The place is a must if you do Caminito Del Ray. The view is amazing and service was very good. The hotels rooms are cozy with 2 spaces. We got a small livingroom with TV and fridge. Then you take a narrow snail stairs to the bedroom and bathroom. Fun for one night, don't know if I would have liked it for more. Take note that the road to get there is in the mountains, so very narrow abut a lot of parking spot available. You can leave your car there to go to Caminito Del Ray by bus (2.5 euro for all bus during one day).You can also there by train from Seville.

Proximity to the Caminito del Rey great and food really good. Other than that I can’t recommend it. The rooms were very dated and the walls thin. Fittings and towels really old. Even the loo paper was cheap. No comfortable lounge for a drink just a fairly functional dining room. Stall not very welcoming. The whole place needs to be refurbished / remodeled.
Also very expensive for what we got.

The hotel is excellent and we loved the room we had.
The restaurant though is not good. Ate 1 dinner of the worst ribs I’ve ever had and chicken was not fully. My husband and I couldn’t eat it and the waitress didn’t ask if we liked the food. Would stay again but not eat at the restaurant next time.

Wow! Stunning hotel in an amazing location.

A truly beautiful, creatively designed hotel in an amazing location. We were on a climbing holiday and everything was so close. We had intended to go mountain biking too but never got round to it.
Our room was stunning, the staff helpful, food generally good. We had a lovely stay. El Chorro is very small and because the hotel arranges so many of activities, it was busy in some areas eg reception.
I would recommend the hotel highly.

Really enjoyed our stay. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved our quirky room which was very comfortable with a great shower. Swimming pool and area was really lovely, a real bonus after a long hot walk.
We ate in the restaurant both nights and food was good. Better on the Saturday than the Sunday but still good value for money.

The area around the property has suffered a landslide. This results in a very restricted area for the frequent buses, residents parking and the noise and disturbance of workers repairing and clearing where the landslide occurred.
The hotel lobby is often used for non residents to gather awaiting buses, getting passed them can be difficult.
Finally our room and I believe most of the rooms cannot receive WiFi. This could be easily rectified with repeater units. Meanwhile those non residents hanging around for buses enjoy good free WiFi.

If you’re hiking the Caminito Del Rey, or not this hotel is outstanding. I was amazed at how nice this place is for where it’s located. Staff was awesome, as was our room, and the food was excellent. We had an 8:50 start for the Caminito and the bus was right out in front of the hotel to deliver us to the start. And the end of the trail is just a short distance from the hotel. Parking was easy with many covered spots, and not super tight like most places. I highly recommend.

So noisy Bad experience. It looks like someone was making renovation in the room next to mine. We were able to hear anything and the others rooms. The only positive thing is to be close to the hike El caminito del Rey. The restaurant was also very bad bad cuisine bad service. The employee doesn’t seem to have fun working there.

This hotel is in an amazing location. We stayed in the wine room (beware narrow staircase to bedroom if the that would be an issue for you). Beautiful view out the window. Very convenient if you are hiking the Caminito Del Ray, the bus picks you up out front and the hike ends close to the hotel. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel - food and atmosphere were great. The young lady server was not friendly and either didn’t speak any English or didn’t want to since we didn’t speak Spanish. The young man server was much friendlier.

The location is perfect, just next to the station. The food and view at the restaurant are also perfect.

Just one thing that the shampoo and shower gel is limited to a little portion for a night. Sometimes, we have few showers in a day coz it's too hot and we went to swim in the afternoon. We don't have sufficient gel for bathing. Otherwise, the staff is very nice and willing to help.

The room has The bed and bathroom upstairs, be sure to ask if your room has this tight, spiral staircase. The lower level is simply a sitting room with an additional television. We use this only for storage of our luggage. Hotel and its restaurant are very convenient for the train to and from Malaga and for the hikers shuttle bus. I would not choose to stay here again

So conveniently located by the train station but without any of the noise. Magically stay, beautiful views. They could do better with the soaps and towels, very bare bones there. The pool is absolutely FREEZING!!! They don't heat it at all so it was totally unenjoyable. But otherwise the food at the restaurant was good. Fantastic location for those hiking the caminto and the bus to the trail head is located very near, a couple minute walk or so.

The property was really pretty. The room was clean and comfortable. There are no restaurants in the area, but there is one on site. The young woman serving us was so incredibly slow, I am not even sure how to describe it. Just for example..... We asked for the check, waited 15 minutes. Asked again, waited again. Then someone else brought us the check because she was at the bar on her phone. So so bad. The food was not good, very disappointing.

If I could separate the hotel and the restaurant, I would give the hotel a 5 star review (the front desk seemed to be \"over\" the tourist thing, but most everyone else was nice).

I would give the restaurant a 1 star review. So bad.

We chose this property as best location for Caminito del Rey trail. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We had the \"Movie\" room which was very original although not very recommended for people that do not wish to go up&down the stairs but cool touch. Brilliant stay during our visit to Caminito Del Rey. Hotel is situated right next to the train station and just a 5/10 minute walk away from the South entrance. Room was spacious and clean, only downside was that the air was very dry due to the AC. Lovely pool area with sunbeds overlooking the hills. Outside restaurant area had a fantastic view and would definitely recommend eating there. We did for both nights of our stay and had a great mix of traditional food and drink. Great value for money for a stay during the off season.

We loved the location just next to the bus stop for Caminito (we slept overnight and got into the first group for hike the next morning).
The room was clean and tidy, just a bit unusually designed (strange looking dining spoons, forks and knives fixed to the ceiling, the bathroom/toilet doors are totally transparent that can be difficult for some guests that are not close family, friends for example).
The food was average, not superbe. Breakfast was better than dinner. Quite alot flies in the hall and breakfast area- but not in room).

Overall, one of the few hotels in the area if you’re looking to explore Caminito del Rey, and probably one of the nicer ones. The views were nice, but there is some electric factory directly across the river, which was a bit of an unexpected eye sore. We had a good recommendation from the hotel check in to explore some nearby trails, I’m still not sure if that was better or worse (we only had time for one) than doing the traditional Caminito del Rey paid/bridge walk... but we enjoyed it. I will say that the restaurant experience wasn’t great. The waitress was really rude and I think misunderstood that we had a reservation already (for 9pm) and were simply trying to come at 8:30. She seated us but wouldn’t let us sit in the waterfront seat that was “reserved” for someone else (pretty positive it was for us). We stayed there until close and no one ever came to that table. The food was okay. The pool was nice/cool/with amazing/relaxing views. The room itself was interesting/eccentric and clean.

We chose La Garganta primarily because they manage Caminito del Ray tickets, which practically means they arranged admission for us, when they were sold out on official website of Caminito.
They did it seamlessly!

Moreover hotel has nice swimming pools, clean and spacious rooms, free parking.

Beware - stairs to the 1st floor in the room are quite steep and noisy (metal).

Amazing hotel in a very scenic corner of the world with wonderful staff. The location of this hotel (a few steps from the El Chorro train station and the bus stop for Caminito del Rey) is perfect. We arrived on the 10.15am train from Seville which was a bit a too early for check-in but the hotel staff were happy to store our luggage for us in the meantime.

The hotel facilities are great, the room and bed are comfortable with nice little touches. We stayed in the duplex with views and the spiral staircase heading up to the bedroom is fairly narrow but nothing we couldn't manage. There was no mobile reception in the area as you could imagine but the hotel WiFi was blazing fast and we had no connectivity issues during our stay.

The views are an absolute showstopper, which we could enjoy from our room as well as the restaurant and terrace. We found the food delicious and reasonably priced; dinner on the terrace was a great way to cap off the evening after spending the whole day at the Caminito.

The only thing better than the hotel are the staff members: the ones we met were wonderfully helpful, warm and polite, including the front desk as well as restaurant staff. We'd love to be back again.

Nice Location in El Chorro

We really enjoyed this hotel. The location is remote and lovely, with scenic overlooks near hiking and a national park. Our room was cute with a spiral staircase and the bed was super comfortable. The only thing that didn’t make our stay as enjoyable is that there was a light smell of sewer gas at times coming from our bathroom and we had to sleep with the door closed. It wasn’t a deal breaker!

Stayed the night before we did the caminito del Rey. Reception staff were polite friendly helpful and generally couldn’t do enough to help us.
Had lunch but it turned out badly after waiting 1 hour for our food we discovered our order hadn’t been made. But to be fair the lovely receptionist came to speak to us and we ended up not having to pay.
Dinner was excellent as was breakfast. The pool was also a great bonus in the heat.

Excellent Hotel, with added touches, which made it a unique stay experience. The rooms were comfortable. I decided to stay an extra night because it was so good. Really a Great Location - right next to El Chorro Train Station and also the bus from El Chorro to the start of the Caminito del Rey. Staff were excellent, which makes it an ideal location for people to stay before or after walking the Caminito del Rey. A little gem!

We stayed here after watching the second stage of La Vuelta. The hotel is really easy to find. The pool area although not huge has plenty of sun beds and umbrellas and is very clean. It is very welcome as it does get very hot inland. Our room had 2 bedrooms with kitchenette, seating and dining areas. The bathroom had plenty of toiletries and towels available and the whole thing was spotlessly clean. A nice surprise was the private terrace area with table, chairs and a substantial umbrella. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was very good as was our breakfast. Would definitely recommend it!

We arrived very late at night and we were warmly welcomed, the receptionist helped us to order the wine as preferred at the bar when she heard me struggling. The only real choice

Very handy for the Caminito Del Rey walk as there was not much other choice. The food was probably the best available but very inconsistent.Ok if you do the walk but not otherwise.

Great hotel, great location

We stayed the night before walking Caminito del Rey, the staff were very helpful with information about the bus etc. The hotel has lots of artifacts from the area, the room was great, the food in the restaurant was excellant. I had booked B &B, so the breakfast menu was limited but good. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Wonderful natural location in Spain!

Our family of 4 absolutely loved our stay here. Felt like we were in a completely different world. The apartment had two bedrooms, a living area, a small kitchen and a large terrace. We hiked and swam in area lakes. The staff was very helpful with my many questions and the restaurant had some of the most best food we had on our entire trip. Surprising how great the free wifi was induces remote area. One of our most memorable visits in Spain!

Great location for El Camineta del Rey

Great location for completing El Camineta del Rey,with a pool overlooking the mountains & reservoir. Excellent service & good food on the terrace at night.spiral staircase in the bedroom is tight! However, great walking & vultures soaring in the sky.book your gorge walk in advance on - line.

THE LOCATION IS JUST WONDERFUL AS ARE THE VIEWS FROM THE HOTEL. IT IS JUST SUCH A SPECIAL PLACE. IF YOU LIKE QUIETNESS AND NATURE THIS IS THE PLACE AND ALSO THE GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY IN THE AREA IS UNIQUE. IT TRANSPORTS YOU TO A TIME PAST WHEN THINGS WERE LESS HECTIC.
THE STAFF ARE SO HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. THE FOOD IS INTERESTING AND REFLECTS THE HISTORY OF THE AREA, AND AGAIN QUITE UNIQUE.

Lovely hotel with lovely rooms .
Reception staff were very helpful. However disappointed with the restaurant due to food quality and price.would stay again great location for kings walk and staff were able to rebook walk due to first attempt being cancelled due to the heat .
