Room needs a good clean

The radiator didn’t work so a small oil heater was put in the room it had broken wheels. So the room was freezing.
The skirting boards and socket’s covered in thick layers of dust. Bathroom floor dusty in corners overall needed a good clean.
Mentioned the heating problem and the staff member said oh sorry I knew there was an issue but thought it had been sorted.

Great value for money

Stayed here as we were attending a wedding at Oulton hall and this was a short walk away. We could not fault this accommodation it was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the morning was great. I would stay here again.

Quite small and compact rooms but everything you need for a short stay.very clean and tidy.tv with lots of channels. Tea,coffee machine.breakfast included we had full English breakfast which was lovely and set us up for the day.our second stay here and will definitely stay again as we visit family locally.

Clean and serviced daily.
Breakfast from 7:30 am was useful for work
Only slight downside is they stop serving food at 6:45 which is ok most of the time but if your late back you will have to go look for somewhere else.

You’d need days to recover

Helpful staff re: late check-in so that was good. Breakfast staff were lovely.
However(!), it almost feels like a duty to say this: when I entered the room there was a terrible smell of stinky feet, the place was loaded with mould, and the bathroom reeked of raw sewage. The carpet leading into the bathroom was wet when I arrived. As I said, I arrived late so I couldn’t find another hotel. I just bunkered down and tried to sleep whilst inhaling feet pong, mould, and sewage smells. So there you go… I’m guessing that a local environmental agency would have a field day.

Only niggle was lack of breakfast times on Hotels.com ad; started at 8 with only a 15 minute flex when I asked.
Had I known this I wouldn't have booked this hotel as my daughter had an early interview so no time for the inclusive breakfast and we bought an on the go one instead.

My room needed updating to be honest, felt really grubby when you walked in. The front door had a gap underneath so when it rained you could clearly hear it, wouldn't want to be in there on a cold day. The food was mediocre at best. I stayed here while away on business, breakfast wasn't served until 8am which is far too late so went without. The Hotels.com score here is too high in my opinion.

Excellent service from start to finish. We needed a place to stay overnight as we were going to see we will rock you at Leeds grand theatre and was so pleased I found this place. We had the family room number 4 very spacious,clean and lovely and warm. Great value for the 3 of us (2 adults 1 teenager) with breakfast £68. I would definitely return and would highly recommend. Really good in lots of ways - frendly staff, nice place, comfortable room, great breakfast. Would be 10 out of 10 except for a number of things in room that didn't work properly, eg kettle, wifi not brilliant, door to bathroom difficult to open. An afternoon from a handyman would sort these out. I would still happily go back again and would recomend it to anyone else - the negatives are small in comparison to the positives.

I have stayed here in 2019 and was pleased to return in 2020, the Midland have improved the courtyard area and the outdoor seating and enclosed courtyard both are nice to sit and also mean the noise from the pub clientele is defused more! On this occassion I had made a mistake on my booking and turned up on the wrong night ! The staff were very understanding and immediatly jumped to my aid, finding a room, checking it was serviced and booking me in within 5 minutes - whilst I had a nice drink at the bar! So big thanks to staff who despite running a busy bar - were able to accomodate me. the facilties and room was excellent, also the breakfast service was good albeit a little chaotic, good food and a warm welcome ! at this rate more than one can expect.

I stupidly managed to book the wrong day for our weekend stay and shopping trip in Leeds. However, the staff were extremely helpful in getting us into a similar room (both on the phone and on the day).
The stables rooms are exceptionally pleasant and the inclusive breakfast was perfect. It was such a relief to have found somewhere so nice, at short notice and for the price. I would very much like to stay here again if I visit Leeds, which is under 20 minutes away by car. The pub also seems great and scores extra points with me for having a decent dartboard and throwing area. Well done to all the staff for making it all so brilliant!

The property was very warm, noisy pub with loud music, busy road with traffic noise. Accommodation was dark and not ver clean, could do with updating. No parking when we arrived. No room with a view or window to look out of or open, woken up at 2:30 am by people in next room, shouting, talking for about an hour, 1 of the occupants was a member of staff from the pub. Poor service at breakfast, had to ask for a drink in the morning, poor quality, no complimentary breakfast provided. Would not recommend or stay again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of this hotel. The rooms are attached to the Midland Hotel pub, you can only check in when the pub is open. I arrived just after midnight and the staff were just closing for the night. The staff were very friendly and told me that the tills were closed, so couldn't check me in. However they gave me my room keys and told me that they would sort the check-in in the morning once they reopened the tills.
The room was excellent and would put some proper hotels to shame. Very comfy beds and nice clean bathroom. Breakfast is at the pub, and at the pub opening times only, so don't don't complain if you don't get breakfast if you have to leave early.
Had a very good English for breakfast) much better than the rubbish breakfasts you get a star hotels)
Will be staying here again next time I need a room in Leeds.

Absolutely exceeded expectations. Stables with a cute courtyard are converted into small rooms. Perfectly clean, the bathroom was spotless. Beds really comfy. Coffee & tea facilities plus the staff were so welcoming & helpful. The pub served us an INCREDIBLE dinner. The breakfast the next morning was even better! Veggie sausages were the best we’ve ever had! We want to drive the 100miles back just for brekkie again! Dog friendly in the rooms & the pub which is perfect for our frenchie Ernie.

Nice hotel pub with available parking a bit out of Leeds but easily accessible. There was a little coffee shop at the pub and obviously a pub. Room was a good size, they were clean and beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly. There were a few take-aways and a local Lidl within walking distance. recommended. Wifi was a bit hit or miss and couldn't be used for whats app or internet calling

Stayed here with some friends. We took 3 rooms which were in an annex (\"The Stables\"). The rooms were done to a very good standard with several nice touches like biscuits, plenty of towels and a large array of complimentary soaps, body wash, etc. The weather was kind, so having the ability to brew your own coffee and drink it outside in the patio area was a pleasant start to the day. Breakfast was of a good standard and the pub itself seemed very popular with the locals. There was also a very nice indian restaurant about 100m away called Zyco which I would highly recommend

As someone who travels for business a lot, I need a VAT receipt and I have never had an issue until now. The Midland Hotel seem to be incapable of supplying and I don’t think it’s a big ask, three times now I have asked for one, once at check-in, once by email, once at breakfast and nothing has been sent back to me after a week so I am now out of pocket. The room was very nice, staff were friendly, plenty of parking onsite and the breakfast was adequate (1 sausage, 1 x rasher of bacon, 1 x egg, 1 portion of beans, 1 x cold tomato and toast buttered whether you like it or not) the road noise for me was not good it doesn’t stop until very late and then starts again very early, there was also regular marching of feet across the gravel outside my door, some staff members seem to have a break near the rooms and talk rather loudly and there are workman who start very early in the morning and have no consideration for guests. This hotel was ideal for the location where I will need to work for many months to come but I won’t be using them again as although I could live with the noise by bringing some ear plugs with me the next time, I cannot do without a receipt.

Comfortable room and lovely bathroom.
Breakfast totally disorganised. We were asked what we would like to drink and this was served to us. Then we waited...... and waited...... and waited...... Was no one going to take our breakfast order? Apparently not. I had to go to the cafe counter and order it there. Is this normal practice? If so, why did someone not tell us this?
The couple sitting next to us were sitting for 45 minutes before they were seen. Appalling service.
The actual breakfast was not too bad, but didn’t like the soggy toast on the side of the plate.

When we checked in, they couldn’t find our booking! We were notified prior to arrival that kitchen was closed for refurbishment and that it would be continental breakfast only and limited evening meal. The evening offer turned out to be sandwiches. Continental breakfast provided was cereal, milk, yoghurt and toast! When I complained that this was not a continental, the waiter advised that that was all available as they had no kitchen facilities. I pointed out that not two doors away, there was a supermarket with an in store bakery. I cannot fault our young server, he promptly went off and purchased croissants for us. That said, the stay was most enjoyable and the staff were friendly, very helpful and most courteous. The room was quite spacious and well appointed with a comfortable bed. The pub is very well situated close to the railway station and easily accessible by car. We will definitely be returning for another visit.

We were not informed prior to booking that there was major building work happening onsite. Woken up at 7am with noisy builders. Due to the work there was no kitchen facilities which meant no hot breakfast. The continental !! breakfast provided was poor along with the staff service as we were totally ignored and had to ask for everything.
I'm sure it will improve when the work is done but don't think they should charge full price whilst the work is being done.

You’d drive straight past if you hadn’t booked, partly because of the renovation work, but once in the pub it’s obvious that it’s a very popular place with the locals. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu, whilst not having a big choice, had something for everyone and more importantly everything when it arrived was delivered delicious. Breakfast was very cooked, freshly cooked and a good selection. The room was clean and fully equipped. Despite being close to a busy road it was surprisingly quiet. Superb Bed & Breakfast, thoroughly recommend

Absolutely lovely stay, fantastic welcome from start to finish and great value for money.
On arrival Mandy checked us in and personally took us to the room, give us an overview and helpful little tips. Attached to a lovely little pub which we did not get to use but looked very homely with a lovely atmosphere. The stable rooms are very clean and comfortable, on arrival about 8pm heating was on and room very cosy and very clean. Plenty of amenities, loads of teas, coffees, milk and biscuits and in the bathroom a nice gel, shampoo and cream for each guest.
Don't know the area at all but it felt very safe and within a one minute walk of the hotel is a fish and chip shop, two Chinese takeaways, a Dominos pizza and an Indian restaurant.
Beds ultra comfortable so a good nights sleep.
In the morning was again greeted by Mandy for a beautiful breakfast, cereals, juice, teas and coffees and a choice from full English, Bacon Rolls, Eggs Benedict and many more, all included in the price.
All staff were extremely welcoming, in particular Mandy, fantastic value for money and will most definitely use again next time we are travelling north.

We had a treble room for one night it was clean and comfortable it had Tea and coffee in room, hairdryer, TV and large bathroom with electric shower. The pub restaurant was busy but the food was fresh and hot. They also had a nice coffee shop which was open during day but you could sit there in evening to eat your meal... The breakfast in morning was great we had the cooked breakfast which although we went for small was certainly not small! Sausage, 2 eggs,mushroom hash browns and beans and a large tomato! there with a pot of tea each and 2 rounds of toast and fresh orange certainly set us up for the day...The staff were pleasant and the manager Mandy was really friendly. Overall I felt it was great value for the 3 of us and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending to others or returning again..

Unfortunately our stay at the Midland wasn't a positive one. A couple of friends and I stayed here and on arrival in the evening we discovered the window had been left open in the room all day and it was absolutely freezing. The radiator wasn't work so I went to speak to staff about it and was told the boilder was broken. I expressed just how cold it was in there and asked if there were potentially any portable heaters available to use, which someone found and I was given and taken back to the room. Also on arrival there was a complimentary biscuit wrapper left on a shelf on the bedside table from whoever was previously in the room. A friend that booked to stay in another room had a nightmare trying to book with poor communication between staff and being messed around regarding payment then when trying to arrange key collection for the room was told that the member of staff that had taken the booking hadn't 'left a note' to say he had paid. Surely a hotel should have a better system of ensuring details are kept of payments? The toilet in his room hadn't been cleaned. We were woken up at half 7 in the morning by builders sawing and banging outside on site. At breakfast there was more confusion with different members of staff saying different things. There really wasn't much in the way of positives to say unfortunately. The food at breakfast however was generally really nice and there was a good variety.

Just the job - exceeded expectations

Flawless and easy from start to finish. Staff went above and beyond to be helpful with taxis etc. even though it was a busy Bank Holiday weekend for them. Room and facilities great. Fabulous breakfast, great value. Will definitely be back. Thank you 😊

It was perfect for our needs, a one night stay before we flew, food was nice in the restaurant and they prepared a pack up breakfast for us as we left too early for the full breakfast that was included.

Great location and rooms converted from an old stable block a little bit away from the main pub so nice and quiet, great food from the main pub in the evening a good breakfast too also has an on site coffee shop which was open all day, definitely will consider staying here again if in the area.

Useful for East Leeds

I am a regular here and always well treated. There are only 5 rooms and I have used them all at some point. these are not slick hotel chain rooms, nor are they over-twee B&B rooms. They are equipped enough, they are comfortable enough and the showers are very good. The food is limited but absolutely fine and although there have been some occasional 'cheffy' issues but this seems to have settled down. The breakfasts are superb.There is free parking and several other food places nearby. It is good value for money.

Lovely hotel/pub located close to Oulton Hall

We booked this hotel as we were going to a wedding at Oulton Hall which isn't far at all. The staff and rooms were fabulous, couldn't of asked for anything more, I just wish we were staying more than one night as the bed was so comfy! The breakfast was amazing and again the staff were very helpful. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Thank you very much!!!

Nice hotel and close to Leeds

We stayed two nights in late June, 2018. While our room was small, it was quiet with off street parking. The bathroom was recently renovated. The breakfasts were very good. Good selection, cooked to order, plenty of choice. The staff were very helpful. It is easy to get to Leeds.

Lovely place to stay.

Lovely rooms, stayed here and have returned three times, so they are obviously doing something right. Breakfast in the morning is great, staff are helpful and friendly. The locals were friendly and talkative. Just a beautiful place all round!

This is a good place if you don't mind road noise and staff raised voices outside your window, not a problem if your a deep sleeper. Food was very nice, can't comment on breakfast as started to late for me.

Would definitely stay here again if going to Leeds for trip - room was clean and comfortable. Tea /coffee / shower gel shampoo etc in room. Breakfast was fantastic and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. Short walk to the train station and only about 15 mins into Leeds on the train - absolute gem of a property no complaints at all!
