This was my fourth visit at Hill View. I love coming here because of the internet. However, this trip was a huge disappointment: the internet was way below average and the TV did not work well. The staff was very helpful.

The rooms are very large best features . the night clerk Samuel was the only reason for we didn’t consider leaving and the other 2 male staff are exceptional . the day female staff are lazy , beds weren’t made no toilet paper in rooms unless asked

Quiet Hotel in peaceful area

Took us 20 minutes to gain entry to the hotel on arrival at 11.15pm as staff were asleep. Reception guy had no idea of our booking as was unable to reboot his computer. He eventually rang his manager and we were assigned a room some 50 minutes after arriving.
Breakfast is continental but only consisted of omelette and toast, pancakes not available oh and fruit on the odd occasion which becomes tiresome after 1 week.
There is one sunbed around the pool which is old and no umbrellas.
Only had 1 meal in the 2 weeks which was delicious but order way before your ready to eat.
Room was spacious, had to ask for toilet roll a couple of times and a towel.
Lovely quiet area with nice views down to Accra.
Noone on reception to check out with or to help with cases and open the gate.
Staff quietly pleasant but only talked if spoken to,
Customer service not quite there but hotel is perfect for those staying for a couple of nights in peaceful surroundings.

Decent stay. Breakfast could be better. Tv didn’t work in room. No other alternative was given. Lavatory water had brown tint. Hotel security needs to improve..they allowed an uninvited guest to linger around the property until I came out my room. I made it clear I wasn’t expecting a guest, but the lady insisted I come downstairs to acknowledge the individual. I did not like that one but. Other than that it wasn’t terrible.

Great customer service from the staff. The property has a lot of work to do when it comes to the facilities and amenities. The water pressure was terrible, barely any water coming out, then eventually it stopped for a whole day. There was no water. Old rooms with barely any renovations.

The room was very cozy and the view was amazing. You’d have to buy your own toothbrush and toothpaste. The breakfast was okay...I’ve had better in other hotels. Overall it was okay. It would be nice if they could come clean the room every other morning if you were spending more than a night. The most annoying thing is the network there. It’s bad. It’s not their fault but I think it’ll help you if you know what you’re going to meet. Thank you.

I would not reccommend for Americans if they dont get new beds, update and do repairs. Keep restaurant and bar open later. Manager and help were noce and helpful. Just didnt work for us!

The hotel was clean and my room was clean. The amenities listed by the hotel were not as described. For example they did not provide free bottle water, free toiletries, no hair dryer in the room, no iron/ironing board in the room or free, no in-room safe, the shower had cold and cool water only...no warm or hot water. There was no airport shuttle and was told my staff to hire a taxi. There is no elevator and my room was on the second floor of the hotel. My room was not cleaned daily until I said something to the owner about it. The daily rate was reasonable, the staff were friendly and did speak English.

Issues were addressed ASAP
Room was spacious and I loved the hillside scenery

Cons
The staff rarely spoke except you engaged them which I felt was strange.
The gym was very poor and needs an overhaul
The pool was not accessible which I wasn't happy with
Ants observed in the bathroom though they were not an issue

value for money

this hotel is standard but you won't regret staying they give you more value for your money. the staff from the Manager all the way down are polite to a fault. Kingsley , Elise,Esther,Issa and Mr Arthur plus the chamber maid set of great people that will go out of their way to help you. location nice and quite. the traffic is huge though so you might have to leave like 2 hours ahead going to the airport. there were minor issues too nothing major, i wasn't picked at the airport even though i made all the necessary arrangement and there were bugs in the pool so i didn't use it again after my first time but everything else compensated hugely for these two nice hotel great stuff good location value for me. will definitely go back

Very good.

I had a very pleasant stay at hill view hotel.
Right from when my taxi pulled into the hotel, through the reception and finally into my room, I couldn’t have asked for a better service. The room was quite spacious and comfortable too. The young lady at the reception desk was also so attentive and helpful and was such a pleasure to deal with. The hill view from my room over the city of Accra at night times was an added bonus.
I would definitely go back to this hotel.

The most amazing service you'll find in Accra

I was a bit hesitant about booking Hill View due to its location (it's about 20 km from the centre of Accra). However, I am very happy I did. The hotel is located in a very quiet residential area of Accra, overlooking parts of the city. It is definitely worth it to opt for a city view upgrade. The best part about this place is the staff. They are quite possibly the sweetest, most professional and attentive people I have met in Ghana (which is a lot to say because Ghanaians are very lovely people). They went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed, including offering to send taxis into town to pick up things I might need for my stay. On my first day there I slept in past breakfast, but they insisted that they make breakfast for me. I never had to ask for anything - they were always once step ahead of me in offering me help or services that would make my trip better. And they were constantly checking in to make me sure I was comfortable and enjoying my stay. Getting a taxi was very simple. They have people they call who can be there quickly and will negotiate the price for you. Many thanks to Yolanda, Elsie, and the other team members for being so good to me!
The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable. The gym is in good condition, everything works fine. The pool is a nice for hot days. The infrastructure overall is definitely indicative a 3.5 star hotel by North American standards, but it is so clean and well cared for that it feels far more luxurious.

- Dirty Pool with sand on the ground and foam on the surface.
- Mosquitos in the room, very big ones. Dead Mosquitos under the curtains.
- Fridge door didnt close well.
- Breakfast was OK, but dinner was expensive and not good.
- We got served dirty cups for breakfast. Yellow hard substance and dust.
- The day we left, there was lightout and the hotel staff did not put the generator on, maybe because we were the only guests. While we waited for taxi, they DID put the generator on. Maybe for themselves.

For a price like this, you have to expect more from a hotel!

Great hotel located in a peaceful and calm environ

I visited this hotel in December 2016 with my husband and I must say we got more than we expected in a positive way.There was a slight problem with the room we booked but after spending a night, the management resolved it professionally and changed our room to better one without charging us.They showed that it wasn't all about the money but good customer service and hospitality.The staffs were charming and very helpful.Always there to attend to every detail and request we made.We actually became a family not just a guest.Is it Mr Aurthur, he became our father, always checking up on us and attending to our needs, I can't forget our friend and sister Elsie, she was our daily guide helping us with transportation and telling us what to look out for and where and where not to go.How can we forget the CEO and his wife, Madam was personally there to ensure we were comfortable and giving us information about Accra and the happening places to visit.Inshort the entire staff made our stay great. The ambience of both the poolside and the city view from the room windows were breathtaking. Hillview was a hotel that became a home for us and surely I will be coming back there and recommending friends and family too.
