This historic inn is beautiful!
We stayed in the main building which was built around 1760.
The room was very spacious and set up well. We also had an enclosed 'porch' which was very nice. There was a small refrigerator. A microwave and coffee maker were not in the room. That would have been nice.
The bathroom was also spacious, but had a lot of wasted space. It could have been arranged better, giving a larger shower area. The heat is the old, stand-up radiator/building heat, so there is not much ability to control the room's temperature accurately. The first night was too warm, second too cool, etc.
The best part about staying here was the staff and the breakfast. The staff was fantastic and always available if you needed. They were always pleasant and ready to help. Joe, Lucas and (I don't know the lady's name) were great! Especially Joe!
I always had the omelet for breakfast. It was probably the best I've ever had. There was also a good sized fruit cup, home fries, toast or English muffin and pancakes. Coffee, juice, and, of course, water were also provided. Coffee, tea and cookies were always available in the foyer. The cookies seemed home-made and not store bought. Very good. Even though we stayed 4 nights, our room was made up every day with fresh towels and linens. A few pieces of candy were also set on a tray. Nice.
We stayed here due to the proximity to Canaan.
We would definitely stay here again if visiting that area.
Rated Excellent primarily due to staff.

This place was a mixed bag. The main house was nicely decorated, with coffee, tea, cookies and cake available at all times. Breakfast was outstanding, and Joe was so gracious and amazing. Our room, however, was less than satisfactory. The room was cold, with no apparent means for heat. There was also a sewage smell, especially in the bathroom. Overall, it was ok, but we would probably not stay here again.

A beautiful old Inn that has been well looked after. Breakfast was in a beautiful room and the food and service were both excellent. We also appreciated the complimentary cookies and chocolates in the foyer along with the tea and coffee facilities. The not so good points were the strong smell outside from the piggery (?) which thankfully couldn't be smelled from inside the building. Also the walls are paper thin so we were kept up by our neighbours who turned up late and had their TV going. The toilet paper is incredibly thin and what you might expect from a much cheaper place.

At more than 250 years old, the BRI is showing a bit of wear around the edges, but remains elegant and comfortable. Our lovely suite (larger than our NYC apartment) was comfortable and well-appointed and the staff could not have been more friendly and attentive.

This is a mixed bag. Accommodation for after-hours arrival was terrific.
Breakfast was a real treat! Breakfast: 5 ⭐️.
Room was very basic. Small and sparsely furnished. No TV. No phone. WiFi not working. Comfortable bed. Bath also clean but very basic. Wash basin but no counter. Shower with curtain that lets water onto the floor. Room 3 ⭐️.
But for one or two nights when not occupying the room much more than to sleep and wash-up, it is certainly serviceable.
Would return for breakfast alone!
Convenient to Lime Rock Park racetrack!

The Inn is on a lovely piece of property with trees, grass, flowers. The bathroom was beautiful, the bed was comfortable and there was a common area \"living room\" that had a fridge for guests to place things and a microwave. The pool is fabulous (though it could use some more chaise lounges, there were only 2). The breakfast was truly delicious, made to order every morning. Home made chocolate chip cookies are out for the taking and there are dvds to borrow if you want to watch t.v. There is no cable or roku, so if that is important to you, you may want to bring a laptop as there is internet and you can stream your own.
Campbell Falls is very very close and stunning. There is also a good winery down the street which had some lovely wines.
Overall, this was a perfect getaway.

We stayed one night on our way to Maine form Maryland. Our 1st floor room in the carriage house was cozy. Our favorite part of our stay was having breakfast in the morning room. The host served and prepared a wonderful breakfast -the fruit salad was the best ever.
An improvement would be to have grab bars installed in the tub.

The place was nice enough, but definitely showed it's age as an old house converted to an Inn. The room was big, and the bathroom huge, but the mattress was old and tired. There was no central AC or even a mini-split, it was a very noisy old window AC unit that barely cooled the room, but could not touch the bathroom. We had to shut the bathroom door to get any cooling in the room. I don't hate it, but would only stay in spring or fall when the temps are low.

My stay was excellent. My room was on the 2nd floor right side, next to the window...big enough for a family of 3.
This was a solo/business trip for me and the room has an excellent dining room and meeting/living room with a very nice view if you love green. I slept like a baby. Breakfast was fantastic-freakin-tastic--drop a $20 on the table for the fam. Will stay there whenever I go back up th Limerock Park. The drive to and from Limerock is a dream if u know what u doin...and ya gotta go to the pub up the road...the locals are super freaking awesome!!!

This is a beautiful and charming place. The hosts are very hospitable. This was my best option on a business trip as the usual hotels I use were far from the company I was visiting. All the basics are covered for a pleasant stay. I like to stay in bedrooms with two beds so be aware that the beds are twin size and smaller for bigger people. I did not have any issue with this. Basic housekeeping is done every day. And the place was clean. The breakfast option is very good. There is a book library in the main house and the living room there is an ideal place for a cup of tea and sitting down for some reading. You can prep your tea and coffee because they have a tea station there. I suggest you take the time to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere there. Ladybugs might pop in your room and they did in mine but it is another charming aspect to the place. I highly recommend this homey and charming place. Comfortable and kind to travelers. My rating is excellent/ good for the type of accommodation ( not a five star hotel) but an absolute charming place with a feeling of being in your grandma’s house. I must add the temperature in my room was good for me( I don’t like cold, wet rooms). They do not have cable in their TV but DVR and ai actually watch a movie there. I did not check if they have more DVR available to watch. Again, lovely place with everything in place for nice stay.

Excellent staff, very attentive! The beds were very comfortable, showers had great pressure and good hot water. Breakfast was fantastic and I would definitely stay there again if I’m in the area again! We saw a concert in town at Infinity Hall, a real treasure of a venue, plus we hiked to the top of Haystack Mountain (state park) and enjoyed the beautiful 360 views from atop the tower built on its peak. Also, we hiked to Campbell Falls state park. The concert hall and the two hikes I consider “must do’s” if you’re in the area! There’s probably a lot more attractions in the vicinity, but we were only in the area for 24 hours, so we packed in what we could!

Peaceful and elegant weekend getaway

The inn is very beautiful, we loved the size of the suite. Breakfast was delicious and the staff are so welcoming and kind. We were unable to use the bathtub because the hot water was not fully coming out, if I waited for it to fill the tub it would have taken a very long time and probably would have been cold by then. The shower doesn’t get too hot either. Still a wonderful place, just could fix those small things in M2 suite. Lovely grounds, great location. Nice surprise that they had a smart tv and access to Netflix. Tea was delightful. Thank you!
