The pool in the adjoining property was a real bonus. It’s a tough walk up to the Castello and the old town in the heat. I should have spent more and got a room with a terrace looking at the Castello - they looked great

Disappointing and misleading description
The hotel is difficult to find & isn't recognised by satnavs. The front of the hotel is need of updating to include a sign to identify the hotel as we drove past it 3 or 4 times without seeing it. The hotel is more of a 3 star and not a 4 star as advertised \"4-star hotel in Castelsardo Historic Centre with spa and restaurant \". The Spa and Restaurant are down the road at the 4 star sister hotel and the hotel will give you a 10% discount in the restaurant. This is disappointing as the hotel description is misleading and the hotel are charging 4 star facilities for a 3 star hotel. The room itself was basic with mini bar, air conditioning, balcony, Wifi kept dropping out and the soundproofing wasn't as advertised \"soundproofed rooms\" as we could hear the traffic all night with all the windows closed. The breakfast was basic continental breakfast with no hot food available. We had stayed at other hotels and they offered hot scrambled egg and bacon for us to compare against. The car park is self parking and costs an additional 10 euros per night. We paid for an upgraded sea view room and the view was obscured by a building opposite with washing on the line (see photos), although the sea was visible to the left.
We had stayed in other hotels during our holiday in Sardinia and this was the worst when comparing the standard of hotel against the cost. This is a very expensive hotel to stay in and the facilities are NOT as described in the \"Hotels.com\" description.

Good location but noisy
Lively town during August with a lot of traffic passing by the hotel with the usual Italian beeps, screeches and shouting so the balcony was not a peaceful place to relax. It did however have a lovely sea view and the hotel was over the road from the beach which although smallish was kept very clean by the environmental cleansing staff. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. By walking up a very steep hill both the castle and the town square can be accessed. The castle grounds are very peaceful and offer amazing views. Go before 8pm to the town centre to ensure getting a table for dinner during August. This side of the island has some wonderful beaches further south toward the Alghero region where you can also get a boat trip to the Neptune cave.

When we arrived to check in just after 2pm (when check in starts) we were given the keys to our room and went in to find it hadn't been cleaned after the last guests (bed all messed up, stuff on the floor etc).
When we went back to the reception, the young man who was there alone was clearly a bit flustered as there were a few other guests checking in and out with issues and apparently he was meant to have finished his shift 30mins earlier but no one had arrived to relieve him - as we discovered as we waited while he had quite a heated telephone conversation with the management team at the main hotel. After waiting half an hour to find out if we could have another room so we could check in and shower (and with no one else arriving to relieve the poor guy on reception or help him out), we gave up and decided to stop wasting our afternoon and come back later to check in.
The room, once cleaned, was fine but basic, and aside from a very beautiful breakfast room on the top floor there was nothing special about the hotel. It was overpriced for what it was, although I think our experience on checking in blighted the whole thing for us a bit!

Being very picky, the room was a little on the shall side and the Internet was sporadic. There's also an issue with the parking, which is restricted but there is plenty of space at the sister hotel a couple of hundred metres away.
The ensuite was well designed and also very new.
Breakfast is served on the fourth floor, once again with brilliant views. There is also a good Sardinian choice.
Staff at the hotel are pleasant, knowledgable and helpful.
Would definitely recommend and revisit.

A little disappointing
The Hotel Janus in Castelsardo is a well located modern hotel but disappoints because of the absence of facilities - no bar, no restaurant, no breakfast unless you are prepared to go down the road to its sister hotel. It was particularly quiet on our visit - we came across no one else staying there (but there was one other car in the car park!) Probably over priced given the lack of facilities.

Hotel compatível com o preço cobrado pelas diárias. Bem localizado. Simples, porém limpo, confortável e aconchegante. Se você tiver um carro médio ou grande, provavelmente o melhor será utilizar o estacionamento público (pago) praticamente em frente ao hotel. Assim o fizemos e em setembro conseguimos encontrar vagas todos os dias.

Très satisfaits de notre séjour dans cet établissement pour lequel quelques avis pouvaient mettre un doute… l’accès à la plage est juste en face, avec chemin protégé et douche… c’est la plage publique principale de castersardo… logique quand on choisit un hôtel en ville, et sur un tel site magnifique! Le coucher de soleil et la vue depuis notre balcon étaient magiques… donc sur façade rue probablement un peu plus bruyante mais très bien isolé, donc pas gênant. Personnel extrêmement sympathique, dans les étages comme au petit déjeuner fourni de produit frais locaux ( meule de pecorino/parmesan à fondre…) servi au 4eme et dernier étage avec terrasse et vue mer!

Das Hotel hat eine sehr gute Lage direkt am Meer & bei einem Zimmer inkl. Meerblick kann man dies auch sehr genießen. Ansonsten ist das Hotel bereits sehr in die Jahre gekommen & alles ein wenig Lustlos. Teils veraltete Möbel, schlechte Badbeleuchtung, geringe Auswahl beim Frühstück usw.
Für eine Nacht passt das alles, allerdings nicht für einen längeren Aufenthalt.

15 Euro fürs parken in der Unterkunft pro Tag ist etwas viel. Sowas sollte es gratis geben für Gäste des Hotels. Und wenn es nicht genügend gibt zumindest etwas vergünstigt.

Kjempe bra!! Utrolig hyggelig og behjelpelig folk som jobbet der! Snakker ikke så mye engelsk, men det var null problem - vi fant ut av alt! Alt i alt et kjempe bra hotellet! Bitte lite minus for litt harde putter (virkelig det eneste som kan sies noe på)

Godt hotel i Castelsardo.
Pænt stort værelse med fin udsigt over byen og den lille strand. Og kig op til borgen til den ene side. Badeværelse også fint. Dejlig og Ok morgenmad med god kaffe og lidt af hvert på 4 sal med udsigt. Besøg i borgen var rigtig godt med hyggelige små restauranter og flot udsigt og foran hotellet en lille strand med dejligt vand, men ellers ikke så meget at lave i byen.

Det är ett fint hotell med bra havsutsikt och nära till en liten strand. Hotellet har dock ingenting. Pool finns tillgänglig på hotellet några kvarter bort. Ingen restaurant förutom frukostrum med det mest nödvändiga. Här sover man endast.

Très bel hotel, récemment rénové. Les prestations sont de qualité (literie, climatisation, double vitrage). Très belle vue sur la plage publique. Petit déjeuner copieux, au dernier étage, avec une superbe vue sur la ville haute. Parking en sous-sol, petit mais précieux vu que l'hôtel est en plein centre ville.

Hôtel en centre ville. Chambre correcte sur cour. Annexe de l’hôtel RIVIERA. Le parking,la piscine et le bar se trouvent dans l'hôtel principal RIVIERA dont il n'est pas fait état dans les annonces. Stationnement difficile devant l'hôtel pour le dépôt des bagages. Si on est en voiture il vaut mieux préférer des hôtels en dehors du centre ville. Nous avons passé une bonne nuit.
