There was so much to love about this hotel. Great location and helpful staff.

We loved our room fundamentally, leading out to a quiet secluded courtyard that our daughter loved running around in.

That being said, as beautifully as the room itself was, it also smelt very strongly of mould/mildew. Indeed, it was very disappointing. Typically, I think we would have requested a new room but the stay was brief and I think we were so tired and on a time crunch that we just decided to live with it.

Like I say- lots to love but couldn’t not flag that issue.

Great location near the Ponte Vecchio. Wonder property, beautiful courtyard. Arrived Florence early in the morning. The hotel had luggage storage awaiting the 3 o’clock check in. When we arrived to check in our bags were in our room. Staff was extremely helpful getting us a cab on the morning of our departure at 4:35 am.
Would certainly book again if I make it back to Florence.

This place is wonderful. Perfect location close enough to the Ponte Vecchio but far enough from it that the foot traffic feels at arms length. The front desk staff is super warm and the location is beautiful. Make sure to check out the courtyard next to the front desk area and also the stunning roof top bar views. I found this spot to be exactly where I wanted to start and finish my daily walking journeys. Slip into the nearby side streets for some great cafes, restaurants and Osterias.

We reserved one of the last expensive rooms due to size and there’s no other wires to describe it but weird. No elevator, had a security door that is extremely unpredictable and always took several
Times to get it to work with room key. Then the room. Very large but such a waste of space! The room was probably 500sft with about 5’ of bathroom. No way that 2 people could fit in there simultaneously. F/B options also inconvenient to get to, especially from our room and very cramped. On the plus side it is a great location and the staff are friendly.

Our experience was consistent with previous reviews. Location is ideal. Easy entrance into main attraction area and with rooms off an interior courtyard property is super quiet at night.
Rooftop terrace is ideal. Relaxing, great cocktails and a perfect way to end a day sightseeing in the crowds of Florence.
We didn't realize the restaurant is not open for dinner. Breakfast was crowded, food ok.
Overall a nice property.

Great location and great staff. The rooms and property felt clean, had great views on the terrace. While it wasn’t a big issue for us since it wasn’t extremely hot outside, there is no cooling only heating available in the rooms which confused me since “AC” was listed. The staff provided us a plug in fan and we opened the terrace windows and it kept it cool enough but I probably wouldn’t be comfortable in the warmer months.

There were no Vineyard views but it is in a decent location in Florence. The \"Garden Suite\" is a joke. It overlooks a courtyard that was covered in green moss and had a hose strewed about. It was not usable. So there was no view of anything. We opened the window overlooking it at night to get some air and I assume this is why we woke up with lots of bites! We never saw a mosquito though. They told us the AC didn't work. The hotel's elevator is a 1 person elevator that was too scary to use really. Our room was on the seventh floor. The staff did help with bringing the luggage up but if you don't like to climb MANY stairs, this is not the place for you. We tried to upgrade to a third person and this caused quite the comotion and really I feel they charged us in excess by making us upgrade to a suite and then charged more per person. They blamed a communication error but that was really not it! One desk person tried to make it right and was very nice but really in the end fell short. The suite was spacious and nice but the glass shelf in it had not been dusted in quite some time. It had a soaking tub, steam room and sauna, although the sauna and steam room did not work. The rooftop bar has a nice view but it is a workout to get up there! It's also where they serve breakfast and where the workout room is. I would not recommend this hotel.

Fantastic location for everything whilst not being in the middle of it all. The staff were all lovely and everything super clean. Only issue was the aircon didn't work and we couldn’t open the windows due to mosquitoes (discovered this after the first night with it open - didn’t make that mistake again!). It’s quite an unusual interior with a tiny lift and lots of stairs so just be aware of that - it didn’t bother us though, we loved the charm.

The room could have been cleaner as there were pieces of old chips from previous guests in the cupboard where the mini fridge is located. More than anything though the noise was too much. Rm549 there was always people coming and going, doors slamming/banging. There also seemed to have been some construction going on. The location was a good one.

The first room we were given was quite depressing, so we moved to a more expensive suite, which was beautiful. The hotel is very clean, staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast is unusually good, with a wide variety of foods. The location is terrific - across the Arno from the biggest crowds but conveniently located.

Perfect Location

The Hotel La Scaletta is the ideal base for a visit to Florence. Only 2 minutes to the Ponte Vecchio in one direction and two minutes to the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens in the other. All the main attractions such as the Uffizi Gallery, Duomo and Baptistry are just a few walk minutes away.

Florence is crazy busy but once you step in through the ancient archway to the hotel reception it is an oasis of calm. For our first few night we had a Garden Double Room set in a quiet courtyard and lovely garden. It was so peaceful and yet the hustle and bustle of the Ponte Vecchio was only a few metres away. We returned a few days later after a wedding and found we had been upgraded to a Superior Room on one of the upper floors. The room was delightful with a huge bed and lovely bathroom.

Breakfast was good. Buffet-style with the option to eat on the rooftop terrace with amazing panoramic views of Florence.

Florence is a really walkable city and there are loads of places to eat, grab a panini or a gelato within a few steps of the hotel. Taxis from Santa Maria Novella Station are plentiful but ranged in price from15 to 30 euros.

**Word of warning!** If you use the tram to travel into the city from Florence Airport be on your guard for pickpockets! They target people stressing with suitcases getting onto the trams. They nearly got my husband's wallet!

We loved our stay at the Hotel La Scaletta and highly recommend for perfect Florence holiday.

Very good location and easy to get to. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Roof top is great for sunset. Could use a bit more storage like cabinets and the bathroom was very tight (although shower was huge and jetted tub was perfect size). Also we can hear footsteps above us but those are just small things and definitely not a deal breaker. Tall ceilings, and had a mix of modern and vintage feel. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Would definitely come back again. Thank you.

The biggest problem was the customer service, which was mediocre at best. Even though the hotel room was very nice, I would not recommend this place as I found the staff to be rude and dismissive.

The luxury room we booked was nice but you have to walk up stairs no elevator for that type of room so I had to switch rooms outside same floor. Wasn’t a fan of that. And had a really bad ant problem where everyday I come back to my room in Florence they sprayed bug spray and it lingered all day and night everyday for 5 days. Room was big for the family. But I wound not come back here.

Average experience for a great location

The hotel is in a great location. They charged us a cash only 7 euro per person per night tourist fee. When we went to our 2nd hotel we were told the tourist fee is only 6 euro per person per night and is payable by cash or charge. The room had an \"odd odor\" almost like cat urine and while the ground floor was nice due to the stairs and the heat, the cleaning staff did not seem to care about guests who were staying close to their cleaning closet as they were slamming doors and supplies around at 0700. The room was extremely comfortable and the washrooms were well kept. Overall an average experience for a great location.

Although the lobby is gorgeous, it’s very confusing trying to find your room. There are staircases with very little instruction as to which way to go. The air conditioning in our room did not work the first night and it had been in the 90s during the day. It took them until 5 o’clock to fix the air conditioning the next day. Unfortunately, the other member of my party had been sick in bed all day sweltering.
The location is fabulous. Breakfast was decent.

This is a beautiful small-ish hotel just below the Ponte Vecchio. Our room was very comfortable, with everything we could need for our extended stay. (Caveat for those with mobility issues: there are lots of stone steps inside and the elevator seems to stop only between floors, so stairs are inevitable.) From the hotel entrance, it is easy to walk to all the main tourist sites or enjoy a quiet stroll around the Oltrano. Try the gellateria on the hotel's first floor - exceptional!

An excellent place to stay. Within walking distance of the sights. The hotel itself is a converted palace and actually adjoins the Vasari Cirridorband is a hop step and jump away from
Ponte Vecchio and Pitti Palce.
The Duomo Uffeuci and Cechio palaces are a walk away!
Its own restraint offers unrivalled views of the Florentine skyline. The resturaunts in the vicinity are outstanding in quality and value for money.

This is a good, if quirky hotel, but we enjoyed our stay here. We were in a garden facing (Superior) room, and the revelation of this location for us was that it was so quiet. Florence is a very busy city, and can feel a bit overwhelming, but once into the hotel, all the noise and hubbub of the city disappears and all you hear is the bird song.
The room was clear and comfortable and we slept like logs.
Breakfast was good. There is a restaurant for dinner which we didn’t use, but the roof top terrace and bar is terrific. Really lovely spot.
Locally, Ponte Vecchio is a couple of minutes walk and the city is all very walkable from here. Also, lots of restaurants locally (we particularly like ‘Il Pacchero’ which did superb pizza’s!
