WOW - what a fantastic stay. I am always worried when a hotel as perfect reviews - but Ardwyn House deserved it.

Everything is well thought out (Which is amazing, given the age and style of the building) -a really fantastic character.

The host was very helpful pleasant and welcoming. The whole house was beautiful great care had been taken to furnish snd decorate in art deco style. Breakfast was wonderful and tasty nice local produce. Our friends joined us for a game if pool in the library before we went out. Fantastic place

Roger was an exceptional host!

We had a wonderful stay at the Ardwyn House. Roger and his family were incredibly welcoming, hospitable, and friendly from the moment we arrived. His fantastic, scrumptious, and elegantly laid-out breakfast table was a true highlight — a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. 👍 The delicious cakes he served were simply unforgettable!! He went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his guests. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for great service, delicious food, and a personal touch!

Fantastic stay

Fantastic stay at Ardwyn. Roger was a lovely host, welcomed us with tea and cake, which was much appreciated after our huge cycle to get there. The bed was like a cloud and the roll top bath was the icing on the cake! We opted for the cooked breakfast in the morning which was generous and delicious too, we will definitely be back.

What a fabulous find.
We booked last minute due to circumstances and so glad we waited.
We arrived earlier than expected but we were welcomed with a cup of tea and homemade lemon drizzle cake . Tea and cake provided each afternoon in our return... delicious.
Room was beautiful, we had the Rennie mackintosh theme room which was stunning, chose this as it had the slipper bath which for me was an absolute treat.
Breakfast amazing and cooked fresh.
Roger and Katiare great hosts , we we definitely return.

Perfect place to stay when exploring mid Wales

Couldn't fault our stay. Everything was amazing from the Arts & Crafts features in a lovely house, our comfortable, quiet and spotlessly clean room. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly and there was a huge choice for the lovely breakfast which we could sit and eat at our leisure looking over fields of sheep.

We were attracted to Ardwyn House after reading the positive reviews. We loved our stay and you wont be dissapointed if you stay, we highly recommend it. Some plus points... clean, fantastic breakfast options, afternoon tea/coffee and delicious cake, brilliant shower, duvet and pillows as comfy as home (I bring a pillow in the car and never used it.) We stayed to drive Elan Valley and it was just the perfect drive away. The town is walkable for food and shop, the train station is also just down the road if needed. Ample parking, we stayed for 3 nights and would stay again in a heartbeat. Lovley place and lovley owners.

The hotel is lovely and the hosts are wonderful. The breakfasts were exceptional - all prepared freshly to order. The hotel is furnished in traditional style and all the fittings are in period style too. The only disadvantage is that a period style bath with hand-held shower, although very nice to look, is not as practical as a modern bath and shower.

We had a great stay in this lovely area. The hotel building is full of character and the owners were so welcoming, we chatted about all sorts of topics over several cups of tea and some cake. Catering to a vegan diet was appreciated and we felt more like we were visiting friends than staying in a typical hotel. The games room was also great fun and nice to have use of to play some pool, before retiring to our comfy bedroom.

A great place to stay!

The hotel is beautiful inside. There is a games room and a sitting room with a real fire. The breakfast room, bedroom and halls have antique furnishings and the hotel is looked after well. It has a relaxed feel and a friendly atmosphere. Service is a priority and everything you might need is there. Thought has been given to the details and the hotel is well maintained. The room is clean and cared for, with great features. It is quiet and close to a few pubs. We went out to get food and decided we might get better food away from the village, but perhaps we could have tried the local places. You might want to go down the road to a restaurant by car, for something a little nicer off-site, we went to The Trout, which was nice enough. Back at the hotel, breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed chatting. We needed a little bit of rest and this is what we got. A great place to stay with a bitta history.

Staying in this hotel felt like visiting dear friends. Absolutely perfect experience. Roger has greeted us with a home made cake in the most beautiful library. Our bathroom was the size of a bedroom. The highest level luxury. Toiletries were Crabtree and Evelyn. Mugs and plates in the room from Emma Bridgewater. The air of a Victorian theme was everywhere. Even the box of tissues was covered with embroidered handkerchief! Basin and a jug in a hallway. Tiffany lamps. William Morris themed interior in a dining room. I felt like in one of Bronte’s novels. Thank you, Roger and Katie a million times!

Stopped off overnight on the way from Chester to visit our family in Llanelli. Convenient to railway station. Lovely room and bed, comfortable arm chairs in room, nice welcome tray and offer of tea and lemon cake on arrival. Perfectly cooked breakfast. Our second visit and hopefully not our last.

Brilliant hosts and welcoming stay

We had a good time at Ardwyn House. We stayed at the village in order to walk so we needed to check in early. Katie, the hostess came to meet us at the station at 12.30pm. Roger, the host gave us some homemade biscuits and tea which was very welcoming.
The house and the room were spacious, beautifully decorated throughout and clean. The bathroom was large and the bed was comfortable.
Cooked breakfast was tasty with fresh local produce and it was nicely cooked.
Despite the wet and windy weather, we enjoyed our stay at Llanwrtyd Wells.

Passing through on the way to the north. Booked a couple of days prior and discovered a 'gem' in a small town one might pass through on a journey that will certainly draw us back again. The decor, comfort, cake and location all made for a happy evening in Llanwrtyd Wells where everyone in the locality seemed to be extremely helpful.

Roger and Katie are very kind and considerate hosts who run a relaxed, homely and yet elegant B&B. The large rooms are furnished in the Edwardian style and the beds are comfy.
We were welcomed with tea and delicious homemade Lemon drizzle cake (Roger has worked as a Commis Chef).
The breakfast room is large, light and airy, with spacious tables and Roger makes a cracking breakfast.

Lovely 2 nights in Ardwyn House

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights last week (we were lucky with heatwave weather). We loved our stay; the room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast range was good and freshly cooked-to-order. Roger and Katie were very welcoming and accommodating hosts. There are also spaces guests can use like the library, living/dining room or sit outside in the garden. Roger also gave us lots of great ideas for walks and things to do in Wales. We shall be back again one day.

Stayed at this B&B one night with our friends, to break our journey home from our holidays. Roger and Katie made us most welcome they greeted us at the door, helped us in with our cases. Showed us around their beautiful home, once we had settled in Katie made us tea and freshly cooked brownies. Rooms big and clean, en suites immaculate. Breakfast superb and plenty of it. There are several pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Thank you Katie and Roger for making us feel at home. We will definitely be back & stay longer next time.
