The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city. From the train station, it is a bit of a walk uphill. We had been traveling by train and decided to take a taxi to the hotel. Walking back to the train station was easy, as it was all downhill.

Everything is very modern and renovated. I loved our modern bathroom and shower. The bed was very comfortable. A portable air conditioner was also provided. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was included and it was as good as other hotel breakfasts that cost extra. This hotel was a good value.

I would have rated this property excellent, however, no hot water in bath/shower during 2 night stay. Staff tried to address but was unable to do so. Told us hotel was full and could not change our room. Provided us with bucket to transfer hot water from sink to tub.

This hotel is middle of a shopping center which makes it hard to get in if you have a car. The parking is around half mile away. You have to unload or load your luggage then take your car to a $17 per day public parking. They also don't have A/C but a portable one which doesn't work much even in June because of the air circulation in the hotel. Otherwise, the hotel is clean and breakfast is good.

Great central location. Top floor is where one checks in has a very neat cafe with plenty of seating and good atmosphere. Slight to me downsides of hotel were no mini-fridge or coffee machine and staff very busy on top floor so often need to wait to speak to someone. But service of staff was excellent

Lovely Stay in Lausanne

Our first night of a Switzerland vacation, Hotel des Voyageurs was a great start.Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had two special requests that they handled flawlessly. Our room was a two-room suite - bedroom and sitting room. Both comfortable. The breakfast room is bright, spotless, offering well presented good food. The hotel is well located, an easy walk from the train station to connect from Geneva airport or to go down to Ouchy for dinner. The only drawback was that the hotel (like many in Switzerland) is not air conditioned so we were a bit warm (summer high temperatures).

Loved the location, convenience, proximity to transit, dining, and shopping. It was a little noisy at night and sometimes the smell of cigarette smoke from the street would come through an open window. I suppose that's the tradeoff for being in a popular part of town.

Very nice place in the center of Lausanne, friendly, clean, of course. Maybe management should consider asking the guest if they want to have towels changed everyday to reduce some more the environmental impact of the stay.
Last, breakfast is nice, largely sufficient and diverse. If and when back in Lausanne, if still within my price range, I'll gladly stay there.

it's a three stars hotel, but it's in the city centre which is easy to access via either walking or underground. it have a quite big room, the soundproof has a little bit problem, opposite my room, there's an old couple which turned TV volume a little higer and I can clearly hear every words in that TV show around 11.30pm. Anyway, they turned TV off shortly.

The recepitionist is helpful and very nice lady. Breakfast is very nice but they requsted switzerland covid pass rather than NHS covid pass to access the canteen is a strange request which I was in swizterland just for 5 days, no any restaurant and hotel request that. I understood that's maybe Swiss rule but apply that Switzerland Covid pass takes 5 working days, it's obviously not suited with short time travellers. It should be considered by the Hotel.

The room was spacious and clean. There was only USB A plug around the bed, so it was not super friendly to charge a modern phone overnight. We arrived late after the check-in time and the hotel made the necessary arrangement for us to stay there. The breakfast was great with a good selection of fresh products.

For the price this hotel does everything it is supposed to. Good clean room, great city centre location, friendly staff, and a high quality breakfast. Only thing to be aware of is that the location in on an inclined road with no car access - remember Lausanne is a hilly city. Metro is nearby too.

Pros:
- Clean and modern
- Room size adequate for one person
- Bed very comfortable
- Good selection of channels on TV
- Bathroom with a modern feel
- Good pressure of water from the shower.
- Good breakfast assortment.
- Location close to many shops
- Really nice service and help from the hotel desk

Cons:
- a bit of leakage from the shower area to the restroom area due to the design of the shower door
- no view and nearly no sun light. I had a view on the backyard. It is acceptable for a few days stay but not for more. Maybe the rooms on the streets are better regarding this issue, but I cannot give a comment for those rooms.
- USB plugs near the beds were non working (4x USB) and I could not find a power outlet near the bed.
- As read in a previous comment, a self serving coffee machine for the breakfast would be welcome.

The location of the hotel was excellent. Located in the city centre, it was walking distance to a bunch of shops, restaurants, cafes, and historic sites. It was also very close to the train station. Upon checkin, they provided us with the travel pass for the city, which meant that we were able to take advantage of the public transportation system.

The staff were extremely courteous and friendly. The rooms were extremely clean and well organized. The breakfast had a wonderful variety.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay there again when we go back.

I can't fault the staff and service at all especially after I left my mobile phone in the room when we checked out and they were extremely helpful and efficient at sending it back to me in England.

Everything you would want in a hotel. Central but quiet location. Friendly and helpful staff. A large comfortable bed
and spotless bathroom with instant hot water. Very nice buffet breakfast with a good selection to suit all tastes.
We spent five nights in March and we would recommend this hotel to anyone. It had a major refurbishment a few years ago and it is immaculate. Very modern efficient lift as well. There are nice restaurants, bars and a tea shop nearby
and the Metro is about 400 metres away. Absolutely perfect.
It ticked all the boxes for us and we hope to come again.

Excellent location, within easy walking distance of Flon metro station and Lausanne shops, restaurants and bars. It’s a very quiet hotel, despite its location; you heard hardly any noise from outside or from other guests, such as doors closing and footfalls of others that are normally experienced in hotels. We stayed in an inner room, overlooking the breakfast room roof so not overlooking the street. Therefore can’t comment on whether front facing rooms encounter any noise from outside. These rooms do however have small balconies.

It’s a small hotel, with just a reception area and breakfast room. Buffet breakfast with good choices, the scrambled egg sometimes ran out but they’d make you some on request. The hotel is Art Deco style, which has been well refurbished, with lovely features.

We stayed in a very comfortable superior room, with a nice bathroom and great shower. Good TV and channels. Coffee maker, kettle and tea and coffee provided, the only improvement would be some milk cartons as you could only have black tea/coffee.

Free water was provided in the fridge for the duration of our stay, a very nice touch.

We stayed here whilst visiting family living in Lausanne and will definitely book this hotel again.

What an amazing hotel! Newly renovated boutique hotel with modern amenities. Room is very spacious and has a very nice bathroom (large with two sinks). Breakfast was great (fresh, healthy and many selections). Conveniently located, close to “old town” shopping and tourist attractions, close to transportation (5 min. from main train stations, and 10 min. from lovely waterfront areas. Hotel is quiet despite it is in the center of town. I highly recommend this hotel.

Confusing information

It's really not fair for me to give a rating since I couldn't stay here... I sent two emails already with no response from Hotels.com. My paperwork said that if you arrive after 11 pm, you have to make other arrangements, which is what I did, since my trains were delayed... but once I got Wi-Fi, I had been sent an email from the hotel telling me an access code to get my keys! This hotel booking was stressful! And ultimately expensive since I had to pay for two hotels that night.

Not a Hotel for Everyone

This Hotel was not for us because:

The room was hot and stuffy. No air conditioning. The fan did not cut it. We visited when weather was hot. Therefore, it was difficult to sleep under these conditions.
The bed mattress was not comfortable. We are not fans of memory foam.
Because of the room dimensions and location of the one window directly behind the bed, the room had insufficient natural light for us. As a result, we felt claustrophobic.
The pillows were not comfortable.
The sheets were rough, not soft.
No coffee maker. A Nespresso machine would have been nice for a coffee while my wife was still in bed.
The lighting from various electric bulbs was rather harsh.
The room felt very tight.

Having said that, we liked the location, the price, the wifi and the breakfast. The room was clean. Bathroom was nice, but space between sink and shower very tight. The shower door did not close fully resulting in some water escaping in front of the sink.

Location is unreal. If you are debating about staying down by the water or in town near the restaurants, stay in town. The hotel gives you a train card and it's only 2 quick stops away. Rooms are a bit small (it's Europe) but fitted out very nicely. Breakfast included is great and you'll walk away stuffed.

Overall the hotel was great. The wall that separated the bathroom from the bedroom was frosted glass. So why you couldn't quite see the person in the bathroom, you could much see their outline. I joked about renaming the place Hotel Voyeurs! There was also a lamp in the room that we couldn't figure out how to turn on and neither could the staff. They were however, very friendly and helpful in general

Hotel is Very Nice. Updated and Modern. Lot of charging points at rooms including Multiple USBs. Very comfortable beds. Clean design in rooms. Staff is great.
Be aware though IF coming by a car that May have difficulties navigating mostly pedestrian narrow streets leading to the Hotel. IF coming by a car and using Google maps may overlook it. Moreover most likely it will be Yours Only Car on the street among pedestrians around.
Hotel offers parking at contracted rate at Central Parking which is half a mile away. So you drive to the Hotel, unload luggage, then park / when leaving - repeat in reverse. Hotel offers free public transportation card for duration of your stay at Hotel. In Summary: Highly Reccs.

I enjoyed it very much. The day man was rather crabby, but the night lady was delightful and extremely helpful! The cities are beautiful, but the attention to tourism is undergoing a makeover they say. No one in the train station even knew where the tourist office was. It was outside of the train station and down the road. Anyway! It is a fantastic place! I should have allowed more time. It is a couple of fairly large cities. LOVED MY BOAT RIDE! The scenery was devine.

Weekend in Lausanne

It was one of the coldest weekends in Lausanne. But at least the hotel was superb. Extremely clean hotel areas, room, and facilities. It is located within walking distance to the old town which means shops, restaurants , historic places, etc. Several pubs and clubs nearby too.
Highly recommend for downtown stays.
Other additional perks include, very friendly staff, breakfast, and free internet.
