The hotel is in a great location and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lounge was nice but doesn’t offer any food. However, there are LOTS of restaurants within a short walking distance. I would stay there again!

i had booked a king bed and when i got there they said they only had two queens. which were very hard, my wife likes a hard matress and she said it was too hard. location is great. there was some disrepair in the building and only one working elevator. and you have to park a short distance away. room was clean, breakfast was typical and ok. staff was good and friendly. if the matresses were softer it would have been a lot better. I used to travel a lot for work and usually stayed at IHG hotels because of the matresses.

My daughter and I stayed during Freshman Connection as Northwestern State. We were met with friendly people at every turn. The power had gone out right before we checked in but the desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and the room was clean. The atmosphere was peaceful and the location was perfect for our short trips back and forth to Northwestern. I was able to get in a daily walk in a beautiful, safe area as well. We will be back for future events.

Really most everything was really good. The only complaint we have is about check in and check out. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk and we couldn’t find anyone. We knocked on doors, called the property, and looked every. No response. While we were waiting 2 other guests came in. One of them finally left. Eventually someone came in from outside and checked us in. No apology or apparent concern that we had been waiting. When we checked out, the computers had “apparently been unplugged or something” so we just had to turn in our keys. No receipt or anything. The people in the breakfast room and the housekeeping personnel were very nice and accommodating. As I said, our stay over all was really good, just the problems at the front desk.

First of all they cancelled my second nights stay, the hotel called me days after I had made the reservation and said nothing was available that night. I had called the hotel directly to verify that in fact my first night room was available the second night, then I extended my stay on the hotels.com app. No one at the hotel helped me with this at all, and hotels.com offered to put me up in a hotel farther away (I had wanted downtown so I didn’t have to drive during the event that weekend) but I declined and went home early that day. I am disgusted with how easy it was for the hotel to cancel with no repercussions even though they themselves had told me my room was available the next night as well, and how hotels.com just rolled over and let them do it. I will not be using this hotel or hotels.com in the future if my trip can be canceled at the last minute with no one out of luck but me. The trip insurance I purchased did not cover anything either so don’t bother with that.The room was reasonably clean, I missed breakfast, parking was a block over and a block down from the hotel, the staff was great except when I asked about my cancellation.

Room was clean and spacious. The bed is high off the floor so it is not easy to get into if you are short. The hotel is older so areas throughout the hotel are not perfect but, I think it gives a little character to the place. Breakfast is good. Staff is exceptional.

The hotel was someone packed, the one elevator was broken. When you looked in between the bed headboard and the floor, you can see dirt. About close to Midnight, the fire alarm went out and we had to evacuate.

Fire alarm went off at midnight but there was no direction from staff. There was a loud and aggressive person under the influence that tore up the exit door trying to get back in. He roamed the hall screaming for about fifteen min and no one from the front desk would answer. We had to call the police. The hotel was clean but I will probably stay elsewhere next time I visit.

The staff were friendly and breakfast was good. I don’t get having a resort fee for a hotel. When asked it was explained that it covered breakfast, parking, and some other incidentals. My problem with this is that the hotel description said “free breakfast and free parking.” This amount should have just been included in the total cost and take off the “free.” Also, the floor in our room was mighty dirty. When walking across it, my feet were black (right out of the shower).

the fire alarm went off around midnight however that wasn't the problem. the problem was that there was no staff to assist anyone. one worker opened the door for everyone to go outside and one worker stayed in the bar with two gentlemen. there was no one else around. we got no instructions or information as to what was going on. the housekeeping attempted to enter our room without knocking or announcing themselves.

This hotel has so much potential but it just falls short. The property feels outdated and needs a refresh. The paint and carpet in the hallways is very dirty and the showers and bedding in the rooms need a refresh. In addition to this, the water in the shower and lukewarm at best with very little water pressure. This property just fell short for us.

The room smelled strongly of bleach and we could not stay as we found it hard to breathe. There was also no soap when we arrived.

Hotel staff were very courteous and understood our problem with the bleach smell immediately. They told us to contact Expedia to get the refund of what we had paid in advance. We have not yet received that refund. The amount charged when we arrived at the hotel desk was refunded promptly.

Parking was confusing. There is a lot adjacent the building, but you must climb many stairs to enter that way. There is supposedly more parking in a catty corner lot, but we didn't stay long enough to see it.

Select the \"courtyard view\" if you want to be able to see part of downtown Natchitoches from your room. The \"historic view\" now looks on what seems to be a parking garage.

We have stayed at Chateau Saint Denis several times but this time they get a substandard rating. I called the front desk at 830 pm on a Saturday to complain about persistent yelling in the 4th floor hallway over the preceding 15 minutes. I asked that a hotel employee respond to quell the boisterous activity. That seemed like a reasonable request from this frequent patron. Unfortunately, I was promptly dismissed by the employee who stated that their attention to my complaint was not necessary until, and unless, the noise level was bothersome \"after 11pm\". Wow. Poor response. Sorry to bother you with such an \"unreasonable\" request.

The hotel was ok. We have stayed there twice during the month of March. After experiencing the same issue, I decided to write a review. The furniture was very dusty, the desk chairs are peeling, and the wash cloths were very very thin. We requested additional towels and were told that no wash cloths were available. Two of the three containers for shampoo, body wash etc. had been removed. One of the rolls of toilet tissue was placed on the counter. One of the two toilet paper holders was missing the piece to hold the roll. The men working breakfast were very friendly!

Check in was late 1.5 hours due to rooms not being ready. Staff was nice and apologetic but doesn’t correct a checking around 6pm. The continental breakfast was extremely limited to eggs, grits, and sausage. I have stayed there multiple times and this last visit was the worst by far. While I would stay there again I will seek different options next time before going there.

The faux wood floor was covered in something, we had to walk around in our shoes as our feet were sticking to the floor. The shower had a wonderful mold in the prettiest pink color, with a rain shower head that was mounted about 3” off the wall, making for a very interesting shower. It was absolutely disgusting and will NEVER stay here again.

Room 221, 2 queens beds. We checked in around 11:30pm and were greeted by very friendly staff. The small parking lot behind the hotel was full, but they provided free, ample parking right across the street. The area felt incredibly safe. Our room was clean, cold and comfortable:) the hotel is a little older but it's well maintained. The only thing I saw that needed attention was the ceiling in the bathroom. It looked like water damage, but this did not interfere with our stay at all. The free breakfast was delicious: pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, grits, yogurt, OJ, coffee etc...If our daughter decides to attend NSU we will definitely stay again.

The slavery paintings in the dining area are offensive and should be replaced with abstract paintings or something that feels neutral for all races. Needless to say that the paintings show blacks serving white slave owners and there are literally blacks in person serving white hotel guests. This says a lot about the owners and culture in the city that remains in a slave mentality.

My reservation was lost, took over hour on chat with hotels.com to get that fixed. Then to get ready to check out to find my car broken into with a busted window, due to no security in the parking lots.
Then to ask if there was cameras was told only the GM had access to cameras… Was not helpful to get the glass out parking lot, So Now I’m out a $500 deductible plus the cost of the trip.. Due to poor security.
If you feel the need to reimburse me for my stay I will not go call
Corporate and make a google review that will make no one use you guys.

When we booked the trip with Expedia, there was a $41.64 resort fee charge due to the hotel at check-in. We have stayed there many times before and knew this. When we arrived and checked in, the young lady was less than pleasant to work with. I felt the need to check the charges through my online banking, and I was charged 104.98. When I asked why it was 62.00 more than what was printed out on Expedia, she stated that it was for hotel amenities like WiFi, parking, buffet style breakfast. She listed off everything that was listed as free or complimentary on the website. I asked for a detailed statement of all charges and exactly what I was being charged for each item, and she refused. She said she would have the property manager call us to explain. Meanwhile, I was in touch with Expedia. The agent placed me on a brief hold, got a hold of the property manager and let them know that it was dishonest to report something as free on the listing and then charge the customer a considerable amount. The property manager told the agent that it was a glitch in their system and that’s why I was overcharged and they would refund me the difference of 62.00 by the morning. Which they did. However at checkout, I was reminded again that the charge was due to amenities, so think about that for future bookings. This was such a lovely place to stay, but we will never stay here again.

Room was dirty. Upon arrival my room door was propped open and reeked of paint. The shower floor had just been painted and still had paint tape and paper up. Staff was not super welcoming but kind of warmed up after chatting for a few minutes. They gave no heads up about the room being freshly painted and acted like I hit the jackpot with the low rate I got. I quickly realized why it was so cheap. Will not stay here again.

The room is very big, and clean. Bathroom has a shower only, but spacious. The only thing is that there is no vending machines, so you have to purchase water for $5. The location is in the middle of shops, and fine restaurants. Will definitely be booking there again

All the staff were super friendly and accommodating!! Housekeeping could use more training. For a boutique hotel, the cleanliness in the rooms and elevators was subpar. Train them to move items and \"clean\" under and around them, sweep up all items on the floor, then \"mop\", polish the beautiful wooden pieces of furniture (dirty and had greasy handprints on the front, sides, and tops), and sanitize the elevators (it looked like baby oil was smeared all over, looking messy and unclean). In Lot B, all lights were out, and that posed a safety issue for those walking at night, especially single women. I still gave 4 stars because overall it was a great location, well decorated, the sitting area had a peaceful ambiance, breakfast was great, and all the staff had pleasant attitudes! With that said, I would love to return, but would also love to see the above changes addressed and resolved on a consistent basis.
