Only complaint - hotel in a massive renovation, not clearly communicated at Expedia site - ended up in a room facing afternoon sun, outside 30C plus, inside way above that as cleaners had not bothered to close the shades. A noisy fan did not help. Find it very disappointing that £440 per night hotel has no air con (and when we asked will not have as old building is protected and no air con can be installed. Our first visit was 1994, and many times thereafter.

Absolutely lovely hotel on Lake Zurich. Highly recommend, we stayed three nights in the 2nd floor suite which was large and accommodating. The private lakeside and bear garden is incredibly convenient and you’re 20 minutes from Zurich by boat or train!

Wow! Loved this hotel! The decor is stunning, the beds are super comfy, the location on the lake is dreamy, and the breakfast was excellent! We loved being on the lake and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We also the loved the historic appeal of many of the rooms. The sauna was enjoyable and an added bonus. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were friendly and welcoming. They were helpful with any question we had. There were a lot of events occurring on property so the parking area got crowded but the car attendant did a great job moving cars to accommodate. The hotel was also beautifully decorated for the holidays!

Nice lake views; occasional bad smells (3 times in two weeks); regular restaurant service is good in the newly reopened Stuebli it is fair at best; while food was great, waiters did not remove empty bread plates and champagne glasses at all, wine service was mediocre, guests closed the door while staff did not thus creating drafts. Maybe just reopening issues?
Overall staff was very good.
Easy train access into the city.
Nice walks along the Tobelweg.

We checked in to the hotel and had to wait for a room. No problem… but we asked for a water view room. Every other hotel on the trip upgraded us. Not here. They had rooms available for an extra $175. per nite. Our room looked over the road. It was so small we could not lay our luggage out. Could barely walk around the room. Thomas in dining was great and engaging. Won’t go back there ever.

This hotel is so close to both the train and boat stations, that getting into Zurich or to Rapperswil is too easy. The Bier Garten is absolutely perfect in atmosphere. The restaurant is fine dining and the breakfast is a must. The hotel is the best of Swiss hospitality and comfort.

This hotel has outstanding service. The ladies and gentlemen at the front desk made us feel right at home and were so helpful with all of our questions. The wait staff at the restaurant were top notch going above and beyond our expectations. Then there’s the beer garden. Hot and cold food made to order, and drinks prepared expertly at the bar. All of this with seating right on Lake Zurich. Excellent experience!!!

Our stay here was exceptional! The staff were all courteous, thoughtful and helpful. On our first night we needed a crib for our toddler so they immediately brought one up, put brand new sheets on it and gave my daughter a rubber ducky. This is only one example of the extraordinary service we received.

Our room was nice and clean and the view was beautiful. We also loved to sit outside in their outdoor eating area for gelato and to see beautiful lake Zurich. My daughter loved that there was a small playground there for her. They also have a small private beach where my husband loved to go for early morning swims in the lake (he was able to ask for a beach towel at reception as it was end of May and towels were not out yet). If you walk a bit further past their beach area, there are multiple parks to see, overall very beautiful.

The location of the hotel is perfect! It is located at the Küsnacht ferry stop, so just one short ride away from Zurich city center. Because of this ferry and the fact that the train station to the airport is a couple minutes walk across the street, a car was not necessary.

When I am in Zurich again, I will definitely stay here again!

Every time we asked to eat dinner we were initially told by one waiter that a table was available. It was obvious the restaurant was only 1/3 full. But every time another waiter would come over to us and say \"no room.\"

Was it because we were Americans?

We sat in the bar lounge and watched and saw the empty tables stayed empty for the entire time.

They showed real hospitality and empathy by allowing me to check in to their only empty room. incidentally a significant upgrade! They hosted the lunch after for 50, and could not fault so clearly v good at functions too

Great lakeside setting. However, waiter told us restaurant was closed, even though reception told us it would be open for 20 more minutes after we checked in. But when arrived with 15 mint to spare, the head water refused to seat us. We were forced either to skip lunch after a long trip from Zermatt or eat way over-priced, junk food (6,50 for a bottle of water; 17.50 CDH for a.”large” salad that was pretty small, etc) in the beer garden. Room was nicely appointed, but like being in attic room with no circulation (a floor fan was provided)For the 365 CDH room price, I was pretty disappointed. No one from management reached out to address our bad experience with the dining room staff, even though I reported it right away. The only question I was asked was what room I was in.

It's great for walkers. True you are not right in Zurich city, but the train runs frequently and gets you to town in 12 minutes.

The hotel was really good for a family stay since the rooms were really large and had a nice pullout sofa for the kids to sleep on.

The neighbourhood is really walkable and there is a great walkway along the lake. A short three minute walk away is also a nice playground. There are loads of great restaurants in the area.

The one thing that I would definitely check on is whether there is a wedding at the hotel during your stay. During our stay, there was a wedding on and music was playing until 3 AM. It all ended with the Bohemian Rapsody. Since management knew about this, it would have been nice for them to be proactive and put the guests who are not attending the wedding in rooms far away from the wedding venue. Sadly, this was not the case.

Wonderful Spot!

A charming and nostalgic European Hotel. There are so many nooks in this hotel to relax and enjoy each others company and the scenery. The breakfast and dessert were great. Ate dinner elsewhere. This is a wonderful spot just outside the city (in extremely easy reach) right on the lake with access to the ferry, train and bike path.

Room was not large but was clean and comfortable. The hotel is on the lake and has a beautiful beer garden, and you can stroll on the paths and roads next to the lake and see interesting old houses and the like. There’s plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff was helpful and courteous. You can ride a boat across the lake to/from Zurich, which we didn’t have time to do but it seemed like it would be very nice.

Home away from home in Zurich

This is my favorite place to stay in Zurich and is my home away from home. It is peaceful and relaxing. In the summer there is a nice walk along the water and winter the small ice rink. The ferry and train are close by and it is easy to get in and our of central Zurich. Have stayed here 4 times and will again. There are two attached restaurants (formal and casual) as well as a nice bar.

Visiting Family in Switzerland

We are visiting family here in Switzerland, but also traveling around and seeing the sights as well. My parents paid for my trip, including the hotel. They paid for a room without a view, but I was upgraded to a lake view. My room is nice, spacious, clean, (has WiFi) and meets my needs. The view is pretty awesome and I can look across the lake to the far shore...we couldn't be closer to the Lake of Zurich without getting wet. They have a full bar, restaurant, and outdoor grill with tables along the shore. There is a full breakfast included, which saves a lot of money. The coffee is excellent and compares to Vienna. We have taken the ship that docks right here (1 minute walk) to Zurich and have used the train (a 2 minute walk) from the airport and into the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel over staying in Zurich proper...it is much more quite and comfortable. I've noticed a few cars with diplomatic plates here so I'm not the only person who thinks like this.

We highly recommend this hotel. They allowed us to do an early check-in, staff are very accommodating. They even prepared boxed breakfast for us, as we need to leave the hotel before buffet breakfast is served. We are very pleased with our 3night stay. We will surely come back and stay there again.

Pillows are not comfortable at all . They are huge , ultra thin and very uncomfortable . I called them and they didnt have any other choice . The beds are on wheeels . They move a lot . So if you cannot sleep at night , therest doesnt matter . I would never go back to this hotel again

Lovely hotel and very well connected

The room was lovely, clean and well maintained. We were there around Easter and they had nice chocolate surprises for the children. Very friendly staff and always helpful. The hotel is extremely well connected with a railway station nearby and a short train journey into central Zurich. There's also a boat service that operates right by the hotel although we didn't use this. We even got some small 'parting' gifts from the hotel.

Well, this is a keeper. The hotel is a few kilometers outside the city, but ridiculously easy to get to by \"S-train\" running every fifteen minutes.
The staff is extremely nice, eager to please, and welcoming. Our room had a fabulous view of the lake, about 75 meters away. The restaurant was excellent too. Breakfasts were very, very good as well.
My only minimally negative was the quality the pillows, but i am sure if i had asked they would have replaced them.
We would definitely return.

It was so big, cozy and modern, clean that i fall in love immediately. I asked the staff if they could show me the room with the view to the lake and it was a bit smaller.

This is a nice hotel located outside of Zurich but very convenient by tram. The hotel rooms are nicely decorated and the staff are very kind. There is a great view of Lake Zurich and a nice restaurant onsite. I would characterize the style as romantic and traditional. Nice for business travelers and vacationers alike.

Fantastic Hotel, right on lake Zurich!

The hotel was amazing, from our first welcome to our last goodbye. The staff at the hotel were incredibly accommodating, from silly questions to detailed recommendations for what to do and what to see and we couldn't fault them at all! The hotel itself was beautifully renovated and the rooms were spacious and exquisitely decorated. The facilities were plentiful and clean, the bathroom large and modern, and the bed most comfortable. The hotel has its own private garden right on the lake, which we made frequent use off, to both lie back and relax in, and to go for a swim into the lake from - fantastic!

On Lake Zurich

The only minor criticism is that the wardrobe hanging space was too small, and no tea/coffee facilities in the room. Otherwise, a great hotel and the hotel's restaurants were also very good, as was the breakfast. It is located quite a way outside the city centre, but is right on the lake and the boat stops right outside. We had a car and easily drove into the city, parking is fairly reasonably priced.

we really loved this hotel but the only and main problem was that the room doesnt contain A/C so it was realy hard to sleep at night,the braekfast staff were not enough kind too!!!! They didnt let us to seat easily beacause they told us that we have set the table for lunch so you cant seat here, go and find somewhere else for your breakfast when it was just 10 a.m and we still had 30 minutes time for breakfast!!!!!

Wonderful, peaceful stay just away from the bustle of central Zurich but near to both train station (5 minutes walk) and boat stop, meaning you get get to the rest of Zurich in under 30 minutes. Rooms excellent, albeit a bit hot due to lack of climate control. Staff friendly. Views amazing.

The hotel is not large and is situated on the edge of the lake very near the ferry stop. The staff are lovely and very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom spotless. Very nice dining room and food. Good breakfast. This is not a major hotel but a small friendly one. Excellent location in a smart suburb. Lovely trip into Zurich on ferry every hour. Also very near local train service. Also has an outdoors help yourself dining service. Perfect place to stay when visiting Zurich.

I booked a lower level desk style room for my son and booked a duplex (or loft-style) room for my daughter and me by the exactly picture in the booking Expedia. Unfortunately, no one room is same . All the normal room. How disappointed they are and me!
