Parking is great. Pool small but warm…only available 1 hour in the morning to guests. Staff are miserable…rooms badly need updating, toilets are black in places, need bleaching, the hotel feels like a pub as you walk into a bar with wit tv screens blaring sporting events. This is definitely not a luxury Marriott but ok for a night before London if you want to drive and catch the train into Victoria. A room facing the race course is pleasant but the rooms just look scruffy and it all needs refurbishment, it’s tired. As are the staff.

Lovely staff, very helpful. Decent hotel, good location for golf and racing.
Shame about the restaurant though. Disappointing starter of ‘succulent prawns’ and crab custard. Instead of prawns they used tiny shrimps and couldn’t taste any crab. We ordered two starters, but were told after ordering that that only had one left. Bearing in mind this was only at 6pm, I hope no one else wanted the same!
They did deduct it off the bill however.
We ordered chip with our mains but had to wait until halfway through before they arrived.

We have stayed at this hotel 6 times previously, great for the Lingfield races. This occasion we got a first floor race course view close to the finishing post. Turned up 2 hours prior to normal check in time and was allowed to check in. Always find the staff here pleasant and helpful. After the race had drinks in the bar, good atmosphere. Room was great, lovely king size bed. Breakfast was great as usual but very busy at 0845. No shortage of either fresh fruit, cereals or hot full breakfast. Staff kept on top of this. We will use this hotel again.

Only disappointment was that we’d booked it for the racing and that had been cancelled due to being waterlogged so we went to Brighton instead

Mitch on reception, very welcoming & friendly. Great ‘Director of First Impressions’.
Room was absolutely lovely.
Food amazing, especially brekkie! (Chef very friendly and accommodating). Gym, small but had decent equipment. Spa, lovely (although disappointed that the steam room wasn’t operational) and bar staff exceptional. Dody is such a credit to your team.
Loved our stay and will most definitely be back xx

To be fair the staff were all really lovely and helpful. But the hotel is worn and outdated. The room was nice but pretty basic. Definitely needs a revamp. We went in the spa which I visited 15 years ago and its still identical except the spa shower wasnt working, nor the ice chips. Cracked paint/plaster in the ceiling above the pool and all along the changing room corridor. Nice, but no where near what I expected it to be like. Shame really as it was a special treat for us. Cheap sausages at breakfast too, with stale pastries, the coffee machine was also coming up with errors. Not good enough, would not recommend or stay there again.

The only reason I would stay at this hotel is if I was attending a horse race meeting
Lingfield itself is quite a walk..so if you are not going to eat in the hotel, & don't want to drive or taxi, it's a trek
The rooms are large & comfy, & I didn't experience any noise, so slept well
Ample free parking available
Food in the restaurant was nice & plentiful
The safe in our room was out of order

Specifically requested one room needed to have a bath and that the rooms were next to each other - received neither on check in. Had to move to a room with a bath which was a long way from the other room. Rooms are dark with several light bulbs not working. Terrible experience in the restaurant for dinner. Steak was inedible so sent it back, second steak also inedible so one of our party went without a main course. No deduction offered on the bill.

Despite calling ahead of our visit to request early check-in as we were attending a wedding, and assured this wouldn't be a problem, the receptionist wasn't particularly friendly or accommodating on arrival. I had also phoned ahead to book a taxi which wasn't arranged either. We waited patiently in the bar area watching while other guests were booked in...The room was average. The bedroom had disabled facilities which were not requested, and there were no glasses or tea cups. Bedding was clean and room was adequately cleaned. The young lady serving at the bar was friendly and more welcoming, I'm not sure we would return based on this visit. It's a shame because the location is good and the grounds looked lovely.

We had an okay stay here, but it didn’t quite live up to other Marriott experiences we’ve had.

On the plus side: free parking was convenient, check-in was quick, and the room had plenty of handy plug sockets. Breakfast was decent by UK standards, with friendly service — though bread options were poor, and the waffles were so sweet even our daughter couldn’t eat them.

The room itself was just “ok.” It felt dated, a bit stuffy on arrival (the window barely opened), and the bathroom had some scale and mould in the corners. The duvets, like in many hotels, were far too thick for comfort.

We tried the pool and spa but were disappointed — the pool was very cold, the jacuzzi was bubbly but also cold, several spa areas were closed, paint was peeling in the changing rooms, and one of the two escalators was out of order. On the positive side, the showers were well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and gel.

All in all, not terrible, but not worth nearly £170 per night. The place has clearly seen better days and would really benefit from a refresh and better maintenance.

Staff very polite and helpful. All public areas were clean and welcoming. The toilets were clean and well maintained, they were lovely facilities.
The bar area was quite small and it was hard to find a seat but apart from that it was lovely.

Worst meal I’ve had in a long time. Ordered rump steak from the grill- so tough. Was given a second one which wasn’t a lot better. My husband had half a chicken, poor presentation but very expensive for what it was. I would’ve expected much better from Marriot- such a shame. Won’t rush back.

Nice spacious room overlooking the racetrack. Convenient for area we weee visiting. Nice staff and breakfast was excellent. Let down by lack of cleaning. Our room was clean but there was stuff all over the floor which hadn’t been hoovered properly, the room was very ‘tired’ and needed some tlc for example, curtains were ripped and had holes in, furniture was dark and dreary and in areas had damage. Perhaps an upgrade would be needed? Bathroom lovely and spacious and clean. The other obvious area that should have been swept was the outside eating area. On day 2 the same rubbish was on the floor. It wouldn’t have taken staff 5 mins to see to this.

We weren’t there for the horse racing or golf - visiting nearby Hever Castle - but having breakfast looking at the veil of mist over the racecourse from my breakfast table was a pleasant surprise. Good reasonably priced breakfast too. Room was comfortable and clean. Parking awkward when we arrived at the end of a race meeting, but plenty of space later.

Don't come here for the pool or spa

We were only staying for one night and had picked the hotel based on the pool and spa facilities. The pool was like a bath, at 36 degrees, which was horrible to swim in. The cold showers for the saunas weren't working and the hot tub was also out of action. The whole of the swimming pool area felt really tired and in need of an update. The air con in our room wasn't working. In fairness we didn't speak to the hotel about it that night as we had sleeping children in bed that we didn't want to disturb.
