Hotel room is terrible, it’s old, smelly, stay elsewhere. Breakfast is also not great, one big dish of scrambled eggs and that’s it from hot food. WiFi does not work, tried to work on laptop and without success. Staff is nice and helpful. The price is ridiculous for place like this!

I checked into this hotel at midnight after a long days travelling - the staff was very friendly.
However, after i arrived in my room i found food and drink in the fridge and also on the table presumably from previous occupant. There was a bag of open sugar and half a bottle of 7 Up so hardly welcome gifts....

Had no other choice but to stay here but wouldn't stay here again. Too noisy. Rooms were through a bowling alley in a very noisy atrium. People were talking on the balcony next to ours til 3am. Room was clean and comfortable enough but outdated. Personnel friendly. Overall would rate this hotel. 2 1/2 stars.

An out-dated hotel, but the rooms are still comfortable. We paid for our two night stay prior to arrival. On check out, we were repeatedly asked to pay again, despite showing payment confirmation documents. Staff became unfriendly after we showed them we'd paid. Perhaps a record keeping error, unprofessional either way. Would stay elsewhere if possible.

The staff are the main attraction in this hotel. They are very friendly and helpful. Rooms and decor pretty basic, has a bowling alley and an outside stage area, is it a hotel or an amusement arcade ?

Limited Choice
There is a limited choice of hotels in Den Helder, with an offshore Heliport nearby so there is always a demand for rooms. The bed was hard with what appeared to be a waterproof mattress protector on the bed. The shower is so small if you leave the curtain closed it clings to you, so I found it best to leave it open. Not all channels were working on the television and I asked at reception if it could be fixed, the young manager said he would come and have a look. I never saw him. Internet was free but slow / connection kept dropping out

Fine for a few nights
Location was a 10 minute walk from the town centre and met my needs for a 3 day business trip. Internet was free and worked in the room as well as the restaurant. The inclusion of a bowling alley and performance centre may detract in season but out-of-season was unused so didn't disturb. Breakfast was stand continental self-servce & fine.

Het personeel van Hotel Den Helder is bijzonder vriendelijk en enthousiast! Er waren fietsen te huur en de bowlingbaan geeft de gelegenheid om ‘scavibds nog een balletje te gooien. De staat van het hotel moet je op de koop toenemen.De zee is op 7 minuten fietsen .

The hotel was really good for the price. The service was amazing, the personnel helped whenever there was an issue. For example we needed extra towels to go to the beach and got them without a problem.

From the hotel you can go everywhere you need in 10 minutes or less by bike. The bike in general seems to be more practical to move around Den Helder as tourist attractions (like the ferry to Texel) are frequented a lot by cars.

Personeel is heel vriendelijk en service gericht! Ontbijt is prima. Hotelkamers zijn sober maar wel echt schoon! Het is er wel erg gehorig. En eigenlijk is het hele hotel gedateerd. Om bij de hotelkamers te komen moet je dwars door de bowling baan. De bowlingbaan geeft erg veel lawaai. 1 van de redenen wasrom wij er niet wilden dineren.

Hotel is in de jaren 70 blijven hangen. Inderdaad door de bowlingbaan naar je kamer. Personeel totaal niet flexibel. Ontvangst was alles behalve vriendelijk. Altijd het laatste woord willen hebben. Opmerkingen zoals ga eerst maar even door Den Helder lopen, want de kamer is nog niet klaar, raakte kant nog wal. Verder werd de koffie op de kamer niet aangevuld en alleen de handdoeken vernieuwd. bed niet recht getrokken oid. Na het douchen moest je met een schoolslag naar de kamer. Water gaat alle kanten op. Douchestang los enz. Gewoon alles zwaar gedateerd. Geen aanrader!!!

Ett något udda hotell inrymt i en stor anläggning med Bowling och rymligt inomhusatrium där de har då det är lågsäsong. Rymliga rum och välstädat. Det var varmt när vi var där, men svalt i rummet. Vi hade hund med oss och kunde inte använda balkongen för att den skulle lätt skulle ta sig in på balkongrannar för att leta mat. Omgivningen är trevlig med stranden på 2,5km promenadavstånd. Restaurangen provade vi en kväll, men var inte imponerade.

Het is wat gedateerd de kamers en opzet , vloerbedekking is niet meest schone/netste maar het voldoet . Rustig gebied her en der wat rumoer van de bowlingbaan maar dat is na 23.00 wel klaar dus niks verkeerd aan. Sanitair kan een opfrissertje gebruiken maar alles werkt en is schoon dus prima 👌

Nach update auf die €180 Option, stellt sich heraus, dass das nur die Größe des Zimmers betrifft, nicht die Qualität.
Es wird an allem gespart, von der zweiten Nachttischlampe über die auch dürftige Zimmerbeleuchtung, die nicht ganz zu öffnenden Fenster, bzw. der nicht vorhandene Austritt aus einem ebenerdigen Zimmer im Erdgeschoß :-/
Das Frühstücksangebot ist dürftig und von minderster Qualität.
Anscheinend subventioniert man durch den überzogenen Preis die Bowlingbahn andere \"Spaßangebote\" im Haus.

Schöner Aufenthalt mit kleinen Schönheitsfehlern
Hotel Den Helder liegt einen Sprung außerhalb der Stadt in einer sehr schönen Gegend nicht weit vom Meer und hat einen eigenen Parkplatz.
Das Hotel ist schon etwas älter und hat einen gewissen Charme. Leider sieht man das Alter aber auch an angeschlagenen Möbelteilen ( abgeplatztes Holz) , Löcher in der Bettwäsche (die Wäsche aber allesamt sauber!) einfach ausgeführte Reparaturen an. Das Zimmer war geräumig, dafür aber der Toilettenbereich im Bad sehr eng. (Im Sitzen standen die Kniee an der Duschtrennwand an. Bin 1,73 m groß...) Im Aufenthalts- sowie im Restaurantbereich hängen doch so manche Spinnweben in der Ecke. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und gut wie auch das Essen im Restaurant sehr fein.
Das Team ist ausgesprochen nett, freundlich und hilfsbereit und steht mit Rat und Tat zur Stelle.
Im Großen und Ganzen hat uns der Aufenthalt im Hotel und der Stadt wie der Gegend sehr gefallen.

Dafür das dass Hotel mit Sauberkeit geworben hat, muss man sagen das Ich noch nie so ein unsauberes und altes Hotel erlebt habe, überall noch Krümmel, Staub auf den Tischen, Kippenstummel auf dem Balkon (15-20 Stück).
Sehr unfreundliches Personal, Kühlschrank wärmt eher auf, als das es kühlt…. Meine Empfehlung dann 50€ mehr in die Tasche nehmen und mit bedacht das Hotel auswählen.

Das Zimmer war gross, aber die Beleuchtung sehr dunkel. Die Heizung funktionierte nicht, auch nach melden. Die Badezimmer & WC waren nicht sauber. Nicht alle Personal können Englisch sprechen. Kein Wasserkocher.
