Well to start off the bathroom sink was dripping and we had to put the trashcan out. The difference between some higher end properties and this one, the maintenance wanted someone present in the room. Where as let’s say the Emily Morgan, just took care of what needed to happen regardless of we were in there or not. The bathroom itself looked like it needed a severe overhaul or was in the middle of one.

Absolutely disgusting

There was mold in the bathroom. The toilet leaked water from the back. There was toothpaste used in an attempt to cover up holes on the bathroom wall above the towel rack. There was an emergency phone on the bathroom wall that did not work.

When housekeeping did the room they did not sweep up the dead crickets that got into our room because the entrance door had a huge gap at the bottom. So I also can assume that the floor was not mopped either.

The phone in the main area of the room by the bed also did not work.
The mini fridge had not been thawed and cleaned in a while as there was also black coloured mold on some of the shelves and there was so much built up ice from improper cleaning that it took up at least half of the entire mini fridge from back to front. Because of this all the food I had in the fridge had spoiled.

There was a hole in the wall by the T.V. that had a piece of toilet paper stuffed into it, I do not know if you could see into the next room as I did not touch the toilet paper to check.

I left several days before my scheduled check out date and was very unhappy with my stay.
The front desk worked said he had attempted to contact me through hotels.com on the day that I left. His suggestion to make me stay was to switch my room.
This room should have not been an option in the first place, it was disgusting and unprofessional. I stayed here with my infant daughter and am never going to be booking at this hotel ever again. Zero stars.

Room right next to construction. Dog poop and cigarette butts ALL OVER just outside room door. No coffee or coffee cups in room although there was a one cup coffee maker. TV remote didn’t work although batteries were good. Could not turn on without finding button under TV. Had to get up to change the volume. Bathtub was dirty. Probably the worst hotel room in 50 years of traveling. The desk person was nice though.

This place is a dive. It is in poor condition and smells like curry powder. There were bugs in the bathroom and the handhold in the shower pulled out of the wall. The room itself smelled like cigarette smoke. Save yourself and stay somewhere else in Decatur.

Service dogs are an Additional $10.00 a nite. any dog is $10.00 Does not matter if service dog or not. Needed the room after Best western Dacatur Texas refused my reservation because of my service dog. Econo lodge is NEVER my first choice.

Holes in the wall around every fixture in the bathroom that were too big for the fixtures, intense mildew smell, over a one inch gap at the door with no weather stripping, 3 inch spider in the bathroom, filthy tub and couch with mystery stains ALL over it. The main hotel sign was smashed out on both sides making it hard to find, and there was not adequate lighting where the truck parking was. The night desk guy was very nice however.

Motel in poor condition. Grounds littered, furniture and debris on the sidewalk. I booked a nonsmoking room. When i checked in i was told that mo nonsmoking rooms were available. When i showed my confirmation for a king nonsmoking room i was offered a 2 queen room which was ok. Room had new paint but trim was not painted. Paint overspray was around room and on furniture. Furniture was old and well worn. Cigarette burns in bedspreads. Ice machine broken. The price was appropriate and i accepted the room for myself but my wife wouldnt have stayed.

My rating reflects the present appearance of a the motel and the surrounding area. I do know they are in the process of renovations so I realize this influenced my ratings. The room was clean but not especially appealing. The hair dryer did not work and the tv remote worked intermittently. These were not life defining moments just an inconvenience. I also did not go to the front office regarding this but I am sure it would have been addressed. I would be willing to give this place a try again in the future.

The first room they gave us it smell so bad of smoke. They gave us another room room looked like it needed painting all the walls looked so bad..
The air conditioner didn’t work or heater, but weather wasn’t bad so we stayed.
In the morning breakfast asked for more eggs and sausage and lady just laugh at us and told her about the air conditioner and she acted like she really didn’t care..

The check in went smoothly but the property itself was very run down. Paint was peeling on room doors and there was clutter throughout the exterior grounds. They also advertised a free breakfast from 6-9 am. I visited at 6:30 and everything was gone and there no effort being made to replenish. The pool in the front of the property looked like a swamp. I should have stayed at the Best Western right next door.

I made a TikTok about how horrible this room was-the couch had mystery stains, the shower - yea no one used it !! The smoke detector looked like it was from the sixties and had grease on it, the floor runner on the bed was old and faded or dirty..looked bad. And then the door, you know that top “slap lock” most doors have—yea this one had one but the part of the lock on the door was missing so it was just the “slap” part. And it advertised free breakfast…it was coffee!! No creamer, and only sweet n low..it was the worst.

Bedsheets were clean and tv was great. The downsides- the lock on the door was falling off with the screws loose. It was hanging. The paint was chipped everywhere. The carpet was stained. The tub was dirty. The lamps didn't work. The couch was shredded in one corner. It was gross. And a little scary.

Service was not good. Place was run down. Got into our room and looked around. Had something in the tub and on the wall that looked like blood. Beds had the smallest pillows I have ever seen. The ac would not change temp, the alarm clock did not work at all. If you set the time it just stays at the time you set it to. WILL NOT STAY AGAIN.

The lady was nice, but the room was so filthy we didn't even stay. We walked out and went across the street to the Lonestar Inn (cheaper price too) and just ended up paying for a room we didn't even sleep in. It was late and we were tired and had tired kids and I just didn't have the energy to fight it. It doesn't look like the pictures at all, that is a different hotel they are showing. Save your money and go to the Lonestar.

Front desk lady was so rude at check in. TV didn’t work, there was urine in our toilet, and overall the room was not clean. We needed towels so we went to the front desk one night, and it looked like we had waken her up and she was so rude to us and told us that “that’s why we should’ve let room service clean the room”. Long story short, NEVER AGAIN, save your money!

I didn't like the drains are slow. The security lock be was broken. The tub had stain in the bottom. The light fixtures were not covered in the bathroom. No air vent exhaust .

Beds are uncomfortable. AC doesn’t work well stayed hot until we went and bought a fan. Yes it’s an old building but you can still fox things. Microwave old and rusty. While the staff was friendly the hotel was very run down the rooms were not very clean food and dirt built up around the wall beside the bed comforters were not clean microwave dirty wall had dead bugs stuck to it above tv. After 1st night we were moved down stairs and upgraded because city condemned the stairs. They are in serious need of renovations. Oh and I thought I was getting an awesome deal thru hotels.com but the price sheet at the hotel said I actually paid 1.00 more than the price they charge normally. 😤

Great hotel for an overnight stay - my review is in relation to the hotel class and not to compare it against higher classes.
The woman at the reception which handled my check-in lady was very friendly and within a few minutes I was on my way to the room. I had a room on the main floor and since this is one of the 'classic' motels (with room access from the outside) I could park my car right in front of the room. That is so convenient when unloading and re-loading the car. Yes, it is an older motel but fully renovated and the room was in very good shape, also the carpet.
Hot breakfast was included and was ready at 6am.
The reception person the next morning was also very friendly, asked how the stay was and handled the check-out quickly. I would stay here again.

The room was extremely quiet which shocked me for open air doorways. No road or neighbor noise and a clean, confortable room. Great amenities and close to anything Decatur has to offer. A+ hotel that I will definitely book again.
