There was a driver waiting for me at the airport, and he was very kind and helpful. My room was spacious and overlooking the ocean (across the street not beachfront). Breakfast was great. Overall a great stay except for one night, there was a party that sounded like it was on the floor below me but it could have been in the next block.

The Balandra is a very special place. We stayed there after my wife had surgery to rest. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The facilities are wonderful and the food is delicious. An incredible place of beauty!

Hotel is is in a big port city Manta. It is very close to the beach.
If you are looking for a nice quiet b each , it is not. Beach is very noisy with loud music and also doesn't look so clean.
Hotel is is like a different species with beatiful garden and swimming pool.
Staff is great, breakfast is very good, rooms are big and very clean. It is a grwatbplace to stay if you need to stay in a big city. Fee steps from the hotel thwre is a shopping center.

This hotel has a lot going for it. Once inside you wouldn’t even know the city of Manta was just outside. The Bungalow area with pool is easy on the eyes and the room inside and out was very comfortable and welcoming. Next visit to Manta we will plan a longer stay for sure. For beach or shopping and local eateries it is a very convenient
location. To top it all the staff were very friendly and went the extra mile to help make our stay perfect.

We stayed in a double bed room with a view to the beach. We loved our stay there. The staff was amazing. The food was so delicious. The breakfast buffet included with the stay had so much variety and if you didn’t find something all you needed to do is ask and if they could they would accommodate your request. We really enjoyed our stay at Balandra and we will continue to stay in Balandra when we visit Manta.

Great Hotel, perfect location

Appreciated how attentive the hosts were. The rooms were great and have a fantastic view of the beach. I felt safe during my stay and well attended, plus the breakfast buffet was a perfect way to start a day. The Hotel is a block away (walking distance) from the beach. Ten minute drive from the airport and a 5 minute drive to great restaurants. There is also a giant mall to the side of the hotel, a two minute walk. Loved the stay, if i had to be picky about one thing, it would be the pool size, felt small for how big the hotel was. Plus it was always full of kids. Which makes sense since its a family type of hotel. But it wasn't too much of an issue since theres a giant ocean a block away. haha. The hotel offers a restaurant, gym and game room. Definitely worth staying here, specially if its your first time in Manta.

Cute little pool area, but the bar was under construction so we were unable to enjoy the area. The room we were in could use a little TLC (peeling wallpaper and ceiling) but otherwise clean and really nice. The welcome drink was refreshing and the restaurant was a nice place for a quick cocktail. We didn't have any road noise or party noises where we were which is important to us! Quiet! Beautiful property grounds too! We will stay there again when shopping in Manta.

The staff was excellent. Daily helped us in upgrading our room and also assisted in booking transportation to our next destination. Having friendly after hours security is comforting. There was some construction going on next to the pool but that will only make it better in the future.

I was so pleased with this hotel from the moment i stepped in. Every staff member were pleasant and greeted me when I passed. The breakfast that was included was buffet style and everything was delicious. We had dinner at El Faro and everything was amazing. Asked for an iron and it came to us quickly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. You wont be disappointed! Thank you Balandra Hotel

Go Balandra!!! Stay forever

Stay was amazing clean rooms and common areas. Hotel is within walking distance of anything you need, beach, mall, clubs etc. Visit coincided with with Manta 100yr celebration. Hotel staff was extremely helpful with local customs and places to visit. I would stay at the Balandra again without hesitation. I would suggest they upgrade the gym, although the beach within 2min walk has workout stations.

Some improvements needed

It is quite nice in general and customer service is courteous but some improvements needed - the internet signal has been in and out. The safe deposit box is not working, Besides bible, they should have a hotel directory and DirecTV gulde.

I used to stay at this hotel and always had a good experience. Well located and quality of service. But in this last stay I was disappointed to see that the quality has been reduced and it’s no longer competing with other high level hotels in Manta. They need to renew the facilities to keep up. Will probably stay somewhere else next time.

Great independent hotel in Manta

The room is exceptionally clean is larger than is typical in Ecuador. WiFi was fast and reliable as we needed to connect with clients for video calls a few times. Staff, including housekeeping, are kind and friendly. The breakfast is very good with a variety of choice. I will come back to this hotel again.

This property is quite pretty with a lot of beautiful flowers and trees. The area around the cottages and the pool is lovely. The cottages are dated and need upgrades. And not as clean as one would like. Also the AC only runs when you are in the room and can put your key card in the slot. It took hours to cool the room off enough to be comfortable. Also, there are a lot of stairs if this is an issue for you. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the restaurant is lovely, the breakfast is excellent and the location is very good.

The staff was amazing. They truly went above and beyond. They were so helpful and accommodating; very knowledgeable about the area, and gave great suggestions for things to do. The room was tastefully accommodated, and the grounds were lush and inviting. The pool was refreshing and relaxing. The restaurant was delicious. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive and varied. Every day was a new culinary treat. We took advantage of the free WiFi and the complimentary water bottles in the room. The room key system was innovative and efficient. Everything was wonderful.

Great location, modern rooms, but lacked service

Check in was quick and easy, the service manager was very helpful taking me to my room and explaining every thing about the tv, AC, room service etc. However, that's where the service ended. Room was not cleaned or bed made during my two night stay, trash not emptied, and my room service tray and leftover food sat outside my room for 2 days in the intense Ecuadorian heat until I left. Room safe didn't work, which was a worry for me. Those were the negatives, but it's a great safe location next to the major mall, a short walk to the beach, breakfast has a huge selection and a great view over the ocean, and the room was very modern, super clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Overall it was great, but the service was lacking.
