Our family of four spent three nights at the Hotel Aashiya Haveli! We loved it there. The location is great, in the heart of where you want to stay (Lal Ghat) and there’s a great view of the lake from the roof. The room was spacious, clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. Overall, it was very mellow and pleasant. Sometimes it was a little hard to find staff but that was never a big issue.

The hotel overlooks the lake so the view is nice. There are a couple restaurants steps away from the hotel.
The hotel is basic, it could be better with better
towels, providing shampoo, hair dryer and space heater. Breakfast was fine.
Overall I would recommend this hotel. The owner
is very accommodating. Difficult to reach by car but there are lots of Tuktuk.

You need to get tuk tuk as car will not get there but cheap enough 100 inr from a car park is enough
Basic rooms ac but didn’t really work WiFi okay family run but not really looked after could have been down to holi had to ask for towels water etc

Value for money location near Lake Pichola.

Excellent location for the room rent to be paid. Proximity to all important sites by walking distance in the old city of Udaipur. Experience the stay in 240 years old family property managed and well maintained by the owner Mr Satyendrasinh, with lots of personal care and affection.
You may enjoy the beauty of lake pichola for hours from the terrace of the hotel during morning and late evening and relax.
No food service (except tea pot) is available in the hotel, but lots of good restaurants (like Rainbow terrace) are just outside of the hotel.
Excellent location, family owned and managed property with its own major pluses and few minor minus points compared to hotels.

Best cozy stay at Udaipur with the best view

Aashiya Haveli summarised everything that India is known for - Atithi Devo Bhava. For a start, we reached there at 1 am in the night, and satyadev ji (the host) was there to welcome us. We were given the best rooms along with the best amenities. (Thankfully no TV). The hotel is approx 240 yrs old, with an old world charm. It has the best view of Lake Pichola. The staff is enthusiastic with each request taken care of. Child care is absolutely great. We had breakfast at the terrace every day with a lake view. Satyadev ji helped us with tourist attractions info as well. Overall it was a lovely experience to stay at Aashiya Haveli. Highly recommended for family as well as solo stays. I'm going back for more soon.

Best lake view in the lake city of Udaipur.

Super Amazing. The owner Mr. Satyadev ji is a gem among the jewels. He will ensure to make comfortable not only your stay at the property but also while traveling in the town. Free water, tea and whatever is required!!! This Gentleman refused to charge a penny for tea and water provided during my stay. Even after my insistence, he plainly refused. It's hard to find such a host these days. His family and assistant - Panditji will ensure you have a perfect homely stay with peace and tranquility. The property is spotlessly clean for 24 hours with so much peace that one can practice meditation and zen life. Location is a bit let off as the property is located in narrow lane which means cars would not able to drop but presence of other qualities and amenities will ensure that it remains a non-deterrent.

I have saved the best for the last - The propoerty has two rooms which has lake view. Fortunately for me, I got to stay in one of the same room - the window opens to the lake with access to 24 hours fresh air at your bed.

Great value for money in Lal Ghat

Comfortable and clean hotel with great service. The architecture and design reflects traditional Rajasthani style. The location is in Lal Ghat, and literally a few steps away from the lake, including a boat ride booth. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Like many other hotels in the area, there are tables and chairs on the rooftop, providing stunning views of the lake, including the Lake Palace and Jag Mandir.

Room itself was clean, with fairly comfortable beds and functional bathrooms. WiFi is available, but was slow when we stayed.

Amazing view of Lake Pichola from Rooftop!

Pandit ji was super helpful with any requests (like extra soaps, towels, chai, coffee etc.). Only downside to this location (Lal Ghat) is that only autos and bikes can operate on the narrow roads. If you are having a car, you might have to find a parking place and catch a local auto to get to this place.

Peaceful place with good food in nearby resteraunt

Though it was a short one day stay, yet there are many things to say which I observed.
Finding this place can be a small play for you, but once you reach, peace is what you feel. Standard rooms may look like small matchboxes, but deluxe rooms will give you an awesome view of Lake Pichola. A television, an extension phone, clean bathroom utilities are something you will find missing. No resteraunt within the haveli, but Resteraunt Rainbow just next to it is a must go place. Awesome food, cleanest ambience and eye-smoothering view will make you heart to stay there and spend some good time. Overall its a Rating 4 place to go in comfortable budget.

Good position in a quite corner of town, lovely rooftop view of the lake but lacks character with featureless rooms. The worst part was the over attentive and intrusive staff member who seemed to be round every corner. Being charitable, he probably meant well (or at least was only trying to secure a good tip) but I would caution any single female from staying here.

Excellent location, friendly staff with clean rooms. The view from the rooftop was amazing. The only downside was that the wifi in the lobby area was down for a few hours during one of the days we stayed and the water was luke warm at certain times of the day. But besides those minor glitches, it was an excellent stay.

Good property... Service needs to be improved

We booked 3 nights at this hotel after reading positive reviews on TA & Hotels.com. Before booking, i called the hotel and spoke to them and specifically asked for a Lake Facing Room. The person on the reception told me to book a Deluxe room as they were lake facing and i booked one.

On check-in, we were shown a standard room on the ground floor which faced the chowk/taxi stand near the hotel at one side and a line of shops on the other side. Due to noise till midnight you cannot possibly sleep in peace. I asked their helper and he confirmed this was a deluxe room. Then i checked online and found our that i have indeed been given a standard room. I then spoke to their owner and told him that i want to be shifted to a lake facing room and was shifted the next morning.

Apart from the above, the hotel does not have a restaurant. They serve veg breakfast on request. They do not serve alcohol at this property. We were told that we will be charged for 2 bottles for packaged water in the room but eventually they decided not to charge us.

If the management of the hotel becomes more professional, this place would become a gem in Udaipur.

I was very happy with Aashiya Haveli for a few days in Udaipur. The building is a very attractive and well maintained traditional building, with marble and stone everywhere, making it pleasantly cool. The location in the old city is great: very close to the lake at the end of the street, so there's no through traffic, with excellent views of the lake from the rooftop. It's a short walk to the City Palace, which is a great place to spend a few hours. Many good restaurants on this and surrounding streets.

Great views of Pichola Lake, close to major sights

What makes this hotel is its location on Pichola Lake, a short walk from the City Palace and Bagore Ki Haveli, and the wonderful smiling Phool (who seems to run the place). He is friendly, helpful, energetic, cheerful, gives great advice! We chose the hotel after seeing photos of the views of the Lake from their rooftop & rooms. We opted to book a deluxe room after reading reviews telling of views of the lake. Unfortunately our deluxe room, while large & comfortable, had no such views (we could see neighbouring buildings and power lines), though after our initial disappointment we realised just how big our room was. We had 2 twin beds (pushed together) & a day bed in one \"room\", in the next \"room\" a little seating area with 2 armchairs, a low table, a cushioned windowbox, and a wardrobe. The bathroom was a long room, wet-room style - the towels had seen slightly better days. The room was very clean on arrival, though it was not serviced during our 3 night stay (which was fine though we wish the bin had been emptied daily). We did not receive complimentary water as listed on Hotels.com. There is no restaurant, though they do serve a cheap & simple breakfast. As Phool explained, with so very many restaurants nearby it was not really necessary to have one on site (he is a practical man). We would come back for him, the location (be aware you will need to walk up steep hills and narrow roads to get to the hotel), & the big rooms - though next time we'd request one with a view.

DON'T stay here for the food or the comfortable beds; DO stay here for the lovely, helpful staff and the beautiful views. In all fairness, Indian beds are hard. This is par for the course unless you stay at posh hotels. Maybe even then sometimes! But Aashiya is a lovely old haveli on a quiet yet central street that opens right onto the lakefront. And the staff (Phool, in particular) will help you along every step of the way. Also in Aashiya's defense: they don't need to include food since \"every building is a restaurant\" anyway. Aashiya is safe and clean and pleasant. Book it!

Hard to find... Because I arrived on the eve of Diwali and roads were closed for the festivities. From the airport, I was dropped at the nearest point where the road closures were and I had to walk about 20mins to the hotel. The room and the hotel itself were very clean. My room however did not face the lake. But the staff service made for that. Fuul(?) was very attentive and he tried to call every guest by their names. They only serve set breakfast and the choice to eat it at the rooftop with the magnificent lake view. Location of the hotel is close to main sites in Udaipur, just a short walk to everything.

I had booked a deluxe room & had requested Mr. Sathya Dev Singh Ashiya to allot me a room on the upper floor with the view of the lake. He had kept up his promise & we really enjoyed a great view of the lake. We could see the Lake Palace hotel, enjoyed a laser show at Jagmandir from the room. The sunset watched from the room was unforgettable. The only problem is proper food served in the hotel since there is no full fledged restaurant & the choice of whatever breakfast & other meals is very limited. However there are quite a few restaurants at walking distance.
Hotel staff need to be improved. No one is available especially in the early morning & we had to wait till beyond 7.15 am for a cup of tea.

staff was very knowledgable and helped with everything from luggage to itinerary to food to directions.
rooms were good sized and clean.
location is great with lake only a street away and many rooftop restaurants nearby. many attractions are at walking distance so are shops and restaurants.
nice view from rooftop though it is smallish and can not really be shared.

Great place to stay, difficult to find

We stayed here during end of June, which is normally end of off season. The Hotel itself is located at stone's throw from Lake Picchola and has only 7 rooms since it is a converted 200 year old haveli (Mansion). You will receive excellent personal service from the owner as a result of this. It is very difficult to locate this Hotel in the city. We had to employ services of an Auto Richshaw to locate it close to Jagdish Temple. It is very close to City Palace and Dudh Talai, you can easily walk there. The only meals available are beverages like Tea and Coffee, for all other needs, I recommend venturing out into the city.

We were very warmly welcomed, and fuul (spelling?), the sort of manager bent over backwards to make us happy, very friendly too. The hotel was very clean, but I think its imperative that one asks for the room on the top floor that is lake facing. the other rooms could be a bit dark. But as far as pricing goes, this hotel was fantastically reasonable, even for south africans.

The hotel exceeded all our expectations. A great location, superb size room and bed, very good service in every way. Breakfast is a limited service that you order and then it is delivered to the rooftop area which is a little basic but has the great view across all the lake. It does no other food.I could not really recommend this hotel too highly for any traveller, mature like us or gap student.

Not for Everyone, but Great if it's You.

This hotel is all about location and value. The hotel room pictures show a very Spartan atmosphere, and for what you pay, it's pretty much what you should expect.

Its best attribute is its location followed by the Staff. It is within 5 minutes of everything without being in the middle of it all and having to deal with the noise at night. It does not have a rooftop bar but there are multiple ones just around the corner. Its staff is very thoughtful and make sure you are as comfortable as possible. Case in point...We arrived really late, and instead of keeping us at the front desk checking in and filling paperowrk, the owner gave us our keys so we could drop off our stuff and get dinner before things started to close. We \"officially\" checked in the next day. You don't get that level of thoughtfulness in other places.

On the downside, the linens were worn and faded with a couple of spots, the blanket was thin and just because AC is an amenity, it does not mean there is heat. If traveling during the summer, this is not a problem, however winter nights get pretty chilly (35-40F degree). I was freezing the first night, however the next morning I asked for additional blankets which made the second night much more comfortable. The bathroom is an open design (no shower door/curtain), but water pressure and temp where superb. And in the AM pigeons get together in the area so lots if bird noises. However, I pretty sure that would apply to all hotels in the area.

My stay in Aashiya Haveli was pleasent. I stayed in Lake View room. Views from room were superb. Location of hotel is excelent as it at walking distance to most of the places to visit in Udaipur.
Owner was very helpful. Gave us idea on where to go and pros or cons of each place in Udaipur. He infact made us an tentaive itineary of the plcaes we can go and see with expected expenses.

We stayed at this hotel while waiting for a flight from Udiapur, India. It is a lovely, family operated hotel located in the shopping area of the city. The roof top view is comparative to high priced hotels in the area. The staff and management were very helpful and accommodating and the hotel was spotlessly clean. We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel and would recommend it to anyone travelling through Udiapur.

Although the havelli faces the lake, it is surrounded by narrow streets and noisey traffic.
The rooms lack facilities such as cupboards closets mirrors with very low grade towels and bedsheets. the showers are open facility without any curtains.

Lovely place to stay. Clean room, gorgeous rooftop view of the whole lake. Breakfast and all food yummy, cheap and SAFE. Cooke by the owners wife. You' see the owners dad hanging around the place and he is seriously a very helpful man. When his son is not around he will get things organised for you. The housekeeper is a top man that will do anything for you. Wired internet and WIFI only available in the downstairs lobby. The owner is a wonderful man that got up very early in the morning to check us in and also early again to check us out. If you go to Udaipur it's a place you must stay in. Right down near the water in a very quiet alleyway with lots of access to shops and all the sites.

Roof was quite large and decently furnished. Food was great, though the hotel is surrounded by eateries for all tastes
