Room was adequate at best. Get what you pay for. I got sucked in by the pictures, that look way better than the actual room. Not sure who gave it a good rating. Average at best. C rating for me. I might have given it a B- but the beds were terrible. Hard and uncomfortable. Bathroom light squalled every time we turned on the light. Just an oldl building with a fresh coat of paint in the last couple of years. No counter in the bathroom for the wife to spread out, so getting ready was a challenge. Abandoned cars in the parking lot. Door going to the outside would not close and was not secured. Stains in the hallway floors. Husband and wife team it looked to be. Wife was very nice. Husband didn't like being bothered.

I know you get what you pay for, but the sheets were full of stains, the floor was sticky, and there was no furniture in our king suite besides a bed and tv. The toilet barely flushed and the sink was backed up. The walls were very thin and could hear a child screaming all night. Would not recommend.

Staff was on his phone the entire time not speaking English. Got all the way to my room and my key didn’t work. I walked back down and he acted like it was my fault. Still on his phone. The place smelled like a run down hospital. If I hadn’t just pulled 700 miles on a motorcycle I would have went somewhere else. And to top it off I think the ground was softer than the mattress I slept on.

Started out in a smoking hot tub room! Whole floor smelt like weed. Was moved down to another room with a hot tub room! Seemed better but hot tub didnt work right. So paid for a room with a bit bath tub!!! Figured we go to the pool with a hot tub and relax there! Hot tub not hot! But out TV worked great!

Relaxing couples night.

Things have been stressful between my wife and i and we felt we needed a special night away from the kids to be a couple and relax. The hot tub in the room was great our only complaint would be that the room needed more lighting.

The room did have a lot of empty space so the hotel may want to consider putting a couple of lounge chairs or maybe a loveseat to utilize the extra space.

Hot tub was cold! We requested for the hot tub temp to be raise and was told it was at it highest temp, I had goosebumps bc it was so cold. Stairs smelled like dog pee and when asked for pool towels they were very unfriendly to us. The morning lady was nice but the guy in the evening was not friendly at all and acted like we were a burden.

They refused to heat up the hot tub. It was freezing. 84 degrees is below our body temperature and that’s the highest he was willing to set the temperature and stated that the city told him he cant increase it. I only wanted to stay there so my kids could swim and I could use the hot tub. He was nice to refund half my stay so we could leave earlier.

I would never stay here. I left within an hour of arriving. My non smoking room smelled like smoke. I found a pack of cigarettes in the room, the phone didn't work and they had the a/c heater disconnected. I had to always push a button at the front desk for someone to help me. The pictures I reviewed did not match the room I walked into. The sheets were dirty. There were burn marks on the shelf from cigarettes sitting there. I quickly left and went to another hotel. I strongly recommend staying away from here.

What a nightmare!

It was horrible! Elevator was out so had to climb 3 flights of stairs, then the door was stuck so had to walk back downand up again. Finally got in and the AC wasn't on and it was soooo hot. This is TEXAS ya know, theAC should have been on so we wouldn't have to walk into a hot room. It took 2 hrs to cool off but was never really cool. Then trot back down 3 flights of stairs again with our dogs and bags.

They told me if I pay I can check in at 6:30 am. That was a lie. I get there he told me I would not be able to check in until 2pm. I get there and the room was filthy. I asked for another room and that room was worst and the door was left open. I told him I would come back at 3pm. I had room 101 it was freshly cleaned. The service was horrible. He was so mean to me. But when the room got cleaned the stay was better.

It's a very nice property for a Motel 6... must have been another hotel before Motel 6 took over the property (has an indoor pool). Room 101 actually has a full size fridge and two burner stovetop. To enter, go North on 81 and turn right at the James Wood Chevrolet dealership.

Far exceeds the typical Motel 6

As far as Motel 6 goes, this location is too notch. Interior doors makes for a quieter sleep, the interior hallways are clean and well maintained. The in room fridge was older, but the microwave was good. No coffee maker, but we brought our own. Mattress was comfy-ish, but a bit too firm in a cheap way.

Recharged myself and my EV! Super friendly staff

Lizet (front desk lady) was super friendly and accommodating. I drove my EV (which was almost out of power - and nowhere to charge). I came to the motel to rest up and thinking I'd figure something out later, but as luck would have it, I found a 30A twist-lock (NEMA L6-30) receptacle outside the parking area; which Lizet was happy to let me use.

I woke up to a fully charged car! On top of that, room was spacious and clean. I even used the pool and hot tub which was refreshing. Overall a very good experience and Lizet was a life-saver to let me charge my EV. Super happy with my stay!

We arrived a little after 8 PM. Desk clerk told me my comfirmed, booked room was not cleaned and would not be available until the following day. The desk clerk said that there was only one other room available but I would have to pay extra for it. I have had minor issues with Motel 6 each of my last 4 bookings with them. This was their last chance. I refused the higher priced room which they refused to give me at my original rate and went next door to best western. People there were very nice and had a room available for us. It was a higher price, but worth it to me because the service was so much better. I will avoid Motel 6 from now on. I will still have the battle of getting Motel 6 to refund my prepaid charges. Lesson learned.

I have used Motel 6 for years. I'm a reward member and the whole deal. NOT ONCE BUT TWICE NOW, i have attempted to book a room here in Decatur for when i get into town at around 3 to 5 am just until check out at 11am some 8 to 6 hours of hospitality. Both times i have been told i will have to pay for another day because she cannot change the reservation on her end and its all because thier own guidelines end the options at around 2am. She reiises to allow the reservation to be applied to only those hours. WOW...I went to Best Western and they welcomed me and quickly. Got my keys ready and set ME in motion to a shower and review of work for my fastidious check out and drive home. Thank goodness there are some who realize my business pays the bills and threatening two days charges simply because they are unwilling to be a tiny bit more understanding rather than mildly unreasonable.

Property seemed to be very run down the smell of smoke was horrible. The trash in the elevator and walls not cleaned. No padding in the hall carpet. The television was not programmed correctly. The hot tub jets pointed upwards and heat cycled on and off so never got hot. Desk attendant was on duty and in same clothes for 2 days. Room was not cleaned. Had to go request new towels from front desk.

To start, I thought this booking was some sort of special deal by Expedia - boy, was I mistaken! First, the property entrance is not clearly marked. After finding parking, I entered the lobby along with two guests (residents?) and a breeding pair of 100 pound pit bulls. My check-in was easy enough, although the property owner ended up in a battle royal with two guests over a lost cash reservation. I headed to my first floor king room. The laminate wood floors were not just dirty, but sticky. The mildewed air conditioner - when mixed with hair-coated, wet-dog scented curtains - perfumed the room with a uniquely nauseating scent. You may be wondering why I stayed - I was exhausted from driving across Texas on a 98° day. I had only planned on lying down for a moment when ... slap! What's crawling on me? Yes, BED BUGS. The next morning, the owners were patrolling the first floor with a cleaning cart, booting out the few guests who do not LIVE there. I told them that I had a concern about my room. Thirty minutes later, I pressed the electronic doorbell at the front desk in order to share the pictures/video of the infestation. They heard me from the adjacent living area. Rather than coming to the desk, a woman 'shushed' her kids and ignored me. WARNING: The cost of Benadryl and hydrocortisone PLUS having to toss out your clothing > the money you think you'll save by staying at the Decatur, TX Motel 6. These people care neither about the property nor the guests ... and it shows!
