Very musty smelling, shower floor broken and leaking and moldy, general run down room with exposed wiring and pipes. Ok for 2 guys to just sleep and go. Not for a family.

They gave my room to someone else

Showed up to check in and they told me they didn’t have the room, someone else had it. I told them I had a reservation and they said they gave it to someone else. The people who were there decided to stay another day. She said her friend down the road had another family room. We went
There, less beds, smelled like cigarette smoke, ended up driving to Guymon and spending an extra $50 for a room. You can’t do this to people, we make reservations for a reason! So we don’t have to spend time trying to find a place to sleep when we couldn’t doing other things

We loved the option of a room with 4 different beds for the family! That way the 5th one didn't have to sleep on the floor. The beds were plenty comfy and everything was clean enough. It was easy and convenient and good for a simple night's sleep, arriving late and leaving in the morning. I appreciated how even at a small place like this, we were able to check in at midnight.

The room was clean, the only issue we had was at check in the clerk wanted my pin when trying to get payment from my card. I refused so she used the tap and pay feature. Check out was easy. The Applebees in town was amazing.

I WOULD NOT stay here again.

Well we booked the family room and arrived at the hotel late at night to be told they had given it to someone else. They did give us a room with two queen beds but that doesn’t quite work for five people. Next time we will pay the extra to go somewhere that won’t give away our room, especially when traveling with five people. We didn’t even have five pillow left in the room.

Simple , clean , easy to park my truck and trailer . Wonderful mattress and pillows and shower . If you are traveling and just need a place to stop and sleep this is it . Microwave and fridge was a bonus . You can’t beat it for the price , I was very pleased .

Room \"unavailable\"

We got there and the lady nonchalantly told us our room was unavailable (we booked a room with 3 doubles and a twin). I told her we then needed 2 rooms for the same price as what we booked. She just stared at me for awhile. She then told me she could get us one room with two queens and one room with one Queen for the same price. I told her that I needed to have four beds because we were traveling with three teenagers and they don't sleep together. She said she only had one room with two beds. I hadn't given a credit card yet so I think she noticed I was going to leave. At that point she did inform me that she did have a room with two beds - one was a double bed with a twin bed in the room. I told her we would take that. So at least all of my kids had beds. Unfortunately, we weren't able to be right next to each other. The hotel room was clean but stinky. No air on so it was hot. We got it running but it took awhile to cool off. After reading other reviews I wouldn't book this hotel any way other than calling directly. She told me that when I booked she \"forgot\" to make a note that the family room was booked and so gave it away to a different family. AND I still had to pay $10 more for my two rooms because of her mix-up. I know it's only $10 but that's not the point. I wouldn't have done it except for it was already after midnight when we pulled in and we were exhausted!

I would NOT recommend this hotel. We stayed in a larger room, as there were 3 in our group. The room smelled musty, causing two in the group with asthma to have coughing issues. One in the group found a used tissue in the room. Another found a clump of blond hair in the bed when the covers were turned back on the bed. NONE OF US HAVE BLOND HAIR!!!!! We slept on top of the spread, covered ourselves with jackets/coats, slept poorly, and left before 7 am. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Don't expect the owner to do any thinking.

Didn't get the room I paid for then the owner refused to refund the difference. Beds are super uncomfortable. To be honest I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my truck.

Room cost was more than cited on my Hotel.com reservation. Clerk at desk said that more taxes than were needed.

It was fine for just a night stay. Clean and new bathroom. Nothing matched so it wasnt beautiful. But it was clean and had all the basic stuff. We drove a long day and just needed a place to sleep and get up and drive again.

Our room was freezing when we got there. It looked like the owner/caretaker had his friends park their cars next to the first few rooms so it looked like people were staying there but weren't really. This got a decent review with Orbitz and very disappointed that the experience didn't coincide with that rating.

Owner was not friendly at all. Rooms are very out dated and there were wires To the lamps and TVs everywhere. The heater was so loud but at least it worked. We only needed to sleep for a few hours so I guess it served it’s purpose for the price. I would NOT recommend this place for anything other than just catching up on sleep. PS. Bring your own pillows!

Old motel, but great for a traveler on a budget

If you are used to staying at high-end chain hotels in brand new buildings in upscale cities, the Kansan Motel is NOT that kind of place. This is a small, older roadside motor-inn along Highway 54. If you come in with the attitude that you are staying at a budget-friendly place where you can get a good night's sleep in a clean, but no-frills motel without breaking the bank, then this is the place for you.

The rooms are small, the furniture is ancient, and some of the maintenance looks like your brother-in-law Chuck did it. If that's a deal-breaker for you, then there are other hotels in town that charge more, but look a lot nicer. However, the fact of the matter is, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the price is right. If you can look past the cosmetic stuff, this isn't a bad place to stay.

That being said, I wouldn't recommend staying here if you are a family of four spending a week's vacation in Liberal (but who vacations in Liberal, anyway) however if you are passing through for the night or if you are in town for a few days for work, save your cash and stay here.

The last thing I want to mention is that while I was here I accidentally damaged something in the room. I apologized to the manager/owner and offered to pay for it. He was super cool about it and wouldn't take my money. While I don't encourage anyone to break stuff in motel rooms, that customer-oriented attitude goes a long way in my book.
