Bathroom door wouldn't close, laminate floor was popping up, no microwave in the room, fire alarm going off early in the morning, construction happening early in the morning. I've stayed at Super 8s and Motel 6s that have been better than this. It is a cheap hotel that is overpriced because you can see water from it and there are no other options nearby.

Have to walk clear through the hotel through the lobby to get to the pool. No microwaves in rooms. Only 1 shared old one next to the ice machine. Room floors were dirty. Staff was extremely rude. They were horrible to deal with. Was to scared to go into the casino. Mostly non -guest were using the casino, yelling cussing, playing 3 machines at once. Men sexually harassing women. No employees to help you cash out. I would never waste my money on this place again.

Overall it’s impressive, looking. The place is nice as is the location next to the water. However, floor had crumbs or something on it. The remote didn’t work u less I got up to change anything and even then it didn’t work well. WiFi kicked me off every couple of minutes so I was constantly logging back in. I was also told that Expedia doesn’t add the resort tax/fee so expect it to be more than you expected. Overall I wouldn’t be going back.

The entire building was clean, and comfortable. The room was decorated well and had a comfortable atmosphere. It’s just a little confusing when checking in, you have to go inside and then into another building. Maybe there could be a sign pointing to the entrance where you have to go to check in.

Very clean, updated room with a nice view. We have stayed at the Rod and Reel several times but this is the first time we stayed after the renovations were made. We really like the updates that were made. The only complaint we have is the breakfast we had at the Rod and Reel restaurant was brought to us was not hot. We would have asked the server to warm our food but we did not have the time to do so. The food was good but would have been better hot.

Rooms were clean, our request to have rooms close to each other was honored. Staff were very friendly. John, bartender at the restaurant was very accommodating to our gift exchange, DJ was fun and took requests. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful with our needs, checked that our rooms were ready when we arrived early even! Two of us live in this town, but we will be back for another staycation!

The room, the staff, the property overall was great. The exception would be the restaurant. Although it is very new, it has a cooperate cafeteria look to it. Aside from a rope rigging near the entrance, you would have no idea you were in a waterfront resort restaurant. A plain white collapsable wall dominates the entire room. Their is no nautical feel to it. Also, it is a little pricey in my opinion. $19.00 for an omelet without even a slice of toast, $6.00 for two pieces of bacon. When I asked for jelly for my $3.00 English Muffin, I was told you do not have jelly. The server said she would bring out some of the compote that is serves with the pancakes. I was very surprised to see I was charged $2.00 for a few spoons of it.

I booked a king waterfront room but after checking into the room, I was given a room with 2 queen beds. When I called down to the front i was told they were over booked so they gave me then nicest room available. The room was very clean and nice but I hoped for a discount since i didnt the room type i paid for. Besides that, the resort was very nice as well as the staff.

The room was very clean, but a few things were lacking....no phone (but one was installed as soon as we brought it to their attention), no blow dryer (but one was delivered to the room as soon as we brought it to their attention, and no bath gel (even after we brought it to their attention). We realize that this is a new wing in the hotel but someone should have done a room check before it was rented. It was fine. They need to pay attention to details (no soap in the bathroom, no cups for coffee). We tried to eat at the CBQ restaurant but the guy working did not seem happy to have customers. And he did not know how to make drinks. (Ice in a mimosa???). The room was comfortable and had a wonderful view.

could use some basic updates, painting, and deep cleaning. It pales in comparison to the elaborately appointed casino areas.

The hotel was not as comfortable as described, firstly the beds are double beds, difficult for two adults to sleep in, the beds were not comfortable and something on the of the bed was very sharp. Air conditioner was very noisy.

The hotel has two parts. A newer one which they do no put you in if you book through \"third party\" clearly the owner is skimping on house cleaning staff. The rooms only get cleaned everyother day the rug relt damp from.being so old. It felt nasty on your feet. I requested a room change and was told it would cost me $30 more and they still never switched my room. They wete not willing to put me in the new sectuon of the hotel because I booked 3rd party. The worst experince by far

I loved the entrance way! Just beautiful. And the entrance that allowed me to see the beautiful Dock! Loved this. The food was delicious, the staff was efficient and knowledgeable, and kind! However the carpet in my room (207) was very very dirty. I hade to wear my flip flops everytime i walked around. And the pillow cases were yellowed.

It was a very nice and relaxing stay. It was very hot and humid, but we found plenty of things to keep us cool and occupied. The location has so many breathtaking views and it is easy to get around by walking or car and easy to explore North Beach as well which is a short drive away. I will come back.

My husband and I had such an amazing time at the Rod 'N' Reel Resort in Chesapeake Beach, MD! 🏖️🎣The town and resort is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, charming, and full of small town magic.
Best of all, it's not overcrowded, which made it feel like a true hidden gem.
Being close to the water is so healing for the soul.
The food was great, especially the fresh seafood. 🐟🦐🍽️
The resort has some awesome perks, including:
A casino, paddle board & kayak rentals. A rooftop pool and an indoor pool.
The area also offers fishing charters 🚤 nature trails 🌿, a boardwalk 🌅 , and local shops 🛍️
It is the perfect place to slow down and soak in the beauty of the bay. 🐚🦀☀️
Highly recommend to anyone in need of rest, connection, or just a beautiful escape. 💫
Just a heads up, bring your own fishing rods🎣
The only negative is you have to bring your own fishing gear. We were hoping to rent some rods and go fishing and there is no option for that.
I didn't want to leave and we will definitely come back.

We had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights July 4th weekend. There was an issue with the kitchen at The Dock and we did not get our food because of a hour and a half back up . Mary overheard me talking to the front desk about it and was able to get us some food . She was so pleasant and kind . Other than that I can say the service at CBQ was hit and miss . Mr. George the chef seemed like he could use a little more help in the kitchen and they need someone to clean the table and empty the trash on a regular basis . 1936 food was pricey but delicious. The rooftop pool was amazing and the views from our room were wonderful. Housekeeping did great and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Overall even though they are under construction. I would recommend to others and we will definitely be back .
