We chose this due to location on our beach tour. It matched our expectations and was very good value for money. Breakfast gets a 3/5 which is fine ( 5/5 would have an egg chef and champagne).
Evening meal was 4/5, service was good. Wine by the small bottle. May have been other options but not offered anything.
Slept well. All good. Recommend.

An Excellent hotel. Breakfast was excellent and the evening meal was exceptional. The room was spacious and facilities were very good, including pool, steam room and sauna although the spa was actually a large hot tub, which for me was ok but my wife has mobility issues and was unable to climb in and out as there was no steps inside the hot tub. That small issue aside, we had a very enjoyable stay, helped by a fantastic location and very helpful staff

The hotel is excellent. The room was very comfortable and allowed me to relax. The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent.
The setting looking to the sea is superb, watching the waves roll in, just brilliant.
The only downside is the parking can be tricky, due to the number of cars.

The room and amenities are very average, but comfortable. Tiles and caulk in the bathroom need repair. Dinner at the restaurant was very good and the restaurant staff there were also very good. Would be nice to have options for breakfast at an early time.

I go to Ballyliffin to play the great nearby 36 hole golf course. I’m sure there are other nature-oriented options (e.g. hiking around Malin Head and other beautiful areas). This hotel is a comfortable and convenient base for my purposes. The fitness center is a welcome amenity onsite. The staff is friendly and efficient.

Great location with magnificent views and easy access to the area by car.
Check in process effortless and rooms were very clean, well laid out with plenty of space and all the basic amenities.
Unfortunately we did not get to use the spa and had hoped for a massage but you need to book well in advance.
Convenient to have restaurant on site and breakfast included with portions ample. However we were a little disappointed with the service having to ask a number of times for items.

Another superb stay at Ballyliffin Lodge!

We had a 2 night stay in late January and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our superior room was warm, clean and very comfortable with excellent views across the bay.
We dined both nights in Jack's bar and the food was delicious. Served hot with good portion sizes and a reasonably priced bottle of house wine. The bar staff were very attentive and efficient.
A special mention to Helen who looked after us so well at breakfast time....such a lovely lady and a real asset to the hotel.

The property is very nice, but their policies are not. Be very aware that this place does a lot of special events and when those special events take place, room guests are treated like second class citizens Noise till 1pm, no parking….I needed to park 1/4 mile away. The staff and manager could care less. I would never stay there again.

This hotel is in a great location with wonderful views.
It is family owned and has a warm and friendly ambience.
The facilities are good overall, although some aspects are a little tired.
The pool is pleasant.
Breakfasts are excellent, and we also enjoyed the food from the bar menu.
Staff are mist helpful.

Amazing hotel and spa with phenomenal views out to sea. Small village with few amenities so hire car essential. It’s VERY popular as a wedding venue and evenings can be loud music with drunken guests banging doors until the small hours. That said, reception apologised on check out and gave a generous credit as compensation.

Beautiful location. The older lady on breakfast duty was fabulous, so helpful and cheerful. Hot tub not particularly hot and no power on the jets plus the towels are miniscule. Pool lovely. Everything very clean. Beds very comfortable and food great.

A really lovely hotel with excellent food , we ate breakfast and evening meals and alk was top quality.
We really enjoyed making use of leisure centre, besutiful pooland jacuzzi area. Rooms very comfortable, quuet and well stocked with water and tea coffee.
The area is ideal so much natural beauty to explore.

Weekend stay in Ballyliffin lodge

Stayed 2 nights (Fri & sat) on B & B. Got one of the back rooms looking into a field scatted with old PVC windows as a backdrop. Room very basic and quite cold with the heating controls needing constant attention. Small TV with very limited stations available contrary to what it states in the hotel room folder. The hotel is at best a 3* with pool facilities, again a limited selection of drinks available in the bar, thankfully Nancy’s Barn is close by for food

Our balcony room was spacious, and the sea view was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. The room is definitely dated (no smart TV, worn out materials, etc). The location is okay; there isn't much nearby and driving the narrow roads is a bit, precarious, though there is a waterfall and monestary ruin about 5 min drive away which is worth a visit. I appreciated the spacious bathroom. The spa was very nice, and our massages were great. Our room didn't have aircon, and it did get a little warm. We opened the slider door, and that was perfect, but without a screen we didn't feel comfortable leaving it open all night. I wasn't impressed by the restuarant. Nothing I had there was very good (I am being generous--it wasn't good at all), and they desperately need to put out water for easy access at breakfast (having to ask for it is a pain). It's a nice hotel, but it could be improved with updates.

Wee night away

Lovely relaxing night away with the husband. From check in to check out was faultless. We stayed in Room 112 ... beautiful big comfy bed in spacious room. The bathroom was a bit tired, towel rack behind the door could do with being replaced and bath panel could do with a revamp. We didnt have any treatments in Spa but the pool was lovely and warm and we enjoyed steam room etc. The pool very rowdy and noisy around 7pm young lads loud and jumping in and out of pool. This appeared to annoy others who were trying to relax in jacuzzi and one lady said she came down at 7pm for quiet time when no kids were allowed in pool and the noise was worse than a pool full of kids! One other person spoke with pool receptionist and he came out and spoke with the 5 lads .... they may have been friends and his request to calm down fell on deaf ears.
The food in Jacks Bar was really nice as was breakfast. The service both at night and in the morning was fantastic the staff really amazing!

On the day of stay, they hosted wedding party, which i was notified by the message through expedia app in advance but i didnt notice. REGARDLESS, I didn't imagine the level of the noise and it continues until 2AM!!!! my room was shaking with the beats and shouts from the club party and it was NO WAY for me to sleep.
Quality of sleep is extremely important when traveling particularly with jet lag. This experience at Ballylifin Lodge Hotel that ruined my trip was clearly not what i expected for 4-star hotel. I dont understand i had to pay the full price for this experience.
Hotel could have done this differently; better communication with the detail (party until 2 am), limit the volume, allocate room away from the party room (if any room is better), limit the club party by midnight at the latest.

I çould not fault anything.Stall were welcoming and courteous. The bedrooms and hotel wzs spotlessly clean. There was a wide range of food to choose from at breakfast and extensive menu selection for meals throughout the day. Beautiful views looking out to the atlantic ocean. We went to the pool before heading to the terrace for dinner all staff were very helpful through out.Breakfast was lovely again in the terrace so thank you.Will return in the not to distant future

From start to finish it was a great experience
We booked last min.
The room was large good sized beds, comfortable clean.
The bathroom had a shower and bad, also very clean.
The leisure facilities fantastic,
Great mini kids pool, large pool was heated too.
You do have to wear a swimming cap but it was ok.
The gardens and views are stunning.
The restaurant was top quality reasonably price food and drinks.
Waiter and waitress very friendly.
Breakfast good selection of continental then you are served a hot breakfast you just tell them what you want. There is other items available for breakfast at a supplement cost,
Beach and play park a ten minute walk from hotel,
Shop across the road, garage further up the road.
Also a chip shop near by.

Great hotel just picked a bad night

The hotel was nice. We enjoyed the pool area. The staff were all really friendly throughout the hotel. The problem we had was the noise of other guest's. We were beside 3 rooms that all seemed to be together. They were constantly knocking on each other doors like every 10 mins whoch also meant the constant banging of doors. This went on until after 3 am at which point they fell out with each other so then there was shouting and crying etc . I know the hotel cant be responsible for other people having decency but some sort of sound proofing would be great.
