Margaritaville nor Expedia informing us that it has been changed to a dreams resort and it was not adults only. So definitely not what I expected. I also was hoping for a vacation where people aren’t trying to sell you things and won’t take no for an answer. The spa people set up a stand directly infront the buffet so imagine coming out of breakfast everyday and people trying to sell you a 50 mins massage for $175 and they just don’t understand “no”. But that can be understandable, however what I don’t understand is why there’s a guy trying to “explain” some benefits of booking with their new sister hotel “secrets” which is adults only. He offered to take us to the new hotel where we will get free breakfast and a gift certificate for two people at the spa and get this, they have a raffle and if you win, you get a free 7 days stay at the secrets resort. It all sounded a little too sketchy and he just won’t leave us alone. He cornered us before breakfast and waited for us to finish eating and followed us again repeating the same thing over and over. When we kept saying we weren’t interested, he started to become hostile and saying that we’ll make him lose his points. He even went up to my parents’ room and knock on the door. I will not return to this hotel!

Pros for my stay

Pool was nice I enjoyed it .

Bartenders were very good and made great drinks .

Beach was nice although I had to walk along the beach a bit for the good area as the one directly in front of the resort was rocky and hurt your feet.

The specialty restaurants were really good. Normally resort food is average but these were great.

Buffet was okay.

Check in/out was quick/smooth.

Cons with my stay

There was trash still in the garbage for our room from previous guests when we checked in.

Room safe did not work.

Not much entertainment.

Saw roaches in the room 5 times.

Ants in mini fridge/around room.

Complained to reception about bugs in room. All they did was send a worker to spray bug spray in room around fridge where they were. This only agitated the roaches more I believe as they appeared more after that.

Very rainy week during our stay and there is no cover going to different restaurants. Was told our room should have an umbrella in the closet by staff but there was none there. Asked for one at reception was told there is none as they are rebranding from marvaritaville and most of the umbrellas are that branding. Seen other guests with umbrellas. We got wet just trying to get to dinner multiple nights.

I was a massive disapointment and waste of over $3400.

I need a manager/leader to contact me to rectify the situation.

We travelled 10 hours to arrive at a resort we did not book.

My stay was booked in September 2024 for Margaritaville, which is known as a fun party resort At no time was it mentioned that Dreams had purchased the property and it is now a family resort. My sister had the swim up suite. We could not enjoy that because children were swimming and playing from their room to hers and other guests rooms. At the poolside babies were crying although this particular section was \" for adults\" This vacation was planned for adults only. No parties at night any longer. My room although it was spacious and a had nice set up, it was not clean. There was a double sink and one of the sinks had hair clippings from someone shaving. The staff is wonderful. Friendly, courteous, and kind. There are plenty of diferent restaurants on sites to choose from. My favorites were the Bar and Grill and the Caribbean

Everything was amazing from the moment we arrived! The staff was the friendliest group of people we’ve ever met and so very helpful! The grounds were pristine and you constantly saw staff cleaning up. The beach left something to be desired. It was very weedy and had an odor to it that was unpleasant, but the cabanas on the beach and around the pools were a perfect way to spend a lazy day! We had a massage at the spa and it was an experience we’ll never forget! The staff at the spa was top notch and the massage was amazing!

The property wasn’t ADULTS ONLY… the name is “Dreams” which a family resort.. I booked back in October and should’ve been informed that it was changing companies & kids will be there during my stay giving me an option to stay else where… the alcohol was WELL liquor.. I asked for Tito’s was told you had to buy the bottle in order to get it same for sweet wine… if you have top shelf liquor then allow the guest to upgrade to a platinum package… we made the best out of our 5 days but I wouldn’t stay there again‼️

The staff is amazing & food was very good. Since property is now A Dreams resort the property had kids and the reason we booked that resort was it was supposed to be adults only and all inclusive. I feel we should have been given the option prior to arriving to switch resorts. Also, the beach is complete seaweed.
I feel Margaritaville & Expedia should have notified us of the change in ownership, etc.. I had 2 filters in my search for a resort ( Adults only & All inclusive).

Service was average, it seemed like a lot the workers didn’t care for their work nor the clients. Poor entertainment during the day specially at the main pool.
Food was good at the restaurant , but the buffet was awful during breakfast. There were flies and not a variety of food.
