What a wonderful property. The staff were very warm and friendly. The breakfast was excellent...all prepared on site. The property was beautiful inside and out. I would recommend staying in Kastraki where this property is located. The village is very relaxed and the views of the spires are much better than those in larger Kalabaka. The monastaries are breathtaking. Just be prepared to navigate a lot of steps. I would definitely stay at Doupiani House Hotel again!

The room was terrible. Beds are old and worn out. Sheets are rough as sand paper. AC barely works, (took all night to cool the room down by 1 degree). Electrical outlets are hanging from the walls ( looked hazardous to me) lights are so dim I could barely see anything (had to use our cell phone light to see while showering). Shower was awful, (too small to fit a normal size person into it). Drain on the floor just popped up and off. TV was the size of my laptop computer. (What a joke). Everything about the room was dark, old and outdated. Bottom line is the room was terrible . I can’t recommend these rooms to anyone….not even for 1 day.

We had a brief but memorable stay at Doupiani House. After the long drive from Athens, we loved the serenity of the hotel grounds and the gorgeous view of the Meteora cliffs from our balcony. The staff are kind and helpful and gave us great tips for catching the sunset (the best one of our Greece trip) and for a nice traditional meal afterwards in Kastraki. At breakfast the following morning, everything was fresh and tasty. Visiting the monasteries was easy as they are a very short drive away and the staff helped us plan our itinerary. Overall, we loved Doupiani!

This place is beautiful. It is further away from the other city, Kalabaki, but much quiet here. The patio and the view of meteora was beautiful. The room was large, clean, amenities were described, AC worked great, the receptionist and all the staff was so nice and friendly. The breakfast is what makes this place shine. I loved the fresh jams, pastries, eggs, sausage, spinach pie, variety of beverages and everything else.

We’ve been traveling in Greece (return trip) for a few weeks. This may have been our nicest stay. First, a lovely room and setting. Second, the professionalism AND warmth of the staff. What a divine place to stay while in ethereal Meteora! Its near the outskirts of Kastraki, but that means the views are stunning. Doupiani House is within walking distance of the monastery of Agios Nikolaos, and it's an easy 10 min walk into the center of the village. The complimentary, local, homecooked breakfast was the best I had in Greece. Luckily, this time of year the garden figs are in season. And the tavernas in town were so enjoyable, too. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean and toiletries were stocked. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe and slept well. The energy here was palpable and grounding. If I ever get to return to Greece, I'm spending an entire week here!

Our first trip to Meteora, Doupiani house is a charming accomodation with amazing view of the Meteora. The town itself is quite small so everything is relatively close by. We had our own car so it was easy to get around and it would be if you’re without it too however you’ll have to walk a bit more than other hotels (maybe 10-15mins) which are in the middle of the town.

We had a wonderful stay with an amazing fresh buffet breakfast and has to be the closest hotel to the monasteries. We were easily able to see 4 of the 5 monasteries in one day and we simply chose not to see the 5th. Loved the hotel and loved Meteora.

It was a surprisingly great stay in monastery heaven. I felt like we were in a delux comfortable hotel in a Fred Flinstone time era. The ambiance inside and outside was superb. The lanscape was taken care of by the owner who loves plants-a Greek jungle of plants and TLC. The service was impeccable. Always greeted with a smile, how are you, do you need help and enjoy your day. The view from the bedroom was a picture-perfect scene of mountain peaks and serenity. Our motto was \"no stress\", and we shared this feeling with the friendly female chef-in. Will we come back? Yes! I have found a place to run, think, hike, read, write and rest my weary brain. Thank you for peace for the soul.

Amazing hotel from top to bottom! We checked in late because we were held up in Athens and then arrived straight to our tour, but check in was a breeze. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. We got a room with a view of Meteora, so in the morning I went straight to open the doors to the balcony. Absolutely amazing! To be on the balcony looking at that view is something spectacular. What makes it even better is that the hotel is high above the rest of the town, so the view is unobstructed! The breakfast the hotel offers is top notch, and the outdoor sitting area is wonderful. If I'm ever in the area again, this will be my place to stay.
