It was a great location with so many dining, shopping options around. Also, it felt very sage at all hours.
The sauna area didn't seem usable or welcoming, and the gym was lack-luster, but I made the few weights work for me.
Breakfast was lite and slow to restock after it got very busy. Overall, the service and convenience won me over, all is was just extra if it worked out.
I liked my stay.

The photos on Expedia are totally misleading. Whilst the location is great, and the reception area is cool and groovy, the room we had was more like a one star cheap hotel by a train station!

It was so bad that we left immediately in the morning! Very uncomfortable mattress (hard and you could feel the springs) and the room was unclean, and literally was in dire need of repair! It looked NOTHING like the room on my reservation confirmation!

The management did not respond after 24 hours with our concerns. I emailed them immediately with photos. The receptionist did offer to change our room but I didn’t believe it would be any better.

NO on-site parking here, despite the listing!

On the Hotel.com website for this hotel it lists \"on-site self parking, for EUR 22.00 per day\". This was one of the main reasons I picked to stay at this hotel. Well no such thing existed. There is NO on-site parking at all!. Instead I had to try to find local parking lots, getting an address from the hotel receptionist. The nearest one, was fairly close but with the many one-way streets and traffic lights, it was over 20 minutes' drive away. And once I got there to the address given, there was no lot. I was lucky enough to find a street spot, which was about a 10-minute walk (as there is legal street parking on Paris streets on Saturday nights and Sundays - unless otherwise posted). The hotel itself was pleasant. The rooms were quiet, but small, but most of the European hotel rooms seem small compared to American ones. The elevator was small too, but it did the job. Lastly, do not expect to get too much out of the televisions in this hotel unless you speak French, as all of the English-speaking channels were blocked.

Very small room even smaller bathroom next to a noisy elevator whom broke down on a Sunday was at the 6 floor
But stuff happened the staff was nice but never proposed to take down your suitcase from the 6 floor on your departure day nicely they put the elevator on for me but I saw a lot of guests not offered the same things
Great location the oldest part of Paris that explains the size of the room they need a little repair maintenance detail detail details

Overall I will not pic this hotel from my next time in Paris ho I forgot twice with my non disturb signe on the door house keeping walk on me maybe the signe is not big enough

Had a terrific stay at Hotel Jacques de Molay. Room was very clean and charming with windows that opened out onto the street (which I left open during most of my October stay). The location was safe and right in the middle of everything. They had a nice breakfast, gym, and sauna as well. Only complaint was I had to return my key each time I left to the clerk, which was a minor nuisance but I assume there is some logic to it. The room cost was very reasonable as well. Overall, highly recommended!

Popper customer service by some of the staff. Rooms had a smell coming from the drains and the air on u it’s made loud banging noises. When I asked to be moved to another room I was told that it’s possible that all of the rooms aircon units could have the same problem. I ordered champagne for when I checked in and it was not provided either.

Loved the staff at this hotel. I felt safe traveling as a solo female traveler. Someone was always at the front to greet you at the desk 24/7 and you leave/pick up your room key with them. The room and gym is a bit small but it’s what I expected from Paris. The location is walkable to the metro and dining options. Overall, I would stay here again.

Fabulous quiet location on a side street in Le Marais. Spent about 10 days total here in 2 different rooms. The rooms are small by USA standards but this is Paris. Well appointed, well lit, and comfortable. The elevator was convenient, the common areas pleasant. The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. We attended a wedding out of town and they let us leave bags overnight which was very helpful. Excellent restaurants, museums, nightlife in the area. We will be back!

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights and could not have liked it more. The hotel is sweet, cozy, modern, clean and the staff are incredibly welcoming, helpful and kind.

Our room had a lovely view of the Marais rooftops. It was very comfortable and quiet.

Emanuel at the front desk was a fountain of amazing & helpful information about Paris, the neighbourhood, restaurant recommendations and so much more. He was just a delight!

The neighbourhood, Le Marais, is beautiful and filled with fabulous shops, cafes, brasseries & bistros. The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of it all. It’s an easy walk to pretty much anywhere, there are Metro stops close by too.

When we come back to Paris we will definitely want to stay here again!

Very nice boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly. The room was small like in most hotels in Paris, but very comfortable. The AC worked great, the room was very quiet. There’s also a gym and a sauna available. The location was perfect, with local stores and cafes right downstairs. Close to the Mairie du 3ième and the Marché des Enfants Rouges with great choices for food.

The Hotel was lovely. The staff was always helpful and very polite - someone was alway there at the front desk every time I walked by! The room was clean and everything was in working order. I also really appreciated the elevator, being on the 5th floor and having a large suitcase. I think maybe some things could be updated in the near future but I wasn’t expecting a 5 star hotel, so it was perfect for what I needed. It always felt safe in the neighborhood and there is plenty of shopping and dining very close by. It’s extremely walkable but there are a number of trains within a 5-10 min walk as well. I would absolutely stay here again!

Nice hotel at a great area of Paris. Restaurants just meters away, close to metro and walking distance from Hotel de Ville. Heating system didn’t really work - too hot or too cold, there was a hot water outage on one morning so couldn’t shower, not sure if it was the building or oustide - staff apologised, but didn’t offer any assistance etc. We had booked two connecting rooms as travelling with teenage sons - both rooms had just a queensize bed, so wasn’t too comfortable for the boys. The parking the hotel recommeded (Temple) had space but don’t go with a big car - will be super tight.

Nice, clean rooms with updated interiors and bathrooms. Typically small for Paris so don't arrive with expectations of large rooms - you're in one of the oldest cities in the world! Room 602 has two private (tiny) balconies with views of the city's rooftops (one in the bathroom and one in the main room), and a view of the Eifel Tower; a large soaking tub and lots of natural light. Room 601 has a relatively large bathroom, lots of natural light, big standup, tiled shower and a double vanity. This room has a private (tiny) balcony in the bathroom and separate private balcony in the main room. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows are super soft down or down alternative. The a/c works great. There is a tea kettle in the rooms with a small selection of teas. Room 601 and 602 have mini fridges that are not very cold, but cold enough. These rooms also have a small coat closet with shelves and a safe, plus a small desk. There is a small elevator in the hotel that will fit two people and two luggage at the most (maybe a toddler, too). We recommend getting the included breakfast; it's a very large selection of quality meats, cheeses, eggs, sausages, fresh baked croissants and pastries, juices, coffee and espresso. The staff is friendly and they speak some English, but show some respect by starting the conversation with some very basic French. We suggest, \"J'apprends le français. Parlez vous anglais?\"

Fine for a quick stay - where you want to be

Stayed for a quick overnight layover. Easy check in and one of the few small Paris hotels with an elevator. Room is small as described but not terrible. No free scooters despite their description. Biggest issue was that the walls/door frames have some obvious damage and the door frame was about 2 inches off the ground, letting in a blinding hallway light. The location is great!

My overall impression was positive. The staff was very generous, service oriented, and attentive.
The room was clean but, extremely small! The shower was to short for me so I had to bend my knees to get wet properly. Unfortunately, the regular coffee sleeves were not renewed every day which was unfortunate, as well as the lack of amenities. I must point out that the fitness room is small but nicely equipped, and the location of the hotel is excellent

I loved the charm of the building and the rooms. The room was clean. The only issue I noticed was some of the items in the bathroom were in poor condition. The moveable mirror was loose. Also, it seems Paris has hard water which has led up to buildup on the shower heads. I had to use a pin to open up some of the shower head holes to get a sufficient supply of water to come out.

My second day here, I contacted the front desk to say it was very hot in the room and asked how to use the thermostat. They told me it had been switched off for the Fall season and had been switched to heat only. I told them it was 65 (20 Celsius) outside and I didn't understand why the heat would be on. They asked me \"Have you tried opening the window?\" I was already pretty surprised by this response, but I tried it. The next day I woke up with multiple mosquito bites and bugs in my room. Hotels.com then sent me a survey and I informed them of my displeasure with the heat in the room and the fact that the front desk offered no solution. Later in the day I guess Hotels.com sent my comments to the hotel so the staff acted all offended and told me they would procure a fan for my room. What is most baffling about the whole thing is, they couldn't provide a solution when I simply said I was very hot and uncomfortable. But when they feared a bad review being posted on the internet, suddenly they have the idea to get me a fan?? Obviously I appreciated having the fan for the second half of my stay, but this is the most passive thing they could have done. On another note, one of the guys doing the night shift kept falling asleep on the job, because I found myself waiting outside and ringing the doorbell for 20 minutes two consecutive nights (they lock the doors at night) until I would bang on the door loud enough to wake him up. PS: there is no desk in the room, not even a tiny one.

A nice 3 star hotel in a pleasant location near the Marais. Decent style and furnishings.
The main reason I only rated this as 3 stars is because the room and the bathroom was just so tiny that it simply did not work. I know hotel rooms in Paris aren't large (this is far from my first trip) but this was just silly - couldn't open a suitcase, couldn't open the wardrobe door (as it hit the bed), couldn't walk from one side of the room to the other without shuffling sideways. And the bathroom was even smaller! (I still have the bruises from trying to navigate it) There is no way this room should be sold as a double room.
I was so frustrated by all this, I was glad when our single night there was over.
On the plus side. the reception staff were lovely - striking a great balance of friendly warmth and professionalism. That clawed back a star in my rating.
The breakfast staff were not so on the ball - chatting on their mobile, unloading a large crate of something whilst we were eating etc.. In general the breakfast was quite disappointing (frozen croissants!).
So this hotel had such potential, but let us down on some basics.

Comfortable Beds

We stayed for three night. Slept like a baby at this hotel, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The room size is what to expect for Paris, though the use of space was not bad. My only complaints are the use of ancient Keys,which are rather large so it's best to give them to the front desk when you depart for the day. They should upgrade to key cards like most hotels today. As when the guys next to us un-locked there door it sounded like they were trying to get into our room, which was startling at first. Secondly every time the water faucet is turned on there is a chirping sound. I got use to it by the second day, my wife not so much. The location was great for us wanderers, as we walked to everything, including the Eiffel Tower (approx 1hr 15min walk) and stumbled across some excellent places to eat nearby and great shopping.

Reasonably priced hotel in a good location in the 3rd. Rooms and bath are very small for 2 people. Some rooms have closets, but couldn't open door completely since the bed was too close. Rooms warm, even though air set at lowest temperature. Funny, too, that there was complementary shampoo in bath--but no conditioner. Daily breakfast was convenient, but basic.Probably will search around for a better option in next trip to Paris.

The pros: This hotel is in a great location in the Marais. And the beds are comfortable.
The cons: The facilities look fine but don't appear to work very well. We had an issue with drainage in both our bathtub and our bathroom sink, but when we tried to call down to the front desk about it, the phone didn't work. So we had to go downstairs, and there was only one woman working the front desk. And so as I waited for her to help, someone else walked in to check-in, and because she was the only one at the desk, she asked me to wait even longer -- I suppose because the check-in took priority over maintenance problems. Maintenance ended up coming in to check the problem after we left, and most appalling of all, they left our door unlocked upon our return -- potentially exposing us to serious problems and risking the safety of our belongings.
Finally, when we came home late at night and asked for our key, the man at the front desk was in a joking mood, and repeatedly asked us for \"one million dollars\" in order to get our key. We were tired and not amused, and finally had to say, \"Sir, we are tired. Can we please have our key?\" In all, the staff was well-intentioned but seemed to lack professionalism.

I loved my single room at Hotel Jacques de Molay. Both the room and the bathroom were modern and clean. The area was perfect a 15 minute walk to the Seine, cafes and restaurants all around, and 8 minutes to the Metro. The a/c worked and the room service was good, though I didn't try the breakfast. They ask you to leave your key with the front desk everytime you leave and this got to be a little annoying as sometimes I had to wait for a person to return to the desk and I couldn't leave the hotel. Another time the hotel was locked because someone had left the front desk, so I had to wait to be let in. Wifi worked but was a little spotty. Still, I'd stay again!

For the area, this was a great place. Expectations have to be kept in check when compared to what we would get in North America for the same price. Room is small, bed is small, hotel is old, lock is old fashioned, lift is tiny, but everything in the hotel is of good quality and the service was great. All staff spoke English, which made things much easier for us. Le Marais is fantastic, so many places to eat, shop, and see. Very enjoyable stay. Only downside is wifi was very poor. Frequently disconnected, and bandwidth was weak. This is a big deal for international travelers with severe limitations on data usage while overseas.

Love the hotel. Stayed there 5 nights with my daughter. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Location great. Very clean, good AC. Quite street. Met owner when we checked out and he was just lovely. Immediately offered us breakfast (breakfast was over!) and sent someone out just to buy us a baguette! On the house! I am hooked and plan to stay there on our next trip to Paris as does my daughter.

Adored this hotel!

I was welcomed with a huge smile and a glass of champagne! This boutique hotel is located in the Maurais and is very near lots of restaurants, shops, the Seine, museums and other great places to visit. I found the breakfast to be delicious and filling. The people who worked at the hotel are fabulous! The only issue I had was that there was not enough room for my one carryon suitcase (I had a very small room for one). I made it work!

Amazing room and service

Excellent breakfast made up for the small rooms

My first impression of Hotel Molay was good, poor signage outside, but not overly difficult to find. The front lobby is very nice, classy and well decorated. The desk attendant was friendly. The Wi-Fi worked well. The lift was small as with most of the hotels in Europe, but at least they have one. The room was very clean but extremely small, there was a large wooden beam crossing diagonally through our bedroom, if we weren't cautious we could easily bump our heads on it. Getting up to use the restroom in the middle of the night was a chore to avoid the beam. The restroom was very small and there was a lack of privacy as the frosted glass door doesn't lock or fully close. All in all the room was just ok, but the breakfast made up for it, with smoked salmon, fresh crepes and croissant rolls it was far better than most of the hotel breakfasts that we had on our trip.

Paris is Paris ... but the hotel could do better

Room was not what was ordered and confirmed by the hotel via email, they changed last minute. Small size and poor condition. So so service to remediate issues. Would not stay there again.

terrific modern pad (Marais) & will def stay again

A terrific small and new hotel in the Marais and close to The Pompidou —it was not noisy. The breakfast set-up is outstanding, and the room is very clean, with sharp decor, fantastic bed and linens, cable TV, and proper bathroom with a rain-shower-head and huge tub. The front desk service was friendly and hospitable, and I was granted an early check-in. There is front desk service all thru the night. The rates are affordable and rather fair, tho I suppose rates depend on the week and season. I loved this hotel and have recommended it to friends in France, and I hope to stay there upon my returns to Paris.

Extremely rude staff

Nice location and nice hotel. Unfortunately all but the night porter was with complete lack of service mentality and almost rude. Not at all what you would expect for a hotel in this category. Not even in Paris.
The owner seemed like a nice guy though.

Great stay!

It was a great stay, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the building is lovely and my room was comfortable and clean. Great location for exploring this area and really close to Temple Metro.

Good location in the Marais

Comfortable hotel in a quiet street in the Marais. Good location for walking to the river and not far from the Bastille. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was of minimalist design, and quite small. Would have benefited from tea/coffee making facilities and a folder with details of the hotel (facilities, check out time etc) and surrounding area (attractions, restaurants, bars). There wasn't even a price list for the mini bar. Overall, a good choice for a few nights stay in Paris.
