My son and I have stayed at the Germiston Road Lodge several times and have always experienced a comfortable stay. The room and ensuite are clean and well presented. I like that you can open the window if you don't want to use the air conditioner. The breakfast is pricey but does offer a good variety of food. The hotel is extremely conveniently located, especially if you a rower. It is right next to Victoria Lake, it has a great restaurant called Harvards just down the road at Rand Airport and a Roadhouse, for quick takeaways, within a short walking distance from the hotel. It also has easy access to the N3.

perfectly nice overnight business travel stay

the room was basic but clean and comfortable and good value for money. I got a good night's rest, which what I needed. Staff were friendly, but what was a bit confusing was that the key cards had to be held upside down to get into the room, which nobody explained. Breakfast was ok but a bit basic and closed at 9:00 am which I found surprisingly early. There was a nice restaurant at the Rand Airport 5 mins drive away.

We were not happy with the fact that the phone in the room did not work. Not did the heating unit work. The outside temperature was real feel -1. Not happy. The shower door does not close and that with the cold is even more frustrating. I think 3.6 is too high a rating for this price and facilities either

It was great. I thought breakfast would be included in price like few years ago. When we wanted late night coffee there were no clean cups. When we had breakfast, muffin choice was limited to only 2 on the plate and eggs were cold. Passage and supposingly non smoking room smelt like smoke. Staff were friendly and helpfull. Security man exceptionally helpfull and he was very friendly.

Please you need to put walls around the area where you dump your garbage. I didn't enjoy your beautiful garden under the trees because of the bad smell that was coming from your garbage bin please cover up your bin outside the garden

Awful experience at Germiston Lake, Road Lodge

I made a booking for 3 rooms to treat my friends for a weekend away of golf at Glendower and fun at Carnival City. I had arranged to book in very late on Friday evening, 09 October 2015. When we arrived we were rather \"rudely\" accepted by the front desk. This person was extremely unhelpful and downright rude. We requested some water, he said go to the vending machine which we did but there was no water? He finally went to fetch us some water from some other place. We went upstairs to our rooms, found the stairs to be extremely dirty. One of the rooms (210)that was allocated to us still had dirty underwear lying in the room so I went down stairs to complain and with much \"commotion\" from the guy at the front desk I was allocated another room (215). There were some sport teams booked in the Road Lodge for the weekend, but these people were drunk, disorderly and extremely noisy until early hours in the morning so we did not get much sleep. Some of these people were sleeping in the passages as well. On Sunday morning when we booked out there was a \"mess\" outside the Road Lodge with all the rubbish that was lying around the entrance of the hotel from the previous evenings entertainment. I have pictures of this. So yes, this was a very unsatisfactory, unacceptable experience for us and regrettably we will NOT be making use of this accommodation facility again. Disgusting!

This was the worts experiance I every had. This hotel should not be in business. I was rejected at check in by the most unfriendly incompitend staff member I ever came across for not having my ID Book with my. I demand a refund!!!!

This is a basic hotel. Rooms are clean, building and grounds well kept. Parking is secure and staff very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is basic but good quality and more than adequate to start your day.
Perfect for short business trips.
