The rooms/high-end cabins are beautiful and private very relaxing. The staff and food were excellent. The road into the resort are not unlike a lot of gravel roads in Costa Rica and should not deter you. If you love nature stay here. We did a birding tour with Denis he is very knowledgeable and very enjoyable to spend the morning with. We have been to Costa Rica as tourists 14 times this is a place to visit.

This place was absolutely beautiful but what made it more beautiful was the amazing staff that catered to our every need. Went for our anniversary but plan on going back with the kids. Natural pool after a hike was refreshing. The massage and facial was just what i needed. The road to get there is a bit rocky but once you get there its heavenly.

We stayed at Mariposa Villa and truly enjoyed our time there. The villa layout is spacious and thoughtfully designed, offering both comfort and privacy. One of the highlights was the private jacuzzi tucked behind the house — perfect for unwinding while surrounded by nature. We also loved the personal trail that leads down to a secluded deck with chaise lounges overlooking the river — a serene spot to relax and take in the sounds of the forest.

The food was simple but consistently delicious, with fresh ingredients and well-prepared meals that complemented the natural setting.

However, there are a few things to be aware of. The large glass door between the living room and the patio deck has significant gaps, making it impossible to leave the living room light on at night without attracting a swarm of insects. It would be helpful if the property addressed this with better sealing or screens. Also, while the natural “pool” is mentioned as an amenity, it’s essentially just part of the river with no enhancements — more for wading than swimming.

Communication with the property can be challenging. Their listed Google phone number doesn’t work, and it was often difficult to get in touch with staff when needed.

Overall, it’s a beautiful and tranquil place with unique natural features, but some improvements in communication and infrastructure would go a long way.

This hotel absolutely blew our minds. The 30 minute drive off road was very beautiful and at first made us a little nervous but quickly realized with 4 wheel drive its very easy and fun! Once we got there... We were blown away. The staff. The rooms. The food. THE PRICE. 10/10. The natural pool area to me might be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in my entire life and literally put tears in our eyes. The amount of hiking, exploring, and outdoor activities could fill an entire week. There are only 5 rooms so you feel like the entire property is yours and the staff knew our names only after 2 days. I will forever be amazed with this place and am even looking at building a villa there. GO THERE. Before the secret is out.

Service and premises are excelente this is such a beautiful quiet and magical place. Nevertheless there is an improvement possibility in the dinning the food takes a lot to be served and the taste and quality is not adequate to prices. Additionally on NYE they had fireworks which I consider is not consequent to the ecological experience. I was concerned about all the animal in their surroundings suffering for this

A majestic property with no detail forgotten!

The most magnificent property! A true gem and one of a kind experience. The grounds are absolutely stunning! The mountain villa is epic, the views are mesmerizing and we highly recommend this villa. The food is delicious and the staff is fantastic. The trails to the waterfalls are beautiful and the natural pool is a must!

This property is amazing. The staff are super friendly and everyone knows your name. If you are looking for a quiet nature filled get away, look no further. My fiancé and I did the scenic horseback riding and hiking excursion and the jungle couples massage. 10 out of 10 all the way.

Perfect honeymoon property. This property is a hidden gem. Found it last minute and was extremely delightful with the spacious private bungalow, fireplace, hammock, outdoor shower and overall creative architectural design nestled in the rainforest and surrounded by farms. The fresh farm to table breakfast was rich in flavor and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The only con would be no cell phone service and limited wifi connectivity.

The perfect romantic getaway. The small staff here is so attentive and wonderful. We enjoyed several days at the resort exploring the natural pools and nearby waterfalls or animal sanctuaries at staff recommendation. Our mountain suite had the most breathtaking views, and aside from a few issues with wasps, our room was very well maintained. Staff were quick to respond to requests.

The best offerings here, aside from the large property and natural hikes and pools, are the restaurant and experiences. Our horseback ride hike was an incredibly fun memory, and we wish we were able to explore more. Their farm showed off their beautiful rescue horses and animals like goats, cats, chickens, and hogs. Staff are eager to share more about them to animal lovers like me! We had the most incredible meals - never disappointed by the kitchen. The pineapple risotto, breakfast tortillas and pancakes, and chocolate sponge cake are all musts.

The quiet resort offers beautiful trails and a home away from home. We will be returning if not buying property in their villa community.

Firstly make sure you have a good off road vehicle to get you there as it’s quite far on unpaved roads….but my god it’s worth it when you arrive .Location is fantastic, chalets were lovely with privacy and right in heart of forest . The restaurant again was fantastic with lots of choice but quite limited on time ( 6pm-7:30pm) Breakfast like evening meal was cooked perfect at the same venue with lots of choice. Some nice walks around there but because of time we only did the waterfall walk.For this you need to be quite stable on your feet with good boots.Its about 25 mins each way .Would have definitely of stayed another night if I wasn’t on a schedule .Cant fault anything really !!!

We had an absolute amazing time at Ecolirios. From the minute we got there up until the second we left we were amazed at how beautiful and peaceful it was. We went for a total of 7 days and each day was better than the next.

Food: amazing food and great selection at the restaurant. Manuel was awesome each night and always made sure we were taken care of.

House: our house had an gorgeous view looking out onto a waterfall. Each night we slept like a baby.

Activities: we went on just about all the tours and most were lead by Denis who was so knowledgeable and friendly. Each tour we went on blew our minds and never disappointed. We truly enjoyed ourselves.

Staff: EVERYONE at Ecolirios were nothing but fantastic and made sure we were well taken care of during our entire stay. Thank youuu!!!

Recommendation: Definitely get a 4x4. The road getting there surprised us but it was more than worth it. Bring closed toe shoes good for hiking if you want to do any of the waterfalls or walks.

This property is incredible. It only has 5 units, so even when it's full it feels like you have acres and acres to yourself. The staff was very accommodating and helpful - opened up the bar a little early for us, gave us rides when it was raining, etc. Tony was the best and the food was incredible!!

I believe this place is a diamond in the rough. The property is unique in its goal to provide a green experience as they build up. Their are lots for sale with the intent to build a house to be used as an air bnb but also as a permanent residence if wanted. I have absolutely no complaints, not one. The staff treated me as family, were extremely helpful and making sure everything was exactly what I wanted to relax. The grounds, restaurant are wonderful. I got toucans every morning, other birds and even a leaf praying mantis. The only need you need to make sure is to have an suv as the roads to get in are still in a natural state with lots of small rocks, nonetheless, ar the end of the road lies a slice of heaven as far as I am concerned. The staff I met (Sergio, Tony, Manual) could not have been nicer and so very helpful with any and all questions. I used Ecolirios as a point to drive out from daily to the Caribbean side for beaches, sloth sanctuary, birding. This review comes very highly recommend!!!!

Everything about our stay was above and beyond at Ecolirios. The staff was extremely helpful. Dixie the reservation manager was extremely helpful. My partner and I got engaged while at the property and she helped me to find a nail salon near by to fix my nails ! Sergio our waiter was extremely accommodating and made sure we were comfortable happy and well fed the entire time. The wildlife surrounding the property was immaculate. We saw white face capuchins from our balcony on the morning of my birthday. Amazing experience! We also spotted the worlds smallest humming bird - two resident night jaw hawks near our cabin a Tucan and so much more ! The horse back riding experience was incredible ! The tour guides, Dylan and Brandon kept us extremely safe at all times while giving us a real experience. I got the best sleep of my life while staying here. You could hear the nearby river flowing from your cabin. Lastly the spa experience was great ! Make sure your stay is not just one night because you won’t want to leave!

This was a great experience. The entire staff was very helpful, and very nice. It is a large property with hiking trails that we could explore on our own. I loved the farm to table dishes and fresh food. We did have an issue with electricity for one night in our cabin, but since this is an eco lodge dedicated to conservation and uses solar power it is something that may happen. There did seem to be a backup generator and it was corrected for the rest of our stay. My only recommendation would be to have more staff available for upkeep and use of the pool bar. It seemed a bit neglected and there was an additional sauna room that would be convenient for use in that area instead of walking all the way back to the main sauna. Overall we would come again and had the experience we were looking for!

The property was very beautiful, quiet and relaxing! The staff, especially Tony, was very attentive and friendly. Tony made sure we had a great time. This is a wonderful place that I plan on visiting again! We had the jungle suite next to the river and it was the most and relaxing place I’ve ever been. You hear the water flowing all day and night. There is a nice trail next to the rooms that take you to the glass bridge and to the pool bar, then into the mountains to a waterfall. We got massages during a rainstorm which made it even better. The food and drinks were excellent. Go to this place!!

Ecolirios is a remote jungle oasis in a modern world. The ethos of the boutique hotel (farm to table, sustainable, eco-conscious) is a refreshing change from the large resort environments encountered in Costa Rica. The restaurant features locally sourced cuisine and is inventive, vegetarian friendly, and flavorful. The staff is very attentive and responsive to guest needs. The connection to the land and respect for nature is an integral aspect of all operations of this hotel and truly appreciated.

This hotel is second to none. There is only 5 rooms in the entire grounds, this means within minutes the attentive staff know your name and are doing everything they can for you. The service is excellent, the food excellent and the rooms are great. Loved the outdoor shower and glass toilet. We did an incredible day trip with Denis to waterfalls on horse back. Highly recommend the entire experience.

Amazing Resort; Exceptional Service; One of a kind

Our experience at Ecolirios was AMAZING! We have previously been to CR before and were looking for a different experience this time. The resort is off the beaten path and is its own eco-friendly paradise. The owners Isabel and Ramon are both architects and their vision for a sustainable resort comes to life across their 160 acre property. Every building on the property is designed to be bioclimatic. Our room was amazing and extremely spacious. The entire staff on the property were extremely friendly and passionate about making sure that our experience was exceptional. The cuisine made by chef Fabian rivaled any top restaurant. Tony, Sergio and Manrique were brilliant; heir customer service went above and beyond. Every other staff member we encountered were also wonderful. We have had the pleasure of traveling extensively and staying at various 5 diamond properties. I would put our experience at Ecolirios at that level. Their attention to detail is as impressive as a Four Seasons. They made our entire experience worry free. They helped schedule our transportation to and from the airport as well as the various activities/tours we selected. If you are looking to truly disconnect and get back in touch with nature, this is the place you have been looking for. If you do need to stay in touch, they do have free wifi. I recommend contacting the hotel via WhatsApp. They are great at responding to any questions or concerns that you may have. We can’t wait to go back. LOVED IT!

The rooms and the overall property were just breathtakingly beautiful. The staff was incredible and made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. Especially Manrique at the reception, Sergio at dining, and Dennis during our horseback riding. They each made our stay so personal and I would come back just to visit them. It was our first stop in Costa Rica and immediately I just fell in love with it. The only downside is the ride car to the place. Incredibly bumpy even in our 4x4 especially if you don’t normally drive on bumpy roads. But we got used to the roads eventually during our stay and looking back it wasn’t so bad. Definitely was a surprise in the beginning. The owner and architect of the entire place, Rodolfo, and his family were also very kind and nice. It was such an honor to meet the person who’s vision brought the place to life. Not to mention they only have 5 rooms total in the entire place so it makes it a very intimate and quiet setting as well. You can definitely connect with nature here.

Ecolirios: Superb and elegant in many ways!

Ecolirios is a hidden gem! We stayed there 2 nights on our way to the Pacuare River Rafting and had an amazing experience added to superb service.
The rooms (and the entire hotel! ) are elegantly designed in wood and glass with details on the decoration that make them cozy and inviting. The hotel has a trail, through a waterfall that you can see from a glass bridge - fantastic and unexpected! My teenagers had a blast. I STRONGLY recommend.

Best place to stay in Costa Rica!

Our favorite place we stayed during our month long Costa Rica trip. A true ecological village in the making. Every jungle suite is so thoughtfully designed with large windows to bring in light and you feel like you’re sleeping in the jungle. The sounds of the birds and howler monkeys are audible. Each suite has an indoor bathroom with an outdoor shower which was just brilliant. We stayed for 4 nights. Recommend the rafting and tour of the property! Stellar service. They’re very responsive to anything you need on WhatsApp. One thing to note is it is a 40 minute drive on a fairly rocky and difficult dirt road, so be prepared for that either with an SUV or 4x4. The remoteness is worth it though!
