A huge disappointment

The pictures do not depict the actual hotel. The pictures look much nicer. We made reservations many months prior for two rooms with king beds, their description. My sister's room was great with a wonderful queen or king size comfortable bed and a bathroom that was huge. Our room on the other hand had a double size bed that rolled into the center and a bathroom that you could hardly navigate in. It was so small my husband couldn't even shower in there.

We were also severely disappointed in the fact that the restaurant and bar were closed down and had been for two months. You would think they would at least have the common courtesy to let guests know that in advance.

Breakfast was good but 15 euros per person.

We stayed here for one night. It is a small hotel but it’s lovely. Very central with great staff who were very helpful. We left our luggage whilst we explored like lots of other people! The breakfast was very good with lots of choices. The bed was very comfortable, the room cool and quiet. Thoroughly recommend it. Taxis too and from airport were very expensive, I think we were ripped off! Catch bus instead if you can!

Unfortunately the hotel does not look like on their website. The restaurant was not open, the rooms look old and used. I think the website shows, how they want it to look like after the renovation.
The first room I was shown smelt very bad and as I tried to open the window it felt like I broke it. The second room was tiny and the third room was just unter the roof with no space for a suitcase and not really space to stand upright. Only the bathroom was good.

Such a cute property! The room was large and the AC cold, two things we really appreciate. We paid for the tiny lot parking instead of searching the street. The hotel manager helped us park. Then walked everywhere. Convenient to the Coliseum and the Forum.

Charming hotel in the heart of Pula. Excellent service by the hotel staying up late for our late night arrival and arranging a taxi to pick us up at the airport. Relieved much travel stress. Breakfast was great with many fresh options and again hotel staff very helpful and accommodating allowing us to store our luggage while we walked the city.

Not a 3 star hotel at all, 2 star is more appropriate. Only stayed for one night. Unfortunately property is tired and dated, and in need of some maintenance. Staff ok, but not particularly helpful or friendly. Breakfast is not good at all, and we struggled to find anything that we wanted to eat. No hot food cooked to order, no fresh fruit or quality products.

The property was clean but we arrived quite late and were very tired. I had confirmed that there would be three beds the night before but when we received our room there were only two beds. They fixed the problem and were apologetic. The room was comfortable however the fan in the bathroom could not be turned off and was very loud. Breakfast in the morning was great! Elevator is very small so difficult if you have a lot of people with a lot of luggage but it worked for us for one night. Location is great!

Had to turn water off every couple of minutes while showering or it would overflow out of the shower basin. Pretty gross and quite inconvenient. Would not recommend.

The plus point for this hotel was the location. It is in walkable distance to many of the sights and has shopping and restaurants nearby. We booked this hotel because it stated that it had an elevator and one member in our group cannot climb stairs, so this was a priority. When we checked in, they gave us a room on the 2nd floor and stated that there was no elevator on this side of the hotel. Getting them to change the room to the main floor was a hassle and the girl at the front desk definitely gave us attitude and said we should have stated that we needed an elevator in our booking. When we inquired about where to park the car, she said she could show me in \"10 minutes\", while my husband was driving around the one way streets of the city as there is no place to park by the hotel. We definitely did not get a warm welcome nor did we feel like they wanted us there. The room was ok, however our shower did not work, the bedding and pillows were very thin, and there is no coffee/tea set up in the room. I would not stay there again despite the good location.

Good location with elevator right above a popular restaurant and less than 10 minute walk to the city center and arena area. We had a rental car and it was easy to park in a gated garage half a block away. The only complaint was the room was very small, barely enough for two suitcases. The staff was friendly and nice.

There are so many things we loved about this hotel.

Pros:
- Location was excellent
- Superb price for the location
- Located within 8-10 minute walk of Arena, Forum, and with bus routes nearby to beautiful beaches in Stoja and Verudela
- Reception staff were unbelievably helpful
- Hotel was very clean
- The restaurant (Epulon) across the street, which is part of the hotel, was fantastic and very reasonably priced
- Air conditioning in the rooms was a life saver!
- Comfortable beds
- Tidy, well decorated rooms

Cons:
- It is only a small hotel and you have to carry your luggage up some stairs. This wasn't an issue for us, but older guests may need help.

Honestly, I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel and think that the staff made it a really pleasant stay. I would happily stay here again if I return to Pula!

Great location in Pula for walking wherever you need to.
Staff, Iliana??? Was the best!!!! She was super friendly at the desk and at breakfast talked to us quite a bit about places to see in Pula and other cities. Also talked about growing up on Croatia etc, wry wonderful staff member for sure.
Rooms were perfect and off season were warm enough and quiet. Breakfast was great also as we love European breakfast when we travel.
Would for sure stay again and recommend it.

This hotel is barely 2 stars, maybe even 1. One.

Cons:
-rooms are not very clean (trash behind tv etc)
-several towels were old and ripped
-parking situation was ridiculous
(we had it reserved and got the space when we arrived; however one day we used the car and there was no space when we came back, at which point we were told it’s not their fault because one car parked across two spaces?! that’s what they are there for to regulate who parks where and to make sure reservations are respected. even if it was free it would not be acceptable)
-very noisy, no isolation at all
-hassle to get a second room key
-dirty rugs everywhere
-front desk often unattended
-restaurant staff doesn’t know what they have on their menu
-restaurant didn’t know how to make a simple cocktail
-we had three rooms and one was ok; the other two were barely fine (one didn’t even have a phone so couldn’t call reception)
-and so on…

Pros:
-girls at front desk were friendly
-central location

All in all this hotel deserves barely two stars, and is definitely overpriced. We stay at hotels constantly and this is one of the worst price-quality ratios. It should be max around $60 per day.
We paid over $150 per room which was absolutely ridiculous for what we got - and that’s not even including breakfast or parking!

only positive thing is the location we reserved 6 room in this hotel because they have a lift once there we realised that they have 2 diffrent locations one in front the other one with lift the second without the reception is on the first floor of the part that have no lift and so the breakfast place.
we stayed 1 night and when having breakfast they told us that we have to pay our stay they called expedia who told us we have to pay cause the sum was not reducted from our account but its written on our reservation that the sum is collected by the hotel we couldn't understand why they didn't tell us at check in time and why expedia accept to deal with such an hotel we reserved in the same trip in 7 different hotels and only this hotel was the problem I do not recommend this place and suggest that expedia be more clear with his clients and more transparent

Lovely looking hotel. On the website it showed a plunge pool and also hairdressing amenities. The hairdressers was down the road and closed. The plunge pool had been taken away. Not sure where it was previously. Our room had a cupboard door hanging off and the pedal bin's lid was broken as was one of the blinds on the window. The shower was hot then cold.We mentioned it the first day we arrived and again nearly every day until we left 4 days later. But it was still not sorted. Fried and scrambled eggs on the hotplate were cold every morning as they hadn't turned the hot plate on. I was told that it was broken. The bell on reception came away in your hand as it was broken.
It was a shame as the staff were lovely and helpful and the hotel was beautifully decorated.

A friend and I stay one night in a family room, very spacious room. We had two separate double beds in separate rooms and one bathroom. The ceiling was angled like you find in a top story dormer cape cod house. Not sure if this is a problem for some. A little terrace looking out into town. Like I said we only stay one night. Staff was very nice and helped us with taxi service and recommendations.

Superb location near the centre for the shops, Roman amphitheatre etc. We were booked into the family room and the room was ready early for us prior to the 3pm check in. Spacious and very clean. Small and comfy hotel - 5 mins from the main sites

We stayed in one of the two superior rooms on the top floor.

The first thing to mention is that there is no lift and taking large bags up to the top floor is awkward as the stairs are very narrow. This will not therefore be suitable for everyone.

However, we loved the room. It had its own roof terrace and a very large en-suite bathroom with a double size bath. (Double width).

The room also had air conditioning. It maybe worth checking this at booking time as I understand from other comments that not all the rooms have this.

The hotel has a restaurant associated with it (over the road). This does very nice Italian food which was very welcome on arrival.

I would love to go back to Pula and would almost certainly look to stay in the same place again.

Nice small hotel but it doesn't get it together

I feel bad writing a negative review because most staff really tried to correct things. But I encountered multiple problems during my stay. First, I couldn't find anyone around to direct me to reception. Then when I found it on my own, there was no one around. The air conditioning failed in my room on the first of the two nights.

The next morning, a very friendly person at reception told me that it would be fixed or she would move me to another room. And, it did work for a while. Then it failed again. I was told that it was o.k. IT WAS NOT. It was blowing lukewarm air. After making several inquiries, it was insinuated that I was the problem. Finally, when I demanded another room, the frustrated girl at the front desk sought help from someone in the kitchen. HE FIXED IT. But this played out over several aggregating hours.

Then, they could not check me out the next morning since they were having WiFi problems and the credit card device wouldn't connect. There were several guys trying to fix the problem, but the lobby was bedlam.

Again, the people tried -- except for the guy who was convinced that I was the problem with the AC.

Perhaps might try the place again because it is ideally situated for touring the historical sights. But based on this particular experience, I could not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This place was easy to find with their big sign and it was within walking distance of everything you wanted to do in Pula. The staff were extremely helpful especially the girl Alexandra...she really went out of her way to help and was so nice to us. She served us dinner as well at the the adjoining restaurant which was great as well. They have a lovely little patio above to have a drink at night or whatever. Breakfast was very good too.

I went there with the idea of possibly staying there for the whole week, but was a little disappointed. For one, I had to carry my suitcase up six flights of stairs. Then, the lights in the stairs didn't really work. The Internet was a bit sketchy. And there were no curtains. So, it was alright, but I couldn't see myself staying there for a week.

Reserved a king bed with balcony at Galija and got brought over to Hotel Omir around the corner. The entrance smelled like smoke, the AC in the room was so loud we couldn't sleep but when turned off we could hear people screaming outside our TINY window. The pillows were more like square cushions with no \"plump\" left in them. I was furious that I didn't get the room I reserved and told her that it was a King and could charge for the person that came with me but we didn't get it and she said they had no rooms with balcony so I'm not sure if the error was hotels.com or that she lied. Breakfast was good though and the lady serving us was very nice. The guy at the front desk couldn't be bothered. He never smiled and was very negative about anything we asked. He really looked like he hated his job and certainly is not a people person. So that was Hotel Omir and not sure how linked they are to Galija but I intend to never find out in person again.

Super Convenient; Helpful friendly staff

I expect to stay here again the next time I visit Pula - the staff was wonderfully helpful; and very convenient - even on a twisted ankle, I could manage to see all the sights; not a modern high-end hotel, but friendly and clean. You do have to do stairs - no lifts yet, although they are saying they will be adding them. Nice breakfast, and good food at dinner.

The manager saw us pull up and directed us to the parking facility. The rooms were average size but clean. The staff was very attentive and courteous. Literally two blocks from the city centre pedestrian zone and just down the hill from the amphitheatre. I would stay there again.

We made the mistake of trying to walk to the location from the bus terminal... don't. But it is well located to most of the sites you'll want to visit. The staff (and I mean the one girl who appeared to work there) was very helpful, friendly, and spoke excellent English. The room itself was clean and nice enough, nothing special. The towel I had been given was actually stained, which was concerning, but that was really the only issue we had at all.

If your looking for a room that is it , it's clean , safe , and in a good location , towels old , breakfast was \" ok\" it's was food ,the food in the Resturant was salty & over price compared to anywhere else
Very hard to find ,,but the staff was great & they help me find a spot for my car

Close to the sites, parking a little tough

Easy walking distance to sites. Parking was a little tough. We arrived via GPS but there was no where to park. We had to park in a garage which the folks did not charge us when we left 30 minutes later to use the parking the hotel does provide. A little tough getting into because of 2 concrete columns. One of us had the guide the drive through to park succesfully.

Close to Pula Arena and Old Town

Excellent hotel within minutes walk to Arena and the Old Town. Very nice breakfast buffet. Free wireless internet. Air con was welcomed as the weather was very hot. Very convenienly located for the bus to the beaches (which takes about 15 to 20 minutes). A local market is about 1 minute walk away and there is a convenience store just on the corner past the hotel. Overall, a very nice and well maintained hotel.

Very poor breakfast choices, empty fruit etc with 40 mins of breakfast still to go. Bad taste decor throughout interior. Surly staff in hotel area however across the road restaurant was much more attractive and staff nicer. Hotel is on both sides of the road.

Comfortable hotel in centre of Pula

I loved the hotel room and location of Hotel Galija. It wasn't very big but was well equipped for a three star hotel which included a bar fridge and thankfully airconditioning. It was a bit hard to navigate through the narrow roads of Pula if arriving by car as most of the roads are one way streets so it was a bit confusing trying to find a road to turn off as per the directions given. Other than that, would definitely recommend this hotel.
