The room is very good/excellent. Very clean. 2 huge comfort beds.
Decent shower although the head was attached to a very short fixed??
Could have done with a smaller shower head or a longer fixed arm to get the drench effect from the large head.

Parking is on street but no problem at all.
Plenty of places to eat within 2 minutes walk.

A little bit of noise from people down in the bar at turning out time but not bad and after midnight not a sound!

Overall pretty good value and comfortable.

Very clean room, modern, comfy beds and lovely fluffy towels. Only downside is the noise outside which really has nothing to do with the rooms, but apart from that it was lovely. Added bonus to be able to use the ballyliffin leisure facilities. Great wee find

Stayed here with work. With the expectation of a bed and a hot shower. After travelling a few hours i arrived around 7pm . Went to have a shower no hot water. Went out to get some food and returned around 9 and again checked the water. Still no hot water. When i went to the bar to query there was some support offered, boiler checked but still no hot water and the offer of a complimentary pint was offered but this was not welcome as i was there on buisiness and just required a hot shower and especially for the following morning before work. The following morning the shower was freezing cold. I had to suffer it and then go to work. I attempted to call later on around 5pm, there was no answer. I phoned the following day and spoke to one of the staff at Joyces and was told the owner would phone back which at this point over a week later i am still waiting. I also wrote to Joyces via hotels.com but didnt recieve a response. I would no recommend this accommodation as the basics of a hot shower were not met and furthermore they did not even have the courtsey to phone back to speak about this

The room was spacious, 2 king size beds which were very comfy. We have an adult son with special needs and isn't independent, the room was exactly what we needed. Each day we returned to find our beds made up and clean towels. Very clean and the staff very friendly. Just be aware there is no food available at this property but there are tea and coffee available in the room.

Situated conveniently in the center of town. Restaurant a couple doors down which served dinner until 8, which was good due to our later arrival. Diamond Cafe across the Diamond was great for breakfast. Opens at 8:30 am. Check-in was easy; just got the keys at the bar and the hostess showed us the room. Street parking was easy and free. We based here to explore the northernmost part of Donegal.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. It was right above the bar and charming street.That was fine until in the wee hours and people gathered outside to socialize before going home - in a way it added to the atmosphere but if sleeping is your main goal bring earplugs.

To check in we had to make our way through 50 drunk 18 year olds to the bar. Then drag our suitcases up the stairs to reach a small room. When I originally booked through Expedia the property's name was Joyce's Bed and Breakfast, but they serve no food whatsoever. The noisy guests downstairs could be heard from our room and I was afraid of leaving our rental car on the street with all of the drunk people wandering around.

The room was clean and had all the amenities you would need but being above a pub/bar was not clearly explained. It was 02:30 when the dj stopped playing the overly loud music it was so loud that our crockery was rattling in our room. We contacted expedia and i took videos as we weren't able to contact the host. We left the next morning and booked into a differnt hotel, although we were due to stay the second night. Currently waiting for the team at expedia to make contact with the host and get back to me regarding this.

The hotel was super easy to check into, room was really clean and beautifully presented with tea/coffee in & small selection of toiletries. The reason I’m not giving 5 stars however is that I had an early flight and the music and noise from the bar downstairs or next door (both lively pubs) was on until 1am and kept me awake even with all the windows closed. Otherwise, if you’re not bothered by the noise, this would easily be a 5* review.

But, because we had a room above the pub ,which was situated on the Main Street. This led to to very rowdy behaviour which carried into the early hours of the morning ( beyond 4am.) its such a shame as I know we would never return to this establishment

Fuss-free stay in Carndonagh

No fuss, no frills accommodation, exactly what was required for our stay. Very large, comfortable beds, easy check-in and out from friendly staff. Full use of excellent gym, pool and all facilities at nearby Ballyliffin Lodge. Ample free parking on High St. Would recommend and re-visit.

If you stay and are coming from Derry-Londonderry, then I highly recommend going through the peat bogs via RedCastle-Drung. Beautiful scenery and then definitely go to the northernmost end of Ireland @ Malin Head.

Joyces is above a pub so some music can be heard but i knew that before booking, place was very clean and comfortable, plenty of places in Carndonagh to eat, recommend butterbean good choice of breakfast. Have srayed 3 times so that speaks for itself.

Directions for how to check in were not clear. You must go into the bar and ask. Very loud techno music. Nothing authentic Irish about it. The keys to the door were extremely difficult to use. The woman who showed us to our room was very nice.

We stayed in the family room. It was so clean and the beds were comfortable. Check-in etc was all very straight-forward and the room was definitely 4* quality. It was also great to have use of the Ballyliffin Lodge facilities - a real bonus. (We ate at Jack's in the Ballyliffin Lodge both nights - superb food.)
The only downside was the noise. Our first night wasn't too bad, but there was a party in the pub on the second night and the noise continued into the early morning.
Saying that, we would stay again but probably only mid week.

A little gem in Cardonough

We were in the area for a couple of days for the wife's birthday and chose this place because of the price and the fact that I wouldn't have to drive to eat of drink
It was a fantastic choice for 60 euro a night the room was big modern and had everything you need even had biscuits to go with the coffee.
The price was an absolute bargain and I would have no hesitation in recommending Joyce's I will definitely stay again next time we are in the area

There was a certain amount of noise coming from the bar underneath and
bar seemed to attract a noisy young clientele. My room faced the street and there would be bar customers out on the street drinking and been noisy. During the day local traders had music playing in centre of town which I could hear in my room all day even with windows closed and music same all day, boring country music. The bathroom at times had a damp smell? and the cold tap in basin always appeared to have warm water coming through. One or two of the staff not exactly helpful, overall a bit disappointing.

Nice - but not for those who like quiet nights!

Room clean & looked recently renovated with tea/coffee facilities . Bathroom was clean with nice shower. Our only issue was that on both Friday and Saturday nights there was very loud music (as in difficult to hear the tv in the room) that went on very late (12.30am on Fri & well after 1am on Sat). If you want to experience pub life in Carndonagh, this is a great spot as it's very central. However, if you want a quiet night because you like to get up early, I would recommend elsewhere. We had no other complaints, other than the noise. It may be quieter during the week.

Well worth a stay

Really lovely little pub and rooms are comfortable and immaculate. A great base to go out exploring the local area and the scenery is stunning. So many places nearby to eat and food is allowed in the rooms. Our only fault was the noise in the evening but it is above a lively pub so is understandable and it goes quiet once the pub shuts. Great wee place.
