Unfortunately, I thought the room looked rather tired and I found the bed quite uncomfortable, with hard ridges across the mattress all the way down.
The bathroom in our room was OK but quite small. There were no shelves or anywhere to put toiletries or cosmetics.

This is a lovely place to stay.
It was all excellent particularly the breakfasts and I liked having a fridge. One star lost for Eco -friendly because no container for recycling, tiny plastic containers for shampoo and my hand towel was unnecessarily replaced (although i appreciate the good intentions). I had a lovely room with antique-type decorations.

Our room was lovely. Big beautiful bed, ensuite bathroom with a separate shower. Fresh milk in the little 1/2 pint bottles. Very warm room. And even though you are on the main road threw the village it was very quiet. Pub next door and a fish and chip shop 150 yards away.

It’s like staying in an Antique shop.
We were greeted by Audrey when we arrived around 6:40pm. We were in room 1 and it was like stepping back in time with antique furniture around the room, we were given a menu sheet and asked to fill in what we required for breakfast and asked what time we would like to eat. Breakfast was served in a room that can only be described as stunning. Breakfast was delicious and Audrey entertained us with stories of her life as a musician. Unfortunately Audrey is suffering with ill health at the moment but nothing was stopping her from continuing to look after her guests. A gem of a place and a gem of a lady.

We were met by the owner Audrey who is a lady of great character with an interesting history. She has a home which is bedecked with vintage memorabilia & breakfast was serenaded by the likes of Glenn Miller. We had a room with king sized bed which was very comfortable & the en-suite clean & well equipped with large jacuzzi bath as well as a free standing shower cubicle. Breakfast was satisfying with a good choice of food.

Comfortable accomodation, in a grade 2 listed building. The row of cottages of which this is part date back several hundred years. Sympathetically furnished but the bathroom was clean and modern. Fridge in the bedroom with fresh milk for tea and coffee, great to keep the wine cool. Lovely breakfast including the black pudding I was hoping for. Had to say what time and order the breakfast the night before but it meant it was served very quickly and piping hot. And there's a real ale pub serving food next door. What more could you want?

We forgot to fill out the breakfast menu but were reminded by a late tap on our door from the host, with an apology for disturbing us, but we were the ones apologising as can only imagine how much organising that goes into running the B & B so smoothly and totally on her own at the moment!! The breakfast was gorgeous, with the tables beautifully laid, lovely fresh fruit salad and the 'best ever' cooked breakfast according to my partner and we stay over at a lot of places!! Have already decided to rebook for September for a few nights this time as it is also in a nice location, close to many 'must visit' villages and places of interest. Such a lovely place, sadly arrived late to appreciate its immediate surroundings, the church looked like a must visit at another time because of its octagonal tower. Disturbed by the electricity turning off at midnight, no one appeared to know why BUT it was swiftlt rectified and power was restored. So very well done with your swift response.
Nearby Wells Next The Sea is a grand and unspoilt coastal town with the ubiquitous cafes and restaurants. Overall a definite return to this place hopefully in less of a hurry.

We really enjoyed our stay at Melody House B&B. It is located in a small delightful village, and is appropriately charming and quaint. Lovely breakfast with friendly service, comfortable bed and thoughtfully-provisioned room. Melody House has its name from the musician-proprietor - a lady trumpeter - and there are lovely pictures and memorabilia from the past, including when Melody House itself was a shop. It really feels like a loved home! There was a moving WW1 display in the front window when we came (around Remembrance Sunday). Just a tiny word of warning.... as this is a small, family-run B&B, there isn't necessarily someone immediately on hand when you arrive. We had to ring the doorbell quite a while before someone answered.... we were beginning to get a bit worried that we weren't expected! The bell WAS answered of course - the delay was just an unfortunate combination of circumstances - and we were welcomed warmly. It may help if you can let them know roughly when you expect to arrive.

The choice on the breakfast menu was amazing, beautifully cooked and presented. Nice touch in the room was a fridge & real milk. Also our host makes biscuits & fudge which was on the tea tray, replenished every day. Also on the tray were wine glasses & a cork screw. Toiletries also were available.

Last minute booking for just one night. Delightful quirky house and sumptuous bedroom with enormous bed and lovely crisp linen. Breakfast of our choice was cooked to order was perfect with a pot of freshly brewed strong coffee to set us up perfectly for the day. Will definitely return but for a longer stay. The pub next door served excellent food which meant there was no need to drive into town.
