I had my 30th birthday at Melia Caribe Beach Resort!

I want to start by saying I wasn’t compelled to give a review but I really had to shout out the people who made my stay great.

I must say that I had a very wonderful experience. From the arrival, the guest service welcomed us with beautiful smiles but although the rooms took time to get sorted out. I was accompanied with unlimited drinks at the bar in the lobby.

Now these are the name of the people that made my experience outside.

FERNADO - He went over and beyond to ensure we got the best room and we did get a great room with close proximity to the bar, pool, spa and beach. He also assisted with ensuring that my room was well decorated for my birthday.

The Food! I don’t think what I saw online gave justice to the meals. The food at the buffet had a large variety and as such it fit my palate well. I didn’t have a reason to complain with the meals on either sides of the buffet.

The staff members were all wearing beautiful smiles all day.

This was truly an amazing vacation. The resort is exquisite, the staff are so friendly and accommodating, & our room was beautiful and very clean. Fernando Reyes was wonderful and efficient and so responsive to all of our needs.
Willy Charles at the beach was also exceptional, in service and attitude. All in all we had an awesome time thanks to the amazing staff. Will definitely recommend this all inclusive resort to our friends and family!!

We arrived at 7:00 pm and it seemed like nothing was ready. I wasn’t given room safe keys for either of our rooms, wasn’t informed on how to book reservations, one of the rooms didn’t have bedding for my child’s bed so they had to use robes to sleep in for the first night. The mini fridge had a half drank bottle of pop and no replacement drinks as it wasn’t filled at all. Wasn’t informed how to get towels as I wasn’t given cards to get the towels on day 2. I shouldn’t have to keep coming back to the front desk at checkin to tell them what I need for my stay. As well wasn’t informed about the fun republic venue located outside the resort where you can drink and eat for free where the kids can play mini golf and climb on the jungle gyms as this is included with the resort bracelets. Found out about this from other guests on day 3 of our visit. The $150 USA resort credits is a scam. I gave these back to the hotel as I couldn’t use any of the tickets. The $150 booklet is a $10 food and beverage coupon, which I didn’t need because I am at an all In music resort, the $50 room upgrade coupon I didn’t need as I already purchased a room for my all inclusive vacation. The $50 coupon had to be used on a 50 min or more spa package so you couldn’t use it on a 30 min spa. And I don’t remember the other $40 coupon as I gave this booklet back to the hotel manager as their was no need for it. Excellent bartender Luciano at level pool bar. Reynaldo concierge was very attentive throughout our stay. It was not shared that level guests were able to use spa amenities for one hour each day Included or how to get golf cart service from level areas which would have been helpful from the beginning. Once we figured out the resort we loved it! Quimera level bar at adults only wellness is much nicer than Riviera level bar at this resort. Excellent entertainment at night.

We had an overall great experience at Meliá DR. The staff truly made our stay memorable—everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely supportive throughout our visit. The food was another highlight, consistently fresh and very enjoyable with plenty of variety.

A special thank you to Reynardo at the concierge desk, who was superb. He went above and beyond to guide us and ensure we had everything we needed, making our stay even more seamless and enjoyable.

The only downside was that the rooms are starting to show their age and could benefit from some updates. With a bit of renovation, this resort would be even more exceptional.

Overall, we had a wonderful time and would gladly return.

Lines in restaurant are terrible, not possible to make reservation in a la cart restaurants, service is very slow, have to look for table and than server to clean it up, not enough beds on the beach, were supposed to get up at 6 am to get the place. Not enough carts for transpiration around the hotel, never were able to get one.

not only did we get overcharged for one room which I had 3, the food was nonedible staff rude, check in took to long and concierge nowhere to be found. Our toilet didn't work had to call 3 times. No service for alcohol drinks till 10 am while they did have the bar opened for other stuff. all buffet restaurants except the specially one which very hard to get reservations.

We stayed at Meliá Caribe Beach as a family of five with three children and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The resort is very family friendly, with plenty of space and activities for kids, which made the whole trip easy and enjoyable for all of us.

We were especially happy with our stay and would absolutely recommend this resort to other families. Booking through Expedia also came with great perks that made a noticeable difference.

A special thank you to Any Liriano, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She made sure we had everything we needed and truly went above and beyond to make our experience even better.

I had a great experience at this resort! Property was beautiful, staff was friendly and food was outstanding. Beach and pool were spacious and clean, although many vendors on the beach trying to get you to buy excursions. They had plenty of chairs and huts that provided shade. The buffet was one of the best I have had in the DR, fresh and excellent options for all. Would definitely recommend this resort for your vacation!

Our stay was great, Reynaldo was amazing at check in and so helpful also Wilquim was amazing and helpful at getting us on our way to leave. They tried very hard to accommodate allergies especially gluten free and many things were labelled. The level upgrade was soooo worth it. It was nice having our own restaurant and pool and the beach was fantastic. It was a long walk from the lobby area to the beach and shuttle service was slow and difficult at times. It rained hard our last night and our room flooded moderately badly so I would not recommend to leave anything out on the floor if it rains.

Meliá Caribe was just ok. The staff was super friendly, the resort did a great job with providing transportation around the resort, the rooms were cleaned daily, the pools were nice. Luckily our room was close to the pool and beach and we had a second floor room with a high roof. The resort has a ton of restaurants but reservations are impossible to get, at least in the restaurants that are edible. We had to eat at the buffets for almost every meal until we couldn’t take it anymore. We went off resort to a highly rated restaurant and the food was FINALLY enjoyable. Truly - the food was some of the worst I’ve had. And I do understand that with all inclusive resorts, the food isn’t high quality. Over all - we won’t be back. It wasn’t the worst resort we’ve been to, but there was nothing special about this one. It was a disappointing food experience and restaurant reservation experience we’ve ever had at a resort.

rooms are dated but cleaned every time even the fridge is always stocked up with water beer and pop… the staff are amazing … anny liriano the representative from expedia walked up to us few mins upon arruving and told she will be our personal assistant … she took our numbers and contacted us evey day checking on us and even did our restaurant reservations so we didnt have to line up and sweat on doing the resto reservations … she just sends us the booking info andoff we go to the resto… jose, the shutlle driver is amazing he goes above and beyond his job makes sure to pick us up and drop off us when and where we needed from day 1 till the day we leave … the guy from the coffee shop at night is also amazing making good coffee and sandwiches for our midnight snack and the guy incharge of the pool activities is also nice … the pool is huge the beach is so nice and the splashpark is amazing even the fun republic the kids had so much fun

Stayed at Meliá Caribe and overall had a great experience. The staff really stood out—they were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the entire trip.

The pool area was beautiful and relaxing, though the water was a little colder than expected. Not a dealbreaker, but something to note if you like warmer pools.

One downside was that our tub leaked water the whole trip, which was a bit inconvenient and something that should definitely be addressed.

On the food side, we were pleasantly surprised. While there were some standard resort dishes, they did a great job mixing things up with different cuisines from various countries each night, which kept it interesting.

The overall vibe honestly felt like being in The White Lotus—luxurious, immersive, and a little surreal in the best way.

Would definitely consider coming back.

We had a toilet that didn't flush properly and a dripping bathtub faucet that never got fixed the whole time we were there despite telling the Level lobby and our concierge. Multiple maintenance workers visited our room to look but nothing actually got fixed. We had to ask one of the maintenance staff to leave their plunger in our room so we didn't have to call the office every time the toilet was clogged. There is a group Whatsapp number you can contact for questions but my messages were never answered. We were told we would get a new room because of the plumbing issues so we spent an afternoon packing up our things, but when we got to the Level office to get our new room keys we were told there were no rooms available. The staff flat out lied to us about getting a new room, presumably to get rid of us and hope we wouldn't come back, and did not seem to care. There were bright spots during our time here, such as the well-maintained gardens and great service from a few restaurant servers, but overall the experience was not good. We will not return and I do not recommend this resort.

We enjoyed most of our stay by the main pool. We liked that it was where the main action was. Our family participated in many of the activities that included dancing the merengue, painting, pottery making, and rum tasting. The activities crew was great at what they did. They chose the right individuals for those positions. They were outgoing and knew how to work the crowd. The pool was nice. We decided to wait on it one day as they were still cleaning it and we chose to walk the beach instead. The bartenders by the pool were nice. We never had an issue getting chairs by the pool. Each day, we got our spots by 7:30am. We also tried the Level pool the last day. That was also very nice, but we preferred to be at the main pool. One day we did make our way over to the Kidsdom pool. The kids enjoyed the water slides. They also enjoyed Domingo....they thought he was funny!!

We traveled with our almost-5-year-old twins, my husband, and in-laws (with extra family some days). I chose this resort from detailed reviews, so sharing ours!

**Tip:** Bring small bills—they don’t always have change.

**Room:** Clean, spacious, and exactly like photos. Family room had a cot and roll-out bed, plus a nice balcony. Mini bar had water and beer but wasnt refilled, not a huge problem for me just make sure to ask.

**Food:** Good overall. Make reservations early (8am), especially for large groups. Meals take about an hour+. Mexican and Dominican were our favorites, steakhouse was solid, Italian apps were great but mains average. Buffet had lots of options (best for breakfast). Coffee bar was great.

**Kids & Splash Pad:** Highlight of the trip! Easy to find seating most days, good food nearby, and great lifeguards. Kids club (“Kingsdom”) had fun daily activities like pool parties and treasure hunts.

**Entertainment:** 10/10—nightly shows (circus, Michael Jackson, magic) and themed parties. Staff was energetic and engaging. They deserve the reviews!!

**Staff:** Hit or miss—some amazing, some not very friendly.

**Melia Presentation:** Took ~1.5 hours. Had an issue receiving promised credit at checkout.

**Drinks:** Very weak—consider bringing your own if this is important to you.

**Getting Around:** Trolleys limited, but walkable (5–7 mins).

**Bugs:** Bring spray—mosquitoes were noticeable.

Overall, great for families with a few minor imperfections.

But the pools were lovely and the rooms were lovely. And if you were lucky enough to book suppers at the restaurants (which you should do as soon as you get there)… which we were, they are delicious. (no matter which restaurant…. but the Japanese was our favourite) *coffee was a bit sad. But we had friends a couple resorts up and they loved the coffee so maybe just explore and you find better stuff.

The game room for kids had board games and table tennis, but the other games cost money. The gym had a good variety and it was clean. The buffet always had tons of fresh fruit available, which I loved.The beach and the pool were great. We could never find a chair to sit on because people reserved and left them empty for long periods of time. We didn't get a towel or safe card until day 3 because they were out. The towel sign out is the same place where they try to sell you tours.
The restaurant reservations were a challenge. There were only spots at 9 pm left and 2 of the restaurants were not included, they were extra. The Mexican restaurant was the best.
The walking areas had high traffic with cars and motorcycles for sfaff to get around. No big deal, just careful with little ones.
The staff were not friendly (2 or 3 smiled once). That's fine, but at times they seemed super annoyed when I was ordering drinks or coffee.
Check-out was quick.

Thanks to Orbitz we got the VIP services with free wine and dessert at check in. Our rooms were upgraded to level master suite. Property was very clean. The rooms were big. Housekeeping kept it clean every day and provided snacks in the fridge for us. The beach is gorgeous however claim your seats early! Splash island was okay. We prefer the pool. Spa service was great. Food was a hit or miss. rumba and beach night was our favorite. Rosso was our least favorite due to service and food quality. Kids club was great they had our kids busy with activities while we had a massage

Our stay at this resort with our 2-year-old was unfortunately disappointing overall. Upon arrival, we were directed to the Level private check-in area, which was quite disorganized and messy. The check-in process took about an hour and a half, which was frustrating after traveling.

The cleanliness of the room was also an issue. The floors did not appear to be properly cleaned, and I found hair in the shower that did not belong to me, which was concerning.

In terms of dining, the buffet food was good and offered decent variety. However, we made reservations at the Mexican and Italian restaurants, and the food at both was underwhelming and did not meet expectations.

Customer service was inconsistent. While some staff members were helpful, others made us feel as though we were inconveniencing them when asking for assistance.

On a positive note, our son absolutely loved the splash water park—it was the highlight of our trip and a great feature for families with young children.

Disappointing Check‑In and Unresolved Room Issues
Unfortunately, our stay started off poorly due to multiple room issues that were not resolved in a timely manner. Upon check‑in, our room was missing basic amenities, including robes, slippers, soap pumps in the bathroom, and the refrigerator was completely empty. The in‑room telephone was also not working, and the toilet was leaking.
The staff member who escorted us to the room contacted others for assistance, and someone did come to restock the refrigerator. At that time, we reported the leaking toilet and were advised to place towels around it to absorb the water. This was concerning, as it created a clear safety hazard. The issue was not repaired at that time.
Later, another staff member delivered the robes and slippers. We again mentioned the leaking toilet and were told someone would be contacted. Before leaving for dinner, I personally notified the front desk of all remaining issues.
When we returned around 11:00 PM, the phone still had not been fixed, and the soap pumps had still not been replaced. Because there was no working phone in the room, we were unable to contact the front desk or order room service.
Overall, the room was not properly prepared, and several issues remained unresolved despite multiple notices.

Absolut chaotisch schon beim check-in. Mindestens 6-7 Reihen Gäste versuchen zeitgleich einzuchecken und die Masse reißt nicht ab. Wir haben Stunden auf unser Zimmer gewartet. Insgesamt 4x habe ich mich erneut einreihen müssen. Wir sollten dann als Melia Gold Mitglied ein Upgrade und das gewünschte obere Etagen Zimmer bekommen. Wir erhielten genau das Gegenteil: EG Familienzimmer mit bereits eingebettetem Kinderbett. Die Ausstattung selbst war absolut schlecht und vor allem die Schränke und Schubladen hingen schief. Als wir einen Tisch im italienischen Restaurant reservieren wollten, war natürlich die Reservierungszeit schon um 4pm verstrichen. Das Essen im Steakrestaurant war ok, aber mein angebliches Filetsteak hatte lauter Sehnen. Das Frühstück dann typisch amerikanisch; die Spiegeleier und Kaffee ok, aber alles andere von teilweise unterirdischer Qualität, vor allem das Brot. Insgesamt haben wir die letzten Jahre noch nie so ein schlechtes und chaotisches Hotel gesehen. Wir sind als Vielreisende auch schon oft in spanischen Melia Hotels gewesen und waren immer sehr zufrieden. Auf Grund dieser Erfahrung und des damit verbundenen nicht stimmigen Preis-/Leistungsverhältnisses sind wir überaus enttäuscht.

Front desk for check in are very slow and most of them they don’t know how the system works so you will be eating lots of time for your check in

Room services and baggage delivery are so bad you can not rely on them

Checkin was horrendous. Staff with very few exceptions are rude and not interested in assisting guests, items stolen from our room. Most on our tour never had hot water. My sink didn’t produce water at all and I was told it was fine. Had to have them back at night to fix it. Food was poor. Rooms felt grimy. Grounds are expansive and well maintained. Coffee shop has great coffee. Pay for a beach cabana. Towels never arrived on time so hard to find loungers. Cabana provided this and the guys were great. Would never come back.

I had a wonderful stay at Meliá. The hotel was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable, but what truly made my experience exceptional was the outstanding service.

I would like to especially thank Anny Liriano for her kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during my stay, and her warm attitude made me feel truly welcomed.

Thank you, Anny, for making my visit so memorable. I will definitely be coming back!

The room was clean. Had a water leak coming from the upstairs floor. I had to called twice to get someone to come look at it due to the water coming directly through the lightbulb. They were able to fix it but it was a little concerning.

The staff. My husband had an altercation with a waitress who refused to clean the table where we sat. When asked if she could wipe down the table, she told my husband that she already did but there was rice all over the table. The waitress proceeded to walk to her station and started talking to another waitress and they both were staring at my husband while talking. Felt very uncomfortable and my husband asked to speak with their supervisor. Supervisor was very professional at handling the matter but at the point of time we were just upset and left.

Overall, the hotel was very nice. The issues were addressed and resolved. I can see myself going back in the future.

The main lobby and restaurants are all open concept and feels luxurious when you see it for first time but the rooms are very dated and run down, light switches not working, broken tiles in the floor, toilet paper roll non functional, sliding door to balcony won't lock, rusted frame and terrible mattress on pull out couch, small things but added up stand out as not luxurious at all, let alone non functional sometimes. The staff seem to not really care about you, not very welcoming or hospitable, not hostile but totally indifferent even when you tip them. Restaurants include buffet and selection of \"specialty\" ones typical Steak, Mexican, Italian, Tepanyaki that are hard to book and are not any better than the buffet at all, my steak wasn't even a regular cut of meat, some random part of the cow that was tough and chewy even cooked med rare. Overall feels very much a resort factory vs an experience.

Staff were extremely attentive to the needs of the guests and energetic. There is always something going on so the guests are never bored. Only thing I can comment about is that the rooms are a bit dated however I didnt mind this since I was out enjoying the resort most of the day and only used the room to sleep and shower.

I recently stayed at The Level Junior Suite (March 5–11) as an Expedia Silver Member. While the resort grounds and the room were lovely, the service from management was a massive disappointment and completely ruined the relaxation of my vacation.
The Major Issues:
• Deceptive Perks: This is a VIP Access property that explicitly promises a $150 Resort Credit and a $90 Spa Credit. At check-in, I was told these were valid for the spa. However, after the service was finished, management refused to honor them, claiming a \"promotion\" conflict that was never disclosed.
• Lack of Priority for Expedia Guests: It is clear that this resort does not value Expedia customers. Despite paying for the \"Level\" premium experience, I was treated like a burden. The credits I was promised in writing were treated as optional by the staff.
• Rude Management: The manager at the Level desk was dismissive, showed zero sympathy, and never once offered an apology for the confusion. As a first-time guest, I was made to feel \"stupid\" for asking about the benefits listed on my reservation.
• Poor Communication: There is a significant language barrier, and it felt as though staff used this to avoid resolving my issues. No one bothered to educate me on how to use the $150 credit, leading to further frustration and waste.
Final Verdict:
If you are a first-time guest or booking through Expedia for the VIP benefits, be very careful. This hotel does not stand behind its partnership agreements and the management

La comida es demasiado buena y hay variedad, la verdad me gustó todo desde el lugar en general , la piscina , el spa , la playa es preciosa y limpia. We loved this resort, pools were amazing, water park was a ton of fun for the kids, the food options were really good. Booking ala carte restaurants was made really easy with the help of our concierge Anny Liriano. She did an amazing job helping us and booking everything we needed. HUGE PLUS having her. She stayed in contact with us every day and made she we were always taken care of. Having a concierge is the main reason we booked this resort

We wasted 2 days of our vacation: first night was in bldg 41, in horrible conditions: no AC until midnight, then with the extreme noise, old, dirty furniture, disgusting bathroom, grey towels. We showed the cockroach to the staff next morning and they promised to change it. We spent all day until 6 pm without the room. In the bldg 51, the room was ok. Staff was good. Beach area very nice

The rooms were dated but clean. The staff was ok. Didn’t come across anybody that was rude or unhelpful but none of them went above & beyond either. Pool and beach were beautiful but you need to be up at 7am to get chairs reserved. Spa was wonderful. The buffets were mediocre at best - unique/odd options and nothing seemed very hot & fresh.

This place was amazing. very friendly staff, great amenities, good food, our room was amazingly spacious. The pool temperature was perfect the beaches clean. Not to leave out all you can eat and drink anytime was a plus. Highly recommend, and our concierge Anny, was always there to help us with anything we needed. Thank you
